Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, woke up to a winter wonderland outside, looked so
pretty ,woke up at 5:10 and it wasn't until I had my bath did I remember about changing the clocks, so not early after all.

With coffee in hand, went back to look at bewaitiful view and there was a black van sitting in front of the house, odd wasn't there a few minutes before....thought that was odd...few minutes later I see a man coming up to my door, wasn't sure I should answer, who visits at that time of morning...he had something in his hand so I thought maybe he was from a religious group but doubtful that time of morning ..

I answered and he told me he had documents to serve me....court

documents...wow, who could possibly serve me???

Well some of you who have been with me since I first started this thread and many through the years might have read my plight...

Making the story a lot lighter and shorter ....don't want to get into a depression state here, lol that after Roger died I developed a relTionship and later married a community man who was just too adorable, recently divorced with 2 children about 5 years younger than my own...after 8 years I left the farmland with less than $30. In my pocket, no vehicle and homeless after my my putting my $$$ from sale of my home into his...had taken eRly retirement as financially it wasn't necessary to work...bought an rv and spent winters in florida, had a life all would have loved to have..I learned later I was much

Within one month I was able to

Not too sure what happened there but will continue my morning story....

I learned later I was much too trusting.

Hubby was a fantastic guy, stepdaughter and her young children offsprings from he'll, that doesn't even do the situation justice. Found out later she was the cause of her mom and dad's marriage going under!

Within a month with the help of family and friends I had bought a house, was in pretty bad shape but it was a roof over my head..family and friends never left my side for months, all helping me making my little corner of the world liveable...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Guess that's why family and friends are so dear to my heart...I could go on and on about how they became my earthly angels..not a day would go by that someone dropped off a meal so I wouldn't have to cook, that someone would drop off something I needed that perhaps they saw I could use......and here I am today, a survivor of my loss of Roger, bad marriage and now this morning receiving divorce papers..

Many asked me through the years why I had not gone after what I put into the home, the rv ,truck ,money...half in my name but didn't want to stay mentally in that situation, beaten mentally so behind me it has stayed...

Guess the paperwork I received this morning will finally put it there

Thanks for listening

Mary those church ladies with typrwriters to funny.
To all that had farms that may be the way to get back to. Food prices going up with gas prices. I pay the same price for milk as I do gas.OUTRAGES.
Debbie laughing at the coffe on the shirt your DH knows you well. And a high five to Shane for doing so well in the competition.
Good golly Betty a dark van in front of the house would have scared me to death. Is all ok?
Coffee going.

Lexington Park, MD

Betty sending you a ((((((hug)))))

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thanks Laura, just put my tummy in a roll..not sure I'm feeling anything much about it but I must!

Lexington Park, MD

It sounds like a chapter in your life that just needs to be closed. So by signing the papers that should help.
As you said family and friends are here for you always.
Do you have any projects going today?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Although coughing is still bad, head isn't as bad so far, already cut out the base for frog flower pot I am hoping to get out to finish spring swap box..easily sit on the couch and paint..will be cute! Had made a small cement rhubarb leaf to glue it on but much too heavy to ship so just cut one out of wood...

Then I've got my fabric out ready to cut for the 4th strip of the 12 month Christmas quilt which I'm doing 3 so if I don't get into a coughing jag I'll try and get that done.

And yes, close that chapter of my life!!

What have you got planned for the day? How did your dad's biggest part go, any photo's?

Debbie, it must be difficult to find shoes that size, must need a specialty shoe store? Sounds as tho ugh fun was had by all

Mary, we just don't put much thought into what we purchase at times as to where it's manufactured, guess well all be in a save seed mode this year and offer to share seeds we have!

Love the church post, had me laughing away

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Betty just be careful they are not after what you have built up. I'd see a lawyer before I did anything!!!!!
Thanks so much for the chuckles this morning Mary. They are priceless.
I had the boys since Thurs and they go home today. I love them to pieces but I'm ready for some quiet. I forgot how I hate listening to kids argue!!!! They didn't do it much but they are brothers and I guess it is second nature to them. I just need to learn to tune them out like I did my own kids.....It will be quiet soon and then I'll miss them terribly!!! I'm sure all you grandparents out there know what I'm talking about.....
Be back later......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sure do Barb, think its because being on our own, or in your case you and Norm all is quiet, can almost hear a pin drop...we get used to that so when out of the normal it gets to us...give it a day or two and you'll be asking them back..

