Good morning,

I am waving a white flag. Just worn out. Woke up this morning with Shane saying "mom, this looks wierd". The rash he started yesterday, now looks like shingles or something. All over his face, side of neck and on back. Have a call into the dermatologist.....could also be an allergy to his acne medicine.

Sigh....gonna be a long one!

Debbie

Good morning all!!
Betty, funny that your kitty did that to you,, not so funny that you got scared. My elizabeth just loves to jump on the bed when I am making it. First the sheet then the blanket then the top throw, she waits till all is done and then slowly crawls to the edge of the bed and drops to the floor. She does it every chance she gets. I have no idea why..lol
Shirly,, so glad to read about Tubbys test results. I hope they get better and better. Have you guys picked out a plant or two yet? Give Tubby big huggs from me!!

Diane, sure would love to be sitting in front of a wood stove right about now. I am hot here.. And working outside all day is not fun, especially since it is not doing creative stuff or gardening. I am trying to sort all the stuff I have dragged home for trash to treasure projects and get rid of the bulk of it.sigh. I hate this. I am storing as much as possible in the old greenhouse.

Ohh Debbie,, so sorry.

Waving high to everyone else. I am behind on keeping up with all of the chatter. I need to go get stuff done!!

Verona, ON

Shirley my Dh used to go hunting in the Reed Lake area. Small world eh?
Kris have you called the Insurance Co for some guidelines? I would hate to see you work so hard especially when you are not feeling on top of the world and it was all for naught.
Goodness I hope it is not shingles that Shane has Debbie. I can see all of his HS classmates teasing him about having Herpes!
Need to get outside and get some work done before it rains or snows.
Holly how did your second interview go?
Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Talk about confusing, replied to these post on other thread..lol

Not busy, one of the appts. scheduled today was a no show, so I gave Wayne my ipad and he's searching for fun tools for my trailer so I don't get into trouble..i.e. 2 poles that are hooked into hitch and vehicle I assume, when they line up you know you are where you should be...fun playing...Wayne's a camper and loves gadgets so he'll lead me astray!

Victoria Harbour, ON

You don't often hear of young children with shingle's do you? Yikes, hope it's from the meds he's taking vs. shingles..

Sun came out here for a few minutes Dianne, now clouding over..from the sounds of it you get Breakfast Television??, hmmm would I get one of your local t.v. stations on Roger's?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Wow, so many of you up early!
Betty, have you put your heart back into the proper place yet! Geesh, that would scare me too!

Lyndonville, NY

Shanes doc called and wants to see him. So soon as I get done with my appt. which is at 1:00...have to run him over to the derm. office. Pray that my appt. is on time and not running late!

I will update when I get back

Debbie

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

I'm taking a little break right now and then back to work. Feed the dogs the scraps and then the dishes will be done. Then on to tackle that last room. There's alot of sorting to get done and things that need to go to the shop. I'll have to check on the chickens yet sometime today.

Debbie my dear, I'm sure you feel like if it wasn't for bad luck you wouldn't have any at all. Just know that we are all here for you and send you hugs and prayers. Have you given Shane any benadryl to help with the itching or doesn't it itch? I pray that it is nothing serious.

Kris take it easy out there cleaning up. It's hard to believe it is that hot someplace when other places are getting snow. There's no perfect place or we'd all want to be there. I'd help if I was closer to ya.

Dianne I loved the Red Lake area. The cabin was about ten miles out of Red Lake and you was away from all the hussle and bussel. Yet it wasn't that far if you needed something and they had some cute shops to visit. I always loved the drive. It's about 16 hrs from here. The one guy still owns the cabin, the other one passed away not too long ago. Some day I may ask him if I could just use it for a week of silence and visit friends around there. That is a long ways off hopefully.

Well I had better get back to work, break time over. Chat later.
Shirley

Victoria Harbour, ON

Will be waiting for an update Debbie...hope with this all going on your headache won't start up! I think your physicians should be giving you a discount considering the amount of times you see them.

You need to slow down Shirley, take a break today, put your feet up and tell Tubby stories.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie, droping in for update????

Saw these and thought of you..

For Mary: How to stop a dog from digging in a garden. Start right! Never let the dog see you digging . . . Doggy see, doggy do

For Crissy:Grass is just a flower bed in waiting

Victoria Harbour, ON

Tubby, this ones for you:

Two older ladies were sitting on a park bench outside the local town hall where a flower show was in progress.
One leaned over and said, "Life is so boring. We never have any fun anymore. For $5.00 I'd streak through that stupid flower show!"
"You're on!" said the other old lady, holding up a $5.00 bill.

