Fireplace is on, quilts on the chairs so you can sit a spell without being cold...even the furries are waiting to sit on your laps...come join us...

Best/Worse/What did I learn today-visit with friends chat
Comfy and Warm and I'm here!!!!
Now aren't you quick Crissy!
Did you accomplish all you had on your weekend 'list to do' Crissy..Dave is such a help!
Betty, do a google of the name of the medication you are on.....and check "side effects." It should also have a list of "if this happens, call the doctor" symptoms....and call if any on that list.
After living thru so much with DDs and their health issues, I have learned so much and what medications can do to a body. It can be scary.
I did more than that! Saturday as you know was busy and that was excellent! Sunday I couldn't get Dave to budge off of the couch, so I went to talk to my next door neighbor, the ex-husband. There is a calmness about him now that didn't exist before. He was out burning the leaves that Diana never picked up and he said, "I just can't stand my house to look like this!" His girlfriend showed up and she seemed super nice, making fun of David saying she has known him since kindergarten and there's nothing he can do that she doesn't already know about! LOL!!! Another neighbor up the road got an offer on his house so he pulled in David's driveway to tell us about it, he had his new wife with him and she's a master gardener and wants to get me into the program as well, she said they've just started a new mentoring thing and she wants to be my mentor. I'm kinda leery because this is her 6th or 7th marriage and I only know her name, but she seems super nice and I have talked to her a couple times and this would be a great opportunity for me to learn and keep my mind busy at the same time.
Betty, Valentines is for "love" love of friends, love of family.....not just Lovers..... in my opinion.
here we sometimes buy silly gifts for each other, a few days after the "real" day...when everything is on sale!!!! even the dog gets a valentine stuffed toy, usually some kind of stuffed dog, and his old one gets thrown away.....by the way...those valentines are the ONLY toys my dog does not immediately tear to shreds!!!! last years puppy is still in very good shape..throw it in the wash at least once a month....thinking he does not need a new one this year????
of course Kyle "cheated " this year, and already gave me my present!!!
Mary, did I tell you the book arrived???? I have been so tired the last few days, can't remember if I said I got it??? well.....I got it.
I have a bit left to read on my current book...this will be the next one!! thanks....
who gets it next????
Debbie, it is Meloxicam, actually I have the drugist print out and see what it says, do know he said I can only have one prescription of this because it's too hard on kidney's and with my only having partial kidneys not good so will find something else if this seems to work..I have been sleeping a lot better with this med as my legs aren't paining as much so that's good.
Crissy, looks as though your Sunday enjoyable, nice to meet new people, perhaps your next door neighbor was the way he was because of his wife...go for the mentoring..will it involve many days?
Thunder, it's alright to say you got your present early but WHAT is it? you know me, have to know everything..lol
I know it's for everyone Thunder but when you are alone you don't always take it to be so..sometimes overwhelming all the commercialism..
Suzanne and I already ate our lunch now we'll be going in about 20 minutes to walk in the mall, I for one want to walk right into Quilts etc. - want a new quilt/shams for my bed, cannot get red 'ever' not sure what's up with that so if they have a black/white one I'll get it then add touches of red in the decor..won't need to add much because I've already got a lot of red...don't you find you want to decorate come Feb/Mar. almost like you are trying to make the indoors feel like outdoors?
Thanks Debbie, doesn't seem to be anything that would make me antsy..just that time of year I guess..
Meant to add Thunder, do you think we could talk the young adults/children in the family to wait until Boxing Day to get their Christmas gifts..funny, know some friends who travel and visit Boxing Day rather than Christmas and are at the stores as soon as the open in order to purchase gifts...
Sorry, thought I had told y'all about my gift?? He had a bear made for me...like a teddy bear, but the face is more like a grizzly bear...similar to a bear he had when he was little. (I still have it) His native name translates to white bear...
the bear is dressed in a sailor suit, complete with hat^_^...little tail sticking out of a hole in the "behind" of the pants!!
said he was gonna do a white bear, but then remembered his bear from when little, and it was a dark brown, and he decided dark brown bear would look much better in the sailor suit, than a white one!
anyways he got it so I could have a "bear hug" whenever I need one, when he goes away to the Navy!!!!!
when he was young ...he never wanted to "hug" I can remember my MIL getting very upset, and trying to tell me to "make him hug me" I always said "NO" never forced him.
well as he has grown...he has become a great hugger, and he senses when I am "down" will put his arms out and say "come here"...always can make me feel better!!! as he is my "little white bear" (even though he towers over me) his hugs are always bear hugs!!! so he got the bear...to give me bear hugs!!!! when he is not here to do so.....I am going to miss him tremendously...
LOL Betty I didn't call them at lunch, had a party at Hobby Lobby instead. I will have to do so here in a bit. She said every Thursday night for 2 months or something like that at a fairgrounds that's only 10 minutes from the house!!
