Let's hope she's able to get online tomorrow!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

I've missed you all and really wish I felt more like joining in. Those close to me here are trying to keep my spirits up and I guess I'm doing okay.

Marion, so good to see you here and hope that mom is doing as good as can be expected. My mom remains the same. Still no big pain thank you God, but some days just feels so drained.

Jaye, are you familiar with "Earth Foods" store? We are going to be getting one in our area, and I was told they originated in NC. Just wondered what's in "store" for us?

It's sunny here today and I'm ready to go out to continue more garden clean up. I just bopped in here to see what the temp is outside. Ugh.
49.6. I would prefer 64.9. :o)

Hello Ladies,

Who has the ARK? We need it badly. It has been raining almost nonstop since Wed. night. Tomorrow is going to be horrible. Rainy and winds up to 25. Called my mom and told her I do not want to drive in that weather for 1 1/2 hours and my hand not all that well healed. She said ok, my brother would be calling. Well he called my mom's and her phone is out, but she was at my daughter's. He found her there and told her " Don't come tomorrow winds are to be up to 75" When mom told me that I laughed, so she told him that I had checked weather report.
The Sierras are getting blasted with snow. There was a bad accident involving 45 cars and 1 big rig, 1 death but lots of minor injuries. Road was closed from 1:30 yesterday afternoon until 1:30 this morning.

LK post pix on FB of her broken finger. A butterfly had landed on her cast. Awesome pix.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hello everyone! Got a few minutes to steal the computer, so just stopping in to say hello. I will be home late Sunday, so will try to catch up then. Jaye, hope you get a good connection soon!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Hello LK!
Looking forward to chatting with you on Sunday! Hope you had a great trip!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Wishing my sistahs here JOY on the first day of Spring.
My heart aches for all that's going through severe challenges.
Connection speed has somewhat improved but don't know what the rest of the day holds. Maybe if I ask the church to pray for this?

Cookie, as you know we don't live in a civilised area :( That store must have originated in either Charlotte or Raleigh. I've been to one, and I hope we'll get one soo.
It's chocked full of healthy stuffs, has a supermarket and there's even a little snack bar.
You might like it.
Please give your mum and dad hugs from me and Kel.
And say yes to Sue coming over!!

Sue, how are you feeling? You'll soon be swamped with customers, I pray..and you have what they want from your nursery.
Will you be selling your cider too?

Susan, ahhhh.. that's a relief to know all is well at work. You can't help but overextend yourself, it's in your nature, especially when helping others. Good idea to be sticking to your assigned duties, and let the others fend for themselves.
Blessings to be getting a paid day off, eh? Love you sistah!

Cindy, I hear of possible mudslides warning in Ca. I hope you don't live on precarious land :( You're right.. stay out of the winds too!
Please post often, when you can.. so we'll know you are okay. Thanks for the tip on LK. I just returned from there, and didn't see her new post on my page.

Crissy, aren't you glad you're not in Ca. anymore? Well dear, if you're not ready for a pet, read this:
Sometimes I feel like I shouldn't have started having pets!! It's always a continous cycle of 'training' them.. making sure they know what are the "No Scratch Zones" and to stay away from the dining table!!!!
I have one that knows how to open cabinet doors!
You're such a good momma to Tiga, so you know what I go through when one has the sniffles. Off with the dropper I go.. to all the kitties in the house!!
But then, if I didn't have them.. this imposed exile of mine.. will be void of continous entertainment and displays of feline affection!!

Sistah Judy, it's only beef that I avoid. Sorry for that unnecessary worry. I will eat any other kind of meat, except beef!! So tell Steve, he can lay extra chickens of that bbq grill, and I'm looking forward to that omelette breakfast, prepared by you!! Why must you remind me that my pathway needed to be raised and levelled again!!
Arrrrggghhhh, need the cane to walk across those stones since they're not level anymore.

Did anyone see that "Supermoon" last night and how about that howl? Wasn't that howl awesome??
That was Synda howling!!! Yep!!! Lol!! Sorry sistah.. just kidding!! I'll put myself up for adoption!!!
The moon appeared normal to me but not to Kel.

LK, wishing you a safe flight sistah. I'm glad Todd will be there for emotional support.
So.. before this dissipated into cyber grave, giving ALL GIANT ARMWRAPS, a la Sistah Judy.
Will try to return to this after church.

Happy Spring Everyone!!!!

LK I didn't see the pic of your finger, thought we were fb friends but maybe not?? Hope you had a good trip and have a safe flight home.

Jaye I do miss feline entertainment and cuddling and all, but what I have on my agenda at the moment doesn't fit the life of a cat.