As fast as she could, the first little old lady fumbled her way out of her clothes and streaked through the front door of the flower show.

Waiting outside, her friend soon heard a huge commotion inside the hall, followed by loud applause.

"What happened?" asked her waiting friend.
"Why, I won first prize for Best Dried Arrangement."

ACK! Been busy all day and now I'm way behind again! Gonna mark my place here so I can read up this evening.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Crissy, your day must go by very quickly with keeping so busy as you ...

Hoped Debbie would be back with an update..

Ann called to say she was coming for t.v. Bingo tonight but you could tell she had been crying..not sure how their appointment went yesterday!

The girls were telling me of a class scheduled at the glass studio which has scratch art type finish in vasey next week, class is full but
Because it's full she told me to come Saturday and she'd give me a private lesson...I'm up to that! With having the kiln now it would be nice to learn how to make nice pieces instead of the oooops I've been taking out of the kiln...lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, that is too funny!

Well, I found out I don't have a broken finger, I have 2 broken fingers. Both top knuckles on the index and middle finger are broken. I have to wear splints till the 13th of April, then another x-ray to see if they heal properly! UGHHH!

Lyndonville, NY

Love the little bunny!

Well, the news is NOT good. None of it is. They took me right in and did Xrays. It showed I have a very messed up shoulder. Some large bone spurs, in the rotator cuff area. It is an impinged rotator cuff with scapula (shoulder blade) impingement also.

I have to go for an MRI this week to check the ligaments and tendons to see if there is damage to those also. And then will go back in on Monday at 8:30 to see the doc/surgeon and set a date.

Shane had a reaction to his acne medication, and it turned into an infection on his face, He will be on antiobitics for 10 days and seen on April 4th. I have to call immediately if these turn painful.....as they do resemble shingles. He is NOT 100% sure they are not shingles as they are on one side of his face and traveling down neck. But because they are not painful...he thinks it is the reaction/infection mentioned above.

I just got home at 5:20, and am exhausted. Going to find some dinner to fix quick and fall over.

Debbie

Sorry to hear about your shoulder Deb. I will be praying for all with problems. HUGS BEV

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Oh my Linda Kay - I'm so sorry to hear it's not one but two fingers. I sure wish I could come and help you out. I guess a HUG will have to do and some prayers to help it heal quickly.

I am almost done with that room on the middle level. I will finish up tomorrow when I get home from work. I am gonna do a 7-10 AM shift so that won't be long. I have to wipe out the oven yet as I cleaned it with some spray. I will dust and scrup on the main level tomorrow also. My DS is bringing my DM down Thurs. morning to get a perm. I sorted through the toy boxes today and really cleaned out. I have a few little dresses for Barbie dolls to add some hook & eyes to and then I am giving them to one of the nurses at work for her little girl. There is all sorts of blow up furniture and accessories too. She should have fun. I have to repair a swing yet tonight and then I'll be done.

Debbie what did you find out today with the house and Shane and you?

Well I will go see what I can talk Tubby into eating for suupper. He has slept most of the afternoon. Will chat later.

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Poor Shane, So hard on a teenage boy.
Debbie so sorry to hear about the shoulder. Well get in there and get it fixed. You will be much better if you do.
LindaKay, Two broken fingers, hope they heal well.

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Oh Debbie I'm so sorry to hear about your shoulder being that messed up but hopefully it hasn't affected the ligaments and tendons. I wish I could be there to help out but the same goes for you a HUG will have to do and prayers for a speedy recovery. Do let us know when surgery is planned. I hope Shane's is only an infection also and not shingles. Shingles usually are very painful. I hope the antibiotics helps immensely.

Bev that is a beautiful picture. I look forward to the flowers blooming. We did have a brief rain storm with pea size hail. It only lasted about 5min. We were in a tornado watch. I'm not sure when it is over.

Lyndonville, NY

Forgot to add, we did get a call from the Housing people while I was out. She left a message that they are still processing the file and it is moving in the right direction. SO, at least we know it isn't in a huge pile somewhere.

More waiting.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie, glad you posted..certainly isn't good news about the shoulder, it's great that they get you in so quickly for tests and doctor appoint ments...you'll have to lie low and not do much for awhile..as for Shane, let's hope it is the reaction to the acne meds and nit shingles...is he able to go to school? Any news when Paul will have his operation..shaking my. Head here, just can't imagine dealing with all of it..you are made of better stuff than I..

