Our NY will be a quiet one-Chris has to work for the 5th year in a row, so it will just be Bubbie and I and lets be honest, I will probably be sleeping when the ball drops;)LOL I will give him New Years kisses from everyone for sure!!

Cindy, my sister had been doing the zumba almost daily at a fitness center, until her doctor told her to stop it if she didn't want her back and her ankle to deteriorate any further.

LK, I've never been good at stuffed cabbage. They always break apart. But I love sauteed cabbage with shrimp or cabbage soup with red beans. Oooh... but the payback!!

Poor you, Stacey. Maybe next year Chris will be home to celebrate NY with y'all. Now what better company than Bubbie! I haven't followed the 'ball' dropping for years. Another year, and more anatomical dropping for me!! Lol!!

I've finally decided to do roast pork tomorrow, thanks to a couple of sistahs here.
It will be stuffed with garlic and onions first. Hopping John, triple succotash and garlic stuffed potatoes. Aren't y'all glad you won't be around me for New Year? For dessert, it will be Martha's White instant cheesecake muffin mix.
Probably will be watching a fb game, and a movie. Had such a severe migraine yesterday and couldn't concentrate on any tv shows, so for relaxation I popped in some old dvds and it's like watching them for the first time. 2 tear jerkers and one Bourne movie!

Now sistahs, for a better New Year fare than mine, I suggest we all head towards Alabama. Someone there will be having corned beef.

We got back yesterday from visiting my family. It was an incredible visit. All the little ones are just adorable!
My youngest niece Josephine called me Gamma!! Too cute, We had a tea party! Good heavens she didn't ask me to drink the tea as it was recycled water in the tiny teapots she happily poured into each and every cup...

Visited, my eldest Sister Ginni, Wow she has a real nice apartment. Been there for 5 years and this was the first time we visited! LOL, she had Jake and Steve to work right away! LOL, they changed out light bulbs and reached the contents from high shelves.

grrr, i was madder then heck that my camera went capoot during the visit so i only have a few photo's, which i'll upload later.

So today we are going for lunch with our cousins. Everyone to be home by 10:30 so we can bring in the New Year Together.
This is the first year in about 4 years We are home, so we are kind of excited about that...

Well, i have to go pay my subscription and get ready to go.
OMG, Its' gorgeous out almost 55!!

Cookie, I understand what is going on in your life and words are not necessary. There is this thing that happens between friends that you know they are there with no words being spoken. I feel your presence--all of you.

Long talk with my sister this morning and I must admit, we both are feeling much better now. Hospice has gone twice since Tuesday to visit with Mom. The last was their nurse who gave her a physical and is concerned why she is on the dementia ward. We have asked the same question for the past3 months. Well, seems they are working to get her a better wheelchair so she is more comfortable and moved to another areas!!!! Thank you Lord. The doctor from Hopsice will see her tomorrow and volunteers will start visiting next week. Unfortunately since we can't put her through the testing required to confirm the mass, there is a lot unknowns at this point. Just knowing there are people now who sees her as a person rather than a number has lifted so much pressure from both of our shoulders.

A group of teacher friends of Kim's invited me to go out with them last night. I went not really wanting to but so glad I did. We saw "The King's Speech" with Colin Firth and if you get a chance I recommend it. Well guess I should say I really enjoyed it.

Need to get back to doing somethings I want finished before I return south next week--not to mention I need to be at a point I can watch FSU tonight. GO NOLES!!!!

Happy and Healthy 2011 to everyone. This past year brought many ups and downs for all of us. God willing, we will all have many many more ups.

Went over to the rock swap and although I won't be entering it I'm going to enjoy seeing all the masterpieces. I have a book on painting rocks which I would really want to try. Maybe 2011 will be the year I give it a try. I LOVE nice shaped rocks. We had an awning put over our small patio on the side of the house and I want to create a work area for myself, have a long table that I'm cleaning off for my projects. Of course that is a few months away, but I can dream.

Marion, I could imagine the relief you and your sister felt when your mum will finally be treated accordingly just by moving her to the right ward. If I were to be placed in a dementia ward, and still have my brains intact.. I'd be one unhappy puppy.

Jaye that tornado was way way way northwest of us, it's a 4hr drive over there. The squall line was lit up in red with severe thunderstorm warnings west of us, but by the time it got to us it had fizzled so I went outside and took some neat cloud pictures of it passing over, I'll load them tomorrow at work. We didn't get a single drop of rain, so that was good!

Yea, got about 2 weeks of hectic at work then things will return to normal.

Cindy sorry to hear about your aunt, big big big hugs. I hope those implants work, I'll tell ya, Ms. Cheerful's daughter is almost completely deaf and she just had them put in, I can talk to her in a normal voice, she struggles sometimes and I'm loud, but hey, that's something!

YEA! Betty and her friend Cathy stopped on their return trip to Canada from Florida. It was wonderful to get those awesome hugs...thank you all, and to make a new friend. Cathy's a keeper....(I tried, but Betty wouldn't let me.....)

I hope you all have a wonderful 2011. I'm just praying that God will continue to be compassionate to my Mom and that as she heads toward the end that she won't be in a lot of pain. Right now she's doing great.

Yay Joyce!! Glad you got those hugs! I caught a cold last night so everything I had planned for the day just went out the window, unless I get hungry and take some Dayquil. I woke up at 3am with a massive sore throat, now I'm extremely congested, having chills, body aches, and I don't know what else, I forgot LOL!

I'm going to go watch some TV and maybe I'll get hungry. I'll come back later if I feel better.

Sorry to hear you started out the new year with a bad cold, crissyr. I haven't had a bad cold in years, thank God for that. Skies seem to be clear, but a little chilly out. I don't make new year's resolutions because I never could keep them.

Prayers needed for my Niece please? She told the family two weeks ago she was finally, pregnant and I just found out she lost the baby day after Christmas!

No, my Brother has 3 daughters and this one is the middle daughter sara. She got married almost 2 years ago and they were so excited that she finally was going to have a baby! She is young and her body will heal, but right now she is pretty upset!

You're right, Sara is in fact blessed that she's still young.

In the low 40s but the sun is shining brightly for a change.

I called in sick today, Jaye I have over 90 hours sick leave so it's not a big deal, other than we are busy busy busy busy, but I come first.

My fever broke this morning, so that's good, and I feel a ton better other than my throat feels like it just came out of a meat grinder, it's bleeding a little too I think, yesterday and this morning I woke up with a huge thing in my throat, hacked it up and it was a bunch of hardened congestion with blood in it, probably a 50/50 mix. A couple more days of that and I'll be going to the dr. NASTY!!

LK I'm so sorry for your niece! Seems like there must be something in the genes causing the reproduction problem. Lots of prayers going out to her.

well our health insurance went up again. last year it went up $150 ! and today it went up another 56.00
we are going to look for another provider. this is crazy how much we spend and we are the healthy ones !
why be healthy ? it just doesn't seem to pay ? !

Hasn't been any cost of living increase in Medicare for two years but all our helath ins and copays have gone up 10-15%. Kinda hard to still buy food the prices of which have risen dramatically. Hate to have to make a choice between food or medicine!!!

we have cut back a lot in many areas of our lifestyle to afford medical insurance . Don't know what more i can cut back on . No way am i cutting out my days at the salon ! i won't go grey for anybody . just not ready yet...
