Mary, Not sure how much asparagus you will get from one plant. It does take awhile to develop an asparagus bed. I don't remember how many plants I started out with at least five maybe a few more. They like to be heavily mulched and yes you do cut of the asparagus spike and the plant will put up more. We cut the spikes as they appear over several weeks and then we stop harvesting and let the new spikes grow. If I remember right when we first started the bed we didn't harvest any asparagus for the first few years just let the plants grow.
Check out Texas WaterLilies on line they have some very nice ones. There was a Co-op just recently I got several water lilies and a couple of water lotus.
Mud Elf, You will have such a good time at the Plant Swap they are so much fun. Your gnome garden looks great.
Shirley, Ric use to smoke in bed till he fell asleep and burned several holes in the sheets. I really put my foot down then. Men can be so stubborn sometimes. Make sure you have a working smoke detector in that room.
Betty, I too, think I forgot to tell you what a cute frog that is. Just love it.
Came home from the BD Party yesterday and took a nap so now here it is the middle of the night and I'm wide awake. I have two interviews set up for the job this week. One this morning with HR and one on Wednesday with the Gardening Dept manager.
Best/Worse and What did I learn today-visit with friends!
Morning all, coffee is in!
Rushing a bit this morning so will just say hi wand will respomd sheen I get to the office...
Yikes, snowing lightly.....hmmmmm what can I say!
Goodmorning to all .
Coffee is good.
Running to get kids to school be back in a bit.
Guess who is back..lol. Got a bit more done in shorter amount od time so now I can play for a bit!
Yikes Shirley, Tubby could have easily broken a hip...oh oh smoking in bed is so dangerous and especially seeing he's so I'll and could nod off at any time...but then you know that and no need for me to tell you so..just worried about you both perishing in a fire!
Laura, knew you would have a great time, so what new purchases will you have to get for the trailer that you missed on this your maiden voyage? I will start to look for things for my weekend outings as well, still have a few months as it will still be freezing intil mid June but would like to be prepared....any photo's to share?
Darts, newscaster just said winter conditions return mid week!!! Me no like...lol
Mary, saw how much our nurseries charge for lillies and can't figure it out..lots of lilies in our region, bet if you research you might find some locally and would serve as a Sunday outing!
For this of you with lined ponds, do you add lilies? I haven't to date added much to the pond as I love the clear water feature ..perhaps in the secondary pond I could try.
Susan, my heart breaks for you, you've worked so hard these past weeks getting your home in order and not have a great turnout...do you have confidence in your real estate agent? Oh well, look at how pretty it is for you..good Lord telling you that it's just not the right time, soon it will come!
Goodness Holly, you'll sleep in this morning for sure..look at the time you were posting...glad the celebrations wen't well
LindaKay, you are back today right? Tell us how it went? Is your dad now comfortable in his new digs? All filled in with family news..know you are thrilled to be back in warm weather!
Kris, love the photo...what a cute little elf that lives in your garden..you can send her my way..glad you had a painless day.
Debbie how is the headache?
Judy, haven't forgotten you my friend..time to get a move on but will gab when I get to work...
Have to drop into Canadian tire as the young man who helped put my bike in the vehicle left his voice monitor for the company in my truck so want to drop it off on my way to work...looks as though at some point we've had ice pellets and roads could be icy...giving myself extra time makes for a less stressful drive!
Laura, hope you take today to rest or you'll not be able to move again....with kids in school you should be able to do so..ok. Maybe sewing for 1/2 hour so..
Barb, what are you and Norm up to today?
Morning All!
Well I'm up but Tubby is still sleeping so will be very quite. He did sleep though the night and no more incidents. Thank goodness.
Holly good luck with those interviews, you will do fine I can feel it in my bones.
Betty what darling pictures. Can you tell us how you made the frog? I can see that the body is a flower pot, glued to a stone but what is the rest?