(Crystal) Waverly, AL

Hi everybody! I just met Mud_Elf on Friday over a plant exchange. She encouraged me to sign up and join your group. I have a small one-horse plant business, and I am the horse. I have mostly stuff I have collected over a life time, and I like plants second only to my family.
This spring has been ripping along even faster than usual it seems and I still have lots to do in the greenhouse and yard.
I have some bloodroot and Hepatica blooming in my wildflower area and the Trilliums are up and growing. Atamasco lilies foliage is up but no blooms yet.
Looking forward to joining your plant talk.
This is my hellebore (terrible name). Do any of you grow these?

Barb I have that noise day in and day out with my 2 kids. It seems they can not get along at times but if one is not around the other misses the one not here.
Dads Birthday went well and we did surprise him. He had wanted some trees so we got him some crepe myrtles and lilaces (sp) all purple blooms.
Today out shoe shopping as the kids are growing out of what they have. Looked at the weather for next week and should be able to put some plants out.
I have a rhubarb that was started inside that is ready to move. Need some sunshine it has been cloudy past couple of days. Oh then there is laundry to do....always.
Oh guess what has arrived...........the camper is ready for pick-up. yeah I can not wait.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Good morning, and I'm glad Kris encouraged you to note only become a member on Dave 's garden but drop in to chat with us as well...we welcome new friends!

Tis a bit of a depressing name for such a beautiful plant! Yes, i do have some in my gardens...we have a wildflower nursery and one of ontario's largest lily nursery just up the road from me, always say I'm going to purchase wildflower seed and cast it all along back lot and then spring passes and I've not done so, perhaps this year I'll follow through and get the ground worked in time

Trillium is our provincial flower...will be a month or so before we
see both white and pink tone trilliums along our roadside!

Isn't it always the same when you have a small business, you get to do all the work..must be quite a undertaking.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh happy days Laura, will you wait until next weekend to p ice it up or will you go one day this week...what fun you'll have this summer!

My boys were the same, couldn't get along for five minutes...both born in 1969 was not a goof idea on my part...I thought they be great friends but not, same class, same friends, same, same, same!

Must be a time for shoe buying....kids sure can outgrow them quickly and shoes aren't cheap are they?

Glad your dad was surprised....I'll have to check what crepe myrtles are...last year Laura I bought 3 boomerang lilacs, not as big as regular lilacs but are suppose to flower several times throughout the season..my secret garden is hidden inside an area of lilac trees..is it the dark purple that you've given your dad?

Lexington Park, MD

Going to pick up camper on Wednesday and then leave on Thursday for a test camping trip not to far from home.
Not sure what shade of purple? Did not know there was dark and light. Will have to see when they bloom.
It seems the kids grow out of everthing so fast hard to keep up sometimes.
Betty did you get a package in the mail???

Victoria Harbour, ON

You've so many reasons to look forward to spring and summer...wow, enjoy this time of your life

Did get mail on Friday, but no package....I'll keep checking!

Joel Olsteen ministry on right now so off I go

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh yes Mary it did feel good to get outside, today is going to be 12* cooler than yesterday :-p

Debbie that is awesome! What a good kid with a good head on his shoulders. We used to call those skis LOL

I bet there are a lot of things torn up by the earthquake and tsunami. I haven't been keeping up with it very good.

Can someone please help me by telling me how to grow a chick? Do they like shade or sun? What kind of dirt? Wet or dry? I have one and it isn't doing very good, it keeps falling over and loosing dirt and I move it back and forth from shade to sun because I just don't know what I am doing.

Betty I would definitely seek professional help with that divorce, no telling what that daughter has conned her dad into wanting.

LOL Laura you're not wasting any time are you girl! How exciting, I bet you're jumping up and down over this!!

Love Church Ladies with Typewriters!

Lexington Park, MD

Sorry Crissy the chick I know is a chicken and you dont plant them. lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Crissy, I have some and they seem to grow almost anywhere...I've put some in boots, hypertufa pots and in the live garden roof birdhouse ...

