sue
Thank you LK and Sue ^_^
LK, his plants have long been harvested!!! Lol!!!
Sue, I have a passion for art. I think children make the best artists as they project innocence in their drawings. Unlike adults who want to control with contaminated minds what they perceive as art. And that's
why the general public is split when it comes to interpretation :))
For that reason, I am not into the likes of Picasso or Renoir, but more for folk art.
Will be heading for town for some crackers and a store bought Christmas cake. Think I'll open that bottle of 97 Cabernet tonight to go with my foie gras. Don't think I'm being disrespectful, but I have so much to celebrate tonight. Primarily the birth of our Lord so all our sins will be forgiven.
Merry Christmas everyone!
Merry Christmas to you too LK!!
Watching a While You're Sleeping.. another Christmas show.
But still A Christmas Story's my favorite.
It's supposed to snow tomorrow.. good day for me to have warmed cider.
Enjoy your Christmas day everyone!
Oh Tante-squeeze my uncle hard enough to get a toot out of him for me.
Crissy-so glad to see you!! We were all getting worried!!
MERRY XMAS EVERYONE!! May you have a day filled with laughter, joy, family and minimal frustration. Please remember that you are all well loved by those of us that are here as well as others in your life.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!
Stacey he is sooo sweet!
La la la la la laaaaa I don't have to leave the house today and I don't have anyone coming over! I'm just waiting for Dave to get up so he can open his Nice Big Heavy Present! He's gonna be shocked!
OK! I goofed somewhere!! When I send presents to my mom and her husband, and my dad and his girlfriend, I wrap each one then put both of them in a box and ship them, that way they can open the shipping box and have presents under the tree. I don't know what I did but I'll find out hopefully Monday. My dad's girlfriend called yesterday and said that they got the box but my dad's gift was the only present in it. I said WHA????? so I called my mom and asked her if she received her box yet, she hadn't and asked why. LOL I told her that I think I put dad's girlfriend's present in their box. We had a good laugh over that one!
Merry Christmas my dear sistahs! Hope you're enjoying a wonderful Christmas day.
Remember...the reason for the season!!!!
I love you all!
Cookie
I entered Jonathan in a cute baby contest....please vote for our little Bubbie:)
http://gapc-vote.com/?p=2736419
I tried to vote for him....not sure if it went through or not. They kept texting me codes and finally I just quit. It costs me extra to receive texts and didn't think it would ever stop!
Belated Christmas greetings to everyone. Jaye, my heart is heavy reading about the loss of Kel's uncle. Having spent the last few days at the center where Mom is I can only say Uncle Henry is in a much, much better place. So sad and depressing to see how many residents had absolutely no one coming to visit for the Holidays. Sue, Kim and I tried to wish each one a Merry Christmas but so wishing we could have done more.
Tink, he is precious!!!
Will be heading home in the morning and am I ever glad Kim is with me. Had a blood vessel brust in my eye and it does make driving a little scary--not for me but the other drivers!
Cookie, thinking of you especially hard at this time and sending love, prayers and blessed thoughts your way.
Hi there sweet Jonathan, you are so adorable in your little Santa suit. I tried to vote too, wanted my cell phone number but I'm leary about givihg it out. In fact, I said I did't have one and they insisted I put a number down. Well, I don't text and don't think I want to add that to the already big expense of a cell phone.
Well, we had another rainless day, feels good. Maybe our rains are heading south and that will mean more snow for all of you. Sorry about sending it your way.
my server has been kicking me off the Internet the last tree days, maybe they have fixed their problem, always saying my softward has run into trouble.........
Sending my condolences Jaye to you and Kel. I'm so sorry foryour loss....
good day to you all
one holday down and one more to go
whew and i m ready to get it all over with .
i have been feeling very down . I get the SAD this time of year. my eating is poor and am drinking a bit more then usual. So ? i can't complain .... but i will LOLLLL
love the angel story LOL and i love my nice card too. thank you LInda .
next year i will be more prepared for the holdays
not much going on here
Cookie, call your cell phone provider, and have them block all text messages from coming in! That is what I had to do, with my sprint phone!
Hope everyone had a great Christmas! Once New Years is past, we can all start planning our gardens for the Spring!