Susan it will be okay, the right person will come along and appreciate everything you guys have done. I had a terrible time when I tried to sell my house in town. The guy had it for almost a year and did nothing so I finally got mad and changed realtors and he had it sold in a month. The first one had someone else call and try to buy it for 35,000. I told him I'd burn it before I gave it away. I don't think he knew I knew that he buys up property to rent. what a dummy, any way I would never give him a reference unless it was a really bad one. He called Tubby afterwards and said he didn't know I was serious about selling it. What a lie! It was quite an experience. I learned alot. Realtors reminds me of car salesman, they lie out the side of their mouths most of the time. I don't know how the economy is there, but things don't move real fast here. Just hang in there cuz the right person will come along and it will make it all worth wild.
Thanks for letting me know what RU stands for. It sounds like a lot of fun. They probably have around here somewhere, but I really don't have time to go. Now I could make time for a flea market as I just love them. There is an Antique place about 20 min. away that will be having one. They always have one in the fall that I go to, but this year my one sis and I hope to go to the one in the spring. Sometimes I can find alot of stuff and others not. I do get alot of good ideas walking around.
Will go get another cup of coffee and then think about getting dressed for the day. It looks quite overcast today. The sun is hiding right now, so I'm hoping for a dry day.The grass and weeds are getting greener out there. I don't want any of that snow you have up north though we;ve have gotten it into April already. YUCK!
Betty drive careful as I know you will. Everyone have a wonderful day and don't over due. Chat later!
Good morning all. Thanks for the coffee ladies. It hits the spot this morning. It is gray and dreary here and we are looking at 3-5 inches of snow later today. I'm NOT a happy camper. We had a beautiful day on Friday with temps hitting the high 50's and I actuallty had doors open and the fresh air was so nice in the house. Now we are all buttoned up again.
Norm has today off andis going to do nothing unless he wants to. He is working 10 hours days the next 6 in a row so I want him to rest. That means a quiet day for me as well so I think I will work on handwork. I have the binding to sew down on my BC quilt and a binding to make and then sew on and down on a baby quilt too. So I'll sew for a while and rest the hands for a while and then do it again...
Be back in a minute.....
Had a phone call about early dismissal for the schools so may be getting the boys for a while. They get dismissed but Mom doesn't!!! She actually works for the school district (consists of several towns and only ours is getting out early) and unless the whole district has early dismissal she has to stay. It's great having us not too far from the school and the boys can come here.
So it looks like Papa better do his resting this morning!!!!
We had a very enjoyable dinner with our son yesterday. He works in Vermont at a ski area and drives one of those HUGE machines that grooms the trails. He works all night and then sleeps all day so we don't get to see much of him in the winter. He had the whole weekend off this time so we were grateful to be able to see him.
Got together with my quilting friends on Saturday to make our block of the month. I goofed up and cut a piece wrong so now I have to wait until Tuesday to go to the shop and get another piece of material. That's what I get for gabbing and not paying close attention to what I was doing.... So now I'll check three times before cutting!!!!!!
Off to make some cookies for the boys. Waving to all~~~~~ and hope you all have a great day...
Oh, meant to add that I hope LK's finger is okay and doesn't need surgery....I'll be saying a prayer LK...
Got to work without a hitch, ran into freezing rain, then rain and snow..great mixture but doubt it will amount to much!
Holly meant to wish you luck, am sure if they are giving you 2 interviews then you've all but got the job..you'll probably purchase more plants than what you earn $$ wise!
Mary, gorgeous young ladies, and look at Belle, omg how she's grown.
What happened to Lindakay, went back in the thread to check things out and no could find, will have to go in search of info.
Shirley, yes it is a pot..I usually attach it to a cement rhubbarb leaf that I make but lordy it would cost far too much to ship so instead I cut a piece of wood, chipped the edges and painted it..very primitive but that's the way it is suppose to look..wooden balls for the eyes, cording for the arms..if you'd like could forward the pattern and instructions.
Glad Tubby has no ill effects after his fall.
