The neighbors plowed the street with their snow thrower because the city hadn't plowed. After they got it clear the fire department came through and then the plow. The snow is almost up to my knees! I kept the snow from sitting on the inlet pipe to my boiler but didn't think about looking inside it - yep, full of snow. I cleaned it out with a chopstick and the furnace is still working but this is not good news - what if it happens when I am at work?
This is a very heartwarming story that has nothing to do with snow. http://www.consumertraveler.com/today/southwest-airlines-pilot-holds-plane-for-murder-victim%E2%80%99s-family/
Today's Weather in your Garden - 85
Slept late. Looks like we got around ten inches to a foot. Been plowed out already.
31 and snowing lightly. Wind picking up a bit. Everyone is home.
Only about 6" here, wind has picked up and clouds are currently back
And while everyone is out shovelling remember NEVER put your tongue on a metal pole

We got about 10'' not as bad as some, but too much for me...cold and very windy. Housebound with 2 preschoolers and 3 dogs, fortunately they are all well behaved today☺
they just called a state of emergency here in MA - predicted total here is 20.4" - can you see my smile!
Still snowing there, Bill?
Someone does that every year, Jen.
Yay for Bill
:( for Ronnie
Bill needs to be white washed!!
We ended up with about 4.5 ". DH did not have school. after all, he wore his snowflake bowtie for two days, so there would be enough accumulation to call off school. LOL
we ended up with 5" Our low pressure crashed into yours. Sorry.
We'll remember that!
Approx. 14-16" and still snowing. :(
There is no doubt that cabin fever makes Mainers nutty.........

We got 16 to 18 here in Vt, but it held off until late last night so we had no trouble getting here. Pretty day. Fluffy stuff in fact It was too fluffy to make into snowballs. We are going out to dinner tonight. The roads are fine. These guys up here know how to do snow. Patti
close to a foot here, school stayed in session
Not surprised. You guys are not wusses up there!!
Plus lots of room with few cars to get into a mess, unlike in an area with the masses of bumper to bumper folks slip sliding away. Patti
True, but we still overreact here. And it was not always so. We had many big storms and blizzards when I was a kid and there was not this ridiculous panic.
My recollection is that the teachers got more excited about a snow day than the kids! When I was teaching in Greensboro, NC, the town had no snow equipment, and if it snowed even an inch, we'd be out of school for days. My house was on a steep street that became the all-night sledding headquarters. Many of my high school English students lived in our neighborhood, so we all had a ball sledding (kids and parents together). Very fun memories!
I ended up with 27".....my neighbor had to snowblow me out, 3 hours after the plow left....the snowbanks are so high in town, you can't see the traffic unless you're in the middle of the intersection. I was surprised....I took the dogs out at 1:30 for a short ride...they were driving me crazy....& our main state roads were just wet....my road was a mess, made more so by the snowmobiles racing up & down!
I think that's about what my son has at his house in Conn. too.
Aren't we lucky????
We only got about 6-8 inches total in our area of WNY and the snow has subsided. The roads are quite slippery, though. I'm sorry to read that some of you got buried again. Cold temperatures-currently 18 degrees and heading down to low teens or even single digits tonight. How many more days until spring?? :)
Wow, Marilyn!
I'll start a new thread.
What not to do!

Sorry I put it on the old thread! Duh.
Much warmer today...sat outside at my Tile Mosaic class. I think the high was 68. Tomorrow should be the same.
Grrrr!
Gggrrr is right!!!!
No sun here......cloudy, 30, & quite miserable.....no walk today, as it's just too slippery!
