Thought I'd move us over to this new room! Know we thought it would now be a sun filled room but once again some of us are having coffee looking out at gardens covered in white...thank goodness some of you are playing in the dirt already and will share you experiences....
Came from here...

Best/worse/what did I learn toda?chat with friends
Oh I like the new room Betty.
Laura, see you posting a bit more, are you able to get downstairs more or have you managed to get computer and sewing room upstairs? Omg I so misunderstood your post being on wrong thread...laughing now to myself in thinking you had completed 16 quilt blocks...lol
Debbie, watching news and it's showing how much snow n.y. Had, unbelievable...heading further east, hope Laura and barb it doesn't end up in your neighborhood!
Newscaster says spring battling winter, more to come
Doing alot better. I am not able to lift anything over 10lbs. I know this and just try to do things I should not.
No way to move sewing room and computer room.
It rained so hard here last night and the wind today is terrible.
Awaiting spring........
It was a pouring down rain here today Betty. Farther north of me got about 12 inches of new snow but we got the rain. My snowbanks have gone down considerably and I actually saw a spot of dirt/grass where Norm had made a path to the bird feeders. And my deck is almost clear of snow too!!!! I'm almost afraid for it all to melt away as then I'll see the damage from the snow that we had to clear off the roof. I'm pretty sure we are going to lose all the shrubs we had around the house..I'm glad though that our house is up on a hill and we are not getting any flooding. Some areas are having a really hard. time. Off to finish the dinner dishes.....Chat more later..
Laura, wouldn't take very much to total 10 lbs. Would it, means no 2 lifting the children, garbage bags,laundry....have you had this before? Hmm did I ask that before? You aren't getting water in your basement are you?
Barb, shrubs can take a lot of pounding, might take a year or two..I lost
2 cedars last year, will replace them when on sale...as you say you are blessed with being on higher ground..I dId have flooding issues for a few years but since I closed in the bottom deck which keeps snow about 10 ft away from basement brick it seems to have helped....touch wood, watch me flood now!
Betty, that snow all hit where my friend that was here visiting lives up near Binghamton. She had about 18 inches.
Thanks Debbie..maybe I copied it incorrectly
Wow Debbie, wasn't the best time for her to visit was it? She got home safely hopefully before the storm was in full swing...what did you get into today?
Not quite sure why it posted twice soooo erased it..

Betty, today I started working on some bills and such. I had Shannon home all day with a stomach bug....Shane came home during study hall with a stomach ache and headache, so made him some tea and took him back to school. Made some boiled peanuts, and also got things ready for dinner.....and ended up taking a nap from 4:00 to 6:00. Just passed right out.
Kim left after I saw her Saturday afternoon and got home before the bad weather hit. So, she timed that perfectly.
Lets hope it's not something that goes through the household, hate to see you all down with something! You are likely run down with all the running you do, won't hurt resting for a few hours in the afternoon
Guess it's your turn now to go visit Kim ?
Betty, I would love to go visit her...but not any time soon. Such chaos here, and so much going on the next few months. Shanes Senior year is packed with so much. We do have to travel to Syracuse this Saturday (2 1/2 hour drive) for his Aca-Dec competion, this is the Statewide one. He goes up on Friday with the teammates. School musical is in two weeks....and practice right now every night.
Ok,, Secret project has landed and So here are the pics I promiced!
#1 My first ever sculpted Mermaid, Goober accidently steped on it and broke the tail...whaa. So I was going to throw it out. But I was told if I was going to throw it out I could throw it all the way to Iowa. So I finally decided to do so..

