Morning, coffee is on, no muffins but did buy Christmas design chocolates , help yourself! Imagine, box was damaged, one santa and one tree didn't make it so got about 20 designs for $1.99 so eat all you want as I'll pick up more..lol
Quite the ride home last night, got to about 3 miles from home and it cleared, was thankful that my plowman did the drive, less work for me so in I came, answered some calls as I had transferred the telephones from the office to here just incase there was a blizzard today then had calls to make sure I had arrived safely and by the time all the todo was done I called it a night.
Susan so glad your first day showed them what you are capable of, am sure they'll know what a gem they've found..laughed at the "Maui" wish, let's hope if it's not there is will be somewhere exotic ..sounds as they they'll spoil you.
Any of you snowed in??? Dianne, a dusting?? have you seen breakfast television and the communities near me with 4 to 6' of snow in a couple of days?
Been sewing, trying to clear the tables for the girls that normally come painting today but they are not sure they will come, all depends on the weather closer to 9...drats, had hoped they'd be here because Sears called to say their time schedule for fixing my washer will be between 10-2, whole lot better than between 8am-8pm..trusty Cathy called and said if they don't come she will come and spend the day..she housecleans for a living, wonder if she'll do some for me..normally on her visits she does the refrigerator as she doesn't like my science projects.
Off I go, breakfast television is calling me, will know then what my drive in will be!
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends..
Good morning, all!! I'm off to another day at work
I hope everyone's day is truly wonderful & blessed!!
Betty - I was obviously kidding about Maui, but I more likely would go on a working trip to Edmonton LOL
Thanks for the chocolate, but I'll pass, and take the stairs at work (1 flight - no elevator LOL)
Betty, please be careful in that nasty weather! 4-6' is a lot of snow! Hope you have good snow tires?
Pass the choccies please?
Snowing like crazy here in Barrie but was clear for 90% of the drive. Guys had 5 appts. today and so far 3 have cancelled due to weather conditions. Record breaking snowfall in many of our towns..know that ski resorts will be open this weekend, odd that Greg hasn't come over to show me his new snowmobile.
Darlene is at the house for SEARS repairman, if it starts snowing she'll call Cathy and she'll come over..
Did I tell you all about the mess I got into re purchase of jewelery kiln???
I was in Barrie Huronia Glass where I took the jewelery course and priced theirs, was $599.99 then tax and about $30 for shelf and about $20 for the firing paper...often go to a small shop about 15 minutes from my home, lovely couple so I called them and it was the same price, Ken, man at the smaller studio said 'I'm going to Toronto tomorrow do you want me to pick one up?' told him no, because at that time Darlene and I were just considering going 1/2's, so the next day Darlene calls and says, 'want to go halves'? yes, will do, means about $350.00. If you remember on Thursday night I was going to pick it up from the Barrie studio but Gord called to say it got sold the day before but he would be going to Toronto distributor today and would get one..well, yesterday afternoon who calls to tell me my kiln is in, Ken..it was $50.00 more than Gord who reduced his because I buy a lot of things there..so Ken says 'I'll match his price' sooo had to call Gord, felt badly to tell him I wouldn't need the kiln he was going to pick up for me today..what a mess..lordy, I just wanted a kiln, should have been simple..lol..
So I'll continue purchasing my glass/jewelery supplies from Barrie so that I support him as well.
If not storming I might take a run up and pick it up tonight if not will do it on my way home tomorrow night..excited, will have Kyle and Noah come over and do jewelery for mom, and both grandma's
Goodness Betty, sounds like you have been going in circles getting that kiln! How big is it? Something that will fit in your car? Not too heavy to lift I hope?
LOL Betty that Kiln ended up being a big deal, everyone wanted to get you one!
YAY Susan, so glad your first day went so well!! That's great!!
Poor Dannie, she's in a mess.
Well busy time of year for me, so I'll catch y'all later!
Not big at all LindaKay, meant basically for small objects, apparently if I want to fire metals can as well (not sure why I'd want to) have to find that out! Am sure it will be fun for a month or so then it can sit as does all my other toys..lol
Crissy, Dannie is going through such difficult times trying to figure out who and what she wants to do with her life..you met her when you were visiting, the girl with the heavy french accent!