Barb, is it snowing enough for them to close the schools or it is due to freezing rain? There, just when you had your day all planned...
Anxious to see a photo of the quilt once binding is on,you are keeping me in suspense..
About checking things out 3 times before cutting, not a bad idea at all..Pat had a few pieces of material for blocks on the Spirit of the Woodlands quilt that she gave me..the 4 triangles that had fish on them have the fishes all in opposite directions because of cutting..I'm wondering if I can perhaps 1/2 them and reconfigure so it will work, hate the idea of throwing them away when woodland fabric is so hard to come by...my order from internet has not yet arrived...I'm getting anxious to see if they are true to color from website.
Judy, you've done so much work on your gardens last fall and this spring that now you'll be able to think out how you want to design them and what to plant. What theme are you going for? i.e. english garden, manicured garden, rock garden, fern garden...did I hit one?
Must have been a difficult day for with the Memorial Service .. sending warm hugs..
Morning! More than snowing here - so much for the WLs forecasting rain - it is rain alright 'white rain'. DH will just have to shoulder the blame for this weather he put 2 of our summer chairs outside on the deck yesterday. Woke him up to tell him earlier on that the weather was all his fault.
Laura I am so glad you had a good time camping and the weather cooperated with you.
Barb how early would early closing be for the school? Here they tend to cancel the buses in the am if they are worried about weather in the afternoon. When I was in HS many a time my parents put up 4 or 5 kids from school because the bus could not get them home. Most days I walked - it was a little over a mile because I hated riding on the bus.
Holly good luck at your interviews!
Kris aren't you and your DGD going to have fun at the RU? Bet you have a blast and get to meet alot of neat DGers.
Dogs are giving their alarm bark best go and check it out.
Dianne
Dianne, with any luck it will melt by the weekend...think we were all a bit excited about it being the first day of spring!
Very rarely here as well Dianne do the schools close unless of course there is a heating problem, buses do get called out early though.
Wayne is here from our Toronto office doing some telephone assessments and he cannot for the life of him imagine why we'd want to live in the north country..lol Ask me that come late Spring to the end of Fall...God's country I call it!
Did you know that July this year has 5 weekends and it happens rarely, think the man who told me this said every 129 years...so lookout July, we'll all be enjoying that extra weekend!
Morning everyone! I am back home, but with a broken finger. I slammed it in door of the motel room, on my way to Michigan. I went to the ER when I got there, and the x-ray proved it was broken. Now that I am back home, I go to the specialist tomorrow. Praying I don't have to have surgery, but the ER Dr, seems to think it is a small clean break.
Hope everyone is doing well. I will go back and read what I missed later.
Betty, so sorry I could not meet you? With all the friends and family coming to visit, I was so busy every day! Dad is setlled in, he is glad there is no snow there! It is cool, but not bad.
Judy I was thinking about you all day yesterday!
Glad you got to work Actually, I was thinking about a lot of people yesterday as I was figuring out where to put some plants, I have no mo room!
Shirley I'm glad you got him upright in bed!
Betty glad you got to work ok!!
I think I'm going to get some work done myself, plus one of the girls in the office just found out she's pregnant and she is absolutely elated. When she married her husband almost 5 years ago he had full custody of 3 children of his own and she stepped in and they don't think of her as their step-mom, but real mom instead. She told the kids on Saturday and they are all very very happy.
LindaKay, sorry to hear you had an accident, must have been painful for you the entire time you've been away...Loved the photo of you and Deejay..great looking women! Nothing like a vacation to make you smile!
Crissy, you'll just have to make more gardens..one can never have too many plants. Isn't that wonderful that your co-worker is pregnant, will it mean you have to take on more duties??? or will they hire someone for maternity leave. Glad the children think of her more like a mom than step-mom BUT that sometimes changes as they become teens..
Thunder, sending an SOS ... where are you girl??? company gone home now?
company still here for a few more days....computer is having problems :( had to dig out the laptop and charge....now trying to catch up!!