Hello To All !
Well Kris / Elf - you are such a talented artist ! WOW - I could never figure out how to do anything like that... Very sweet face..... very lucky for her new owners / home.....
Thanks Deb ((HUGS))... SO... so so ... school musical ? Do Tell... who is involved ?
(((HUGS))) Shirley ! Nice to have a regular day sometimes !
LK - so time for Dad to head up north.... Does the heat bother him? I would think it gets pretty hot there... what's going on with your gardening? have you gotten outside yet?
Betty - So curious as to the path you will take with the IPAD... do you like it so far? You seem to... Kyle is such a stellar young man.... 14/15? and already looking to save up for a snowmobile...what a huge goal !
Yes - I am WAITING on your visit LOL.... Tell Darlene to bring you.... :) I'm not going anywhere soon so take your time.... By the way.. .YES your comments are VERY helpful... reminding me that there is "light at the end of the tunnel" where DS is concerned....things WILL get better...
Laura - You and me both.. I can't wait for Spring.... It looks like it's coming early (knocking on wood)....
Dianne.... Well - I've been in Louisiana for 24 years... DH is the native/Catholic..... He doesn't say "Shrove Tuesday" we say Mardi Gras which means "Fat Tuesday".... I've got to learn more on that... Usually I'd be off on Tuesday ..the kids are off from school.... however NOT with this new job... so unfortunately ... we'll just both head to work.....no traditions ....
I have a "Shoot" tomorrow.... which means we are shooting a TV Commercial for a new Grocery Store that will be advertising with us.... It's a very nice family... with 5 locations and they've never done TV before so I'm a bit nervous that we do a GOOD job for them.... Production is NOT my "forte".....
Susan - ((HUGS)) I know you are on the positive side too... I suppose it's Defense mechanism... LOL.... What I have to be these days...
Hugs to all,
Mary
I have been outside, but so far, nothing much is coming up. I have one camelia blooming, and a few of my roses have a few buds. I think I lost all my angel trumpets. Still early though, so will have to wait a few more weeks and see what may come back...
Good luck on the shoot to morrow!
Mary DS is in the PIT band for musical. They are doing PT Barnum and I am excited to see it. Shane will be playing guitar, saxophone and .....he learned a new instrument for this. Banjo! HIs band teacher is just amazed.
I have daffodils up Linda....with six inches snow on top of them!!!
I need to hit the bed. Have to be up and moving in the morning. Next few days are busy.
ALmost miss my broken foot so I can rest!
Debbie
Thank you LK....
I would think your Angel Trumpets are OKAY as mine are...... AND you are warmer than we are.... I've got shoots coming up... so I would think yours will as well.... If not... tell me how to send you some....
Our camellia's are blooming too.... MUCH more coming up than last year... we only have one rose.......
((HUGS))
Mary
Debbie - that is AWESOME ! Please send us pics or a link if you video it !
Morning all,
Sitting here with coffee in hand , made an entire coffee pot so come sit and have one, sorry, only bagged cookies for munching on!
Kris love your mermaid and am sure that Chris will cherish it. Is it ceramic and do you have a kiln for firing...if so, how on earth would you get a 5foot piece fired...as I'm typing it came to me, it could be plaster? Was thinking if it wasn't glazed you could add a mixture of moss liquid so that it would grow on the entire piece!
Thunder, am impressed with how quickly you got your piece...couldn't have personally driven it there any quicker.
Mary, I do love the iPad and no I've decided to keep this model, no need for me to have camera to see others with same when on skype or quicker service..for all I do I'll take the $100 rebate. Mardigras translated in English is fat Tuesday..ooooh lent is coming, best I start thinking what I will give up..any ideas.
Mary and Linda Kay, mixed feelings when you start walking the gardens at what survived and what was lost..be quite some time before I'll get to see my garden..always want to start weeding much to soon and end up loosing much..best to be patient and let mother nature do her thing
As I'm typing news and weather is on...
Yikes the were showing Quebec snowfall, some areas got 4 feet, clearing a problem..
Sunny today but will have heavy rains for the next 2 days. With freezing rain at some point, maybe I'll see my gardens before I thought.
Guess I'll wait until Friday afternoon to go to the city to the apple store, I'd leave it but there is only a 2 week window to take advantage of the rebate
The mineralogy convention is on in Toronto this weekend and they have the unit that brought the Chilean minors up from their ordeal on display, would be interesting to see
Well it's time I get moving, Paul will be in the office and I need to meet with him and I must get some of my thoughts together
Debbie, no wonder you are so proud of Shane, very talented young man..can you take photos of the production for us?
Morning everyone! Thanks for the coffee and cookies Betty!
Good morning,
Betty, I think maybe after you have this meeting with Paul...your headaches might ease up a bit....yes? Have you been worrying about too much and dealing with that?
I always have my camera and will defiantely be taking pictures. Which reminds me...I remembered my camera Saturday....and walked out without taking pictures of you Betty!!! I was so upset, was in front of Eastern Hills Mall....when I realized.
Morning all,

Betty, She was made with low fire clay ( fired to 1918 degreesF ) and yes, I have a kiln.
As for the large mermaid. She will be fired also, however I will be doing her in sections and then she will hopefully go together like a puzzle with the seams well hidden. Again I say HOPEFULLY....lol . I have started the head and next will work on the torso. As I work on her I have to keep everything wet so that it will all dry evenly and shrink the same. At least that is my goal!! I am doing this all from a kind of fuzzy idea and so it will be interesting to see what happens. Also she is not going to be a statue, rather she is foing to be a 3D relief comming out of a wall. She will be set up as part of the wall for the new fish house I am going to be building.
Kris that is gorgeous!!! So how big of a box did you want for the canna?
Betty the Director always gives up chocolate. I think he's nuts.
Glad you made the eye dr appt Betty. There could be a thousand reasons you keep getting headaches, riding in a car for 4 1/2 hours through a blizzard would give me a headache!
Dearest Betty, My lovely pendant and earrings arrived today and they are just beautiful. I LOVEthem and they will always be special to me. Thank you so much.....Are we allowed to take pictures? I did anyway but it doesn't do them justice. What a nice thoughtful gift......

Oh my gosh, that is beautiful!!
Barb, they are to hang your glasses on so you don't loose them..just a little something to say how much you mean to me....
Been busy today, can't believe it's almost 3pm..tried this quitting thing again, didn't get very far..maybe one day when I don't show up he'll believe me!!!
How's your mom Crissy???? keep asking but you don't tell me..lol
Kris, do you free form it with clay, omg that's talent
Betty, just put a big yellow post it note on his computer. I QUIT!!! LOL!
That will get his attention. Will you be able to draw any kind of pension, or retirement when you do quit?
I already get all the pensions I'll get..started at the age of 55..
Long story why I want to quit..lol..let's just say working with his 2 young daughters isn't always fun!
It is so hard working with family!
Sending you ((((((HUGS)))))))
