The top is finished!!!! Now I need to add borders. I'm not going to get to them today as i had hoped as company is on the way. A friend I haven't seen in quite a while. Sooooo----

Barb, absolutely love the pattern, would you not want to do it again using the material you have set aside for your friends quilt..I'm playing with zigzag'ing the pieces on the Santa piece..takes longer than one might think...might get 2 done today..
Betty, I have been working crazy shifts...not double tho.....2-11 one day, 7am next, a day off two days 2-11, two days 7am again!!! it is crazy!!! and I have been very tired....probably why I lost you??!!!! not getting much sleep :(
Not good Thunder..am sure your system can't get used to such irregular hours! You'll have to nap whenever you have a few minutes..thinking of your gardens, imagining me moving that front bench over to underneath an orange tree, reading a book..forget looking out the window and seeing it snow to beat the dickens..wouldn't it be something to have tomorrow off as well..extended holiday..no chance of that.
Next weekend is our long weekend "Family Day" looking forward to it.

Hi Everyone!!! We got 5 1/2" of snow yesterday and it knocked my internet out right after Dave fixed it. I got 2 snow days, yesterday because it was snowing and today because everything is iced over. The northwest corner of Arkansas got 2 feet of snow!! YIKES!!

Well, we are home and just about ready for bed. Tubby was cold so he's in recliner with heating pad. He was sleeping till a bit ago, I'll get him into bed shortly. I hope by tomorrow we see an improvement in him. My day at work was very busy and hectic. I barely had time to go to the bathroom. There was so much that needed to be done that I didn't have time to do. I hate sloppy work and so it drives me bonkers when I spend half my day trying to straighten things up. Oh well, it was just good to see most of them. HA! HA!
I got somethings made tonight and will finish up the rest tomorrow morning. I made my to do list. I hope I get a good night sleep.
Barb love the quilt and Betty yours is looking great also. Judy hope you get to feeling better. There is nothing worse than feeling like the ----'s. Betty sorry you won't get another day at home tomorrow. What is Family Day? I never heard of it, but than I know you have alot of different holidays then us.

Betty, my day was busy, I came home sat down....and lapsed into a serious nap!
Doctor said the break is healing well, waiting for scar tissue and bone regeneration ....but that will be time. Mostly right now, all the pain issues is soft tissue damage. He said the sprain was worse than the actual break, and that is where the hurting is....not even near the break. BUT, no more crutches and as I feel better ease into a walking shoe. I have an appointment to see him in 3 weeks...BUT if I feel much better...I can cancel it.
Judy....feel better love! Get some sleep and I hope your able to enjoy your Birthday tomorrow!!!
Shirley, glad to hear you are all home safe.....I think Tubby will start to feel better after a good nights rest. He has had a hectic couple days with dialisis and the transfusions....and premeds can wipe you out!
Bev, how are you doing sweet lady?? Give us an update. Sure hope the weather calms down soon....this being stuck in side is NOT fun.

Happy Birthday Judy!! Wanted to get that in while we still have power.
Miss Betty sent us 'her' storm and it is going to be rough sledding for the next 4 days.Lots of blizzard type conditions for those who have to drive - sure keeping those people in my T's and P's.We have everything we need (I tend to stock up!) some new books and 2 news DVDS so do not have to venture out at all.
Being selfish but I am cooking our Valentine's turkey (or if you read the label it is a flamingo.....grin) either Sat or Sun then that way I will be able to enjoy some of the 'leftovers' before I have my dental work done on Wed.

Family Day, think it's 3 or 4 years in existance for Ontario, other Provinces (your states) have had it longer..it's suppose to be a day that 'families get together and celebrate the family unity, now sure how many do..know my kids get together and go skiing, I don't do a meal, it's just a nice day off which breaks out winter.
If weather stays cold like this and no signs of snow (calling for it for all weekend) then I shall meet my sister 1/2 hr. south in Cookstown, cutest little town, antiques, sewing shops and about 30 other various boutiques..we'll go out for supper and then both head back to our respective homes...probably 1 1/2 drive for me, little less for Sharon.
I thought she had already left for NYC for the Warminster Dog show but she leaves Sat.evening or early Sunday..hoping to win best of breed for 3 years running and pray for the big one..that is highly unlikely, think the American Eskimo has only been competing for a short period of time...
Better get my act into gear..sitting in in p.j.'s and wet hair...not even a coffee..