I have some news. After carefully reviewing all the information in the packet the oncologist gave my Mom, she has opted out of taking the chemo pill. When she first told me, I said to calm down and let me look up some stuff on the internet....well, I did, and now I wholehearted support her decision. She is 90 and not feeling bad. We misunderstood the oncologist and it is 70% DO have side affects and they are nasty. So she said she'd rather have 6 months of relatively good life as to a year of terrible.
I will try to make this a special Christmas for ALL my family, so that it will be remembered fondly by all.....
Prayers for you Joyce and your family, this will indeed be a special time, a time to bond even closer and remember all the Christmas's gone by. The right decision has been made, Mike, my friend Ann's hubby was doing well, you'd not have known he was ill, had 3 treatments and lordy you'd never know it's the same man..6 months of good vs. 12 months of bad, easy choice. Who knows, they say that as you age cancer is slower in growth, let's hope she has much more time with you. Will Christmas be at your house Joyce??
Yes, Christmas will be here. I'm thinking about inviting all my nieces and nephews to come since this may be DM's last year. The house isn't really big enough to accommodate them all, but we'll just have to hug closer.....
(((Joyce))) I applaud you and your Dm for that approach. I went through this with my DM 3 years ago....and that old hindsight thing. Mom had told me during her last couple weeks, she felt she had made the wrong choice...it was too hard. She would much rather of had a good six months then the last year of horrible times. Yes, make every minute count!
Debbie, hugs to you as well! I watched Roger die from start to finish 3 weeks and was overwhelmed, can't imagine watching someone for year or years on end, what tremendous amount of courage it must take on both sides..
Still snowing Debbie! Sending it to you or Dianne..
Its already here Betty....we have a "travel advisory" going on, and of course "the child" decided now she had to go to the college main campus where it is worse down by the thruway in Batavia. She texted "arrived safe" and is now on way home.
Not a time to be driving Debbie, snowing and blowing here, can't believe how much snow we got inside of 1 hr. Wish the boss would call so we could give a few hints that we should be on the road home and yet just talked to Cathy and it isn't snowing there but for a few flakes..
Drats, spoke to Sears mr. fix-it, said the transmission was fried, said there was all kinds of wool/material under the belt which caused it to break..waiting patiently, not sure he'll give me a bill for entire thing because it is partially my fault..won't do that again...think I said that the last time didn't I?
Blizzard going on here, yikes talk about stormy, glad I'm home, have had my bath, waiting for t.v. bingo to win the big one then off to bed, these early mornings are catching up to me..
For those of you getting this storm, stay warm, stay inside!
Hello Everyone!
I haven't been very good about keeping up to date. We want to everyone our prayers and thoughts and let you know you are all thought of often. I feel guilty about not doing a good job of keeping up with
all the news, but maybe I'll get better at it some day.
I took Tubby to his Drs. appt.'s today. His BP was low and I know that he has lost at least 20 - 30 lbs. The Kidney Dr. wants to do a biopsy of his kidney and for us to see his Oncologist. We do both of
them on the 13th. His kidney function, not so good. They need to know if the myeloma is causing it or
if there is something else, they will know if he will need to go on Dialysis. I prayer not, but will take it one day at time and worry about it then.
I should finish up the island this week. I had to get some new trim, I should have waited till I had it
grouted, oh well, learning in progress. I haven't started to decorate for Christmas. I am at a loss some times. I wish we could spend the holidays with the ones in Wisconsin, it's been years since we were able to spend time together. My twin and his wife may go up for the holidays, that would be great. She and her family are more like a daughter to him than a niece. Oh forgive me I am feeling sorry for myself.
I'm very thankful that I've got Tubby. We'll just have a quiet one together. The weather will decide if my sis from Missouri comes to see us.
I'll get back to trying to clean the house. The dirt is thick. I just have a few more chores outside to take care of that needs done before the white stuff comes. It could wait till March or April of 2011. I won't miss it. I worry about everyone that has to drive in the stuff. For all of you that live way up North, God be with at all times, I know what it's like there.
I really don't have anything to say. I would probably just ramble on more, so will check in with you all later after we know more and please take care everyone. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all no matter what is going on.
Shirley & Tubby
(((Shirley & Tubby)))) Sure have missed you and your posting. I know not hearing from you isn't always good news. Miss Shirley you sure have your hands full. I know Tubby is doing his best to behave himself, I hope he can still get a smile on that beautiful face of his, even though days are hard and feeling poorly.