Mary, there is a fern that is an asparagus fern.....I have lots growing wild in my yard, and in the field across the street...
baby crying got to go...
Betty what a lovely home you have.
I think the first interview went very well. There are a lot of applicants for the jobs but I was told that a lot of them are really looking for more permanent work. Where as I am really only looking for a little seasonal job not really sure I would want a permanent part time slot.
LindaKay, Sorry about the broken finger hope it heals well for you and doesn't need any thing more done to it.
Nope, her work has nothing to do with mine. The other staff attorneys will have to take up the slack, the State won't hire someone for the short amount of time she'll be gone. She's a great mom, their mom is all strung out on drugs and in and out of jail all the time so they don't have much contact with her.
And Dave won't let me build more beds, so I'm done until I start replacing this with that and what-not. Don't know what to do with David's plants, I hate to see them go but I don't have room for them. I think I have someone here at work who will take some things, but not a lot.
Thank you Holly, it's quite a modest home but it's home to me! Reflect my personality..lol..I'm sure you are just what they are looking for! Will you hear by the weekend?
Crissy, keep forgetting that maternity leave isn't very long for you all, here it's 1 year so pretty well all the time a staff member has to be replaced.
Wish I was closer, I'd swoop in and pick them up..
I am having to do a major clean up of my yard and decks, the insurance company came by to take pictures and said I have too much junk to close to the house and will be back in 1 week to do a re-check. If it is not all cleaned up by then then they will cancel my insurance!! I have never heard of this before. Can they do this???
Oh Betty I sure hope this peasoup fog is not in your area. I can't even see across the lake. Would certainly make for a nerve wracking drive home and I sure don't want that for you.
LOL at your 'cityboy' co - worker! Bet he doesn't realize how short a time a commute we all have out in the boonies. When we finally moved to the farm fulltime my DH's commute of 30 km only took him 20 min max while in Toronto he did a 12km commute in 45 - 60 min on a good day.People on his staff in Kingston thought he was crazy to make that LONG commute. We still chuckle about that!
LK good luck at the doc's tomorrow - sure hope everything is fine and dandy with your finger. I thought you were only staying in Michigan overnight - duh!! So glad you got to visit all your relatives, I miss that so much.
Where's Debbie today? Hope things are OK with her.
Crissy can Dave not be tricked into thinking a new flower bed was HIS idea? Shhhhh don't tell my DH but I do that to him all the time.
On Shirley that Tubby sure gave you a scare. Men!!! Bet he didn't want to bother you. So glad he wasn't hurt nor you too when you helped him back into bed. Do you have someone help you put him in bed at night?
DH wanted peanut butter cookies and horrors of horrors I have no brown sugar. Gasp!!! When he goes into Kingston tomorrow for his Physio
he'll have to pick some up. It is over a $1.00 a bag cheaper in Kingston than out here. Milk is almost $2.00 cheaper for 4l in town. We try to buy our staples when we have to go in town - if I am desperate I will go to the Foodland here in the village. If there wasn't a LCBO outlet at the Foodland they would have no business until tourist season started.
Judy when does Jake wrestle again? I had a friend who coached HS wrestling - all 125 lb of him. At one match he got so excited at the end he ran out and lifted his 250lb star right off of the floor. What a sight!!
Kris, when is it you see the doc again. Sure hope the itchies have left for good.
Shirley my mam also used to say Sleep tight and don't let the Bed Bugs bite also. Guess new moms might be having to say that now given the bed bug epidemic going on across US and Canada.
Need to go do something constructive here as I have fritzed the day away so far.
Dianne
Yes Kris they can and they will! Sure hope they told you exactly what needed to be moved so you could zero in on that first.
Dianne
Dianne, no fog right now, let's hope for the best! And yes, the bumper to bumper traffic just isn't my thing..I'd much prefer a few bad days of driving than day to day traffic one gets in the city! I am finding that our Foodtown is starting to be as competitive as the larger stores..in fact, our small store as of Friday is now open 24/7 just like the big towns..
