I went to the older post in my dmail, I couldn't find your work email anywhere, I hope you get my addy from the dmail I sent
you, you have a great day, it's really warm here this morning but raining
Elizabeth
Debra, boxes from you are always great!!I won't be able to mail any boxes out until after the 13th( next payday) :o(. The viburnum that I told you about is budding out good. I'm wondering if I should go ahead and seperate the sucker plant from the original, and just leave them in the ground until I mail, so it won't shock it so much. Let me know what you think. I'll send sent some serviceberry cuttings too and see what else I can come up with.
Elizabeth, I did enjoy having my grand-daughter visit. She just left a little while ago because she had a dentist appointment. I need to bring some brugs up from the basement too, but I am running outta room.
Dee
Charlene, mules are very pretty, your Peony is Gorgeous, my ? is did you buy any more mules at the show?
Dee, what a treat having you & Charlene on at the same time, reminds me of the good ole days, tommorrow, I will start bringing my Brugs up two at a time, I am going to use the GH, right now I have other things in there that have to be taken

i'm going to the tulip festival next month,in orange city,ia

retta
Evening all, very pretty peony, and I want to know if you bought any more mules too, Charleen.
Came home sick today, both ends terrible stuff, just woke up, and feel a hundred percent better. Back still hurts from too uch work, but I took aleve..
sure am glad I only have three brugs outside, getting down to 34 tonight.
then it is smooth sailing temp wise until I am complaing about the heat.
tulips shows are all this weekend at all the places that advertise their shows, we might go to the Botanical Gardens it is the closet one.
Dee do not worry about sending me anything right now, lets wait until I can actually see how my new backyard design is going to be.
Retta, I loved the things you sent, Thank You!
Debra, I hope that doesn't stay with you very long, about a week & a half ago we were all sick in this house, I am so glad we're over it, it's good to see you, well today I got my GH mostly cleaned out, I will give it a couple days, just to see how the weather is going, before I pack it full, I do have an electric heater & a heavy duty extention cord, I did bring a couple
big one's up, I put them in front of the window, I am so glad almost all the windows in the house are done, I have 8 more
payments till the insulation is paid off, if the crosses I posted in my kitchen window get any bigger, I will have to transplant
them, have a good night, I am headed to bed
Elizabeth
debra,so sorry you're ill,i hate that,being sick.
glad your package arrive safe and hope in good condition.
i have been working on little things for xmas gifts.not sewing to much as the weather

i don't think i'm going to need surgery on my eye,it seems to be getting better, just cloudy now.

retta
I got Brugs coming up from last years roots I left in ground. Hooray for me. Noe I can really share the rooted ones.
No, Can't buy any more mules or I'll have to find a new pasture for them and me???? That's what I'm told anyway, but he fibbs sometimes. ☺ But I really don't need any new critters.
My new puppy got one more set of shots and he will be thru til next year. Kaluha is growing and really a pretty boy.
Retta, I hope you don't need eye surgery, I know you'll be out in your flower beds tommorrow, it rained all day yesterday so
I couldn't turn the soil in my Brug bed, but today it's sunshine, I should be able to do that this evening
Charlene, you have some pretty mules already, those puppies are adorable, I am glad you can leave Brugs in the ground, they should be huge this Summer, this week end I will be using my GH, hopefully the cold night's are over with, so many of my small Brugs really need natural light, have a great day
Elizabeth
Everyone is getting their much needed spring rains but us. Please pray for gentle rainshowers to come our way. We are having a lot of wild fires and some houses have been destroyed. Lots of grass fires and the wind is really making it tough to keep them out. Please send us some rain!
Debra, sorry to hear that you are sick.Hope you are feeling better soon.I will hold off on sending any plants your way, until you are ready.
Elizabeth, I know you are looking forward to filling the greenhouse. It is a wonderful one, too! I think I am going to start watching for a bargain on one, which is the only way I could get one, now a days..lol
Charleen, that is a beautiful peony. I love the color! You ask me once if I sent it to you.I can tell you now, that I didn't.I've never had one that color.
Retta, I'm glad that your eyes are doing better, and am keeping my fingers cross that you won't have to have the surgery. Sure wish it was time to harden off the plants that I have been growing under the lights. They are getting big! Most of them are perrenials that "will bloom the first year, if started early"....so I did, not thinking how big they would be before it was time to plant them...lol
Crit, praying for April showers, for you!
Got up early and did my laundry and housework, so I can spend the day outside.Gonna top some beds off with manure, and put some in the brug holes that are just waiting, then work on transplanting a couple suprises that
are popping up from the old beds that were full of weeds, when we moved in last spring. A pair of bluebirds are checking out one of the new boxes! It's gonna be a great day. Enjoy, everyone!
