I had a steak with red wine sauce & mushrooms.. could cut it with my fork... and the owner makes a limeonchello (yes not lemonchello) boy was it strong but good
Sounds yummy! Happy belated B-Day to Randy for me!!!
Hope Randy enjoyed his day! I tried a recipe from Eating Well magazine....chicken with cinnamon, cumin, tomatoes, an orange, onion, & chick peas....tasted pretty good......
Happy b-day to Randy!
steaks on the grill
steaks, mixed veggies, and rice.
Club steaks & baked potatoes.
Homemade mushroom soup, omelet with cheese and slow roasted tomatoes and garlic and some spicy rice and popovers. The popovers were left over from a great dinner last night. My DH surprised me with an elegant meal when I arrived back late, after 8:00 with our pal from NYC. Our friend took the Bus up to Boston to meet up with me so I could bring him to the Island with me for the week. DH had cooked a leg of lamb, roast potatoes, haricot vert with almonds and perfect popovers. Good guy. I normally throw them out if uneaten, but I wrapped them up in foil and heated them up slowly in the over and they tasted perfect. Patti
Pot luck at church tonight. YIPPEE!!! DH loves them. I made a chciken, pasta broccoli in alfredo sauce. YUM. There were lots of great things to sample. I have been trying to cut down on portion size. This was hard, but did manage to not overfill the plate. :) or go back for seconds. Dessert was after the evening service which was a favorite hymn sing.
Randy said thanks!!!... his birthday weekend was fun!!
Patti, mushroom soup is my fav but I have never made it from scratch! Will certainly try.....your DH is a keeper! Mine never, ever made a meal! But he never complained, either, about what I cooked. Jan, the potluck sounded like fun......our women's fellowship has one every month that we meet, but we don't meet Jan.-March.....many of the members are in warm places!
I'd like to be in a warm place.
Leftovers tonight - spaghetti, pork barbeque, and chicken broccoli alfredo.
Robindog, I love soups and especially mushroom and yes, my DH is a keeper. He went to Vt to ski, so I am doing it this week. Not as good as his. But my helper pal has a big appetite after doing all the yard work for us, so I am trying to feed him well. I grilled him cheese and tomato sandwiches for lunch.
Black Beans and rice with roasted pork, onions, hot peppers, cheese, sour cream and salsa. I made a honey orange mustard dressing for a romaine salad with broc, red onions, orange pieces and cukes.
My DH cooks too. He's a better cook than I am.
ham steak, fries and peas
Sounds delish! Am going to art class today, & won't be home til 5, so it looks like frozen spinach ravioli......
Made a salad my almost non-cooking mom makes out of raw cauliflower, raw red onions, raw broccoli all marinated in a light oil, vinegar with orange juice and a bit of mayo and herbs. It is best the second and third day, but good tonight with pasta made with portobello mushrooms, shallots, sausage with DH homemade red sauce (gravy). I opened up a bottle of red and gave the sauce a good hit of it too. Patti
fried egg sandwich, DH had wings.
Salmon on citrus rice, garden salad, grilled shrimp on cedar planks...we ate at Longhorns :)
lightly coated fried chicken w/ white rice & small red beans in a tomato based sauce.
I love fried chicken....one of my weakness's.
(- with the crispy, fatty, horrible, unhealthy, tasty chicken's skin of course.) lol!!
Unless it is tasty, why eat it? Gotta have the skin. Patti
Hot dogs and burgers on the grill
Who doesn't like fried chicken?!
A chicken.
No cannibal chickens??
Crispy chicken salad with honey mustard dressing courtesy of Friendly's......
I met GreenhouseGal for lunch yesterday and had a chicken salad on a croissant. Yummy. Got some coconut custard pie for dessert. Had a few bites and brought home the rest for Jeff. I've lost 6 pounds this last month since Mom died. I'm not around her stash of chocolates or HUGE bags of lifesavers. I'm also trying not to eat after dinner or inbetween. I guess it's working. Yay!