Me and mom send each other Valentines Day cards every year! Always have. Me and Dave use it as a fun loving sort of thing and celebrate the day after LOL
Well now Thunder you've done gone and made my cry! Isn't that the sweetest thing for him to have done..I'm sure you'll cherish it for the rest of your days...bet you still can't believe it...nice 'tush' for sure..I've one son who is 'huggy' and the other 'not'..one will give you a kiss and the other turns his cheek for you to kiss him..such different personalities..
Suzanne and I kept to our plan today, no breakfast special for me, didn't even stop at Tim's for coffee, salad for lunch (ate before our lunch) which made time for mall walking..saw one of those stone pizza ovenware with handles and pizza cutter..had an ah ha moment, was 1/2 price so purchased one for Melanie for christmas..
Crissy, Hobby Lobby, ahhh can't wait for my next trip to Buffalo so this time I can go and spend the morning, last time the other 3 girls aren't into crafts so were not interested at all...did you purchase anything... Well I'd be joining if it's only 10 minutes from home, jus think of all you will learn and can pass onto us.
OMG thunder that is entirely too cute!!!
No, I didn't buy anything, afraid to with Dave's unemployment ending in July.
sorry Betty, I cried posting....now it is time to do some sewing on his log cabin quilt...see y'all later,
I just called and got information about the Master Gardening thing, I won't be doing that, they started last Thursday and it's every Thursday from 8am - 4pm. How is anyone supposed to do that when most people nowadays have full time jobs?
Bet those tears though Thunder were tears of proudness, what great sons you have!
Crissy, that's too bad, same with many of the programs in my area, wanted to join a few but a good portion of them are during the day.
I would only have to attend during that time, every Thursday, for 2 months, so I could probably take a vacation day every Thursday for 2 months, but then I wouldn't have any vacation time left to go on vacation with, and I don't want to do that! They have a class every year so I'll try again for 2012.
OMG no you don't want to use up all your vacation, remember, still hoping you will be able to make it to Judy's...
Just spoke with Greg, said he had a lovely trip, quiet! Bet he had a lot of difficulties staying still, he's always on the go, just like his mom, so to come to a complete stop would be hard for him..going to cook supper either Wedn. or Thurs. night and get to see photo's of their trip. Tonight they have to take Noah to Collingwood for a late hockey game, tomorrow night they have tickets for NHL Leaf's game in Toronto...they just never seem to stop..they might if tomorrow night's storm arrives as predicted...how about all of you, has the storm moved into your area yet?
I know, me too! I'll know by June LOL!
No storm here until tomorrow afternoon.
Praying that all goes well for everyone and we can all meet up once again and hoping new friends can join us...
That time of day...gab later
My friend who drives truck said he had a bit of weather starting on way back thru PA....but it wasn't bad. IT is "normal storm" he said. Tomorrow the bad stuff supposed to move in.
Barefoot, I love that bear! Adorable. I have a desire to make a bear out of my Moms shirts I saved. There is a company around here that does it, but not so sure about the money. I think when things calm down, I can sit and cut them out of the pattern and sew and stuff.
Thunder that is so nice of your son. Tears in my eyes also. And knows just when mom needs a hug.
Debbie what a great idea making a teddy bear out of you Moms shirts. And there is a company that will do it??????
Been quilting all day trying to complete a quilt a month. We shall see.....
It is cold and damp here small ice pellets are falling now. Hoping to not get to much ice.
Fresh brownies and icecream if anyone is around. ( I have hot fudge also)
Laura.........
Barb I loved the star pattern on that quilt and the colors are ones I would have never thought of but went so well together. Is the pattern difficult and is it a paper pieced. You know all the ones I like are that kind. LOL
Laura, here is the site....
The Memory bears are the ones made out of the item you desire of loved one....but on the left side are HOME and other links of their items.

There it went!
Hello All !
((HUGS)) Crissy - I agree with Betty...losing a pet is like losing a child. I would think could be worse in some ways. Mom always said pets give unconditional love... don't know many folks I could lose that love me without conditions in some way/shape/form..... so in some ways I think losing a pet may be worse....
Not sure on the fabric but ya'll know I am not one of you crafty ones.... It's cute with the cat theme though.
Debbie - what a Great website and what a great idea ! Is that someone local ? or how did you stumble upon it? Has Michael moved on out yet? Hoping that might alleviate some stress....
Waving Lady Dragon & Laura... Yum... just gained a few pounds .... FUDGE ! HAHA !
Thunder ! That is so special ... the "Navy Bear"... what a sweet sweet guy you have there ! You have totally made my day telling me the book arrived... I sent a hug with it too... so hope you got that! When you get to reading it... you'll see why it meant so much to "Send it on"....
I'm still reading "The Scarlet Letter"... It's laborious reading with all the "wherefors" and "whatthous".... but as soon as I'm done ... I've got 3 by "Whirligig" author lurking for me in amazon.....
Betty....seems as though you had asked me something....I'll check back to the old thread...
LK - once again ... our weather is so similar ! We're supposed to have BAD weather tomorrow then COLD.. right after that. I can't stand much more cold. Again here I am whining when I don't have to deal with the white stuff like ya'll do. 20 lashes with a wet noodle.... as Erma Bombeck used to say.
