Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends..

Home again and waiting for the Ham&Bean soup to heat up. That's what Tubby wants for supper. He is napping now. It's pretty cold out today so he was really chilled when we got home. He has his heated throw on and will let him sleep till soup ready.

I got called into work for tomorrow AM. I'll work 7 - 11. I had scheduled the Sears man to come take a look at the refrigerator and called back to reschedule. It seems that the stuff in the refrigerator wants to freeze up even though I turned the dials. They said they had time in the afternoon when I called the first time, but fifteen minutes later when I called back they couldn't come until Thursday now. I really don't believe they filled up that fast, I just think the gal didn't want to cooperate. Oh well, I guess I lived with it this long what's a few more days.

Crissy my DM always said what's the use of buying a car if you are going to park it in the garage. LOL
She was never afraid to drive any place and usually was ready to go, so she always put lots of miles on her vehicles. I always enjoyed driving and going. I must have inherited that from her. Now we don't want her on the road for very long, always afraid she will forget where to go or get lost.

Betty it was strange being able to put going out clothes on and some makeup. I haven't done that in a very long time. I usually just am in my every day clothes and they are not anything special. I don't get dressed up just to run into the clinics or grocery stores, I'm not out to impress anyone. I must be getting older or I just don't care is probably the truth.

I had a really nice time with my old girlfriends. They each gave me a little gift and bought me lunch. It was great to see them. We visited for 2 1/2 hrs. I ran to Wally World and got dog food and cat food. I will unload that tomorrow when I get home. I'll pick up some corn for the chickens on Wednesday.

Okay, I better go check on the soup and finish hemming the one side of the comforter that I cut in half. I'll start on the other half yet tonight and then I can attach them to the big comforter. I'm gonna sew my brother some new pillow casings for his feather pillows that I washed and need to add some more feathers too. I think that should take care of the sewing for a little while.

I'll try and check back later this evening, but if I don't have a great evening and sweet dreams to you all.

Betty forgot to tell you to let Ann know we are saying prayers for them both. I think you probally pulled something when you fell last time, you may need a muscle relaxer and a heating pad and stay down for a bit so it has time to heal. You take care of yourself girl.

Well the bathroom floor is FInally ready to tile!! I am so excited!! I will be working on that tomarrow!!

And other than that I have been working on getting a few suprize boxes sent out to some very special folks. I just love it when Ralph gets an unexpected bonus check!! Now I can repay a couple of folks who have been very kind to me!! There is a Super Garden Center in Tiftin Ga. They have the very best plants and incredably good prices too. Ralph takes me there every time we go to Jekyll Island. Speaking of which, we are going to have our whole family go to Jekyll Island in August of 2012. It will be the first time in YEARS we have all gotten together. A week on the Beach is just what I need and I will ahve all three of nmy grand kids there too!!

Gryphon turned 13 on the 12th of this month and all he wanted was vintage how to draw books by Walter Foster,, Wierd Huh?? I found him 34 of them on e-bay for 35.00 so it was a great day for him!! Now he is asking to take classes in painting!! Got to see where I can arrange for that to be done.

How's the elf gardens? I must admit that I haven't seen your latest posts on the gardens, but I'll bet you're working furiously on them with your Grand-kids!

Hey Susan,, I forget that not everyone knows I am back and with a new name..lol

We are doing great, the gardens are being somewhat neglected as we really need to get the house fixed up. The air has been fixed and we are working on remodeling the bathroom, bedroom and Kitchen in that order!!

The only problems I have had of late are with my silly foot, no idea what is wrong with it and my Doc is next to useless. I am shopping for a new doc.

I got busy on the sewing machine today!! Finished 3.5 blocks.
Tadah, finally working on the first of seven rows, ROFLOL, not too behind, they were due like last November!!!

It was cold day around here, snowed a little bit too...

Awe, Shirley So glad you had a nice visit with your friends... Glad Tubby had some KFC last night, maybe the soup will warm him up a bit.
Very nice to get out and work here and there.

Oh Goodness, Hope Sharon and her Daughter get well soon. Sleep, sleep and more sleep, about the only things to get through that mess...So sorry to hear about mike, keeping him in prayers, Hows Ann doing, she was having the flu too, hope she gets in some rest.
Did you have the day off today?? Kids were off, but they were out running. Jake's always at school so he was in his glory to be off visiting with his buds. Nice he made us breakfast first!

HAHA Judy - So funny when the teens turn those things around on us... Sometimes I tell them as they leave out the door "Make good choices!"....... and it tickles me so much when DH and I are headed out for a night and they tell us the same ! LOL.....

