Betty, those are supposed to look like ice cream scooops!! And they melt in that little pot I gave you like little tarts....put a tea light under the pot.
Best/Worse and What did I learn today-visit with friends!
Hello To All !
I'm Smiling SO big... must be a combination of Debbie's Wax cookies, Shirley's Happy Post, or Judy's wonderful and fun novellette....
Okay replies first ! Thunder... THANK you for the advice.. I WILL try that but I'm wondering if it 'matters' where I put Belle's digging spot. Can it be in an area that's hard to dig? Cuz I actually could use her help in a part of yard. Vet said she was part yellow lab... so maybe that's where the digging comes from?
Holly - Ah Impatiens ! If as Shirley says they need shade then that is why I don't have any... not much shade here.. but that is a beautiful picture you have posted !
Shirley - Wow - the hibiscus need to be planted in Fall... thank you... you have answered a question of mine... had planted some in spring and they never did much.... Once Tubby had posted a picture of the 90' hibiscus wall.. it was Gorgeous !
They are my favorite plant.... (so far) LOL
Betty - What a great trip to Memphis! I'd almost beg you to let me come up and visit too.. but May is gonna be crazy... headed to Florida for May 19 Nephew graduation and May 28 Niece Wedding..... I think Memphis is about 6 hours drive from here...
Re: Refrig - I'm hoping you are right... "so far so good".
Laura - Please feel better soon !
Judy - Wow - I think you are right... Belle is trying to "help"... its just funny.. I'll be pulling weeds...then see her biting the grass.... or the digging... copycat.......boy was I mad last night... but I had another talk with Belle... re-planted the poor wilted pulled up plants..... bricked off the flower bed..... DS has been better now that he's with a new/old girlfriend. Thank you for asking ! LOVE your "Whatta you doing" Skittles story... ROFLOL !
Barb... very interesting on the price of cotton... I wonder if the Asian women were used to working with other fabrics before... like silk... remember Dad sending back home fabric that Mom would make into beautiful silk dresses when he was in Japan, etc.
ELF! (((((((HUGS))))))) I'm smiling BIG because of you right now.... You are Truly Elf.... must be a Santa's Elf as well....
I'll check in later....
Mary
Wow,, Lots going on today, I am so pleased that Shirley and Tubby like the gift certificate. The folks at Stokes were so nice and helpful in letting me gift my prize this way. Also it would have never happened with out everyones votes. I knew from the very start that if I won where it would go!! So maybe that is just exactly why my little picture did so well. Funny story to tell you all, I had sent the wrong addy to Stokes and they did not have my phone # and since I stayed off FB for a few days. I did not know that they were trying deparately trying to reach me to get a corrected addy!! Anyway Shirley, we are so blessed to have you and Tubby here with us and as I have said before I am just paying it foward after all the kindness you have all shown me!! If this is not making much sense it is because I am a little weepy tonight.
Last night I got very sick. It felt like I was covered in fireants and each and everyone of them was snacking on my entire body. Ralph was getting frantic cause I was crying and trying to tear off my skin. This is the second time this has happened and it lasted for over 4 hours. By the time I was half way back to normal both Ralph and I were exausted and it was 5 am, we slept til 11:30 then got up to eat and went back to sleep at 1:30. He got up to go to work and I slept til 6pm. I am still tired and have faint twinges of this going on again. I am going to the Doc in the morning to see about the RA and will ask what could possibly making my skin do this. I think I would rather have Betty's Migraines than this.
Sorry to dump all this on you guys tonight. My problems are soooo small compared to most
and it seems silly and selfish to complain...sigh..
Kris - Many Many (((HUGS)) going your way... I hope they find the issue.... many THANKS for the Gift you have given us all..
Shirley and Tubby sears in my eyes and happiness in my heart so glad you like.
Goodmorning to all .
Tummy feeling better.
Got the camper and took 3 hours to do the inservice and now it is here.WOW
Leaving today after school for 1st trip.
See all on Monday.
Enjoy the weekend .
Hugs to all
.
Kris I hope the Dr. can find out what is making you feel that way.
Morning Laura! Have a great first trip in your camper!
Thank you Dianne.
What are you up to today?
I am working on laundry .
Happy st patrick's day everyone,
Laura, hope you are feeling well enough to take this maiden voyage...what do the kids think of it? Excited I!m sure!
Kris, perhaps it's an allergy, does't sound like a something you want to come down with often..glad you've an appt. Today,let's hope the have some answers!