((HUGS))
Mary
Mary, my daughter Carrie used to work at a Pharmacy/gift shop right here in town. A woman brought in a flyer for the bears, and that is how we found out about it. My "aunt" had a bear made out of my step-grandmothers coat, she just loves it.
My Carrie used to get orders to put gift baskets together, they would tell her what the person liked....and Carrie would put a wonderful basket together...with a different bear usually from Boyds collection, or...from Pea Pods if they requested. They make them for the babies at the hospital and sick kids also.
MIKE finally went home tonight. He was a nervous wreck after moving everything back yesterday....came back with his blanket last night and said...I'll go home tomorrow. I am very concerned about the entire situation.....but we have our hands full.
I am praying we have some type of guidance by the end of the week as to where this is all going....it is a nightmare. BUT everyone is OK and healthy....that is more important than anything.
Hugs to all of you....
Debbie
Thunder - Love, love, love that bear - so sweet!!
Betty - "missing valentines" - never heard of that movie, but I sure like the Hallmark movies.....
Morning all, shortly after I got home last night had company, omg actually dozed off for what I think was a split second, when I realized it I got up and offered a bowl of cherry cheese cake ice cream,..made it through the evening ..by the time they left it was bettybyes for me.
Was just listening to the weather forecast, Debbie looks as though you and Toronto will get the brunt of it, no mention of it reaching my region but most time they focus on what weather will do in the bigger cities vs. little towns..will put the phones over to the house just incase..would LOVE a snow day..
The girls here made teddies out of their or their mother/grandmother's fur coats, about 3 years ago that's what we all were doing, even put the sound cylinder in them to make the growel..have some fur you could incorporate if anyone wants it and not so sure might even have some eyes...but DO have many patterns so hands up if you want to try with clothing/fur from the pass...got to tell you though, have to be very/very careful when cutting the fur, only cut from backside with the smallest scissors possible and ONLY cut through the backing otherwise you'll have fur in your house for centuries to come..I cut mine outside and kept working it with a brush to get rid of most of it..
Crissy, I'm not sure about the material, looked at your design though and love it! maybe we should all go through our boxes of fabric, not sure if it's me or one of you who had kittie material and might have a remnant for you to use..I'll c heck tonight!
Janice, sounds as though you are busy as always, are things finally settling down where you don't have to travel as much..did the house close? Haven't seen Tracey on any of the threads, sure hope she and Jonathan are doing ok.
Debbie, big hugs coming your way..you've been much more of parents to Mike than his for sure, knows he's a worry not knowing what will become of him now staying with mom..he's a smart enough child, he'll certainly be at your door if he feels things are going downhill..
Laura, loved the fudge..here I'm talking about a 12 month project and here you are doing a 'quilt of the month' amazing for sure!
It's time to get myself ready, garbage day and there are a few things I want to include in those garbage bags..purging is so much fun right?
About the material, don't worry about it y'all!! Any type of printed kitty material won't match her personality because she didn't like fish, she didn't like yarn, she didn't like milk, she would chase mice and leave half for me, same thing with birds except she would leap up and catch them in mid air, and she didn't like catnip. I'm just going to paint it and decorate it myself to match her personality.
Mary I don't have kids so I can't relate, but the think with kids is parents love their kids unconditionally but the kids don't always love the parents unconditionally.
Crissy, Tiga was quite the furry..find a few of those priceless gifts at my door as well.. Missy is my hunter, don't like it but it's their nature.
Was snowing earlier this morning but has now stopped..we had a full slot of appt.'s for tomorrow, Paul's had me reschedule or make telephone assessments so that if it's a blizzard out there I can work from home, best I don't forget to change the telephones to the house when I leave tonight.
She was quite the furry! Smart as a whip, she had everything figured out. Oh!
Fuzzy Wuzzy Wuz a Cat! LOL
Betty I saw that movie too. thought it was very good. yes it made me cry.
Crissy, I think young children love their parents unconditionally....then they lose that "innocence" for awhile, then they grow up a bit, and that 'unconditional' comes back . and more so when they have children of their own.
Hope Y'all stay safe and warm with the weather coming at Ya...
time to go eat, shower, and get ready for work...2-11 today and the next two...
Yes Thunder, young children do, high school aged children don't, but high school aged children don't know what's going on and they think they know it all! LOL!
We're facing a blizzard, Thunder, what is your weather like???? know how to find you now, might just head south on Friday..lol
What I am doing is plotting out a 4 day weekend, girls want to go to Nashville and Memphis..what can we do in 4 days so guess who is already making a list and checking it twice, slotting in cost of several things we can do then divide by 4..lol
Crissy, what is the alley that you took us for for ribs..must include it..wasn't too far from Graceland was it??? We are thinking our long weekend in May..probably leave after work on the 19th..who knows maybe Paul will feel badly for us and let us take 2 additional days...then all would work!