LindaKay, guess for the moment you are relieved that there is no surgery, let's hope both fingers heal properly and that they'll not have to reset the bones...not good at all...such a freak accident, guess that's why they call them accidents.. There will be no playing for you in the garden for sometime..

Bev, love the photo..has your weather improved? You never did say how your neighbors doing that you were helping out?

Holly, are you patiently waiting to see if you will be working shortly...imagine you would have to work most weekends? How's hubby with that..is he still employed or retired?

Shirley, how many floors do you have in the house? Is Tubby's on the
main floor, would imagine so..not only do you never stop, now you are giving perks, what a gal...enjoy your visit with son and mom...I'm sure a little girl will be thrilled getting barbie things.

Drats my head is ponding but after what all of you are battling I'd better put my head down in shame...maybe winning the jackpot would relieve some of the pressure lol

Melanie's mom and dad just dropped in on their way to Greg and mel's...last time we spoke she told me she had a few boxes of craft items soooo dropped them off to me, like I need 2 more boxes..think I'll call June before even attempting to go through them invade I keep something....Debbie, there is about 16" x 8" fence and birdhouses on it that if you think you might like it I'll put it aside..one box is ceramics, fired of course...hmmm won't look anymore...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie, thanks for that update, will you call her back to further inquire seeing you didn't get to speak to her directly or will you just leave it as is for now

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Debbie, sorry to hear about your shoulder. Did I miss how you hurt it?
Betty, have you seen the Dr. yet about your heqadaches, and/or high blood pressure?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sad to say NO, LindaKay, top feels like it's going to come off, just took 2 pills..called about my glasses and they told me they would be I. To or row, if after a day or two if I still have it, I'm off to the doctors for sure...worried about you all

Debbie, because we often meet, I'll tell you what is in the boxes...1 is filled with bisque pieces, cute..the other box, remember we used to make crafts with mop heats, well there are 2, several clear platic Christmas shapes that one could fill with goodies, some styro balls, a few wooden pieces I.e. Scissor holder..shall I get rid of them or save for our next meeting

Also see that Darlene left a 3' x 5' piece of linoleum as ann wants to fo a kitchen runner, left a pattern of a rooster, very Italian wine scene invade anne wants to paint it for something to occupy herself..thought of you and you chicks

Off to close my eyes until ann gets here

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, would love the fence & bird house. Don't think I am going to have much time for the other. I have the two totes here to work on with my girls. The bisque pieces might be fun, I love painting ceramics, BUT if you find a good home for them first....pass them along.

I will not call the girl back tomorrow at Housing. She said all she can on the subject, it is still in the works and as long as it hasn't been declined....we keep moving along.

No decision on Pauls eye surgery, he wants to wait til summer. But... After April 1st we may no more and need to move faster....things are changing rapidly at his work.

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

We both retired about 4 years ago at age 55 me with 32 years and Ric with 31. I retired about 6 mo before him. We both picked up seasonal part time jobs that first winter but neither of us have worked since. I will mind giving up all my free time. We both keep pretty busy and I love getting up most mornings and doing pretty much what ever I do or don't feel like. I thought it might be nice to try this job and a little extra $$ will come in handy as we have several projects in the works and I want to head to Bonaire for a dive trip this fall. Ric doesn't care if I work or not we are pretty easy together. He does all the shopping and cooking so it isn't like I take care of him or he needs me to be here at certain times to do things. We really enjoy our time together but we worked for years on different shifts and a lot of OT hours as well. Not to mention years and years of running kids in different directions.

Just checking in,
Got alot done today, but still alot to do. I am going slow and am a little sore, but not to bad.
LK>> so sorry about your fingers, that is insane to break to fingers in a door, I would call corperate and make an offical complaint.

Betty>>> PLEASE got to the doc about the headaches!!!!!!
What is TV Bingo???

Shirley>> Wish you were close by to, I would load you up on Trash to Treasure items and get it out of my yard, and then there is the stained glass, windows, miles of copper pipes and wire, bowling balls, scrap iron, old toys fronm the kids, old bikes, old rabbit hutch, and 300 ceramic molds to be moved,, and then there is the 6 or seven piles of scrap wood that I am going to have to burn!! sigh,,,, There is more, I am telling you I did not realize it was this bad. Think I could go on thet TV show Horders and get someone to clean up for me????

Debbie,>>>> wish I could help you out too. It is a shame that it is all going on at one time. But I have faith that you will be strong enough to pull though it all.

