Wow that teaches me... I spent 10 minutes posting and it's lost...
Doesn't that just take the "wind out of your sails"!?
Well - here's a half hearted attempt to re-create.....
LK - the scrabble shows up on the left side when I open FB.... does it show up there for you because it is a quick click to get there... Love Orange Rolls.... wondering when you are taking Dad up north....
Betty Choices...yes - the kids are struggling with them.... DS is so so sweet most times to me which is my downfall ..... Scrabble... I've tried to send you invites on FB.... they haven't gone through?
Shirley - so glad you said the "Path" ... it reminded me that perhaps this is meant to be and perhaps he will find his path somehow... Think a Brownie Breakfast is better than no breakfast at all... I mean if you break it down it may be better than the cereal or pancakes DSD's eat every morning... LOL..
Elf - so sorry to hear of the arthritis.... I'm sure I'll have it... all my grands did....
JUDY !!!! Growing wings... send it to Debbie or someone else.... I have ordered it... IT along with my new Author/LOVE Paul Fleischman books are in my Amazon Cart.... so when Dear Nephew told me what he wanted for bday... and I needed just one more item for "Super Shipper Savings" on wednesday... I added the book... so It's on it's way.......:) LOL... I should have it soon...
You needed a new Vacuum Cleaner ? That Sucks. (Sorry I HAD TO)....
Kid or Adult.. yes I need to think on that... that's probably the problem.... sending Prayer s for Danny & Family ... so sorry that's horrible......
I LOVE how Betty has customized the glass jewelry to everyone's personality... shows what a stellar artist she is.... I can "See" your personalities in the design and color she uses....
Debbie - YES LOVE having you and Judy to bounce problems off of...... at work .. .I'm the oldest the second oldest has 13 year old kids so no one could ever understand the problems I'm having... so THANK YOU everyone for letting me vent on here....
Okay I typed this all in a second since I lost my last post so sending with any and all errors LOVE you all and ((HUGS))
Mary
Best/worse/what did I learn toda?chat with friends
Morning all,
Judy, sending condolenscence, difficult to get such a call, know it is not your first call and that many memories will come back this next while....stay strong my friend and hope the fire ritual gave you peace
Special welcome to Holly! Holly, we have some very special ladies on the eastern coast here on the thread ...Your glass knobs sound that the perfect embellishment for such a project, do you also do woodworking?
Kris, great ideas, sure wish I had a yard of goodies such as you have, think of the treasures I could make
Barb, because of the weather we have had lately think our snowmobiling is all but over, lake has been flooded with inches of rain, hope your kids can get another weekend of it! Am anxious to see your quilt, what did she charge, wonder if it's a standard rate they go by..sounds as they the grandchildren are having a ball with grandma/grandpa, amazing how much knowledge these little ones have on computers, likely because they aren't intimidated
Mary, how did the commercial shoot go, you were concerned seeing as this was their first ....how is the birthday boy? Glad things are getting back to the norm...weather co operating for you so that you can play in the garden this weekend? Cannot believe some of you are already getting 60's
While I type they are saying some bus cancellations due to weather, perhaps more do to ice than snow...omg isn't it terrible about the quake in japan? Never used to be weather like this..we must be doing something that's changing the elements
Bev, you are quiet...time to post a few of your photo's....that usually gives you and the rest of us a lift...maybe your favorite garden photo from last season
if it gets lighter before I head out to work I'll take a photo of the primitive one I did as workshop, had to be primitive so that it could be done in a day...so dark and gloomy not sure if I'll see the daylight! Raining out there, would imagine if it continues all weekend as they are calling for much of our snow will be gone...lordy, they were saying that we can expect snow off on until 2nd week of April..one more month.

Goodmorning to all.
Debbie that is just the most amazing news. I bet Shane is on cloud 9.
Judy so sorry to hear of your loss.
Elf I just love love the table. I am sitting here trying to figure out where I can put one because I would love to build it.
Off and running another busy day.
The rain and wind last night was kinda scary.
Have a good day to all...
Morning -
Judy I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, our prayers are with you and Dannie's family and gentle HUGS to all of you.