Still a nice day for you to be playing in the garden though isn't it

Every once in a while mother nature melts some of t he snoe and I get a peek at all the debris laying on the ground..so many tree branches and limbs to be picked up..you'll have yours done before I even get started...

Sunday morning schedule, now that joel is over, time to call mom..doubt I'll tell her about my early morning visitor as she'll have a fit, I'll keep her gabbing about her knees instead

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Isn't it funny how we pick our battles eh Betty?????

Morning Everyone,
Waving hi to Crystal!! I love thast hellevore. Spelled wrong I know, just ignore my spelling lol.
So glad you dropped in. I really want to come and visit your green house. Maybe in a couple of weeks after I see what they are going to do about my foot!!

Betty Morning to you too!!

Ok, it is so hard to type when the cat wants to sleep on the keyboard. I am going to figure out my day and get started...lol Found this picture on the web,, think I will make this today!!

Welcome Goldhill....so happy you joined us! Grab a cup of brew and join us. We pretty much gab about anything and everything.
Be patient with me...I have ADD and go off track really easy "OH shiney object!"

Crissy, I think his are more like "clown shoes" than skis...they are the uggliest colors I have ever seen, lime green, orange and yellow. Told him we will find him running the track no problem!

Betty, I am with Barb....have a lawyer take a look at those papers. DO not trust anyone with this you do not have 100% trust in. His daughter could be forcing him to do this as his health is ill....and if he passes, you get everything being his wife legally, so she is stopping that. Something just stinks

Rough night, my Izzy still isn't feeling the best and had me up quite a bit. I finally crashed on the couch for a few hours.

Needing more coffee....be back
Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

In talking with Darlene a few minutes ago she told me his last girlfriend moved out because of his daughter and ex, bill had built a home on the farmland for his daughter and that is when the trouble started, seems the poor soul who just left had a harder time than it, feel badly for her, but now I Darlene thinks he's back with ex and she wouldn't take kindly to me having same last name although the only time I use it is for legal docs.....what a mess....will check with Paul tomorrow, he is a paralegal and we have a lawyer who works with us so before I sign anything will check it out...

Mom is anxiously waiting for her operation, she could tell I could hardly talk without coughing and hacking, she made reference to it and went on about her cold and how poorly she felt soooo said I'd best get off the phone..And yes Barb, sometimes it's best not to let them know what's going on in o lives...can understand then why our kids do the same

Ann always drops in after church for a visit providing mike is ok so I really should get out of my jammies and look presentable don't you think

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

It's humid, but instead of being 75* it will be 63*. I know I know... I'll hush up now!

Goldhillal! It is so nice to meet you!!!!! So glad Kris called you over here to join us, we are a chatty bunch!

Victoria Harbour, ON

You'd best be quiet Crissy, here's what you'd find outside my window..how I'd love being outside playing in the garden, even having to wear a jacket..lol

Such a pretty color Bev....do you lose many do to rot? why do you uncover, are we suppose to?

Greg called awhile ago, wanted to know what I was up to? Melanie and the bors are off until the weekend, going to Meaford for holidays..hard to believe it's been a year since Kyle dad that tav accident on his first day of holiday...Greg was just leaving to go up the islands to work on my cousin doug's scoot...don't like him on the bay but who am I, only his mom...won't listen...he says the main trail which is marked is safe..

Working on my project and hate the part where you have to watch paint drive. Lol. Almost same as watching water boil!

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

I don't uncover anything until April 17 but the daylilies are growing above the leaves and mulch and read to uncover them so glad I am. I have several that just sunk in the ground and some look like they are melting from rot OH! MY!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hello everyone! Just skipping through. Busy packing for my trip, and to let you know that I will be back Sunday night sometime!
Be good.

Lyndonville, NY

Linda, have a good time...and safe travels!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Enjoy your trip LindaKay...no worries, just enjoy time with family!! It will be quite a bit colder in Michiga, don't forget to pack your snugglies....Did Todd get the heater back in?

Bev, it's always interesting seeing what made it and what didn't..can't wait to check things out here!

Just doing finishing touches to my project, hope I can get a few coats of finish on it before nightfalls so I can pack and ship in the morning!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yes, he finally got it working. He had it all back together, and filled up, then the heating element did not work, so he had to drain it, replace the element, and all is good! Finally a hot shower!