I will continue keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers as always. I hope they can give you some answers at the doctors on Monday.
Lots of hugs,
Debbie
Nice t hear from you Shirlety, and thanks for the update! Prayers going out for both of you, and please let us know what the test results are please!
Night everyone! Sleep tight!
(((((((((((Shirley & Tubby))))))))))) He's lost 20-30 lbs? you'll have to call him "Slim" soon.
He can have some of mine........ ^_^
Seriously tho, it's good to hear from you - have missed you posting. Know it's because you find it difficult and understand.
Take care, please...... ^_^
Good morning, for those of you getting this blizzard, dress warm and don't go out unless you must!
Not bad in my neighborhood but lordy bad storm in Barrie area where I'm heading, warning on to all about driving, keep delaying getting dressed in hopes boss will call and stay home as the storm will increase/higher winds which will make visability NIL, but no call..usually I leave about 1/2 hr. earlier than normal when there are storms but this morning, think I'll leave at 8:00 just incase he calls at the last minute..if I'm late, oh well I'm late!
Know we have a lot of appt.s today but yesterday we had 5 and only 1 showed up, could be same today, not worth taking the gamble is it but then I'm not the boss!
Shirley, don't you be worrying about not taking time to update us, you've lots on your plate right now, your main concern is Tubby! Not good about not being able to travel this Christmas to be with family, knowing the circumstances, could they not come to spend Christmas with you both??? know we'll be praying for good results..
Sounds as though you are putting a lot of work into the island, excited to see the photo of your work.
Good Morning!
Well, been up for a couple of hrs. Tubby is sleeping, he was awake earlier. It;s dark yet and cold. We aren't having the blizzard you are having Betty and that's okay. I hope you get a call and don't have to go out in it today. It does help if it's daylight. Last I heard there was a chance of snow this coming weekend. Hope they're wrong.
The ones in Wis. are my D and family. She is the one with the brain anerysum. They are going to
do an angio=cath this Thursday to look at it closer. They will talk the following week with the Dr. The GD is having a nerve block done on the 3rd of Jan. She is the one that went to Florida for college, but has many female problems so had to come back home to have it taken care of. If the block works they will go in and severe the nerve to the uterus and hope to control the pain that way. He's doesn't want to do a hyster on her since she's only 19. That is the only way the other problems will stop. God knows best.
So they really aren't in any shape to come this distance. It's my DD that worries me, but I will have to leave that in the Lord's hands. The kids in Omaha we'll see when it's convient for them. They are only 35 miles away, but it might as well be 100's.
Well, I better go and check on Tubby, he's awake. We will talk to you all later, and wish everyone a safe and happy day. Thank you all for being such good friends and putting up with my rambling. It's nice to know you are out there. God sure blessed us when Tubby got the comp. and DG's came up to join and make so many friends.
Smile and have a great day!
Shirley & Tubby
Shirley and Tubby you are both in my thoughts and prayers daily.
And come on in and ramble anytime you would like some of use are here even in the wee hours of the mornings when sleep will not stay with us.
The island sounds like a fun project. Pictures please.
Hugs to you both. Laura
PS no snow here please.
Betty drive carefully. Please let us know you made it in ok.
Arrived to work on time, beautiful, post card perfect in fact I drove in between a rainbow all the way in, actually the blizzard is moving a bit south, they sure did get a lot of snow, infact when I arrived Suzanne was across the street in her car and waved me on to Tim Hortons..office parking lot not cleaned and the municipality had passed, there is about a 3 1/2 ft. bank, a couple of other tenants came in with 4 wheel drive trucks so we managed to get ourselves in, waiting for the plow, guess we'll all have to move our vehicles.
Shirley, that sure is a lot going on for you to deal with, Lord does work in mysterious ways, guess if we depended on telling him our plans he'd just laugh so best we keep praying, your loved ones are in good hands.
You know, it seems the ones who live around the corner are the ones you never see, the others take time out of their schedule to make time to visit and call, God bless them!
Just called my youngest, he's 41 today, his brother will turn 42 New Years Day..he referred to himself as getting old, but not as old as me, brat. When I look back they were 20 and 21 when Roger died that new Years Day, boy time certainly does fly by when you are having fun and NOT having fun...
Oh Gosh Shirley...you certainly have a lot on your plate..I will keep you close in prayers....