Cindy I am so sorry you need an ark!! Just don't let that storm come this way!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Sue is coming tomorrow and promises to give me hugs from all of you!

We'll have a good time, not sure what's on the agenda, but I'm pretty sure shopping and eating are one of the things!

^_^

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

89 here the last 2 days. have the air conditioner on. went to wally world and bought meself some shorts and bloomers.

marion and joyce, you and your families are in my prayers. (((((hugs))))) to both of you. know that i loves ya

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Well the first day of Spring sure sucks here :( Rain & windy. Back yard is a small pond. Harlee does not like it at all. She had a track around the yard that she would run every day, lol now it under water and she does not like that.

The storm was horrible last night, wind gusts upto 50 mph, power out but back on before we woke up, stuff blew over in the back yard had to pick things up to get out the door jeez. Other than that we are ok.

A little funny for ya all this afternoon ^_^

One day an old German Shepherd starts chasing rabbits and before long, discovers that he's lost. Wandering about, he notices a panther heading rapidly in his direction with the intention of having lunch.

The old German Shepherd thinks, "Oh, oh! I'm in deep s*** now!"

Noticing some bones on the ground close by, he immediately settles down to chew on the bones with his back to the approaching cat. Just as the panther is about to leap, the old German Shepherd exclaims loudly,

"Boy, that was one delicious panther! I wonder, if there are any more around here?"

Hearing this, the young panther halts his attack in mid-strike, a look of terror comes over him and he slinks away into the trees.

"Whew!," says the panther, "That was close! That old German Shepherd nearly had me!"

Meanwhile, a squirrel who had been watching the whole scene from a nearby tree, figures he can put this knowledge to good use and trade it for protection from the panther. So, off he goes.

The squirrel soon catches up with the panther, spills the beans and strikes a deal for himself with the panther.

The young panther is furious at being made a fool of and says, "Here, squirrel, hop on my back and see what's going to happen to that conniving canine!"

Now, the old German Shepherd sees the panther coming with the squirrel on his back and thinks, "What am I going to do now?," but instead of running, the dog sits down with his back to his attackers, pretending he hasn't seen them yet, and just when they get close enough to hear, the old German Shepherd says...

"Where's that squirrel? I sent him off an hour ago to bring me another panther!"

Moral of this story...

Don't mess with the old dogs... Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill ! BS and brilliance only come with age and experience.

If you don't send this to five 'old' friends right away, there will be five fewer people laughing in the world.

Of course, I am in no way insinuating that you are old, just 'youthfully challenged'.

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

That's great Cindy!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

hahahaha love that "old dogs" joke - tried to tell it to my DH, but I didn't tell it as well as you, Cindy!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! I am back home. It is hard to type with a broken finger. I have an appointment tomorrow with the specialist.
Cindy sorry to hear your getting so much rain!
Susan, how are you doing in Canada? Is is warming up yet?
Cookie, Kathy, it is nice to see you both!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Morning Ladies,

We got a break from the rain for just a little while today. Scattered showers today. But starting tomorrow the storms are back and the snow levels are low. My mom may be getting snow at her house this week.

LK, you should post that pix of the butterfly on your hand here. I thought that was so cool.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Rain Rain Go Away!!! Cindy the weather in CA sucks right now, so much for "It never rains in CA!" Love the dog joke, way cute!!

I'm at work just wanted to pop in and say HI!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Waving to all and welcoming Crit to our very loving group here, and most of us are like the old dog in Cindy's post... "youthfully challenged"!

Sis Kathy, it's in the erratic 40s rising to using the aircondition, atmoshere here! No wonder there are absentees in church!

Cindy, I like that fable!!! It's a good one to share among us. Thank you!
Now it's supposed to be spring, and your mum's getting snow in Ca.??
Yep, who says it never rains in Ca. Poor you!!

Sue!!!! Have a good week at work!! No more stress for you Sue!!!

Crissy, I didn't mean to imply that you need a feline buddy :*( Just wanting to say sometimes my house and yard aren't littered with them!! So much work for me...that's the down side :*(

Welcome back LK. Wouldn't it be nice if you could talk and words appear on the screen? Ahh well, hope you're not sewing at all, till you see the specialist.
You must be glad to see home and your hummers! Go ahead and post that picture of your hand LK. We want to see it!

Hey Sistahs.. when I (notice the singular) got back from church last night, my feet kept cramping!!! It's the 2 hours drive, (30 mins. one way) by myself, that aggravated them. Looks like if I were to go alone, I'll have to choose one service :(
Last night, the tonic didn't work. Tylenol didn't ease the pain neither. What a fight!!! Hopefully the muscles will be more relaxed today.

Here is the link to my neice's facebook album. The place we went to was called Meijer gardens, and it was so pretty. The beautiful Chuhuly glass, and all the butterflies...