Been a few days since we've heard from Debbie, wondering if she's ok as well!
Kris, they have so many rules, regulations that if you ever have to put in a claim you just don't know if they'll pay up..think I'd do what Dianne suggested, get specifics on what exactly they want done so it's not logged on your record so they have an excuse should something happen
Kris, I had a friend a few years ago build thier own home, andin the process, aks the insurance compnay to come and give them an estimate for home owners insurance! When they showed up, there was still building supplies, like piles of cut lumber, and bricks from the house, and stuff around the house, and they were told they same thing. Move it or else.
I wrote this once already and when I went back to check something it went bye bye. Okay I'll start over and hopefully it won't happen again. We just got back from the appts. today. Tubby did dialysis and then we went and talked to the cancer Dr. and he got his dose of chemo. Tubby's labs showed that the chemo was bringing his protein level down, almost a thousand points and his light chains have improved greatly. So this is good and we will continue with all of that. We then had to go get his antibiotics and I'll make supper here shortly. We will have leftovers as there is quite a variety to choose from.
Crissy sometimes you just have to stop with the flower beds. I know it's hard but now you can sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor. I have a bunch of Jacob's ladder to move. I will contain the root system this time so I don't have to do it again. I did pick up some daylilies when I was out today. I would like to put some bleeding hearts in the one shady area.
LindaKay what did you find out about your finger? It makes mine hurt just thinking about it. What finger did you hurt? Is it on the hand you use most? Hopefully it will heal soon and no surgery will be required.
Good luck! I love asparagus ferns in my containers, I didn't know they would grow wild. I bet they are pretty. Do they get very tall when they grow like that?
Barb did you and Norm get much rest today with the kids and how long did you have them? I bet it's fun to be able to help and have them so close. Did you get much snow? We can sure do without that stuff and I'm sure you feel the same way.
Mary that was a darling picture of Belle and the girls. I love my pictures of my animals.
Betty did you make it home safely from work and did the roads clear a bit for ya?
Kris those darn insurance co. can do just about anyting they want and get away with it. They have been known to drop a person like a hot potato for no reason at all. I'd find out exactly what they want so it will all be good when they come back. Was it a surprise visit or time for renewal? Knock on wood ours has never done that, but some ins. co. are only as good as your ins. rep. They are suppose to work for you and not the other way around. Good luck!
That is all the news I know for now. have a great evening and sweet dreams incase I don't get back this evening. Oh I did get the wood for the windows and battery in the truck. Now if the weather improves it will be great, but they say a chilly week.
Shirley
Shirley, glad to hear all those numbers for tubby are improving! Keep up the great job Tubby!
I broke the index on my right hand, and will learn more tomorrow afternoon. Yes, I am right handed, and this broken finger makes everything difficult.
LindaKay my heart goes out to ya, I know what you mean. It's one thing when it's on less dominate hand but that finger and hand is awful. Just rememger to laugh alot when you are trying to do things, like pulling up your drawers or brush the teeth and go potty. OH MY!
Well Tubby wouldn't eat anything and I just had a cold meatloaf sandwich and so I am off to bed. I'll get up early and get busy then. I'll make up for time lost today. I'll have to put the ATV away tomorrow if it is to get colder and wait for the next warm spell.
Take care all and again sweet dreams!
Oohh that's great news regarding Tubby..nothing worse than going through everything and it not be helping...bet he skilled ...just for being a good boy I'll have to go in search of the joke of the day for him!
I went out for Chinese at lunch and wasn't hungry so nothing for me except maybe a sandwich...often I go back in time, make myself a cup of tea, a couple of jam sandwiches which I dunk into the hot tea...sounds yucky doesn't it, but not..something I used to do with grandpa every night when I was a little girl.