Betty drive careful as I know you will. It is to get in the low 60's today and then cool down for the week end and then back up. We will do this roller coaster ride for awhile.
Well I have lots of old doors and windows and old wood so come on over and we'll make potting stands together. I like the one with the window as I want to paint on the glass. I have a picture stand that sits on the ledge going down into the family room. Tubby made it out of an old window and built a box in front from old barn wood. I have silk greenery in the box and I can change the pictures out as he made the back to come off. He made me shelves from the old barn wood that I use to have at the beauty shop, but now they hang in the dining room with roosters and chickens on them. He really is very talented. I went looking for the wood to put around the windows downstairs, but I will have to buy some. I need 1x6 and all I have is 1x4. I decided to stain everything before I paint or lay the flooring.
Tubby is stirring so I will go get him up for the day. I'll chat a little later. Have a great day everyone!
Shirley
Thanks for the welcome, I do see a few familiar names. No I don't do woodwork but my guys Ric and my adult sons do. I am a crafter though.
Yesterday I did a little gardening with a friend, it was such a nice day and I came home with such a good feeling thinking how chores shared with a friend are so much easier to do. DG is a bit like that even though my DG friends aren't here physically to share the work, I can talk about what I did and post before and after pics, get some encouragement and ideas.
My friend had knee replacement surgery a few weeks ago. She needed her house plants cleaned, treated and watered so we set up a chair for her to sit near her plants with a stool for me and I would get the plants and bring them to her so she could work on them. Boy they all looked so good when we were done, I took my computer along so she could see the pic's from our recent trip to the Phila Flower Show and had lunch and watched a show we both enjoy. It was a really nice day.
Happy Birthday Susan!
I didn't realize it was your birthday, but sure hope you have a great day. Do something fun and exciting.
Yes Holly WELCOME! Forgive me for not saying that sooner. This is the best group of gals you'll ever meet.
I don't have the picture thing down yet, so will have to wait till I get it all figured out. Then look out.
Wasn't able to get Tubby up yet as he in too nauseaed to move around.
Linda Kay love the cake, I'll take a piece with my coffee as soon as Susan blows out the candles. Were there enough candles or too many? LOL
I hadn't heard about the earthquake in Japan, but sorry to hear it. May God be with them all. I don't get to see the news since Tubby only watches the Western channel. It'll be good when the new reciever arrives today, so I can have the one back for the bedroom.
Will finish my coffee and get to work on something. I've got alot of things to get done today.
Good morning, and Happy Birthday Susan!
Yes, definately keeping the people of this world in prayer....so many affected. DH"s cousin Rachel is on Hawaii....she said on Facebook that she is on higher ground just behind Diamond Head. So praying her and her hubby will be safe.
Today we are rushing to get DS off to Syracuse. I have lemon poppyseed and banana walnut muffins in the oven for breakfast, and then he has to be at the school at 10:30....but pulls out at 11:00.
So much going on in this world, I am a nervous wreck about him going. My "mom flags" are flying big time!
Here is a picture of "my boys" from the talent show last night. These are a few of the gang that have been hanging out here lately, still missing two. lol
JJ (vocals), Dylan (drums) Sam (bass) and Shane (guitar & a little vocals)
Sending huge prayers and hugs to you Judy. I'm so sorry for your loss. And huge prayers to Jaye who has family in the Phillipines. And to all who are suffering through this calamity. I, too, Betty wonder what we ahve done to the earth to cause all these huge weather changes. Rachel Carson wasn't so far off was she????
Off to get Sean to school. Love you all...
Didn't mean to slight you Susan. Happy Birthday my dear!!!!
Welcome Holly. Glad to have you here with us.
Yes prayers for all that are in the earthquake and tsunami zone.
Shirley, Get that pic thing down. We love pics.
Debbie, Mary, Judy and all have a good day. I am going to work outside this and next week in the 60s. Don't worry I will go at it slow and easy. YUK!!!!
Here is your pic Betty. LOVE BEV
Happy Birthday Susan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(((((((((((((((((((((Judy))))))))))))))))))))) So very sorry for your loss. Wish I was there to hug you more.
Debbie, Congrats to your son.