I know don't fall out of your chairs..it's been awhile but even though I am not in here much I do keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
I hope all are safe and sound.
and had a Merry Christmas
my folks are here for 2 wks came by train this year as dad is not walking good and his driving of course is not good either so much to his dismay we ( basically my youngest niece living with them right now told them after her and I talked) talked them into the train instead of driving...so lucky me gets to drive to Pharr area Tuesday and drive back Thursday with my mom so she can do her shopping she always does down there.
Love to y'all be back again sometime and hopefully sooner.
Cookie-I entered a fake #;) After trying to vote, I think it is a pain with having to skip everything and probably a bunch of hooey. I thought it was legit because it came in an email from one of the baby places I get emails from-teach me to trust anyplace again...
Auntie M-I agree-so sad that families seem to forget their elders at the holidays. We were lucky that Grandpa had Christy (Chris's sister) that lived so close and the family from his 2nd wife. He was never lacking for places to celebrate all the holidays.
Morning everyone!
Phyllis it is so good to hear from you! Enjoy your time with Mom and Dad!
Well Christmas is over for most of us, but I have my DIL and granddaughter coming in the end of this week for a belated Christmas and new years!
Then I can slow down!!!!
Good Morning everyone!
Barb, Marion, thank you for your kindness. Uncle Henry will be cremated and oldest uncle is truly an angel. He will pay for the cremation. Uncle Henry's only 56. Sad thing though, his only child still chose not to pay her final respect.
My favorite flakes had begun yesterday and I hope it ends today soon.
One good thing about snow, it covers all that's ugly in the yard and on the roof :D
But for me to walk in it, it's treachorous and since I lose my balance easily. The cats don't seem to be bothered by it, except for the oldest, Rimau. He'd do his business and then hurried back home to be warm.
I had Christmas day by myself. God is great! Didn't burn the steak au poivre nor did I burn my hair when I splashed the cognac onto the pan :)) Also managed to cook a side dish of tri colored pasta with breakfast sausage. And I lifted my glass to y'all.. a Merry Christmas!
Flipped through the channels and watched Mormon Tabernacle Choir, a couple of preachings and more Christmas music with Trisha Yearwood.
Family from Louisiana called and even ex! Stomach full, head a little light, and had a long long nap.
Went to church yesterday in the snow for the first time, since I've been here. 27 churches were closed in this area, except for ours. Our pastor's from W. Virginia so he's accustomed to the snow. There were a dozen that showed up, so he cancelled the evening service. The roads weren't too bad, just had to drive 15 below limit.
Marion, blessed are the infirmed that have loving family to visit them for b'days and the holidays.
I know that if I were to stay here all my life, I will have no visitors, and I hope by then, I'm still pc savy and can make use of Skype or other web based social platform. Hope they have pcs available for the nursing homes' residents.
I tried too Stacey, but when it asked for my cellphone #, I got out of there in a hurry!!! I've given my phone numnber and that should be enough unless it wanted to spam :(
Cookie, what will you all be doing for New Year? Will it be at your home again?
Pegi, I had pc problems on Christmas eve. A virus tried to entrench itself and thank God I managed to do a system restore.
Seems no matter what BOUGHT viral protection program you have, hackers still find ways to go through that firewall!!
Phyllis, enjoy your time with your parents. You all will be recalling old times!
A good reason for eating more good food, LK! Your Dad will be thrilled seeing your DGD.
Sue, I'm trying my very best to keep myself moving in this house. Somehow my actions this morning have been limited to sorting out DVDs I'd like to watch!! :))
Austin and Savannah.. I'll be watching "Wally-E" and "Up". Wish you are here!!
Going to Mark and Tina's for NY's eve. Nothing big planned for NY day, but I'll probably have pork and kraut and see if the folks want to come and eat with us!
Cookie I'll come eat pork and kraut with you. :0) We always had that New Year's Day. Mashed potatoes on the side. Very yummy.
Neener
well today was a good day except my hormones kicked in ... i hate that.
Jaye savannah says " its a good movie and i like it too. "
savannah got a new drawing set . It comes with stencils of clothes and you trace it over an outline of a girl. then you color it . very neat. we had fun coloring today with it.
austin got a new game but yelled at his sister and is now on the couch .
he is mad .
dinner was pan fried hamberger. i won't be doing that again. i don't fry much or at all really but it sounded good . i learned my lesson. to messy.
i will stick to steaming, baking and broiling.
stay warm and safe everyone
Wait for me Neener!!! I'm coming to!
