Most of you know I have an old oak tree that I love and it is in my view of the sunrises every morning. Well, during the storm I took some pictures of said tree when it was only a few hours into the storm....

Now about 10 hours into it.....

The worst of it.........

Once the storm cleared the birds came out to eat...I have never seen the Cardnial try to bully the woodpecker until now!

That reminds me to put the feeder back up. The chippies are fast asleep so maybe the birds will actually get some.

Birds here aren't eating as much as they did in the summer. Wonder if they like eating different seeds this time of year????

Nice poem and pics. Your tree almost disappears. Glad it is over and the sun is out again today. Started out at 11 degrees here early this morning, but it is warming up a bit to 30 degrees now. Wind is turning to the south and should bring warmer temps the next few days. Maybe even up to 50 on Saturday. Rain on Sunday, but don't need more white stuff so soon that is for sure. Some melting will be a good thing but it will all freeze at night and make traveling about more difficult.

What a difference when there is no wind! Can be very cold but still okay.

At a scout visit to the police one time, the cop asked if anyone knew what reverse 911 was. I yelled out '119'!! Then I said it's when the cops call you for help.

27 here now, says we will hit 42 today and 50 tomorrow! Wow, things are gonna get messy here this weekend!

not happy about it getting warm - will have to get up early to xcountry ski before the melting starts!

We went downhill yesterday, sunny and nice, but our snow has melted so no cross country here.

38° here, mostly sunny.
Remaining partly sunny today, going up to 44°, low at 31° tonight.

52 today and the snow is melting. Woke this am to an oposum in the back yaed eating the seeds dropped by the birds. It ran into the bottom of my old compost bin, it has now left.

Wow - tornadoes all over the south today. A number of fatalities. How tragic.

Yes...sad news....here it was like a little lick of spring.....hope we have a warmer than usual Jan., then Feb. is short, & March is spring....yay!
