Glad Twyla made it home safely. I hope she gets the rest she needs......
Barb - wish I could help you with the mystery quilt - then I could see it finished, sooner LOL
Best/Worse/?learn today, chat with friends
Patience dear Susan-patience. I'm dying to get it done too because right now it looks very boring. The pop for this quilt is going to be the borders and I won't show you until it's done!!! But it's getting there....
Hope you feel better soon.
Me too, Barb, me too.
This is day 3 at home, and I know it's best to "kick this" in the beginning, or I get a raging case of bronchitis, but it's difficult to know I've got work to do that I can't do from home!!!
When clients call to cancel it doesn't affect me it affects the assessment officers so still a lot of time on my hands..
From the sounds of it we're all thinking spring and planning gardens..in April/May Dianne was thinking of taking a jaunt your way to meet you but only at a time that's convenient and you are feeling ok..always up for a day outing. Already chomping at the bit to go somewhere, had this weekend planned for a ride but as I said earlier we'll have snow/snow/snow...
Shirley, nothing passes a day inside like looking at old photo's and chuckling..got to tell you I wasn't the prettiest child..lol..improved a bit as I grew older so some of those photo's I keep right in the bottom of the bin..lol
OMG, your BIL actually said that??? give him a swat..I'd be doing the same, sending him a gift card thanking him for all he's done and somehow getting a dig in to let him know I wouldn't be calling again..is this Tubby's brother??? Bernie is much like that BIL, he makes the oddest comments but know it's joking 99% of the time...would think with all you have on your mind right now it's not a time to joke..
Barb, did hear that the east coast will be hit with a storm again in the next few days, let's hope it doesn't pass in your neck of the woods..you are always sooo busy with your sewing Barb, are you much like we are, you set it all aside come spring when you can get outside or do you keep on sewing?
Glad Twyla made it back as well..she doesn't have a very easy life..what a sweetheart she is...praying that she'll get some rest!
LindaKay funny you don't all come down with colds with the temperatures fluctuating as they are...
What's our Laura up to?
Susan, if you get worse though you'll never get to work..maybe a few more days then adding into that the weekend then perhaps by Monday you'll be back to your healthy self...don't go back before you should
I'd better be back by Monday - it's our Social Committee's Valentine's Day celeb, and I'm making 2 Red Velvet cakes..... have all the ingredients, including mascarpone cheese (Italian soft cheese, like cream cheese, but sweeter for baking).
Well, I have the truck runnning so will let it charge up. The wood is cut to put below the recliner. I'll do that when I get back from town. The dough is rising and Tubby just woke up from his nap. I woke the GD up so she can get ready to go to town with us. She wants to go to Walmart.
Betty that BIL is Tubby's sis's husband. He always says smart things, but this time I just got tired of it. His day will come. Oh ya, they always said ugly in cradle pretty at the table or pretty in the cradle ugly at the table, but shot I was pretty no matter what. ROFLOL
I have to get the turkey out of freezer and some other meat yet. I haven't decided just what I am all making. I'll sit down later and make a list.
It's chilly out but the sun is shining so for all of those who's weather is not nice I'm sorry, but I'm not jealous.
Barb, Tubby says hi! back. He has good days for memory and then days that it's interesting and we laugh alot. He does have a hard time with names most of the time. I just chuckle to myself when he goes down the list and then later it dawns on him that he was totally off. He chuckles too.
Okay, will check in later.
Shirley
LOL keep that Tubby of ours chuckling, Shirley - laughter is the best medicine!!
LOL, never heard that saying before Shirley! You have the best sayings!
Got to mark that one down for sure...
have to go in search of my baby photo..still in original cardboard frame.
Susan, you are such a social butterfly!
Barb I can hardly wait to see the quilt also....... I think I told you all that when my MIL was in her late 80's she was teaching quilting at the church. When I asked who was in her class she told me "the elderly". I just about split my sides laughing.
LK I forgot to mention your talk and pic of fishing just had my mouth watering. It has been too cold and blustery for the guys ice fishing on the lake so I have not been able to trade cookies/cake/pie for fish yet.We love fish - well I do and I just make it and then DH will eat it. If you ask him if he wants fish for dinner he will say no so I don't give him the chance.
Mary sure hope things are settling down on the home front for you..... hate that walking on eggshell feeling.
Where is Laura? Hope she is well!Miss her round the coffee taable in the mornings.
Shirley it is funny you mentioned turkey because that is what I am cooking on Sunday for our Valentine's dinner. DH said it was an odd choice but he is all for it. Will also make some of my heart attack shortbreads for a treat.
It is nice to look at old pics. My sister who passed 5 years ago has 2 boys - late 40's early 50's who still lived at home. They are just now going through dozens of boxes of photos that Louise had - if they don't know who is in the photo they scan it and send it on to me to identify the people. Brings back lots of memories - my mam was Welsh and her family (she was 1 of 13 living children) got together for every occasion. Initially these get-togethers started when they emigrated to Canada from Wales. They all spoke Welsh and some did not speak English so they were really isolated in the community. Imagine taking a family that lived in a town, worked in the coal mines and plunking them on a farm saying there make your way now. Hard times for them and they stuck together like glue.