Dee
Dee, is your Black Banana coming up yet?? I'm worried about mine. I sure don't see it.
crit, sending you prayers, I sure hope you get rain soon
Dee, Thank you, I do like my GH esp. when I can use it instead of light's for my Brugs, oh I think I have that fainting sofa
sold, I had to drop down on the price some, but it's all good, my booth has done well, I am so glad, what sells I won't have to move
Charlene, my bananas I left in the ground, I don't think they made it either, I don't see any green at all. well have a great day
Elizabeth
Thanks for all the rain prayers. Weatherman just said we are 4" behind in rainfall for the year already!
Got a great box from Debra, today. She sent so many nice plants. Thanks, a bunch Debra!
Charleen, we ended up digging the black banana and storing it in the basement, but no, I see no signs of leaves yet.I did leave musa basjoo in the ground...no sign of growth there either.
Elizabeth, keeping my fingers crossed, that you sell the fainting couch...love those things!
Dee
Dee, good to see you. I went outside awhile ago, dug up my Brug beds, the next couple days, I will get the manure from Lowes, then they'll be ready to plant, Sunday it's suppose to be 81 degrees, you know I'll be working in the yard, putting
the Brugs in the GH
Debra does send nice plants, Congratulation, now when you plant everything, I want to see, by this week end I bet all your pretty trees will be blooming, all my roses have their leaves, my Lilac is getting it's leaves, tommorrow afternoon, I am rearranging, my booth, I am putting 20% off on my china cabinet for one week, just to see if that helps sell things
I am also taking a photo of the jeep over there, trying to sell it also, I have had good luck with my booth, the nice thing about that I don't have to sit over there, I used to have yard sales here, I am so glad I have the booth
Elizabeth
Elizabeth I am so happy for you that you are selling things.. I sure wish I could have a GARAGE sale here.. LOL
Dee, I am glad your box made it safe, now if Elizabeths' makes it in ONE piece I will be very happy. It is VERY tall.
My bananas stayed inside and all are starting to put out new leaves. I am very happy with that. Spent the evening untangling vines from plants, and taking things outside that needed to be out now. *whew* Sure can't wait until Sunday to have son move the heavy stuff. Saturday my almost 40 yr old daughter is taking me to an aboreatum affair that I have always wanted to visit. It is in Belle Plaine and one of the Dixie Chick gals bought it. I hope I get to meet her, she needs volunteers and staff.
Charleen, I have a brug for you, hope you don't mind, it is a root ball with a short stem, will try to get it out to you this next monday.
Hugs and all...
Debra
wow ;););) i just planted the seeds for moon garden and they are sprouting already.
never had luck with seeds before.
hope every one is well.
retta
Debra, I appreciate it. I got something I want to send you and your sister from Charley....
Debra, you & I have a DD close to the same age, you are so sweet sharing Brugs, I am sure it will be fine, I have a helper coming next week to help me get most of the Brugs out, it's great to have help
Retta, that's really good, the only seeds I plant is when they can go directly in the ground, that's next week, have a great day everyone, time to get outside, the sun is out it's a beautiful morning
Hugs
Elizabeth
Debra, the chrub got here, you weren't kidding, it's almost a tree already, I was shocked when that box came, you did a great job packing it, I have a spot out front for it, my GH is almost full, I broke a couple limbs off the big Brugs, I stuck the broke part in the ground, almost all my Brug beds are ready, I turned the dirt a couple times yesterday, I was really surprized how easy it was, now to go to lowes to get the manure I need, tommorrow I will get the photo of the GH, it's so nice to see green in there
Dee I hope you see this, The fainting couch sold, it was gone today when I went over to take some more stuff over there, I also took a flyer with a photo of the Jeep, I want to sell, it was top of the line in 1996
Elizabeth
That's great Elizabeth! Sounds like your booth IS doing good! That Debra, does pack a mean box, doesn't she?!
I spent a good bit of the day working in the flower beds trying to pull out grass that has crept in over the years I guess. I noticed that there were flowers coming up out in the grass, so I tried widening the beds outside of those areas, to the way, I think that they used to be.I also turned over dirt and chopped in manure. Got my little resin waterfall out to check for leaks and it does have one this year...Now to find it..The birds and chipmunks love that little waterfall.