Kyle just dropped in for a visit, now that he has his bike out i'll see him more often! Lordy that boy can talk. He was telling me that his english teacher does't want him using his computer in class for his assignments, this isn't pleasing him at all....am sure it won't come to pass because it's part of his aspirer syndrome aid, visual work makes things easier for him!
This afternoon my cousin/SIL 's stepdaughter dropped in with a "hi" seems like Linda is considering not going with us on our road trip in may both because all her financial resources are going to put new windows in the house but Tracey told me not to take no for an answer and only if linda's knees are acting up when we leave should I count her out. Says mothers day is just around the corner and linda's birthday so the kids will provide her with $$$ for traveling! She's so much fun to travel with...
LindaKay, there is an app on the iPad that you just speak and it types...that might be nice for you...sure hope you don't need surgery.
Barb, you card for ann arrived today. If I remember correctly they were going to Toronto today for an interview to see if mike could be a candidate for a special medication testing that I guess they do on terminal patients...if all is well, she will be over for t.v. Bingo tomorrow night and I'll get an update
Wish we would hear from Debbie, she said that the company who works on their behalf gives Monday updates...just would like to know she's ok!
Monday night is my lazy night...already had a nap, looking at the clock and thinking of calling it a night!
Night/night Shirley and tubby..always tomorrow to get all that work done...I'm at my best at 5am...
I am here, late but here.
NO news yet again today. I will call them first thing in the morning. This is two weeks with no news.
I have had a rotten couple days, and am just worn out. My stomach is very rumbly tonight. I know it is nerves of going to the orthopedic tomorrow. I don't care how drop dead georgeous he is...Not up for this.
No worries, all is pretty much Ok, just in a slump....need some warm weather and sunshine!
Debbie
Debbie - COME visit me ! I have plenty of both.... Wish I could bottle & send your way !
Hello To All !
Thanks Shirley& Betty re: Pic... I thought Belle looked like those cartoon dogs with the Huge Smiles... LOL....
Betty - Nothing like comfort food re: Jam sandwiches. Especially those tied to memories. Snapping green beans reminds me of Mom... Wonder if Kyle's teacher is trying to make him reach beyond his comfort zone...
LK - wow what a pain in the booty... the finger on your right hand... Hope everything is okay when you get it checked out...
Dianne - SO funny people's perspective... Some folks I work with think I live far off from work....but I feel if I lived close to work I would feel I never left :o) so nice to be far away so can forget about the job on the weekends.....
Crissy - sounds like I have a bit in common with your co - worker... so glad she has a friend in you... if they do start to give her problems in teen years... you'll be strong for her... but they'll probably be fine. I have to admit... many of DSD's problems have been that their bio-Mom would tell them to treat me wrong.... so isn't really their fault....they're confused in their loyalties....
Thunder... Yes - we have the asparagus fern as well..... it's coming back nicely... If I get a chance ... I'll take a pic of both this weekend and post... Did your DS finish "the book" / like "the book"... LOL :) I hope so !
Okay worried I'll lose this post so sending... sorry if I've forgotten anything and (((HUGS)))
Mary
Shirley - my goodness - just read about what happened on the 20th - Tubby trying to get something off the floor! Good thing you heard him!
Betty - thank you for your words re: our home sale. You too, Mary - thank you both
LK - sorry to hear about your painful broken finger...... youch!
Holly - good luck on getting the part time work ^_^
Sure I've missed someone, but only in "typing", not in thoughts - love you all!!
Morning, so dark outside, guess that's what happens when you get up in the middle of the night..
Mary perhaps that is the case witty Kyle and the computer but it would not be in his best interest as per his specialist and weekly reports from the teacher who meets with him once a week on outings that the autism society provides as a guidance tool! Still amazes me how brilliant he is and yet has these stumbling blocks..
Weather doesn't come on for another 1/2 hour so not sure what the weather will bring, feels like rain more than snow...think Cathy was here yesterday breaking down the big banks of snow from the plow so if we get rain that will be about it for the look of white..like some of you can't wait for that to happen.