Shirley.. I love brownies and consider them a wonderful source of food,,,,lol
I am going to meet a fellow DGer today. She lives about 40 miles from me and we are meeting half way between us at the Cracker Barrel. I found her on Craigslist, she was asking if anyone has a friendship plant so I wrote and told her I did, then we exchanged a few calls and now today we are going to meet!! She is not a paid member and I told her she should join as we are a friendly bunch!!
After I get back I am going to try to work on some more clay. Then I am painting the bathroom cieling and hopefully painting the trim that ralph cuts for the bathroom so we can install it. I wanted to paint it before putting it up because it will be easier on my back and foot, and arms,,,welll you get the idea,, just better all the way around.
ok,, off and running,,, If I missed anyone,, so sorry.... You do know us elves have tiny brains right?? lol..
Debbie that's a great picture of the gang. They look like a very nice bunch of guys. Shane is a handsome fella. You should feel proud. I'd love to have one or two of those muffins, but since I couldn't make it in time, I had a brownie. LOL
Mud Elf you are too funny - little brains. Have a good time at Cracker Barrel as we'll all think of you while you are enjoying your meal and visit. Drive careful.
Love the pictures Bev. Have a great day.
Barb have a great day also.
Welcome Holly! Glad you found us!
Morning Bev, nice to see your lovely photo's! Beautiful! How are you feeling?
Well, right now the entire west coast in under alert, and they are telling everyone to get up, start moving eastward. The tsunami is suppsoed to hit there in about an hour. 40 - 50 mph winds, and waves are supposed to be 3 - 8 feet. Lets pray they are not that bad?
Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy birthday dear Susan, Happy birthday to you...I know, enough of the singing, soooo off key but did want to wish you the best...imagine, hapving a birthday on Friday, what a way to start your weekend! Tell me, does this new company give birthdays off???? Hope so..how are you planning to celebrate?
Was so laughing this morning, went outside, had just done my hair, had camera in hand and took a few photo's of the planter unit and chair planter, came back in soaking wet and had to do my hair again, not a good plan, then, only to find out when I type and add photo it comes up with an internet caution so have to learn what to do with this new camera that allows me to show photo's..also took photo of the material I washed and pressed that will be for the Woodland Quilt AND close to the house to show you about 6" of water sitting there, I'll be amazed it I don't have a flood in the basement.
Was raining heavily when I left home this morning but as I neared Barrie, snowing like crazy, just doesn't know what to do..
Barb, in response to my saying 'don't know what we're doing to change the weather' either we're being bad and the end is coming, chalk that off my list..lol OR what we're sending up into space and the changes in rivers/forests that we are not paying enough attention to..not the brightest crayong in the box so not up to me to find a reason but hope someone is...not sure who Rachel Carson is Barb, can you tell me her theory so I don't use what's left of my brain trying to figure it out AND don't forget the photo of the quilt..anxiously waiting to see it!
Am sending prayers for all those affected and sure hope the Jaye's family is ok. With some of the after effects coming along the cost of USA and Canada sure hope it's not as powerful as first thought...
Bev, what I like most about that photo is that you've created a garden of same color flowers, think that's where I go wrong, I plant every color of plant imaginable in same area...have a few gardens I want to create or enlarge so will focus one of same color..how about you all???? are yours mixed or themed color??? Thanks Bev, should try and put it on my desktop if it's ok with you?? Actually maybe if it is ok I'll try and figure out how to put a photo on the desktop of my ipad...it would look sooo springy.
Cannot see 1" out there, had lots of plans for after work, think they will change and I'll be going straight home..did want to go to the Garden Gallery, remember I told you about all the primitive frog's and signs made out of wood that i saw a few weeks ago, well Darlene's birthday is a week tomorrow and how she loves garden art..I could buy her one, take pattern of it and make me a couple..Mother's Day will soon be upon us and just know she'd love one as well..all done in unplayned wood-rough cut.