Crissy,>>>> Check for postage went out today!!

Waving at anyone I missed ,,,, (((Judy)) (((Holly))) ((( BEV )))

Will respond to all of you in the morning, just want to update you on Mike and Ann..

Ann said at first their meeting in Toronto was going ok, young doctor explained the process, Mike wasn't completely understanding so Ann took it all in..when that doctor left they thought perhaps they would be back with a team of doctors to prepare Mike for the program...NOT..

The specialist that came in told them that part of the program was coming to the city at least 6 to 8 days a month, some overnight stays..so far the trial meds have helped perhaps 10% of clinic participants, about 20% some slight reduction in tumor size and the rest no change. Doctor went on to say that there can be no signs of chemo in the body in order to start which means at most Mike would have to wait until end of April.....

Doctor bowed his head and said to both of them that it would be unfair to put Mike in this program because his tumors are growing in leap and bounds and that for what remains of his short life he should be at home with his family. Ann said when the doctors left both were numb.

When they got home, Mike broke down for the first time..they sat and talked about funeral arrangements, about what he'd like to see ann do, etc.etc. Which ann said was a good thing...today she went for therapy and when she got home mike had papers out and making notes for her.

She said the therapist asked is she had a best friend and she said mike was her best friend but did say that she visits with me and always leaves with a sense of calmness, guess I help a bit..

We had a nice talk, told her I was as close as the telephone

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

So sorry t o hear this news Betty. please, once again, let them know we are sending lots of thoughts and prayers!

Baton Rouge, LA

Betty - I want to cry... that is so sad.... So glad Ann has YOU... and Mike seems as though he is accepting... My heart goes out to them and you.....

Now you've explained it ... I understand... Kyle's situation sounds as though the specialist needs to have a little talk with this teacher.... Dianne - Yes - Belle has completely stolen our hearts... I suppose she's the child DH and I never had together...
Wow what an experience at 10 years old with the Mumps! I've never known anyone who had them... how scary. You & Betty will have to tell me how you make a cucumber sandwich. I am determined to plant a cuke this weekend... and a zucchini...
Went to nursery today. Work has been so stressful... I've started to have chest pains and little anxiety attacks... not to worry... I'm probably exaggerating... just needed to de-stress...
couldn't buy plants ... just looking and thought about you all... you too Elf because I found a plant called a Gryphon.... LOL
I agree Betty - the animals think they are "helping"... think Elf's kitty was trying to help make the bed... LOL... Belle seems to want to please so I think she is catching on...
Deb... hope that rash gets under control soon... for the life of me I can't remember how you injured your shoulder... You poor thing.... wish I could come get you and bring you down here to sit in the sunshine...

Hugs Laura & Holly... Laura - what are the kids up to? Good luck Holly.. the Lowes job sounds wonderful... I would enjoy that !

Bev - as always LOVE to see your beautiful daylilies.....

LK - hope your finger heals quickly... and you don't miss a beat in visiting us ! I'm selfish Huh! Just worried about you typing on DG... LOL

Thunder - how is DS?

Hugs All,

Mary

PS: Betty - I don't suppose you've received a little package from me?

Lyndonville, NY

((((Betty, Ann & Mike))))) My gosh, so does not seem fair. I had that lump in my throat of when the doctors told me the exact same about Mom...and then I had to tell her. So glad she has you close by.

Mary, My shoulder was hurt over the summer (for the second time) by throwing a frisbee and playing with the dog. I thought it had healed well enough, and then I was in DDs car and reached into the back seat for my bag. Ummmm...ouch. Felt the entire shoulder just scream and I couldn't move. While I was attempting to get into doctors was when I broke my foot. The night I went for my broken foot, I told her about my shoulder....and she gave me a shot in the bursa sack in the shoulder to help. Well, this time it didn't help....and being on crutches those weeks only made it worse...then weeks without a car. SO, it festered as they say.

Dr. Megan told me "you must have one strong pain threshold, we get men in here crumbling from this injury". Not so thrilled with this at all. I do not care how hot Dr. Mike is...I am not happy.

Meant to say Mary, I just love that picture of Belle....she looks like she is saying "CHEEESE" I am smiling...hows this? lol

Shane is home, had his meds...did face wash...and is exhausted. Praying it kicks in and he feels better.

THink I might turn in soon..... SNOW tomorrow! UGH!

Debbie

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - more prayers being said for Ann & Mike....... how blessed that Ann has you to bring her peaceful times......