This is my hand with the butterfly!

Aw Linda that's sweet! Quite a wrap you have there, hopefully it'll heal without anything further being done to it.

I'll take a look at the pics!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Awww.... see that Crissy.. .no wonder that didn't appear on our FB pages.
LK still loves us!! Lol!!

Got to go and check it out!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Ohhhhh LINDA KAY!!!
To have a butterfly just to land on your hand?? How did you do that?? Do you have some nectar on that bandage??
No wonder the Hummers love you!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No nectar, they were landing on everyone! Look at this one on another guy that was there. We were all chasing these huge blue butterflies, and when they land, they always close up, and all we could get was the brown markings on the outside. Well, I was walking around, and this guy was on his knees, trying to follow this butterfly and it landed on his arm.

Oh my!!
There's a indoors conservatory in Raleigh that has butterflies flying all around in abundance. It's always a big hit with the kids in summer.
This big kid here would love to experience that!

Kel had b'flies on his hand, but not me.. :(
Saw a couple of butterflies Thursday.. one was blue! Unfortunately didn't have my camera at that time.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I have a bunch of tiger swallowtails around my house, they're gorgeous.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

You need to go and visit Jaye. You would love it!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I am not sure where to post this message so I will start here.

A huge thank you to the sweet person who gifted me with a renewed subscription to Dave's. I guess with all that has been going on I neglected to do so. Your thoughtfulness is very much appreciated, cherished and a lift I needed at this point. God bless you--all of you.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

((((((((((((((Marion)))))))))))))))))))
You are our Numero Uno Maid M!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I am flattered!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

So nice to hear you have an earthly Angel marion!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

So good to see you post Marion. I miss you.
LK - all I could think of when I saw that picture was the song "Butterfly Kisses". What an honor to have one land and try to make you better....
Good joke Cindy. My DH liked it too.
Waving hello~~~~~ to all and wishing you all "Happy Spring" while it snows here once again.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Hi Ladies,

We have been issued a huge tornado warning YIKES. I am scared to death. This house is so old that the big bad wolf could blow it over. I will check back in with you all later. Need to get things battened down and unplug etc.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

((((Cindy and Doug)))) Stay safe.

Fun day with Sue today. Ric and Robyn popped up from Cinci to join us. We went to a guys house who is in the Hosta Society with me and he had a gazillion hellebores. Almost all were blooming, some still in bud. Then off to a garden center where I picked up 3 dwarf iris in purple blue and yellow colors and a 3 pack of violas in a color I didn't have.

All in all a really, really good day today. Plus Mom and Dad had a great day as well.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear you got together today and had a great time!

Cindy, stay safe please? Post when it is past!

just a quick hi to you all
hugs
sue

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Barb, according to my crystal ball, it will be the last snow you'll ever see for the year :D
If I'm wrong, I'll just have to read tea leaves, huh? Butterflies will soon be there.. at least it will be April around the corner and not February!

Cindy--- woohooo--- check in when everything's alright--please. You'll be surprise with old houses. Some of them are very well built.

Cookie, I am so glad you have had a fantastic time. Was it Rick that had black--whatchmacallit--darn those flowers escaped my mind. Got to check my blood glucose!
Was Bertie with you all? Good to know your Mum and Dad had a great day as well!
Now, did Sue gave you hugs that took your breath away? If she hadn't, she must return and do so!!

Hugs back Sue!!! Frogs are not singing in unison here, and I wish our Susan can teach them how to sing!!!!
No rain in sight, and the ground's dry as a bone :( Hopefully a light shower before the week's over.

Ran a fever today, guess it's from the legs. Now my back's starting to ache!! But my physical discomforts can be relieved right?
Will take a couple of Advils and try 2 bottles of Tonic, instead on one.
TV provides some entertainment when I'm not on the sewing machine.

Alrighty.. have to feed Mr. Kel. He wasn't satisfied with chicken wings!! :D

At least she can communicate!! Would be terrible for her if she wanted something German, she might have to do the Polka!
I wish I had a lilac bush. Thought lilacs don't grow around here till I see this old house with one that's 7ft. tall. Would want to know her secret.

Maid M., I hope you get plenty of rest.

Kel decided to make himself a pastrami sandwich.. smells so good. It's turkey pastrami so I could have one!!

God bless you all sistahs.. see you in the afternoon! Going OOT tomorrow!

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

LILACS are my Favorite ,Favorite,Favorite...........the most wonderful aroma. I have them planted at the one end of our porch! But there are different kinds of lilacs and each smell a little different. I want to get a white one and one that is yellow. Jaye I will look and see if mine have any runners coming off of it.