Tomorrow, if it's not raining, I'll work on the front bed.Doesn't it feel good to be outside again?
hello everyone,
wanted to get out today and make a bed for the brugs and flowers that need to be planted, but its been raining all day,
we need the rain but wish it would stop.
question--do i need to add manure to brugs when i plant them out side?if so how much?
i haven't used that in years, just miracle grow.
and do they need full sun or part-sun.
retta
Hi Retta, If I were you, I would plant my brugs in Morning sun and afternoon shade, which I what I have best luck with, however this year I may have to find another fence to use, since I just found out the new neighbors to the south of me plan on cutting down all the trees and high bridal wreath shrubs that give me the shade. I freaked out so bad, I started diggining up my virginia blue bells that went to their side of the fence under the shrubs. I guess I will make my own shade line with shrubs ad small understory trees and convince hubby to make that bed wider, now. He thinks I am freaking out for nothing, the tall elm tree in the middle of our back yard alley fence line gives good shade .. I just am so freaked out. Oh well.. anyway I am glad you three got your brugs in one piece, Charleen and Ken next. It is not going lower than 45 here for lows now so have been taking things out a few at a time. Hubby hauled up two very heavy ceramic tubs of Lavender and Alba moon vines I wintered over, and the snowqueen hibiscus.
I planted miss bhavin out in the bean patch since it has manure in it, but have to move it when he digs that up. He put in his potatoe patch tonight.
North fence is full sun, thinking the dog run and pear tree area that gets sun in am and shade in pm will work for about maybe 15 brugs, but I have about 60 . *sigh*
Dee, Retta & Debra
it's so great to see everyone, my Hubby got me some manure, tommorrow I'll mix it in, my GH is packed, it's so great to be outside for a change, I cleaned my basement, after DD helped me get out some brug's tommorrow I have to pot up some
I have my heater handy just in case, if my booth keeps doing well, I will have to go to some auctions, to keep it interesting
I really like doing that, my Sepi has been my constant companion, for the last few day, I am so glad she's fixed, no more of that loud noise from her, she runs through the house like a kitten.
Dee you would not believe how big Max is that critter is 14 lbs & still growing
Debra, that can be very aggrivating, I would be freaked out to, at the new house the neighbor's trees have to be trimmed
they hang over on our side, big dead limbs, that could fall on the kids when they're playing in the yard, so they have to go
before we move in, I am planting all my Brugs here then when we move, I'll transplant them
Elizabeth
I LOVE that green house. I have an idea about the dog run. I am thinking a HOOP house over the existing chain link fence. what do you think?
It hailed here, then rained not once but twice, I was running around with tubs and buckets to catch the over flow on the front porch cuz Joe hasn't cleaned the gutters out, so I grabbed as much rain water as possible. PV is outside now.. so is Dola.. all the little pots and seed cups and trays are out. Just in time for rain. YAY!
Theses are still inside for now..
Debra
Thank you, you can make a hoop house for under $100.00, using pvc pipes, 2X6's & 6 ml plastic & clamps, I love your plants, they're so pretty, I want to Thank again for Cherub, I still can't get over how it got here in perfection condition
you really know how to Pack Girl, it's raining out right now, of course it would do that, since I have manure to put in the soil
oh well, I'll just clean house, have a great day don't work to hard
Elizabeth
started the day off in the garden, then got cleaned up and went to the belle plaine arboreatum for concerts, art and nature.. came home and worked in the garden again, got the water garden fixed up. YAY!
Debra
good morning busy bee, it rained most of the day yesterday, I had put manure on the dirt, just hadn't mixed it in, so maybe the rain leached it in the soil, this morning started out with sunshine, it's going to be a beautiful day, it's always good when you get something finished, at the other house, I can have a nice water feature, there's enough room, you know I want to see photo's when you have the time, Hey I did get my basement looking really good, I will take photo's of course
have a great day
Elizabeth
hello everyone,
been busy out in the yard,
i have the plants outside now, planted strwberrys in a big box.
next i plant the moonflowers that are out growing the cells i planted them in,roots coming out the bottom.
i did not realize how big they got.guess i'll plant the extras around the yard and use as ground cover.
or maybe give them to a neighbor.
well gotta get busy.
love you all
retta
Retta
you gotta love this weather, I have manure to mix in my soil for my Brug beds, my peach tree is getting ready to Bloom, I didn't plant it the Squirells did, almost all the time I have about 10 of them planting in my yard, they live in the tree by the back yard, I can't believe how green my grass is getting, I am so tempted to start planting the Brugs, I have to wait till I get the manure mixed in the soil, the ground is still wet from the rain yesterday, with the warm weather today hopefully I can get that done this evening, I am going to grill steaks after while
Hugs, love you to
Elizabeth
well at least you have grass,we have nothing but weeds.
we planted grass seed but it didn't grow.to shady.
we did get some seed that will grow in the shade, going to get that going to,
just as soon as i get everything else planted.
the brugs and plumeria are out side now and loving the sun.still in containers,
but will get them planted soon.its been so hot we had to turn the air on.
mobile homes hold the heat during the summer and cold during the winter.
if i wasn't so darn old,i would sell out and buy a house.lol
retta
My son came over today and almost everything is outside, except for trades. What a mess down here, dirt everywhere.. ugh.