Dianne did you get yesterday afternoon's sunshine?
Bath is ready, be back shortly!
Laura you had better get to bed or you'll be sleeping all the way. Have a great time and drive careful.
Elf it sounds like a medication reaction. I hope you get some relief soon. Yes do check with Dr. I can only imagine how horrible that would be. Hugs and prayers to you.
Okay it's taken 15 min. to type this, have a good day all!
Shirley' are you not feeling well this morning?
Debbie, yes I know what they should be but the look so pretty sitting as cookies on dining room table. And they smell fresh from
No chance of sleep now.
Kids to get to school.
One going on a feildtrip.
Camper to pack.
Laundry to do.
And finish cleaning house (I like to come home to a clean house)
Need to go find plastic gloves (use them when putting hoses for black water tank to be emptied)
Need more coffee.
Kris, I sure hope you feel better and find out what caused that. Did you use anything new? Soaps, shampoo, lotions? Oral meds, even vitamins?
Remember my horrible headaches the last few months? Well found out what caused them (besides DH). I was taking vitamin D supplements, and they were made from soy!!! I am VERY allergic to soy. SO, once I stopped those and found some non-soy....headaches have been much much better. (but not DH) lol
Today I am off to the dentist. I would rather give birth to a child then make this trip every six months. I get so worked up over just having my teeth cleaned....I hate it! I know Dianne and others have had major work....so I totally sympathize with you and think you are some of the strongest people!
Off and running for a bit. Remember all I wished for my car back? Be careful what you wish for, you just may get it! I have been to Rochester Monday, Wed. & Thurs of this week, and get to go again Monday & Tues net week!! I just get so exhausted with that drive, do not know how DH deals with it every day up and back for 20 years!
Have a good day
Debbie
Laura, Where are you heading with your camper? One of my favorite camp grounds is Huntington Beach State Park S.C.
It is on the beach with a nice nature center, large lake with alligators, salt water marsh with tons of bird watching and walkways, fishing, and right across the highway is beautiful Brookgreen Gardens. It is just about 1/2 hour or so below Myrtle Beach so if you want some excitement maybe take in a show do some shopping there is plenty to do.

hello there, office will be filled with appts. and visitors today so drove in 1 hr. early and did some cleaning, thought someone should..lol then, the boss calls, gave me his schedule for the next couple of days, asked what I was up to tomorrow, said nothing, he told me to leave at 1:00 instead of 3:00, wanted to treat me!!! yikes..told him it wasn't fair to let me go and all others stay but he said he's the boss and can do what he wants to do..even had me pass him on to his daughter to advise her that she would be looking after anything I needed looked after..sooo that's a nice way to start a morning!
Oh Holly, wonder if Laura can wait for me to get off work tomorrow so we could take that camper of hers to that location..absolutely stunning..will have to keep that site in my favorites, who knows where I may get off to this summer..my problem though is unless it's a long weekend I only get 2 days off, would have to come back before I get there..lol BUT will schedule a week here and there..
Debbie, going to call you the 'roadrunner'! Don't fret, he'll be gentle with the cleaning? lol maybe you should find a new dentist, one that's good to look at and you'd be more encouraged about going..
Kris, let us know how you make out!
Laura, further afield, could that be Canada??? Georgian Bay region, land of water and islands - God's country???
Holly, do you purchase a lot at these events..nothing like that in my area re DG but do have church plant sales but it's starting to be same old plants..
Am going to Garden Gallery to pick up something (hopefully the birdhouse I ordered for her is in) and will look at what they have in the greenhouse...always a nice way to put in lunch hour!
No buying plants at our DG Plant Swap. Everyone just digs up extra perennials or divides something, many like to start seeds or take cuttings. They bring their plants and swap them around. Not so much as a one for one swap as a plant give away. There were be a thread where we can post what we have to swap or what we are looking for some swaps are arranged before the swap some just bring and swap that day. You don't have to have a lot of plants to come to the swaps it is a great way for new gardeners to start off. Many of us have more plants than we want or can use. People go home with $100's worth of plants. Sometimes we run a small Co-op buy and those plants are ordered ahead of time and paid for. We hosted a swap at our house a few years ago. There were about 25 people some came with 10 plants some came with a 100. We try to get together at different homes in different areas so more people can come. It is a great way to see each others gardens and meet in person and everyone brings a covered dish so there is a lot of really good food as well as beautiful plants.
