Crabapple....
Weather in your garden # 90
had a 3.5 hour commute in this morning due to the freezing rain - saw at least 30 cars off the road and a couple flipped over on the roofs - even a front bumper with the license plate left behind. if i know it was going to be this bad i would have worked from home.
heavy rain the rest of the day
Good grief.....glad you made it to work OK, Bill....should be better going home.....have not checked with my son.....hope he left late as there has been a lot of icing here as well.
Slip sliding away......
40 and the rain has stopped for now. Lots of flood advisories and flash flood warnings. The indoor riding arena at DD's college is flooded. No riding classes today! They even had to move some horses to makeshift stalls because of the flooding. On the up side, the snow is melting.
water in the basement. It looks like it's drying. It's along just one wall. I think the dehumidifier is helping.
Glad you made it safe and sound Bill, hope the trip home is better.
Sorry to hear about all the flooding J2, hope not too much water in your basement.
Still snowing here, we are due for a change over to sleet and freezing rain soon. We are now at 30 degree's and climbing, supposed to hit 38 today but I'm not sure we will make it.
OK, now 32°f with freezing rain/rain mix...it's sloppy out there!
Geez...hope you all warm up soon...
You're gonna kill me.
the high was 65° today(ducking my head)
Rained all day
Warmed up nicely after a very icy start. Thundering and lightning then lots of heavy fog, but up into the high 50's! Still have a bunch of snow though.
Same here. Still have some to go.
Wow, we missed the thunder! I was in Torrington & Goshen this afternoon....maybe that's when it hit! Forties for the next several days.....should feel like spring!
Heard a few rumbles. I have a cool iPhone app now that alerts me when there is lightning in a specified radius. It tells where it is and how far away. Pretty cool.
My dogs need that!
that is cool.. guess it would come in handy when you are hiking
Cool, you don't have to guess where the lightning is!
... you can go straight to where it hit last and wait to take a pic! (lol!!)
basement is drying out. Rain and melting snow is never a good combination. A friend of mine lost everything in her basement.
Oh, how awful. Sorry to hear.
Victor that app would be perfect for my bil's sister, she's been struck by lightning 2X
Luckily, no thunder here.
Sun all day.I'm spraying for deer.
thanks for the reminder JoAnn
tee hee
I feel better now. Just sprayed for deer. Ive been waiting until the snow wasnt so deep and watching my Lacecap Hydrangea get clipped now and then.

Gosh, Jen.....unlucky lady to have been struck twice! Jumper, the Weather Channel has been showing videos of all the flooding in your area.....very nasty! Sunny and 27 here....going up to high 30's, low 40's.....will walk today!
Got a full day of heavy work done yesterday except for an hour and a half during mid day when it was raining. We went for a long drive around Nantucket. West end had huge waves and blowing wicked hard, well over 50MPH. I could barely stand. When we got back to the house the rain was gone, so we worked until dark. Moved 7 shrubs and cut down tons of dead or unsightly branches off mostly cedar trees and scrub oaks and hauled all of it to the burn pile area in the middle of the front yard. Now have enough for 3days of huge fires so far. We will start burning on Thurs, I hope. The back cedar woods looks fabulous.
Today sunny, 35 and blowing around 10MPH with lots of much higher gusts. Out to work. We are going to try to build stairs up a steep slope with some stones and are going to be working on new beds on either side of the stairs. My DH should never have left me alone with my friend who is game to dig up more areas then me. He loves using the chainsaw. We are going to the nursery today too. I want to add a couple of beach plums along our property line. DH comes back tomorrow. He will like all the work once it is done, plus he loves beach plums. My Bad. Patti
No one realizes how diffacult island living is.
My GF has a daughter who lives on Nantucket.
She came west for the month of Feb. Was slated to return Monday the 28th,Those winds keep her here.
Traveling with twins and an aged dog and making motel arrangements and Ferryboat reservations is hellon earth.
They cant get onto the island until later this week.
The weather and boats are key.
Dont go to Nnatucket in the summer unless you reserve boat room months in advance.
I dont envy you Patti altho it must be easier with just you and DH.
It snowed/rained/ sleeted/ you name it yesterday. Today it is sunny and 21 at the moment. High 33F. w/winds WNW at 15 to 25 mph which will make the windchill drop the temp back into the teens.....I can't win!
Sunny and breezy this morning the high expected is 45°
Can we see a slow change comming?
Do we see posting highter temps more often?
YES Hooray.
34° here, wind from the Northwest at 21 mph, our windchill is 19° and we have overcast skies overhead.
Going up to 40° today, clouds clearing out throughout the day, becoming mostly clear tonight.
Tonight's low will be about 28°.
Wow - crazy, Jen. Stay away from her!
Much colder today. 35 and sunny, but windy.
Don't need to tell you what she does when she hears thunder...LOL
I sprayed Liquid Fence the other day...more for the rabbits..I see some tulips tops have already been munched
I need to spray.
27° & sunny.
40 and sunny. Alot of snow has melted.
There was a lady that got swept away yesterday morn, in her car. They found this am. Very sad. It was in the town 20 min south of me.
The Erie, OH and Huron,OH is the counties. The city of Huron is in Erie county. Very sad.
The Huron river goes into Lake Erie at the city of Huron.