Doesn't that sound like the plan, my only concern is once I go and look at them I'll want to buy one of each and that's a no/no..the one I think Darlene would love is $79.99..can't buy 2 or 3 for sure
Debbie, sure hope you are not getting this weather seeing as you've running around to do, wouldn't be good..is it something you could put off until Monday? Nice having the boys hang out at your place, mine always had their friends over, sometimes it was frustrating as I wanted to clean or have a clean den but they never got into mischief hanging out on the street corners! Now, it's nice to see them together, just like my own family and they always make such a deal when they see me...bet the show was spectacular and they got a standing ovation right?
I'm sure there is one in every group, lol, I called this particular boy 'Eddie Haskel, from Leave it to Beaver' many of you are much too young to know of him, he was the boy that kind words, soft talk kind of child' one that every mother would love to have, lol, that was until your back was turned..too funny, he was in the house telling me how great my food was (now we all know about my cooking), then how pretty I looked in the outfit I was wearing, how he always felt at home when he was at my place, on and on and on...then out the door he'd go, this one day my craft room was on top floor overlooking the lake, no sooner did he go out with plate in hand did he set the plate on the deck, pulled down his trousers and mooned the house..took me about 2 seconds to go out on top deck and give out a yell...to this day when I see him I call him Eddie....lol..
Kris, have fun with your DG friend, I sooo enjoy meeting DG friends, they truly are as captured on the thread and sometimes even better..wish I had won that 127 million dollar lottery ticket drawn in N.Y. on Tuesday because I had big plans for us all...guess now I have to buy one on the 50 million being drawn tonight..hey, why not all give me your favorite number and I'll play them for fun...I always quick pick but I might have better luck doing your random numbers. What is a friendship plant, is it just a plant that a friend gives you? Tell us all about your visit..my favorite meeting place, Cracker Barrel..
Holly, you say 'crafter' can you tell us what you craft? Some pretty talented people here on this thread...I'm sure your friend was appreciative of all you did for her in the garden..can you share photo's...nothing like seeing a freshly worked garden???
Shirley, Tubby will not be able to go out for appts. feeling as nauseated as he is???? You tell him we all send our best, and give him a big smooch for us won't you.

LindaKay, might it hit California? Know they say perhaps Vancouver B.C.
Guess it wasn't too bad in Hawaii from what the newscaster said but then he said at the time it was 4:30 a.m. and dark so who knows...
Betty, they say it is suppsoed to hit the whole west coast. winds at 30 - 50 miles per hour, and waves 3 - 8 feet! lets pray it calms down before it reaches there. I was just reading on facebook, that it hit Hawaii with about 3 foot waves. Minor damage.
Lauging at wally and his mooning the house! LOL!
Bev, talk about a pretty screen saver, I'm right in your garden..pretty/pretty! What is a 'grabber'?
Snow has just stopped so if it all stays the same till 3:00 pm I'll head out to the Garden Gallery, as well, need to stop and get the 2 patterns from Craighurst and see that the Spirit of the Northwoods is calling for stabilizer yardage, hope she has some..
Lindakay, am hoping that as the day progresses the situation will diminish..have been looking at the news and talk about destruction in Japan, hard to imagine isn't it? Lordy, should be doing the happy dance that nothing more than rain and snow hits my neck of the woods..
Betty, we have some heavy wind right now....and a drizzle of rain.
No, my running couldn't wait. I have been running since 7:30 this morning. Made the muffins as I said, had to run to the bank to get Shane a few $$ for food on the trip, picked up his prescription he needed to take with him, and just some odds and ends needed. He is on the bus now, headed for Syracuse. We will leave here tomorrow morning to go join him for the afternoon competition.
Yes, the boys are very much like the "Beaver" crew. I think you meant Eddie Haskell, the "yes Mrs. Cleaver" troublemaker ....Wally was actually pretty calm! lol
The next two weeks will be very busy with Shane with all going on. So I am just going with the flow and enjoying it while I can.
Bev, your gardens are just beautiful. Wish I was close enough to come dig up the flowers you don't want and take them.
Grrrr, phone, be back
Debbie, went and changed Wally, now I know it was Eddie Haskel, lol, must be something on my mind about a Wally, perhaps it was thinking where else other than Wallyworld that I could get my glasses quickly! lol
With all that running around I'm sure you are tired but thing is you'll so miss it when you don't have to do it anymore, house seems so big at times and talk about quiet..so enjoy while you can. Will be a nice outing for you tomorrow!