I have a bum cell phone. It just made a little chirping sound and turned itself off...now it won't turn on. So I've got my M&D's cell phone but all my numbers are programmed in my phone... :o( Took me a while to remember my daughter's number, cause she's #7. :o)
Had a Garden Club Christmas dinner last night...(Geesh...cost me $30 to eat!) but it was a lot of fun. Got two ornaments (one in a swap and one from the president) and I had a nice box of prime rib bites left over for Cayenne...As I was turning in my driveway at 9:30, I glance over and see that the stuff is NOT with me...sigh...I left it at the restaurant. The pres...emailed me and said she picked it up for me and will hold it until the Jan. meeting...she's even freezing the bites for Cayenne!
How very kind of her Joyce. wow $30. a plate that's quite expensive is it not? Drats, not a good time to be without your telephone, do you have replacement guarantee on it like some providers offer?
We all just had a meeting with the boss. If you had days left over from this year you could use it for the 29th/30 and 31st. if not you could opt to take the time without pay or work it..I had 5 days left, so my last day could be Wedn. before Christmas, as you hear me say often, I'm just waiting for Santa, everything but cooking the turkey is done, other than extra's I might do so it would be ok..
Then Paul asked if I was going somewhere the week before, told him no so we negotiated, my last day will be the 17th at which time I'll transfer calls (will be mighty few) to my house and any of those days should I wish to go shopping or visiting I'll just transfer the calls to him..told him didn't want the calls on 24th and he said that would be fine.
Makes for 2 weeks off!!!! oh happy days!
Anyone want to come visit???
Glad you are safe and hopefully warm at work Betty...Calls on the 24th should just go to answering machine!!!
a rainbow in the snow!!! that must have been a lovely sight ^_^
Shirley, these ladies are the best listeners in the world....good or bad...come and babble and ramble all ya want or need!!!!!!!!!!!! they have been my "saving grace" many a time.
Heres a winter funny for Y'all LOL
Right now Thunder it's a bright sunny day, tree limbs look as though they will break laden with snow..just gorgeous!!!
Thought I'd share:
The Wooden Bowl
I guarantee you will remember the tale of the Wooden Bowl tomorrow, a week from now, a month from now,
a year from now.
A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year-old grandson.
The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered
The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and
failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor.
When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth.
The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess.
'We must do something about father,' said the son.
'I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor.'
So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner.
There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner.
Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl.
When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometimes he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone.
Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food.
The four-year-old watched it all in silence.
One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor.
He asked the child sweetly, 'What are you making?' Just as sweetly, the boy responded,
'Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up.
' The four-year-old smiled and went back to work..
The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done
That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table.
For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason,
neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.
On a positive note, I've learned that, no matter what happens, how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.
I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles four things:
a rainy day, the elderly, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.
I've learned that making a 'living' is not the same thing as making a 'life..'
I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.
I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back sometimes.
I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you
But, if you focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others,
your work and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you
I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision.
I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.
I've learned that every day, you should reach out and touch someone.
People love that human touch -- holding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back.
I've learned that I still have a lot to learn.
Makes you stop and think for sure. With tissue in hand. Thank you Betty.....
Excellent message Betty.... one that is especially revelant to me today....
Funny one Barefoot ! Waving to Shirley.... Thank you for the update !
I took today off to do NOTHING. I usually do laundry but I'm caught up on that...
The house is a mess....but none of the mess is mine... and teens are old enough to clean up after themselves. Right !?!?
I keep telling myself.... "its okay....it's okay....it's okay"...
Joyce - my prayers for you. Mom passed after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer and the whole time I never really faced the fact that I would actually lose her. I guess I was just stubborn or selfish....but now I think of all the questions that I should have asked... stories I should have heard...
I'm proud of you for facing up to this difficult time....
Hugs,
Mary
Okay, I haven't heard that story in a long while Betty. I think I needed to read it again. Thanks. Congrats on getting all those days off. It will be so nice. Enjoy them.
Barefoot -- I love that clip, I'm gonna try to print so I can take to work. I'll make sure that Tubby gets to see it also.
Cayene will love those rib bites no matter when they come. It'll be a New Years treat.
