So sorry Robin!
Today's Weather in your Garden - 85
Yep......lots of shoveling ahead....the weatherman said it will be "fluffy" snow!
I'm ready to sleep late!
It has been snowing for about an hour now in WNY. This is supposed to continue through late tomorrow afternoon, We'll see how much we get.
Cool!
Starting lightly now here. No school tomorrow.
Just read that FL is the only state without any fresh snow today!
Yes Jen, here in Nov! LOL
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=8231157
Started snowing here about 9pm. ☺!
Pretty heavy now.
24 degrees.
28° here
Celeste, LOL short term memory loss!!!!
No snow as yet listed in predicted 12-18" range.
Snowing like crazy here, school is canceled for tomorrow
It's only 21 degree's here and it hasn't started snowing yet but our schools are already canceled. We haven't been issued any warnings with the "B" word included, thank goodness for small miracles.
The whole mess missed us pretty much.
Light snow and its 19* bitter cold nights ahead.
How on earth did the natives survive this weather hundreds of years ago.
We certainly have evolved into wusses.
27°, wind from the WNW at 17 with a windchill of 6°, Humidity up to 84%, and it snowing heavily.
- Tried to pull out this am, but got stuck the second I hit the un-plowed street, had to push it back up the driveway... about 12"-14" here so far, figure about 3 more inches by the time it settles down. Major streets/ highways clear, but have a shovel ready when you get into the side streets. Visibility about 200'.
Wind picking up as the trailing edge of the storm passes, high temps in the low 30's, but the windchill will be in the low 20's. Clouds breaking up tonight, tonight's low is expected at 19°.
When storms like this hit ,the winter seems to never be ending.
Sorry about your inches and car pushing.
Guess your days work is cut out for you.
We expected at least 12 but didnt get 6.The family is away so no driveway shoveling. I will do a bit but not the whole thing.
I just shoveled out around the boiler inlet and outlet. This is a whole lot more snow than the last storm. Thank goodness I hired the boy next door to shovel my snow for $20! The snow is not letting up and the news said the front was stalled. The big problem is cats here and trying to watch all five of them every moment and reward for using a cat box (there are SEVEN - no waiting) and cleaning up when they don't. Someone please remind me why I can't live without them - cat not cat boxes.
We only got about 4" of snow here in central Pa. and I know what you mean about the cats....we have 2 and when I opened the door this morning they both looked at me like...."Your kidding...right???"
DH is out on the tractor now....I'll got out after he's done and do the shoveling that's left.
Ahh Yank, it's cos you need them, and they need you!
Sorry to hear you guys are getting dumped on so hard!! I feel blessed as it hasn't started yet, but apprehensive now as I hear these reports.
"DH is out on the tractor now...I'll got out after he's done and do the shoveling that's left"
EXACTLY what i'll be saying later!! LOL
Jo DH is always asking what did the Indians do?
we got about a foot.... real fluffy stuff... hope it packs down before the wind kicks up... now that Randy cleaned the driveway.. we have a 2 hour delay at work.. still undecided if I am going at all
Debi I do know they changed their camps for the winter. In this area they went into the low valleys and gorges to keep the winds from depleting their body warmth.
They also nearly starved and froze too.
I read a book about Mary Molly Jamison ,her diaries have sad accounts of the winter life.
None the less I wouldnt last half an hour at a bus stop much less months in a bark longhouse.
Debi they used horses. (better traction, lol!)
- thanks Jo, I'll start digging out later this afternoon, (work up an appetite for dinner! ☺).
No sense in digging out now, winds are stirring everything up again as fast as you can clear it, still coming down at about an inch an hour.
Temp dropped to 26°, wind NW at 22 mph.
about 8" on the ground right now and is it close to white out conditions ------------- this is GREAT!
wc for a second i thought that was one of my japanese lanterns - there is a reason they are also referred to as snow lanterns
(.. must have gotten the idea from a monastery up at the top of Mt Fugi. lol!)
- Enjoy your x-country skiing! ☺
sssh - i am supposed to be working from home
It's 25 now, wind is blowing, it's snowing here but not like some parts of Maine where they are getting up to 2" per hour.
This ceases to be funny.....I know there's over a foot of new snow out there, & it's plastered to everything.....the trees are very weighted down....the plow was here an hour ago, but it's still snowing heavily.....must go out & feed the birds, & shovel a potty path for the dogs....Robs is out on the porch....Suey looked up at me like the cats....no way is she going out until I shovel!
wimping out again... staying home
there is close to a foot out there - just in from snow blowing the driveway - deck and back walkway will wait till this afternoon.
