could not get the wife to watch valkerie
Thats Entertainment Pt. 6
This was not the movie, Bill, but a show on Smithsonian. The real deal.
saw the movie - the smith. show she turned down - she said we saw the movie - Women!! :)
Hee hee!
Gotta bring up the Toudors again. I was amazed at the beautiful Jolie Richardson who played Henries last wife Kathrine Parr, who managed to stay out of his bed. He was a really sick old geezer by then and smelled awfull with gouty ulsered legs and who knows what else was decaying.KP was a good card player and councelor.
Jolie also playde in The Patriot.
Her mother is Vanessa Redgrave.
My wife watched that series and liked it a lot.
Never heard of it.
Cool. My dad was in Labrador in the army.
Great vacation spot, bring plenty of suntan lotion!
On my drive to the doc, I heard Hold the Line, by Toto, on XM. Had not heard that in a long time. One of my favorite songs.
Gladys Horton, one of the singers in the Marvelettes, died at 66.
Never heard of them..
Me neither.
Really?? They were Motown's first big female group. Had a #1 hit with Please Mr. Postman.
I remember the Marvelettes and that song too:)
I was too involved with Bluegrass and Bruce Springsteen ,Eric Clapton, Wylon Jennings,Niel Young etc.
Never liked Springsteen. Love Clapton.
Anyone else like this??
I have always been so into music that I literally have a soundtrack in my mind when remembering things from my past - events, times, etc. And not limited to the time I have been alive. For example, when I think about the 30's or 40's, music from that era automatically plays in my head. When I see or think about European castles, classical music plays.
It's strongest though, with my childhood. It's a major reason I love 70's music so much.
Never saw Magic Town, WC.
Yesterday I saw The Green Hornet and loved it! Would love to see it again.
Jo, I love Steve Buscemi. Great character actor! Loved him in Escape From L.A., Big Fish, The Island, Armageddon, Con Air, to name just a few. He's done so many things. He was great in Monsters, Inc, too, as Randall.
Another character actor I love is Christopher Lloyd. Faves he was in are the Back to the Future movies, as well as The Adams Family, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Angels in the Outfield and Dennis the Menace.
Have not seen The Tudors yet. Sounds interesting.
Currently watching a new series on NBC called The Cape. I like it very much.
Don't know if I'm exactly like that, Victor, but I do know that when I hear certain songs it will make me think of certain times in my life, or certain books I've read, or places I've been.
Karen
Sometimes I'm like that I guess....even when someone says a phrase that is part of a song... the song automatically starts playing in my head.
Nope, never been like that. Music is not allowed to play in my head it unless I hit the play button. (lol!)
- I have heard music that triggers memories though, but they are from outside sources..
Tonight's Movie at WC's!
'Sinbad The Sailor', with Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Maureen O' Hara and Anthony Quinn.
Now that takes me back to my early teens.
Iwas a wanderer and a dreamer. My fantasy life was better than anything.
I just remembered another character actor.
Paul Giamatti ,Sideways, John Adams, many movies I cant remember. He has a film at Sundance so he is producing now too.