Susan, did all go well with arrangements you had to go to work to do on your day off? How's the hot tub situation, ice all gone?
Debbie, I feel so badly for all you are going through, hopefully you will get some answers when you call today..you're uneasiness and your tummy upsets are from the not knowing I'm sure.
Think I'll go downstairs and see what I can get into for a few hours...
Morning everyone! Coffee is ready - French Vanilla today. Smells great!
Quill my Choc Lab woke me up around 4 am wanting to go outside. I got up to let her out and she changed her mind. So you guessed it - she is sound asleep in front of the wood stove and I am wide awake.
One good thing about the snow yesterday was it gave us a reprieve from the dreaded honking of the Canada Geese.Goodness I sure hope all this howling from the coyotes and honking from the geese does not go on all summer.
Mary I forgot to mention just how cute Belle is!!!! She sure looks like a Lab with that bright smile.
Sending positive thoughts for Mike and Ann - sure hope they hear what they want to hear. It is such a hard time for them, I know too well.
Chuckling about your jam sammies and Tea Betty. Dad and I used to have a cucumber sammie with our nightly tea and once maters were growing we had a dish of cut up maters, cucs and extra old cheese.YUM! To this day that is a favourite snack of mine. Once when I was in the Isolation ward at the hospital in London, Ont (I developed mumps while recouping from knee surgery) I refused to eat. They sent the dietition to see me, the nurses asked, the docs asked what would I eat and I kept saying nothing. Dad asked me one night - they couldn't come in the room they had to talk to me through a phone outside the door - if I would eat a cucumber sandwich and of course I said yes. One of the best tasting sandwiches I have ever had in my life! That was a pretty scarey time for a 10 year old - I remember the bed was in the middle of the room and the room was intended for 4 beds. Not having any contact with my family except through the window of the room and that blasted phone was torture for me and I am sure my parents.Sure wouldn't do that today in the hospital!
Good luck at the doc's today LK! Did the ER put a splint on it or just left you to your own devices?
Time for another cup of coffee and to stoke the fire. Make sure you all do something nice for yourself today everybody!
Debbie give those people a call that is criminal that they have not kept you in the loop for 2 weeks now. Part of their job description is to have weekly contact so their clients know exactly what is going on or isn't. Might help that rumbly tummy and headache once you talk to someone! I just hate not knowing, even if I don't like what I hear I can handle that better than being uninformed.
Dianne
Grabbed a cup of French vanilla Dianne, Frank from breakfast t.v. Says there is a front moving in and it's not a heat wave front...darts more snow!
Dianne, funny you should mention the honking of Canada geese, yesterday morning as I walked the gardens they passed overhead honking away, I yelled "welcome home birdies" and then thought to myself "I must get a life" between talking to the furies and now to the birdies, well a boring life I have...
Guess we all have comfort food....for my boys it's chicken and sliders...if I want them home I just have to call and say that's what I've cooked! Lol
Dianne, I just love cucumber sandwiches..come garden time I can live on them, tomato sandwiches, yellow beans and corn...cheap groceries...
Must have been overwhelming as a child, not quite understanding why you were being keep secluded from family members...
Nor did we understand either Betty. Except that was back in the 50's and they did things a little different then as opposed to now. When I left the unit I had to be scrubbed down with a decontaminating soap and I mean scrubbed. My skin felt like it was on fire for a week after.
Totally understand your talking to the birds. I do it all the time.In fact once the loons return I have a nightly commune with them almost everynight for an hour or two. If I do not get out on the dock by a certain time they come acallin'. I swear we understand what we are saying to each other.
Darn that Frankie Flowers! I knew that a storm front was moving in but thought if I ignored it maybe it wouldn't happen. Foolish thinking on my part!!
Dianne
Maybe it will not reach your neighborhood! Here's hoping..
When I was 17 I spent 6 months in the hospital re kinder failure, difficult time for me and I wa at an age that I could understand!
