I let them get away with far too much to keep the peace..spoke with Paul, he wants to figure out an alternative..we'll see..told him I'd stay to train someone, wouldn't leave him in the lurch but no..he'll come up with something he says..

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Betty, OMG the gift you sent and made are just gorgeous. I too will always treasure them and love the colors. I was a bit worried when I opened the mailbox the envelope was torn open and they tried to seal it. Everything arrived in one piece. Thank you and God Bless you dear.

We just got home a little bit ago from all the appts. today. Tubby had his eyes examined. He has a cataract on the middle of his left eye, Dr. gave him option of surgery, but he says no right now. I got him a pair of reading glasses to watch TV with and if he wants ones to read the paper with he'll give him a prescription, but it doesn't seem to interest him anyway.

We will meet with the cancer Dr. next Monday. He had some labs drawn extra for some test. Hopefully they will tell us how his cancer is doing.

It has been spitting a little bit of rain out there today. We are still suppose to get 4-6" of snow tonight and tomorrow. Hope they are wrong, but it's nice to know we don't have to go out in it. Hope none of you are getting any of this and hope that had the bad weather already it is clearing up for you.

Kris that is a beautiful mermaid. It'll be interesting to see the big when you are attempting. It would be interesting to see how it is done. Good Luck!

Tubby was pretty nauseaed at the Outpt. Clinic and on the way home so he probably won't eat anything. I'll check with him and see if I can interest him in something.

Okay, I better go and call DD in Wisconsin, as the oldest GD had a partical hysterectomy today. I hope that it helps with some of the terrible pain she's been living with.

Take care everyone and God Bless you all.
Shirley

ok,, someting is wrong with my puter or mouse or just my silly self. Everything I typed earlier dissappeared??

Crissy>>> Can you please send a box that costs about $10.00 for postage? Do I need to send a money order?? Please let me know.

Betty, everything is freehand except the face. I pressed clay onto an garden fairy and then fired the resulting mold. Then I pressed clay into the mold and sculpted her down from there free handed. Chris did get the mermaid and says she loves it!!

I will take some pics and start a thread on the clay forums so you all can watch my progress!!

Going to work on the new mermaid.,.

Kris your envelope was mailed from Canada so might take a bitlonger to get there. Look forward to seeing progress.

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All !

Debbie - your DS is SO talented... I am proud of him too....

Wow - Laura - when it 'rains it pours' as they say... hopefully all will be back to 100% soon.

Barb & Shirley's Pressies are SO pretty ! Love the pic's !

Not much going on here... Mardi Gras unfortunately saw some horrible weather... not a good mix with partying... So I'm hoping all are safe...
No partying going on at our house... DH & I had to work, 2 of the 3 kids had to work...

Betty - wonder if the ipad could be a good present for MIL... seems like her computer never works... She likes to check email from time to time... not much else...maybe a little FB.....

I'll check back... I wish you all a peaceful night...

Goodmorning to all coffee is on.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning everyone, glad you made the coffee Laura as I'm a bit lazy this morning!

Too dark outside to decide what kind of weather it will be..if weatherman is right torrential rain for 2 days.lots of flooding...young girl lost her life on the weekend while playing with friends near riverbank....dangerous time this time of year.

Ann was over last mike, mike went for chemotherapy yesterday, he has lost 5 lbs. This last week, he's all but given up hope! Ann says he sleeps more and more, not eating anything ..through this all ann has on the surface gotten stronger, guess it's our defenses and need to get through the worse that does it.

She reminded me that it's time to turn the clocks this weekend. Hmmm didn't think it was. This soon in the month to do so..will check that out.

Mary, Ash Wednesday today! Sorry to hear the weather dampened the celebrations. My heart goes out to the organizers who put so much effort into the events...very disappointing!

Kris, going to check out the link

Bettty, that is so pretty! Looks nice and cozy!
Morning everyone!
Sorry to hear about the young girl.

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Morning!

I just got that first cup of coffee Laura, thank you and now if I had just made something to go with it. Oh well, once across the lips forever on the hips. I don't need that so I'll pretend I'm enjoying a piece of coffee cake. LOL

I'm glad to report that we don't have any snow on the ground as of yet. It's just cold, windy and cloudy out side right now. I'll have to check on the weather man in a bit.

It should be a quite day around here so I'll try to get things done. I've more laundry, but I have that all the time. I think I'll bake a bit and make some chicken and rice for supper.

Good day to all and hope and wish you all the best for the day. Drive careful for those with not such good weather and road conditions. We'll chat later.

Yes, Betty sorry to hear about that young girl and tell Ann that we are still saying prayers for them and give her an extra HUG from us. I feel her pain.