Susan hope there is some relief for you in sight. Best you take caution now though rather than risk getting 'really' sick, right?
Dianne
Dianne, my step-father Jim is from Wales! Funny, my grandmother who was 99 and in a home but very/very active would say when you asked her if she liked the facility would say 'yes, except it's all old people here'..she was always game for everything and anything..
Now you both have me convinced to cook a turkey on the weekend!
I'm feeling ever so much better!! Must be the meds, and the coffee!!
I'm going into the office for the afternoon (once I have my morning shower!).
As it's only 10 min away, and the temp has gotten better, I'm ok with this. If I can't do it, I'm not far from home!!!
Glutten for punishment Susan, lol...you are the only one who knows how you are feeling, let's hope you have a good day.
Blowing like crazy here, not so much snowing..good makings for whiteouts..
I'm so bored, bored enough that I can't seem to getmy mind around a project I brought with me..maybe I'll watch a movie after lunch..
Hello to all.
Busy day.Sometimes I feel like a taxi driver. Kids to school. kid to work .Then took DS to dentist. Who knew such a young person who eats healthy could have so many cavities. No time to sew today falling behind already.
Went to Walmart and bought some flower bulbs. I know can not put out till April. But feels closer to Spring by seeing them sit on the counter waiting to be planted.
Thank you for the coffee Shirley and Tubby.Did I miss the rolls?
Always wanted to do SG. Just never tried.
Barb I cannot wait to see the quilt all together.
We have not gotten any snow. I bought snow pants for DD about 1 month ago and returned them as they will not be used this winter. Not here.
Windy,Windy and maybe rain next week.
Hard to believe the snow is missing you!
I know but we are down in the sothern part of MD and the water around us makes a difference. I wish we had a little of the white stuff so kids could enjoy.
What are you up to LK?
Not much, just getting swaps ready to mail. Cold and windy today!
Paul just called, said there is quite a storm going on in my area so told us all to pack up as soon as Wayne is done his appt. and head home..asked me to transfer calls to my house just incase weather is not the best in the morning...
I'm sneezing like crazy and runny nose..might be a good day for a snowday!
Please drive carefull Betty!
It's sunny here, so unpredictable...to think you can't see closer to home..yikes!
One of us should pass Wayne a message and tell him to stop gabbing to the client..chatty cathy he is..we want to go home..lol..oh well, even an hour earlier than normal is great..easier to drive then the it's light out!
How many swaps are you working on LindaKay??? want to share???
I am in the rock swap, those are on the way, valentine swap is boxed and will go out soon, then I am working on the SPRING swap with Susie. Oh and the potholder swap. I think that is all.
Think I joined the same as you did LindaKay..lol..Valentines and Rock swap are on their way, I've put on my calendar the dates for shipment for next 3 or 4 so will also be busy either making or putting swaps together..almost a full time job isn't it?
Lovely ride home, even stopped at the fabric store and got some material for the 2nd panel
ooops pressed send..
just incase I get to stay home tomorrow, doubtful and hopeful.Just incase telephones are switched to my house.
Blizzard and whiteouts wasn't until I was about 3 miles from home so not bad travelling at all..snow just stopped..
Well,it's been a long day for Tubby. first dialysis then to hospital to get antibiotics and 1 unit of blood. He has to be back tomorrow morning for 2 more units of blood. He will be there for 6hrs tomorrow so I will work while he is there. That will help both of us. I told the Dr. I took the drug away and he said it was okay, that it really wasn't helping anyway. Some days! We didn't get home from hospital till 8:30. He is all tucked in to bed now.
The GD will stay with my Mom tomorrow while we're gone. She will so a list of chores for me. Thank God. I stopped into see the hospital chaplin while I was there. He is such a dear, we had a wonderful visit and a prayer for all of us.
The rolls are done and they are delicious. Next time I make them will divide afterwards and freeze. I put raisins in some. That way I may think I'm eating healthy.LOL
Well off to be for me. Will try to check in before we leave in the morning. God Bless you all and sweet dreams for everyone.
Shirley
Morning all, not snowing/not blowing but just a few miles away from here they say the roads are treacherous..imagine I'm going to work..
Lots of snow to clear before leaving so off I go!
Prayers will be with you today Shirley..must be so tiring for Tubby!
Gab later
Good Morning!
Tubby is sitting at table having a pepsi and me coffee. Come and get the coffee and rolls. I can't offer you any blueberry coffee cake because my DM & GD ate all of it yesterday, they aren't to be trusted. I told them not to eat the whole pan of rolls today while I'm gone.
It's suppose to get up into the 20's today. We should be home from work and getting blood around 3PM. We will start making the food then. Veggies to clean and curtains to hang, and mix up some of the hot dishes so I don't have to be doing it while everyone is here. My DB & wife will just come for a day as he figures there will be enough people here sleeping. That's okay. We'll just have a good time.