Now I've got daisies on my monitor home page Bev, drats, wonder if I can figure out how to get them to change from time to time..you just got to know I'm going to try the last photo as well..
Debbie, we need to take another road trip to Bev's
I will be MIA most of today! We have a leak out on the back porch where we have our hot water heater. We have the main water valve turned off, so now we are digging up dirt, to find the pipes, and see what kind of damage we have! UGHHH!!!
Later
OMG no, Lindakay, just what you needed before heading to Michigan..not good! Hope it's not where a lot of damage can happen
I'm almost afraid to go home tonight, this morning when I took photo's you could see about 4 to 6" of water sitting right at the foundation..let's hope it finds an easier path to escape than in my family room
Debbie, remember that little town we stopped at, where all the Lincoln stores where then we travelled about 10 miles to get to his birthplace???? can you remember the name..doing travel plan for me and the girls going south on May long weekend - 5 days..want to include some rest areas..
Think I found it Debbie, think it's Hodgenville Kentucky! While looking on the internet came across a photo and I think it's right where I was standing when that couple stopped me to say 'I was pretty' lol..remember that! Made my day!
Yes, and the name Elizabeth town comes to mind also.
Betty, Elizabeth town is one that we went thru to get there.

I have a brother in Maui, one of my sisters just spoke to him , then called me...so far all is not too bad there...some big waves...but not bad "sigh of relief" ahhhhh.....was just sitting here talking about him...and my sister called.....I can not call anyone, phone screen is broken, and I can't tell "where I am" on the phone ??!!! My sister said she called my cell a few times, and when she did not get a call back she decided to call the house.#...thank goodness...as I was worried about my brother, but did not want to call my Momma, and get her (more) worried.....Momma and sister both talked to him.....ahhhhh....
thoughts and prayers to all in need.....
Thunder glad all is well with family members..such a worry when you cannot get in touch. Should go check the internet and see how the west coast is doing?
Nice plant Kris, bet it was nice meeting Crystal..tell me, did you break down and buy something at the CrackerBarrel?
Yikes, have a coughing jag going on here, sure glad only another hour left in my week...Debbie did find it and could almost tell you from the photo on the Hodgenville what was for sale in the stores..lol why?? because in one of them I could have bought almost every items...
Ohhhhhhh.. It is called Golden Elf!! How cool is that!! Here is link to the plant file.
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/160697/
No,, We did not even go in, we got to talking outside and then she had to be somewhere else and Ralph wanted to get home. But she has a blog spot and a place online where she sells these plants. I am going to check all that out now.. Be back in a little while with a report!!
She has some really nice plants!! Check her out!!
http://doleaf.com/stores/gold-hill-plant-farm
Someone please cut my head off, pounding like crazy, can't even touch the back of my head right above neck lie...don't think I've taken this much drugs in past 20 years....ouch...was going to the garden gallery but it was snowing and I just wanted to get
Can't get to the quilt shop during the week ad I did not want to have to go back tomorrow so stopped and got supplies and the two patterns..knew one was the 12 months of Christmas but wasn't sure what the 2nd one was, it was the eagle, stunning, will have to take a photo, some may want to do it!
Kris, will check the site later....
Going to lay down...gab later
Betty my love....go to the ER. I am thinking in one of your last falls, you injured your neck/head ....and you need it checked out....NOW.
Doesn't matter if you remember hitting your head or not, a jolt and such can really do damage.
In my early twenties....I threw something so hard, it messed up my shoulder and my neck, I was in a neck brace for four weeks and required injections for pain. SO PLEASE go get checked.
Go get checked out Betty. This has gone on too long. My neighbor Ernie fell last Mon and hit her forehead on a steel door and Wed we took her to ER. She is in a neck brace. She fractured a bone in her neck. Please HUGS BEV
OMG! Betty if your head is pounding that much it is a warning to go to the ER. There could be a number of reasons for this. If you take BP meds they may not be working right, please dear girl go. If I was near to you I would take you myself and not even ask. Please Please go. Let us know what you find out we are all very concerned.
