The price of butter has gone up, $3.99 here for 2 sticks of butter.
... i wonder how much it costs in Zimbabwe. (lol)
Money Matters - Part 4
Ouch, Bill!
How long will that last, Bill?
not sure - we usually keep the house at 60, suggested 58 last night! it is actually a double delivery, we usually only get half that so i should last the rest of the winter - i hope
we go anywhere from $1200 -$1500 a year of oil
Wow, my wife would divorce me if it was below 65!
my wife sets the temp - i do not mind it being colder - of course i think there are 5 layers on the bed right now one being an electric blanket.
71-72 here
- Saw my first $3.49 /gal for gasoline today, 'premium' was $3.79.
Hard to say exactly here because of the pellet stove. Much warmer than before. And cheaper.
Our family room actually gets HOT with the pellet stove on.
I know a few of you fill out entries for the dream house from HGTV, did you see this years??? Wondering how busy that road is the back yard faces...you can see the ski trails from the house so that's kinda cool, but you have no back yard because it's like on the side of the mountain, wonder what the taxes are???
Yes, I've been entering.
Do you like the decor of this years?
I have not looked at the inside yet. But I'll take it!
We got filled up and they fill to 80%, That was in October. Now were at 70%. I am not complaing cuz if we did not have a wood stove we would of been filled back up 2 times now. Our average with the house and 2 garage's is normally 3 grand a year and we go broke. Then I come here and spill my guts...
Disappointing jobs report once again. Expected 150K new jobs but only got 103K.
Filled up today. $53 bucks @ $3.26/gal. Ouch.
Anyone have Roth IRA's??
gas has dropped here to $3.05. We'll see how long that lasts.
Gas went up here again the moment the current snow fell.
I figure ours will go up with the storm coming too.
It was $3.12 on Friday when I filled up.
$3.29 here is normal.
$3.03 to $3.o5 most paced here....
Exxon is way higher--as they are the first gas station off of I-95.
If they only knew that they could drive 5 minutes a different way--they could save 320 cents a gallon.
Either way--we always pay more around the Holidays.......
So true Gita, they know you need to travel so they jack the prices up.....same thing around the 4th of July too.
i have a couple small roth's - why?
Easy? Complicated? Did you roll over a traditional into it or get it from the start?
the first one was years ago and i started fresh with deposits - the second was added as an option to the company 401K plan - i split the contributions 75% normal 401 and 25% after calculating what that would do to the take home pay.
i would have gone all roth if possible.
very easy
Yep, I've been hearing about that. Not a good time to sell your house unless you're willing to take a big loss. -Going to take many years to get the values back up to where they were a couple of years ago..
You actually believe values will again rise? Against what measuring stick?

Of course it will, once the economy bottoms out it has no where to go but up, - especially with industrial, capitalistic economies. The real question is how long will it take, and whether you have enough years left to benefit from it.
Gas prices here today $2.89.
Of course it will rise again at some point. Hopefully, at a reasonable rate, like it did before the mid to late 90's when the bubble started. Great time for first time buyers!
Wow - very low, Jan! Send some here.
Okay, but I'm not allowed to pump it myself. Hee-hee

My electrician BIL, who has had to take so many seven-week furloughs I lost count, is finally getting busy. His shop is behind schedule now and he will get lots of overtime in the coming weeks. Hope that's a good omen!
Yes, lets hope so. Companies and corporations need to give people an opportunity to get back to work again.
Starts with customers and consumers, not companies.
- It would help if companies stop expecting such a high bottom line, there is some greed involved..