This is a picture from the Swap I hosted.
Good Morning,
Barb, Thank You!!
and Thank you everyone about Jacob. He is excited as are everyone we know...OMG, I was frantic at getting his video's on a dvd, took forever to figure it out, but I did...He was rushing me because the coaches wanted to see, Hands on the hips here, they should have been there to see it first hand!! Well now they have seen, Wrestling is done for everyone else but Jacob. He will be wrestling with the Coaches in order to prepare, that and I hope his good Buddy from the Varsity team. We got to thinking too, if His coaches can't make it for the Nationals then We will ask Jerry to come and coach him as well as practice/warm up...
So Glad the surprise from Kris arrived, yep just smiling away in anticipation of what you, Shirley and Tubby will choose.
Woohoo, the first trip in the new camper brings excitement...Have a Wonderful and Safe trip.
Will look forward to hearing all about it when you return.
Debbie, so holding your hand at the dentists, I hate them too.
Kris, oh my! Can't imagine such pain. I sure hope the doc can figure it out...But I'm wondering if it has to do with the clay you are using??
Arm wraps to you Both!!
Holly, Forgot to say...I love the bathtub garden feature!! What a great use for the doors too.
Wow, yesterday was very busy for me, worked inside on the housework, finished up my bathroom, got the kitchen all clean...
Didn't get to sewing because it was Sooo nice out, I wandered out side.
And so my gardening arobics begin! Picked up debris and fallen branches, Then pulled some weeds and got this grandeose idea that I should lay the cloth down now before the weeds, get the idea of growing taller and stronger!! Some gardener I am, it only took Years to figure that out. How lovely to hear the birds singing, and chattering. Spring activity abound, squirrels out & about and I even saw the first Skunk!! Chatted with my neighbor on what he was planting, He started his tomato seeds...So nice to see trees budding, but cringing the thought of cleaning all that up, lol...This morning had my coffee on the Deck!! Today, will be out side again..Almost all I need and want to get done inside can wait till I come back in, hehehe Mother Nature is calling, Oh and the magnificent aroma of soil,yes, yes,yes!!
Making breakfast and Ham and Cheese egg sandwich for good energy! LOL, Birdie is madder then heck...She can't come out. She is screeching at the birds outside.Think I will move her to a window, its too cold to bring her out yet, maybe she will quiet down...
Also, got to get to Menards for red mulch, I want to finish the path to the back of Wood pile, And Tadah back to sifting stone!!
OK eggs are ready! See you in a bit.
Please enjoy the day.
Judy, listened to the weather this morning and yours came on, thought to myself, know where Judy will be..know you are always collecting branches and wood for your fire..bet that's where I'll find you tonight, sitting next to one.
Will you be able to go with Jacob?
Hi Betty!
Oh my goodness, if it stays clear tonight, might just have that fire!! Oh my how excited I am at the thought!!
I wouldn't miss the Nationals for the world, you bet I will be there!! So is everyone in our family, Julia and Anthony are taking Friday off. And I think Gyspy is going too, she lives 2 hours from Springfield!
LOL, Betty, you are too funny, always wanting to get out earlier and now you are and your quetioning it...Yep pack your stuff starting at 12: and skidaddle out the office at stroke of 1...Hope the weather is good out your way so you can be outside, Maybe Paul is sensing your ambition to be out side, woohooo.
Awe hope your birdhouse is in. Ohhh, how lovely a greenhouse, guess what, I am getting one too. Liz, got extra points and gifted me with a greenhouse , OH MY GOSH, a dream come true!
Ok, breakfast over, time to go outside!!
SHIRLEY if you haven't tried this, turn off your computer and let it sit for 5 minutes or so before you turn it back on.
I am so glad you got the certificate!! AAWWWWWWWW We love you too!!
OMG Judy a greenhouse, how thrilling is that...when will you get it?
That Liz sure is a special lady...ooohhh have to tell you, Suzanne was telling me she will book last week of July and/or 1st week in August for her vacation...look at your calendar and please give me a date or I'll be too late to be able to book vacation??? drats, then I couldn't come, well maybe I could for a Sat. or Sun.
Oops hit send before I wanted to.
Betty where are you going to stay the night in Memphis???
Kris that's a strange thing you have going on with your skin, definitely let us know. You should have a package by now?