I just got done applying the epoxy to the top of the island. When it dries more I may give it a second coat. I think it needs to level out a bit more so that should help. I have to wipe down the drips yet. It will be complete for Christmas. I want to go to Hobby Lobby and get knobs that have a rooster on them. I haven't made it to Omaha yet and am not sure when I will get there. I need to take my Dyson in to get fixed, I called a month ago and haven't made it yet. I'll have to see if my DM can come a day early and stay with Tubby so I can go and do a few other things while I'm there.
I'm headed in to the Dr.'s office to get some syringes and directions to give Tubby Lovenox before his procedure on Monday. I'll pick up few things while I'm there so I don't have to go back in before Friday.
I wish that Tubby felt like going along. I know it's hard on him to get up/down/in & out. He'll be fine, I just won't be gone very long. It's a beautiful day out. I think I'll take the truck so I can get it filled with gas and drive it once.
Chat with you all later.
Shhirley & Tubby
It's so nice to hear from Shirley isn't it? We all formed such an attachment to Tubby and now to Shirley as well. I hope things ease up some for them and I'm grateful to all who helped get their home ready for winter. Can't beat good friends and family...
Shirley & Tubby - how awfully nice to hear from you, twice!!
Sorry to hear about your DD's troubles....
It's late, so I'm going to head off to bed.... well, maybe to a bit of hot-tubing first LOL
Helps me get to sleep ^_^
Morning, just can't sleep so up and doing odds/ends until it's time for work..
Wow, talk about a blizzard yesterday, Paul called and said to leave at 4:00 instead of usual 4:45 then about 10 minutes later called and said get out of Dodge lol as soon as you can.
I would not be exaggerating if I said you couldn't see a foot in front of you driving, got to about 3 miles from here and not a flake of snow, thanked the Lord for that as I thought I'd surely have to shovel back and front areas, plowman had been so wouldn't have been a whole lot of work but more than I wanted to do.
On my way home I picked up the kiln, got it into the house and then a parade of friends dropped in and called, infact when Darlene called she had tried 2 friends and both hubbies said they were at my house so she called to find out how come she wasn't invited to the party..lol
Ann dropped in to get her cookbooks, Darlene had put the hindges on them, filled them with recipe sheets and plastic protectors, Ann couldn't believe her generosity in doing in and not taking any $$$ for the wood pieces or the supplies. I was also lucky, was missing an 8" flannel block and remembered Ann did a rag quilt and we both shopped for material at same time, didn't she have 1 block left over so I was thrilled with getting it!!! By tonight that 2nd rag quilt will be ready for washing (laundromat for sure) as I did learn a lesson!
Ann said you just couldn't look at her or she'd start crying, that kind of week. Was frustrated that with all going on and Mike being quite difficult of late wouldn't you know he broke a front tooth, I think perhaps due to chemo?? not as strong??
In the meantime Cathy called to see if I made it home and heard that Ann was at the door so she came over but just missed Ann so she came in and had a coffee with Rose and I, then Darlene called to say our friend Aline had her hip replaced Monday and was doing well, imagine, she'll be home for the weekend!
Then June calls, asks if she can drop in, why not, lol, house is full ..all had a nice visit, just got into bed when Sailor was barking, of course it was only 9:30, knock at the door and it was Greg coming to visit, Lordy, will have to call him and apologize, didn't even invite him in, said I was almost sleeping.. maybe I should have stayed up that way I wouldn't be up at 2a.m.
Almost writting a book, can tell I'm trying to fill in my night.
Shirley, is there no close neighbor who could come and sit with Tubby in order that you can have a day to go run errands and maybe just enjoy the outing without having to rush? Maybe local group that have individuals that offer such help? Did your epoxy level out?
Well, think I'll go finish the rag quilt
Betty it sounds like you have a great deal of people that really care about you . Sjjo you have your kiln that is great would like to see a picture of it. And what is this cookbook can we see?
Morning everyone! Betty we could have had tea as I was up too. How about you Laura, up early this morning?
I thought I had my frustration and anger under control but obviously didn't as I stewed about it all night. The 'it' is I had an Endo appointment in Kingston - she sees me every 6 months. After waiting 2 hours I was finally called in only to sit and wait even longer for the specialist to see me.The resident came in first and we discussed some matters and waited again. When the Endo finally got to me she walked in and said you need a MRI and a whole scan of blood tests - not 1 word or question for me nor was I given the chance to ask questions. Well for heaven's sake she could have told me that over the phone and saved both of us time. I'd like to know why I can go to PMH in Toronto where they deal with thousands of patients a day and rarely have to wait - or if you do it is about 5 min. Doesn't make sense to me and unfortunately both of the hospitals here in Kingston are poorly managed. There I will get off my box now!
