Like all similar tragedies, it kind of slaps us in the face and makes us better appreciate what we have. That pain, that unpaid bill and that annoying neighbor just don't seem so important.
Coffee Break #55 More rain coming!!
you have the right - here we are worried about a broken jm branch or two - makes the ice storm a few years ago seem like nothing
Yes it does.
very hard to watch & glad that those with the cameras are safe.
Those slide before and after pics are amazing.
It wasn't his time.
Amazing story.
The videos are just terrible....but I was expecting a huge wave......it's just that it hit such a heavily populated area.....how prepared is our West Coast?
According to the show on Nat Geo last night - not very. It focused not on the expected northern CA quake, but a huge one expected off the coast of Seattle.
and a bit of the one along the mississippi. surprised they did not touch on glacier.
Wow - meltdown in three reactors.
Tomorrow marks 15 years in my house! Cannot believe it.
Wow - they're predicting another monster quake - around 8.0 - might hit them on the coming days.
US Navy put more distance between themselves & the reactor.
If another 8.0 quake hits, it will be total panic....those people need to get away from the coast!
We interrupt our scheduled depressing news with some uplifting good news....
WE ARE IN LABOR!!!!!!!!!

I gained respect for the culture when I was at work... long story short over the weekend the father was practice driving with his daughter on a permit.. she lost control over the car and it slammed into a small outbuilding .. actually went though a wall and inside it... monday morning they were there fessing up to the damage.. I always said how many American people would do that if no one was around to see it???
culture solidsarity on an island where everyone must cooperate. However, they have their 'baddies' also. Let's hope that they were too shocked by the events to operate.