Holly that's exactly what we do. There's no buying at our swaps and RU's either. Everyone brings plants, usually averages to about 30 plants per person and we usually have about 30 people attend. We get lists going on a DG forum in our region of who wants what from who, then the rest ends up being a huge free for all, and whoever hosted the party ends up with the leftovers, which usually amounts to a lot of good plants. And everyone brings food.
Awesome Betty! La la la la la don't feel bad about your good treatment! You deserve it!
Sweet Judy!!! You've been going like a house a fire!!!
Well Crissy, I'll have to find a hotel closer to the action..lol..Beale St. and Elvis' Graceland that way we'll not have to travel long distances once we arrive...so have to check what's in the area and book before we leave!
Good Morning again! Just got settled in to post and I remembereed 2 chores that just HAD to be completed before DH got up today.
Nope no sun yesterday Betty just rain but it is beautiful outside right now. Loving it!
Back, had to stop and go into the village. Can't celebrate St Paddy's Day without a cabbage for the boiled Corned Beef dinner tonight.
Stopped at the mail box and received a wonderful surprise. Thank you Betty they are beautiful.
Debbie good luck at the dentist. I so understand how you feel about goping. I used to have to have a general anethestic(sp) to have work done and for a cleaning I had to be the first papptment of the day or I would hurl in the waiting room. Yep I was a welcome patient.lol
Judy so good to hear from you. I'll join you on those moonlight walks, that's when I go and commune with the loons.
~~~~~ to everybody have to get moving here before the day is half over.
Dianne
Betty Yes! The bad thing is, Graceland is not close to Beale Street so since Graceland is a day thing and Beale Street is an evening thing I would try to stay as close to Beale Street as possible, so look in the Downtown Area and hope the prices aren't too high with the whole Memphis in May thing going on. Sunday night shouldn't be bad, the weekend stuff ends Sunday late afternoon and everyone goes home. Do you want me to help you?
It would be nice if you could provide a few options...Crissy, what was the name of the restaurant we went to, was it B.B.Kings, guess Bealle St. is pretty empty on a Sunday night?
Judy, just got a flyer from Princess Auto and they have a 6ft. Greenhouse..56" wide by 28" inches deep with four 23" x 13" wire shelves..front door on it for $49.99..mickey mouse perhaps but could be good for starting seeds..hmmmm ??? anyone think it would be useful..or would I be wasting my $$$...
Keep trying to see who many not have received their envelope, think Susan and Mary and will get something out for Holly, PLEASE anyone else not get something these past 2 weeks?
Well I am home from work. I will have to check reference book and see if there is a solution in it for my computer problem.
Have a good day all!
Yeah it's pretty mellow which is good. You don't want it rowdy like it can get. Memphis is not your safest of cities. I'll check it out, I know peeps who go there often. That was Blue's City Cafe. BB Kings is across the street and Very pricey. My favorite place is Rum Boogies, you get some bang for your buck there, and they have some awesome bbq and cajun food. Can everyone walk about 5-6 blocks on the not so flat streets?
BETTY
Here are links to the best rates closest to Beale Street.
I've heard that this Doubletree is a very nice stay for the money and not even 1/4 mile from Beale Street, so it's an easy walk.
Might be hard for Linda my cousin/SIL, that being said she's waiting for doctor's approval re her knees to see if she can come..
that's what you get for getting old..lol I might not be able to make 5-6 blocks..just kidding..we'd be fine, could take our time..so right downtown Memphis would be unsafe for 1 night or should be rely on GPS and stay up where you, Debbie and I stayed?
Lordy, picked up, no I didn't couldn't lift it, the birdhouse I had made for Darlene..what a beautiful primitive piece, would love one but have to save my pennies first...I'm sure Darlene will be appreciative..she wouldn't let me pay for room/gas/meals etc. said it was my birthday gift sooo it's my way of repaying her.
Doubletree sounds nice Crissy...I bookmarked it..
Oh I was gifted with a GH last fall. My dear parents bought it for me. We couldn't get it up so it is still in the box but now that the weather is getting nice and the ground is drying out we will be working to get it up as soon as we can. Yesterday Ric and I moved the chicken pen and did some cleanup so we can get in there and work on the foundation.
Betty that's way way way too far away from everything where we stayed last time, you NEED to be downtown.
I've heard from quite a few people that go regularly that's where they stay, everytime. I'll stay where ever you're staying, just let me know when you book the room so I can book myself a room too.
Well, I'm trying to see if they have my computer fixed now. What an ordeal. I'll check back later.