I'm confused about the meaning of Matterhorn because to me that is a ride at Disneyland.... so I will wikipedia the word to see your meaning... but sounds like a book I might have to put on my list... Betty - yes -I've already 'challenged' Hubby to make a float for next year for Belle.... we'd never keep her in it though... and YES Shirley - Belle is a chewer too ! no sooner had we put the bandana on here then she chewed the end of it...but for some reason once we got to the parade she left it on....

Crissy how excited you must be with your new car. Here Betty had us all excited and expecting you to bring home a new kit.Understand completely about your choice of interior colour. Stormy my GS is white and he is not allowed in my Tang as the seats are black. What a mess he leaves behind! You can imagine my house as I have 1 white large dog and 2 white cats - thank goodness for hardwood floors is all I can say.My chocolate Lab Quill rarely sheds.
What/where is Jekyll Island? I could look it up but always like hearing a person's explanation of a place or thing before I do. Nice your whole family will be going. Oh and yes Kris pleased to meet you!
Ya know Betty I think Judy is right - maybe after your last slippy slide act you did hurt yourself - better have the doc check it out. I think you are like me and have arthritis quite bad so these falls at our age tend to hurt us more than we like to let on.Looking forward to trying the bread pudding.
LK how wonderful for you and your dad that you can get out for a drive and see the scenery. My parents and especially my dad after he couldn't drive any more so looked forward to those driveabouts.My DH hates doing that, he thinks you should get in a vehicle and go straight to your destination - no looking around or gawking as he calls it.Hopefully my sight will be back to normal this summer and I can get out in my Tang again and 'see the sights' on the backroads.Only did 2 runs down Thrill Hill last summer in the Tang but will make up for it this year.

Judy nice way to start the day - Jake making breakfast. Was that 1 of his 5 course breakfast meals?My DH wanted waffles and sausages for breakfast this morning so I cheated and opened a box on Compliments Belgium Waffles. (Betty you can get them at Foodland) Wow!!! That's it for me no waffles from scratch anymore even I ate a whole waffle. Yum - used maple syrup that was tapped in a bush just down the road.
OK better stoke the fire, think I will read a bit - dentist early in the morning so I won't get much sleep.
Judy I forgot to mention how great you looked in your dress.Love the colour!

Dianne, when I am in the car with hubby he says the same thing, go potty now, before we hit the road, cause he hates to stop for anything. So when I take Dad for a ride, hubby stays home!

LOL, think they are all made of the same mold, I'd travel with Roger, I'd be looking at
signs and my Travel I75 as to what you can do within 15 miles of each exit, I'd go on and on about what was there, he'd pass right on by, I'd say, omg you passed it and he'd say 'oh did you want to go there' NO, just talked about it for the last hour..lol

LOL y'all are funny! I gawk when I drive but I can drive forever without stopping, Dave has to stop at every rest stop and it drives me nuts but I understand his point, and his need to pee lol

I LOVE my new Toy! Thanks everyone!! It's the best thing that has ever came along, and I'm going to tell Dave whatever pet we get, whenever we get one again, it's got to be black as we both have white vehicles with black interiors.

As to where Jekyll Island is, it is just north of Jacksonville Florida! And it has the most wonderful beach. I am sending a pic or two for you all to see. Some of you may reconize the sweet fairy in the pic!!

Jekyll Island has everything I love for a vacation, lots of beach to walk, pleanty of Fishing for Ralph, cute gift shops, and great rates on thier vacation rentals. We stayed for 10 days last year in a two bedroom duplex with fenced back yard and it only cost us about $500.00!!!! Here is a pic of the place we stayed at. This is the living room.

Hello!

I just got home a little bit ago from work. I will work for a few hrs. tomorrow AM and then come home and take Tubby to dialysis. I decided to run into Omaha quick and get a few things. I'm gonna call the repair shop for my Dyson and see if they will still look at it. I was to take it in October, but could never get away long enough. Hopefully they still have the slip on it.

Elf the little gal is darling and love the jewelry. I have a weakness for jewelry myself so she could have more. I love rings, but I don't wear them around here when I'm working and I prefer to have my nails on.

You guys make me jealous reading about all your trips and vacations coming. Just think of me when you are there for I will be with you all in spirit. We do hope that you all have a wonderful time no matter what it is you are doing.

I'm gonna clean a bit and wash out the refrigerator before the repairman comes and unload all that dog food and cat food I bought yesterday. I will have to pick up corn for the birds Wednesday. I need to go and address my GD's package so I can mail it off. I want to wash my Dyson up also. I never have to look for anything to do.