I really don't know very much this morning so will just wish everyone a great day and check back later in the day.
God Bless!
Shirley
Good morning everyone...Sounds like the weather is raising a ruckus again to those south of me and those north of me. I think I'm in an oasis in the middle of some nasty stuff. All the snow/rain is staying South, yes south, of me and all the wind is staying north of me. We aren't supposed to get anything more than flurries during the week and weekend. I'm happy about that.
I got the rows for my quilt finished yesterday and today I'll join them together. And hopefully put the border on. It's looking good and now I'm anxious. I need to be careful though as I tend to rush when I get close to the end and then need to rip out and sew over again. Slow and steady for today...I'll post pictures...
Sending prayers for an easy day for you Shirley and Tubby. Hope things go well. And Betty, please drive carefully.
I must admit I'm grateful I don't need to go out in the winter unless I choose to.
Coffee is ready here too and some blueberry muffins.... Enjoy!!

Betty I thought you turned to phones over to your place yesterday so you wouldn't have to drive in? Do please be careful driving and let everyone know when you get there. We care about you dear girl!
Goodmorning to all.
Anyone driving out in the snow please be careful.
Barb thank you for the muffin and coffee. Pictures please when you put on the border.
We got a very small dusting of snow . Who ever is blowing from the north down to me feel free to blow harder. We need more to go out and play.
Laura, bring the truck and you can have all this snow that's laying on the ground. We'll be glad to share.LOL I hope you get some so everyone can play. Ours will melt this weekend if it gets as warm as they say.
Barb the muffins sound great and you are one busy lady with your quilts. I'm gonna show my Mom some of the pictures that have been put on the thread. She loves to look at them. I told her I want her to show me how to do the Cathedral window quilt, that way if she doesn't get it done I will be able to finish it.
Shirley you must go to the sewing forum. There are so many beautiful quilts there. Your Mom would love to see. I'll go find a good thread for you.

This is the sewing forum. If you mark it to WATCH This Forum you can keep up with all of us.

Tubby, you are a man after my own heart....having pepsi for breakfast!! I get in trouble all the time for doing that, but I love it! Shirley, lots of hugs and prayers coming your way for you and the family, safe travels today and I hope Tubby feels so much better after his blood transfusion.
Waving hello....and I am off and running. DH is off today (grrrr) and I have a foot appt. Should get the "all clear", it feels much better.
The cold outside..thats another story.
Waving to everyone.....life will calm down and I will be back and post longer soon....I hope! lol
Debbie
Morning everyone! Shirley, tell Tubby we all say good morning, and for him to be good for the nurses while getting his blood! I know that will make him feel better once he gets more blood in him.
Wow, look at all the goodies for breakfast! Yum!
Barb, glad to hear the storm is missing you! it is 29 here this morning, but it does not feel that cold. No winds, so it is pretty mild now.
Oh Barb, thanks for sharing the link with Shirley. Maybe we can convince her to join one of the swaps? Maybe the potholder one? That would be easy for her to do?
I think it would be a lot of fun for you Shirley. We do have a good time with each other!!! And we would so love to have you.
Well, I'm sitting here with Tubby & Mom reading them what you all wrote. He is getting a good chuckle. I will see about joining one of the swaps. I took my shower and am ready to go. I'll go start the vehicle shortly and then get Tubby ready. I'll get the GD up before we go so she can be up with GMa. I'll chat later. Have a great day and Debbie hope it's all good news at the Dr.s.
Morning again, nope, not driving when I don't know where I am on the road..that's pure stupidity so talking to boss and all the northern staff are home for the day..
Sooo get to sew and play just like some of you are doing..
Lordy with all the sweets you all made for us this morning I'm sure to put on 10 lbs. love blueberry muffins..must go see what I've in the cupboard as well..would be nice on a stormy morning to smell the odor of freshly baked goods..I'm with Debbie and Tubby, nothing like a pepsi ...infact rarely is there a night that an open can isn't sitting next to my bed..my addiction, I'd say not a bad one but from spending months/months in the hospital because of it, it IS!!!
Barb, we're much alike, that's where I go wrong, wanting to see the end of the project and rush and not do the same quality of workmanship as I do when I first start...
Debbie, good luck at the Doctors, let's hope it's good news on your foot!
Shirley hope Laura gets your truck load of snow, her kids would love to make snowmen..
I should really correct that Pepsi comment....it is an RC for me! lol Judy knows. lol
Have you all heard the new reports on diets soda's? Now they are saying that those that drink multiple diet sodas in a day, because of the artificial sweetners, and chemicals, they have 48% chance more of having heart attacks, and health problems!
Lordy LindaKay, you don't know what to believe anymore do you..just started using sweetners in my coffee, maybe I should go back to sugar but just 1/4 teaspoon to get the taste..should drink tea because I don't put sugar or milk in my tea..
Yeah I agree, one time eggs are good for you, now they say they are not that bad! Hard to know what to believe anymore!
