I broke my old Pyrex double boiler, and will have to look for one soon. Tea made in it tasted better. Hopefully there is a thrift store around me that sells one. On eBay, they're selling for $40 minus the shipping!!

Marion, I'm sorry to read that you will have to return to your Mum asap. Thrush is almost impossible to get rid of especially when it attacks people with weakened immune system. Guess for now, that's not the top issue with the doctors. Giving you tight tight hugs Marion.
Know that our thoughts are with you and we will definitely pray for your Mum's comfort. Give Sue and Kim hugs for me please.

Took 2 Lyrica last night, 3 Advil and downed them with 1/2 a glass of Cabernet.... talk about GOOD sleep!!! Lolol.
Sistahs, don't do what I did please. Might affect you a different way.
I have stopped taking the prescribed sleeping pills and last night my feet were screaming from the nerve damage (Lyrica), shoulder muscles were sore from shovelling snow (Advil), plus nagging mental anguish (Cabernet). First time in months that I slept that well!

We are still enjoying some clear days with nice sunshine. Weatherman/woman said a new storm is coming in tomorrow. I hope he/she is wrong. Rain doesn't keep me away from thrift stores. I go in between big downpours. LOL

Sorry you are having such pain from nerve damage, guess I am very lucky I don't have that, at least the burning sensation doesn't keep me awake at night. If I take what the doctor prescribed (not Lyrica) I sleep really well but so tired the next day. My sleep patterns have been so bad lately, wake up about 2 AM and of course can't go back to sleep. I end up on the computer or reading until I'm tired enough to go back to bed. I blame everything on getting older. I'd be in bad shape if I had a job to go to, not enough sleep to concentrate.

Pegi, the burning sensation don't bother me, but what I got are like little knives jabbing in my soles.
Like you, I have imsomnia. But I think it's because of the years of working on a graveyard shift.
But then, the only compensation I get from this is being able to talk to my family online!! Lol!!

Sue, the art is wonderful. Nothing like seeing the world through the eyes of a child. I have a file going of art work my 2 GDs have done for me. Thought it would be a nice thing to save and give to them when they are older--sort of remembering their childhood. My Mom had saved all the letters my 2 children wrote to Santa and then gave them back just a couple of years ago. Imagine their surprise to be able to sit down and reread all the things the wrote....and wanted.

I am do okay today, shock has now giving way to thinking of what is best now for Mom. This is completely out of our hands and I am sure all of this is going according to HIS plans.

Jaye, please take care of yourself and know my backdoor is always open. Front door is for company and that you are not my dear!!!

Searched for Vision Corningware at WM, would you believe they stopped stocking them? WM truly is an evil company. Closed down so many mum and pop stores, made us dependant on them enticing us with savings....than decided to reduce their selection!
Oh well, ended up getting a non stick pot which I would use just for my spiced tea. It doesn't taste good in an aluminum pot. Can't use the coffee maker as I have to boil the chai for at least 1/2 an hour for the spices and ginger.

LK, tabouleh is a middle Eastern dish, made of soaked cracked wheat (bulghur) mixed with olive oil, tomatoes, lemon juice, mint or parsely, and any other seasonings you might fancy. It's normally eaten cold and a perfect dish for vegetarians.

Sue, I just remembered that I have a very good friend back in Louisiana, whose son is very gifted in art. Back in the 90s when GameBoy was the rage, she refused to allow any of her kids to own one. She said that would just make zombies out of them, and do not challenge their creativity. He won a lot of art contests, and in one, he was the youngest to win the top prize.
He's now in his 20's, married and is an illustrator. .

Marion, so sorry to hear of your mom, huggs and prayers for you.
We received a phone call Tuesday, my aunt passed away. She was my dad's oldest sister. she is the one inherited arthritis from,lol. And speaking of that I am going to see an orthopedic surgon to have artificial joints put in my hands. My appt is Jan 7th. Still waiting on the cochlear implants referal.

Today is Doug'd b-day, he is 53. We are going to do some bar hoping today so he can get free drinks, lol. i am beinging my move in here with Doug so that was a good present for him. He received word from his disability lawyer that he has been approved locally, now it is up to the state. I'm thinking it is pretty much a done deal that he will get it.

I got my wedding dress ^_^ it is so pretty. But it is a little tight through the breast area :(. I got me the Zumba dance dvd's so I will be doing that. We will be starting it at Curves next month also. Only 9 weeks until the wedding WOW can't believe how fast the time has gone by.

LK funny that you are having cabbage rolls. I made a big pan of braised cabbage tonight. Just discovered that I really like cooked cabbage again after a lifetime of hating it. :))

Oh Marion, I'm so sorry I haven't been on to hear your news. I'm keeping you all close in my heart and prayers are going out constantly. I hope your mom isn't suffering. I know how you are feeling right now, and if there's anything I can do to help, you know where to reach me.