I'm not sure where we are falling in the jet stream lately. It's been south of us - hence all the storms down south. But it's on it's way back up so you should be feeling some warmth soon down there.

Off to cut another border for that quilt. Almost done with it and them I can clean the sewing room and renew the machine. After a big project I try to change the needle, clean out any lint and change the rotarty cutter blade. That way I'm ready for the next project. I need to give some rearrangment thought to my room .. It's really crowded again now.

Fell again this morning on the back deck staircase..now this is the 3rd. time, pure stupidity, had put the melting salt on them and then rushing to get things together, was holding on the the railing but didn't help, so here we go again with the left arm, left hip paining like *&^&....started to cry, not sure if it was because of the pain or because of my being careless...one of these days those bones will break! So straight home it will be for me!

Oh Linda, I have not had much use for chocolate of late...but that sure does look delicious!! I should change that....my daughter gave me a white chocolate covered pretzel the other day, OMG was that good!! And I dont' usually like white chocolate at all.

I'm going to be colorful again this weekend..drats and more drats. Had we not left early Wedn. and then off yesterday I'd certainly would have called in and said 'no work for me today'
Barb, there are 12 strips in total..12 months of Christmas so with doing 3 guess I've got 36 panels to do, some are very easy, just need pattern..she didn't have it Wedn. when I dropped in so cannot move as quickly as I would like to..had bought some specialty thread to do random quilting on them but had difficulties so took out the stitches and now trying to decide what method I can use..most likely the same but perhaps with embroidery thread.. I also clean my machine after day use, amazing at how much lint you find inside, not as much as when doing rag quilts though.
Just talked to Greg, Melanie (DIL) was on a cancellation list for bladder operation, called her Wedn. and she's being operated on this morning in Orillia Hospital. Yesterday, she and Greg got called in to Midland Hospital, Melanie's dad hasn't been the best so they rushed him in, after doing tests they operated immediately, had ganguerine (?) in..drats mind went blank, not kidney's, not bladder ..help tell me another organ in same area...anyway he's in critical condition...not good at al, my problems are zilch, best I thank the Lord for blessing...ahhh just came to me, galbladder..isn't that the strangest thing?

As much as I don't want to say this Betty - maybe the good Lord had you fall to keep you close to home this weekend. Sounds like Greg and Mel may need you. Or maybe the grands.... Take it as easy as you can my friend. TGIF and then two - three days off.

Betty, I don't know if I am going to be able to do any trips at all this summer. As of right now...we may not have a home. Don't know what we are going to do, been calling lawyers and trying for help, and the mortgage company is not nice at all. Not to mention Shane is supposed to graduate come end of June. I am just so tired of living in crisis mode. Things are changing so fast.
Drats and more drats Debbie, knowing you've had a lot on your mind and 3 or 4 days away isn't in your thoughts but we're all praying that things improve for you..was thinking that there were now provisions made for people having difficulties to save their homes...could you not try one of those agencies...not fond of having lawyers help, usually costly and not helpful at own..any private lenders?

Betty, it isn't a "lawyer" for that type...it is one who helps people facing forclosure. Yes, we have been talking to many agencies....everything is waiting now...but very very scary.

Weather Liars were just THAT!!!! It is sunny, about 10*F and not a cloud in the sky! Going to go out and work on my tan (grin) as I walk Stormy.
Barb yes we do have a generator. Actually it is wired into the house and has its own panel right by the elecricial panel for the house. We can have the infloor heat,1 light in every room, the micro, toilet and fridge running. Makes it nice and cosy.

BIL Robert just called my MIL is not feeling well,he's been trying to take her to hospital and she's being stubborn..he's had plans to go away up the islands so cannot change them at this late date, sais 10 kids in the family and where are they all...
Suzanne is in Toronto,she's the one that most dependable so I told Robert as Suzanne won't be around until late tonight I'll go into town after work and will pick up something for her to eat and see if she needs anything picked up that she needs.

Glad the weather is co-operating Dianne..think when you are most prepared the storm veers in a totally different route.
Had a friend who used to spend all her days on the ice - fishing, out in the elements..friends would go to the islands and not come back with a tan as good as hers..
Be careful if you are walking the ice...we had a gentleman from Christian Island, indian gentleman who knows the lake and waters..as they travel in winter by sled/dog team, yes dog team, snowmobile, scoots and vehicles well he came to town by vehicle the other day which normally should be safe but NOT..under he went..
