Oooh...that looks good! Patti, so glad you had some of MacNamara's Dairy products....my DH & Bill MacNamara grew up together....Bill was thrown from a horse a few weeks after his marriage....spent the next 9 months in Mary-Hitchcock Hospital.....was told he would never walk again, never have children.....he had 5! His widow still lives in the big farm house, his sons run the dairy.....the 2 youngest grandkids are at Cornell.....one of the girls graduated from Yale....they are all incredibly bright & nice....someone needs to write a book on that family!

Cool story. I always by their dairy in a bottle. Real bottle, real cream, real good. Patti

Today was another "trip day". Got some things for my dad's new room at the assisted living facility we chose and put them in his room. Then we visited dad at the nursing home where he is still. We are trying to move him by the end of this week or beginning of next.

Anyway, breakfast today was Dunkin Donuts, lunch was McDonalld's and dinner was Subway.

Still too sick to eat more that soup or sandwich....

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Robindog, Poor you, too long to be sick.

I was too tired from too much yard work today to do much so I chose to go to bed. However, DH rallied and went and played hockey and then he came home and made me an omelet using bacon and some of our slow roasted garden tomatoes that I had frozen. Delicious. We had some fresh winter carrots from our garden. There are few still left in the ground. Super sweet, but some are a little strange looking. Who cares, yummy. Patti

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Great DH Patti!
- easy does it Robin, - feel better! ☺

Pizza Night! Yippee!!

Now that is service. Wreak it! I like that too. Patti

That sounds sooo good to me, but I don't think the stomach is ready for pizza yet.....I did have a poached egg for breakfast, & I guess I'm feeling strong enough to go to the store, get some chicken thighs & escarole & make soup....so nice that you still have carrots left, Patti......I used up the last garden carrots about a month ago.....I have to dig mine though & keep them in the fridge.....especially this year!

ROBINDOG ----

Hope you're getting better !!!

Little bits of toast, with smidgens of various spreads that your body has always handled well, will help get you to better health.

It could be anything from tuna, to peanut butter, to egg salad or ham salad, to anything...just as long as your body is already familiar with it.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Jello is good too, that's one of the things they give you in the hosp when they start you back on food, I guess it's easy on the stomach.

Thomaston, CT

I did eat half of a bagel & a smoothie for lunch & the chicken escarole soup for dinner......today is the 1st day I ate 3 meals!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Alright!! Good to hear!

East Bridgewater, MA

Spring is just a month away, we should all hang in there for the next garden season !!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Yay for Robin, still can't do 3 meals but I make the one i'm eating healthy.
Yesterday I made a boiled dinner. Put a piece of beef , onions and spices in my crock pot at 8 am and left it on all day. At 4 pm I removed some of the broth from the crock and put it in a reg. pan with turnip, taters, carrots, and cabbage to give it good flavor. I made to much so it wouldn't all fit in the crock-pot. The meat was so tender you could break it apart with a fork!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Celeste, That sounds so good. I wish we still had a crock pot. I think I would really use it up in Vt. I am going to look for one in a yard sale or maybe I should just look in our barn...there could be one in there. Too much old stuff to move along.

DH brined and then marinated a couple of pork loins and tied them together to roast with potatoes Best ever. Of course he never remembers exactly what he put in the marinade. We have plenty to eat for leftovers tonight. Patti

Thomaston, CT

Those dinners sound great......hope I can start eating regular meals soon!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Robindog, Poor you. Feel better soon.

I had to be on a complete liquid diet for about a month in Nov, but really I was on one for most of last year. Good thing I like soup. We made a ton of it from the garden and froze it. I still like soup, but not just pureed or clear ones. I like chunky soups and that is why I now want a crock pot again. Why did I ever get rid of it? Dumb. Patti

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ate at a wonderful Indian restaurant on Saturday before the ballet. Great food and atmosphere and very reasonable for Manhattan. Great location too - 62 and Broadway.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Love Indian and Ballet. Nice choice. Patti

Amherst, NY(Zone 6a)

Robindog, I really hope and pray that you start feeling better soon.

I cooked today after another day of eating out yesterday due to running all around WNY.

Today I made meatballs in sauce over angel hair pasta. I use a jar sauce, but saute onions and sliced garlic, then the purchased meatballs and add the sauce. it was delicioso if I do say so myself. :)

Thomaston, CT

Thanks Patti & Dave....I'm really feeling much better, & will actually cook a meal tomorrow! Or go out for one!

Saturday did not feel well but it went away, good grief.