Shirley

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Checking in quickly today as it's going to be a busy one. Going shopping at Joann's for thread boxes, batting and spring patterns. Then it's off to Derry to pick up my Boston Common quilt from my quilter. Then it's off to Applebee's to have lunch with my DB and SIL , Then off to Walmart and Staples for food shopping and stuff and then home to unload the car. Then it's off again to DDs house for dinner! We will be one tired couple when we get home. This gas business has us planning for one trip and getting as much out of it as we can. It wouldn't be bad but we need to travel a minumum of 25 miles just for Joanns and then another 20 to get to my quilters home and my brother. It will end up being a 125-130 mile day before we are done...

Thanks for the coffee Laura - I"m going to need it. That and restrooms!!!

Prayers going out for Tubby's comfort. And for an easy day for you Shirley. You do amaze me with your energy...Betty I'm so sad to hear about Mike. My prayers continue for his comfort and for strength for Ann. It is such a difficult time for them. I'll post another card soon....

Going to wear my new earrings and glasses pendant today. I'm not used to my glasses being anywhere else but on my face!!! They are the first thing on in the morning and the last thing off at night. It's hard when you are near sighted in one eye and far sighted in the other. The only way I truly focus is with the glasses.

Off to the shower.
Have a wonderful day everyone.....

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Meant to add how much I liked that shawl pattern. Very nice....

Morning all, any hot tea around for me,, not a big coffee drinker, I have banana nurt bread here if anyone wants it??

I did not get alot done yesterday, Just a little laundry, and worked on organizing the new closet some more. Need to get pics when I am done. Yesterday we picked up some plants, vegie types. I got Romane lettece, bok coy cabbage, and broccoli, also got sweet pea seeds and carrots. So I will be keeping them in the house for about a week and checking the weather to see if we are going to get one last hard freeze before they go into the garden.

My hands HURT,, I forgot how hard clay is on the joints, but if I keep at it it generally gets less painful after a couple of days, I will take some Alieve today before I get started.

Forgot to tell everyone that when I went to the Doc last friday she has decided to test me for Gout, Lupus, and rumitiod arthritis (spelled wrong I know,,). I told her I am tired of the pain and it needs to stop NOW!! At 53 I should not be in this much pain. I went in for my x-rays and next will be having another MRI. I would so love to be able to get a job, do more work in the garden and just be able to walk not hobble!!

Now that I am through complaining I will be good for the rest of the day...lol

Shirly,,I am sending a great big ((((((((((((TUBBY )))))))))))))))))). Please make sure he gets it!!

Betty, You are sending me a gift?? AWWWWWWW how sweet. You are a doll, now I get to harrass the post man. lol.
Ok, going to catch up on my games and then off to the craft room, I feel a mermaid pulling at my soul,,,

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

BETTY Love the Pendant!!!! Thank you sooooooo much!!!

LOL Betty I know you keep asking and I keep not saying, I'm busy here at work this week for some reason and I just forget to post because I get interrupted all the time. Here's the link to her thread, that will be easier for everyone I think.

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1134061/

Kris how about a large flat rate box, I have no idea what size box ships for $10, I don't ship very often.

It's going to be 70* on Saturday, doing a happy dance!!!!!!

Betty he's been saying he's going to come up with something for a long time. I know he's family but YOU HAVE TO DO WHATS RIGHT FOR YOU!!!! Quit worrying about other people, they will be fine, with or without you!!!! What are they going to be, not fine??

We were going to go to Applebee's in Benton last night to have dinner and party but with the storms coming through we decided not to, they said they were going to be strong thunderstorms starting at 9pm through midnight, just not safe to be driving in that, and I'm glad we didn't. We only had one storm, it was a severe thunderstorm that came over right at 9pm and dropped golf ball sized hail right where we would have been parked! We just got a drowning of rain and a lot of lighting from it at the house.

Nice shawl!!!

Oh shoot Kris, I'm 38 and my body thinks I'm 80. I have bone spurs in my lower back, tendonitis in both my wrists/thumbs, a minor left knee injury that gives me pain every once in a while, whiplash on the left side of my neck from a wreck 3 years ago, my ankles swell every now and then but usually just one at a time, I'm a mess!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

http://postcalc.usps.gov/
Prices for postage boxes.
Large flat rate - $14.95 12" x 12" x 5-1/2

medium flat rate - $10.95 13-5/8" x 11-7/8" x 3-3/8" or
11" x 8-1/2" x 5-1/2"

small flat rate - $5.20 8-5/8" x 5-3/8" x 1-5/8"

Humm ok, go for the large flat rate box, but I cannot pay until Ralph gets paid next friday. We spent alot of money for the finishing touches for the bathroom. Now if he will just instal everything I will be soooooo happy!!

Thanks LK for the shipping rate info.

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Just make sure when you use flat rate boxes that the weight is more than 4lbs or what ever the smallest amount is to make it worth your wild. I was gonna use one, but the guy at the post office said it needed to weigh 4lbs or more to make it worth your wild or it ends up costing more. Just and FYI

Hey Shirley, how are you today?? It is raining here so I am hurting,, no playing in the clay for a while,,,sigh

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Already dmailed Betty to thank you but will again. LOVE BEV

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Well I've been trying to remove the chalking on the shower and replace it, but it's not an easy job. I'll get there eventually. I had to stop and take care of the TV for Tubby. The reciever has gone bad on the one in the living room, so had to call to get it replaced and then go get the one from the bedroom and hook it up so he can watch TV. I got that done, so tried to pay some bills on line and will go back to work in a few minutes.