Betty still only a light dusting of snow here but it is very cold.Living in Verona is like lliving in The Devil's Triangle. We get blasted with snow, sleet or rain when noone else around us is getting anythin. It could be snowing here at home and at the end of the lane not one flake. People still have trouble getting their cells to work here even with new towers.
So Susan this is Day 4 of your new job, how is it going?
Stacey how are you and Jonathan making out?
Ooops dogs are barking need to get them it. BBL.
Dianne
Posted before I left the house, computer seemed to freeze, shut it down but by then it was time to leave. -2F here today, talk about crispy..brr
Dianne, no wonder you were frustrated and angry, Ann said very same thing last night, sat and waiting, they had called to find out about blood tests etc, were told not needed and got there and had 1/2 day tests before they got the chemo..most likely they are all overworked? if not, I'd be filling out an invoice for your waiting time, your time is just as important as theirs. Maybe if more people did that they wouldn't overbook; so how long do you have to wait for the MRI? While starting to type this post mom called, wanted to know if I'd still bring her for her MRI, told her yes but wait until her passport came in..conversation was brief..lol
Laura, did post a photo of the kiln but it's in cyberspace as well, perhaps tonight..
Drats, not sure what could have been the problem, just had it ALL fixed..did download adobe though so I could get instructions for the kiln that was on the cd that came with you, then, trying to be good deleted same program, watch if I didn't delete something along with it..when will I learn..lol
Good Moorning Everyone!
Well, Tubby is taking his nap. I'm having coffee and wish I would go get some rolls out of the freezer. I will later, DM is coming down to stay with him tomorrow while I work for a few hrs. Then will send her home as it may snow Sat. I don't want her driving in it. DM has a big sweet tooth. HA! HA! I must get it from her.
I'm gonna put the second coat of Epoxy on the island. I'm a bit nervous, but will do it and pray for the best. Looks okay so far.
Betty, it would be great to have a kiln. One of my old customers had one in her basement, she did a lot of ceramics. She made me some darling stuff. One of my other ones ran a ceramic shop, she was always making me things for the holidays. Still have them and enjoy them. Glad you made it home okay and just be careful of the other guy.
Dianne, I have learned to put my foot in front of the exam room door til I get my questions answered by the MD. My time is as valuable as theirs and I want to know, they say don't be afraid to say that you want your questions answered, if they get disgusted tough. It's your right and your body. They will remember the next time. I understand if there is an emergency, but other wise I let them know I don't expect to have to wait that long and be treated as if I'm just a number. I know of one guy who sent the Doc a bill for the extra time he had to wait and told him he got paid by the hr. just like them.
Ann, that chemo is wicked. It has damaged all of Tubby's teeth and it didn.t show up till years later. That is what they mean by surprises down the road.
Well, I better get my dishes done and straighten up the place before DM gets here. I need to take some rugs and big comforter in to town and wash. My machine isn't big enough. I'll make sure the next one is big enough for a king size. I have a coat to wash, it's suppose to be DC'd but that gets too expensive, so will do it in cold water, it's polyester & nylon. Wish me luck. Tubby washed a wool sweater once that the DD gave me, it's the cutest doll sweater. I laugh every time I see it. I plan on using it to make a Christmas caroler out of an old post.
Okay, I'll check in on you all later. God Bless and have a great day. Sun is shing here, so that always help.
Shirley & Tubby
Shirley I always find your posts to be so uplifting. It seems like no matter what is going on with you, you always sound like you are smiling!!! I can picture your island in my mind and now I can't wait to see it.
And the caroler made from a post!!!!!
I'm hoping Norm doesn't have problems down the road from his chemo. He seemed to have had bad reactions to the radiation more than the chemo. But he is doing well right now so I'm happy.
Dianne, I'm so sorry about your situation with the hospital. That is so frustrating. I don't understand overbooking at all.
Hope today is much safer driving for you Betty. Just think, only one more week to go!!!!
I'm off to the PO and errands.
Hope your day is wonderful and waving to all~~~~~
waving back to all from my sewing room....
