I just came back from a short walk that included the mailbox.

I flew off Nantucket on a 6:00 AM flight this morning. Clear , calm and cool, but it must be around 32 out now.

I am spending the day at the reception room in the Day surgery unit at the Hyannis Hospital while a friend has surgery. He lives alone, so I will take him back to our house for a few days of care while he recovers. My DH is the best nurse. The dogs will be ecstatics as this friend often dog sits for us when we can't travel with them. So I am person sitting for him today, fair trade. Plus I took my PC Notebook, so I can play on DG today. Patti

Still and cold this morning.....27 right now, but hopefully will get to 35 today. Hope all goes well with your friend, Patti....the dogs should help with recovery. The surgeon who repaired my hip told my DH he could bring our dog to the hospital to visit me......until he heard his biting history!

Currently 30 degrees and cloudy in WNY. Got about an inch of snow overnight and light flurries expected for today. Not too bad for January.

Wind is calm but if it does stir a little it is from the NW. Hoping to miss out on the heavy snow at the end of the week here. Two or three inches only, that would not make me unhappy.

Nice morning but the blue sky is now gone. DH took advantage of the temperature and sprayed Dormant Oil and Lime Sulfur on the peach tree. He also started to trim out some dead branches on an American Holly and a few other shrubs that need work. The winter burn pile is growing. Patti

32 and snowed last night. About a 1/2 inch on the ground.

It was 35° at the beach today with occasional flurries, now down to 32° and dropping.

The surf was very calm today, just a slight breeze..

Wish I was on the beach instead of in the classroom....the temp was about 32 at 3:00 when I left school......sunny, & I did walk the pups......

HMMMMM, we are only supposed to get less than 1". Already past that and it doesn't look like it's going to stop soon.

Snowing here too. The school called last night saying there would be an early dismissal. This was based on the forecast that said the snow would not really start until the afternoon. They still went ahead this morning. Pretty dumb.

Not quite as cold to start today. Mostly cloudy and north wind is calm at the moment with a temp of 20 degrees. Chance of snow showers today but any real accumulation not until this evening. Forecast is for 1-3 inches only. You folks out west of here are likely to get the worst of this storm I'm afraid. Hope it is not too bad and moves away quickly for everyone.