Thank you so much for your card! It certainly lifted me up from the dregs today!!! In fact, it soothes the 'burn'. LOL.
Besides being the bestest card maker, you certainly have a heart of gold. Love you, sistah!! ((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))
Oh Cookie, roast pork sounds good. Think that's what I'll do. Now it's tradition back in Louisiana to have black eyed peas on NY's day for good luck. Collard greens are the favored good luck veges for some southern states. Wonder what's Ohio?
No sauerkraut tho'. Maybe for some acid, the pickles in the potato salad.
Awww Sue, you're getting a break for the next 4 days, and the kids decide to test your patience!
So, Savannah can make cute paper doll clothes too? Kids are so lucky to be living in this age.... so many toys... but too many of toys do not promote any creativity.
Hope Austin learns to share nice :D
It's Mexican tortilla soup for us tonight. The snow has not ease off.
Stay warm everyone.
Jays I have heard of lucky black eyed peas also.
Sorry to hear that Henry's daughter did not show up for the services.
Sounds like you had a great Christmas day, and the food sounded really good!
LK, have you ever had hoppin' john? It's a rice dish with black eyed peas.
You overstuffed yourself didn't you? I'm sure no leftovers at your home!
I did try to make a snowman when I had to shovel the sidewalk. Too darn cold!! I gave up after packing a bucket! Lolol!!
Never had it Jaye! Sounds good though! Not much leftovers here. We had enough turkey for sandwhich today, and that was it!
Well we have arrived back home to some very cold weather but apparently missed the snow flurries yesterday. Bummer!!
Wait for me also--love 'kraut and pork!!!!!! Won't be on our menu as my family doesn't like saurkraut--black eyed peas and rice at this household.
Stopped by to visit with Mom before starting the drive home and you won't believe how glad I am we did that. This was the first day since we got there last week that she was her "old" self. Laughing, joking and very talkative. She has been down due to a very bad case of Thush that was almost impossible to get cleared.
Jaye, I hope you didn't mean you were all by yourself on Christmas--if I had known that I would have come and gotten you and taken you south with me and Kim, Just can't have my sistah by herself.
Well it is late and I am exhausted from the traffic so will go find a warm cozy bed with a down comforter.
:0))))) Jaye glad you liked that card. It was silly, but I thought you needed it.
Morning everyone!
Glad to hear you back home Marion, how is your eye doing?
good morning everyone
i got the last of my peppermint coffee creamer in my coffee. i guess its back to my old eating habits. :(
jaye i love black eyed peas ! i got a ham bone waiting for stock to make many bean soups yum.
I will teach savannah to make doll clothes soon. She will like that .yes i hope austin starts to share better too. We are so out of wack here when Tim comes home , no routine . So i think it makes him grumpy ? cuz it does me .
Tim will be leaving today for Canada aye. :) until the 1st. so its just me and kids.
Sue, it has to be so hard to have him home for just the short visits! You have the kids and your routins m ost of the year, and when hubby comes home, it is going to be h ard, as he has routine also!
new years we are having
corned beef and cabbage
black eyed peas
cornbread
red velvet cake
Hey Sis! I sent you an email. I have received several emails from you that have virus's attached! Scan your computer, before it freezes up on you please?
Love the New years menus! Sounds really good! What time is dinner???
Morning and I wish I had better news. I will be returning south as soon as I can take care of some things here. Mom has had a cough that Sue (sister) and I were afraid was going into pneumonia. Yesterday we had asked the doctor to check it out, x-ray done late yesterday afternoon and Sue was called this morning. Mom has a 12 cm mass in her lung, fluid is also building in her lung. We could have had her go through a CT scan and lung biopsy but we were told that it would be extremely rough for her as frail as she is now. Both radiologist and doctor feel it is malignant and that doing the test to be positive would only be for us. She would not be able to have surgery nor chemo at this point; so Hospice has now been called. At this point we can only keep her comfortable. So I will be "off the radar" now for a while as I need to be with Mom and definitely my sister. Thank goodness both my children have concurred on the decisions and are such support to us. Please keep us in your prayers.
Twyla, sorry to post such bad news on your birthday BUT, know I am sending you warm happy birthday greetings!! Take care of yourself please.