It was snowing earlier, but not anymore. The clouds are to clear out later today and we are to warm up more each day. Should be around 60* by the weekend. We'll see if they know what they are talking about.

Okay, back to work now. Chat later. Hope you get to feeling better Kris!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Starting to snow to beat heck here, just hope it doesn't turn to freezing rain!!

Sitting here quietly, think of what you all might be up to, especially those of you who are in warmer areas..just keep thinking spring!!!

Bev, how are making out? You are more than welcome..

Well Paul came in today, met with me and Suzanne, he's looking for bigger offices, restructuring and wondering what he can do to make me stay?

We'll see, right now just want headache to go bye bye..

Be nice if Paul told us to head home incase it gets nasty

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Betty I sure hope Paul will let you go home early, especially since you can have the phones turned over. Hope goes well with wanting to retire. Yes it is hard to contend with family sometimes. Just drive careful going home. Okay!

I'm still working on the chaulking, Tubby just yelled at me to see where I was, that is why I'm up here right now. Will have a Diet Pepsi and a snack and go back. I'm close to being done. I need to patch a couple of places on the wall and then I'll scrub floor. I will wash the rugs and hang them to dry.

Chat later!

Victoria Harbour, ON

It's been years since I've suffered from migraines..guess it's mixture of weather changes, young ladies lol and needing eye glasses..yep..will all be on the mend shortly!

I downloaded an app LindaKay re playing scrabble, didn't pay much for it, thought I'd be playing against computer but nope it connects to play with someone on the internet..so now I have to go look for another app...

Shirley, just removed the caulking on mine, not easy..looks so clean when freshly done. Guess Tubby frets when he's all alone??? hard for you to get things done...you are quite the lady!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, there is a scrabble on the ipad that is free. It takes two players, or you can play both yourself.
Go to the apps store, search for scrabble, then sort it by free games.

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Well, I just took a pan of brownies out of oven and put the chicken dish in. Supper will be ready at 5:30 so come on over. I made a butterscotch pie and some tapioca pudding. I thought that maybe Tubby would eat some when nothing else sounds good. I've got the He thinks I'm nuts and I am. I may make a coffee cake in morning or some muffins.

The shower will look nice when done, I just wish there was an easier way to undo the chaulk. I would love to paint and lay the laminate floor. We'll see. I have to pull up the toliet and remove the vanity if I do. I may talk myself into it while I sleep tonight. Ha Ha!

Okay I better get back to work now. I've rested long enough. Chat later!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Shirley, dinner sounds yummy, I will be there shortly, save me a plate please?
Hope Tubby eats some too!

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

I have a wicked headache going also.....and the weather here matches my head!!! Strong wind, rain/snow mix and some sleet.

I have the hubby out on the grill (covered back porch) making cheeseburgers, cooked bacon, with lettuce and tomato....works for me!

Busy day here, another tomorrow with dentist appointments for DS first thing in the morning.

Oldest DD is a mess without her DH here....and her mind is making her crazy.

Debbie

Debbie, it has to be the weather, I have had one all day.. Just want to sleep but cannot. Ralph got called to work early so I am home alone with the animals. I think I am going to take my headache to the craftroom and at least try to get something done.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Synda, welcome to our stormy corner of the world, if you can pick me up on the way to Shirley and tubby's it would greatly be appreciated....
have not had butterscotch pudding in so long.....

What I did not need today was fighting a blizzard and icy roads, shaking me head NO! Terrible ride home..

Hope I'm not passing on my headache...

Supper is a cooking, tomato/hamburger macaroni over mashed potatoes, bit boring after what you are all eating..just had a hankering for it. Omg you should hear the wind howling..

Had a bath and now laying here with heating blanket on...thought I'd gab a bit so I stay awake and not forget the stove is on

Debbie it's hard for a newlywed to be without her hubby, she'll need extra motherly love

Shirley, so wish I lived closer, I love doing home renovations...I'd be an asset on you team

Lexington Park, MD

Ok if there is room in the car pick me up......I want the brownies.
I have had a headsche all day also.....the wheather maybe.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad I have the Acadia! It will seat 7! LOL!
Shirley, how many will fit at your table?

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, she is very like her mom....won't answer the phone, door, goes into hiding and sleeps....when she is upset like this. I bet her Mom misses her (smile).

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Betty, Thank God you are at home safe and sound !!!!! It's 47 degrees now but we are to get 6"-10" of snow tomorrow night...and with all the rain we have had today I have a sinus headache !

I don't need a table.......just a plate .........LOL !!!!

Rick brought me home a " Peace " Rose Bush tonight........It's just a bummer I ( he ) can't plant it until it decides to quit snowing.......
