Betty, take the bedspreads to a Animal shelter or a Homeless shelter/YWCA if you have them, they need blankets so badly. The animal shelters use them to make beds for the pets and keep warm. And the homeless, well.
Best/Worse/What did I learn/chat about our day!Just Gab'n
Ahhh didn't think of the animal shelter...only put 1 in the garbage because I was running late..lots to get rid of if I want nice clean shelves so will check tonight and drop them off...
Debbie, can you tell me what kind of electronic stores might have the ipad..if cheaper there than here might take a run on Saturday..guess you are busy this Thanksgiving?? Searching Buffalo for names but not getting anything that has ipad's..
Joyce, good for you, know it's only a few $$$ difference but a few dollars savings makes you feel as though you got a big bargooon..
It's 50 here right now but they are calling for temps to quickly drop..
This morning I cleaned my craft room because the girls come painting, but as soon as I get home sewing machine and flannel comes out so I can get busy..no sense sleeping, such a waste of time..lol
Best Buy
That's where I bought my iMac. They were the most reasonable around here.
Betty, give me a few minutes....will check it out
Betty-sorry-I usually get off as soon as I post since I have about a bizillion things to do while Jonathan is sleeping. His afternoons he is usually awake and we have some tummy time and some look and kicking time;) I only live a few mins from the 75 too-about 10 mins;) I am still working on projects and as far as turkey day goes, we are all going to Mom's and I kinda pushed so that everyone would bring at least 2 dishes to pass. Hopefully that will mean some leftovers and a good variety of things. Mom is making stuffing, mashed pots, and the turkey, SIL is bringing deviled eggs and sweet pots, we are bringing the green bean casserole and a cranberry jello salad with nuts, pineapple and whip cream, and BIL and his family are bringing salad and bread. I am hoping to have enough time tomorrow am to write a blog page:)
Bubbie will be waking any minute gotta run!!
Barb-wanted to tell you how many compliments I get on the diaper bag!! Everyone loves it-complete strangers stop to tell me how cute it is!! I tell them all it is a one of a kind a a good friend made it for me:)

Betty, you're thinking of crossing over THIS weekend? Are you NUTs woman? This is our Black Friday starting very very early....so stores are open at 4:00 a.m. (target) others 5:00 a.m. Traffic crossing the border will be horrendous....there is talk of all the hotels have filled up from people going down to the store areas and shopping....want to be there first thing.
Right now I am only tied up on Thursday for Thanksgiving....
I kept thinking Debby that you might be busy on your side, never thought of all the Canadians going over to take advantage of the sales..hmmmm
Could leave after Darlene's due on Friday night and drive, cross over in middle of the night (I'm good with being up all night) lol pick up all the electronic things I want and head home...
Did go on the Apple store..they ship, so just maybe that's the route to go..
Yes, have been called crazy from time to time
Debbie, how much tax are you charged when purchasing items in N.Y. - that's something I should know after all my cross border shopping, but not...
Betty, Shane wants to go out "black friday" shopping, and I am just not so sure. He went with Mike last year, and they did very good....but there are some crazy people out there. Last year a pregnant woman got run over with a shopping cart because some were running for sales! Its just not right!
Got a text from my carrie....she got her "ipod" phone at the Eastern Hills store. BUT...if they can ship it...you would do better maybe.
I think Erie County is 8.75% in Erie I just read

Been comparing prices, actually it's only about $60 difference and on the other 2 xbox kinect don't think there is $10.00 difference, really not worth going over on such a busy weekend..that takes care of that..lol
Good Morning!
Iv'e been away, trying to finish up some projects...
Yesterday, didn't feel so hot, so worked a little on this and that.
Stacey, nice to see you got a minute to post! Sounds like your getting the hang of sleepy/play time...
Awe, how cool, people stop you about your diaper bag!!
Betty, good luck with finding your ipad thingy! Yikes, hope you won't have to travel on Black Friday...
OH, gosh, I never shop on Black Friday...Well I did one time and that was enough for me!
Well, DH just finished the shopping for Thanksgiving. We are expecting about 15. Everyone will bring a dish, desert or snacking...Oh Debbie, it must be a holiday because an extra treat!! RC Cola, lol told Steve he better hide it or it will be gone before Thursday. He does all the cooking...I make sure the entire kitchen is clean and ready and be available to help...This is so weird to be home. Usually we are up North. And South for Christmas.
LOL, The only reason we are staying home is because part of Julia's gift to us is treating us to the Trans Siberian Orchestra! It's Friday night, so we are looking forward to that. Christmas time, we will be heading North to see my family. It should be really cool...hoping to stay at the Casino. Visit around the Rez and neighboring areas.
Crissy, So did you have to drive Tiga back home? I hope you got her some meds and she will be her self in no time.
Waiving Hello to everyone.
BEV, How are you doing? Haven't seen you post in a while...Sure hope you are taking it easy.
Linda Kay, where are you? Are you doing ok??
I'll be back in a little while, in meantime have a great morning.
OH, lol p.s. yesterday 68 today 35, brrr!!
OHHH Judy, you have the best hubby! Bringing you RC! I haven't had it in about a month now. I am sure it should be up there on the "wine" list or "mama will whine". haha
Betty, the Ipads, are very limited around here. At one time there was a HUGE waiting list. SO, if that is something you really need on a Christmas list...might want to order it online or at least call and see if it is in stock whereever you choose to go. They will fly off the shelves fast.
Unless it's an emergency, I will NEVER step in a store on black Friday! People get hurt every year. Even store employees! Gosh I've had friends talk about it being 'fun' to shop in the madness...CRAZY friends I have! Y'all can find me at HOME this Friday. :)
Betty, I'm a little farther off I75 than Stacey ( about 20 minutes) but close and I have the guest room all whipped into shape. Love to have you stop and spend some time.
Yes, I'm having the whole family for Thanksgiving. My daughter is coming up from st. Louis and will see my place for the first time. I am anxious for her to help me with decorating as she has a knack for placing accessories.
Today I have to get a mammogram and a knee x-ray at the local hospital. It will be the first time I will go there so I am anxious to see what it is like. I did find a doctor but don't know if I will like him or not. He is an older man from India with a slight accent. He was the medical director here at the Center for a while and they recommended him. I hope that he works out for me.
Thanks Debbie, will check into the ipad..Kyle would be disappointed for sure if he couldn't get one!
Wasn't it last year in N.Y. that 3 people were trampled to death, yikes, you've all convinced me to stay home this weekend; if it's absolutely a must I'll go the following weekend.
think for something to do today, I'll print of a map of USA, and pin point where you all are..lol..doesn't mean I'll go anywhere but I'll be ready should I decide to do so.
Janice, thank you sweetie, 20 minutes is not far to travel off the beaten track, usually travel with my "OFF I-75 - things to do and see" book, must go look for it, been awhile since I've gone through it, if I can't find, will go purchase another..
How wonderful for you to have your daughter visit, don't some have talent in knowing just where to put what? So guess you are fussing, getting everything ready..will she arrive tomorrow?
Hard thinking you are all celebrating Thanksgiving and I am set for Christmas..our countries border each other, you'd think we'd have had Thanksgiving about same time..
Sitting here with crochet in hand, tired of doing afghans but nothing else to keep me busy and out of mischief.
Betty, Have you seen...or heard of "prayer shawls"??? often made for woman with Breast cancer...many different shawl patterns used...some rectangle, some triangles.....
the "Idea" of it is prayers are said by the maker, as it is being stitched/sewn/crocheted/knitted....prayers for health and recovery etc..of the recipient....then donated to cancer center/hospital...the centers then give to patients who have cancer treatments/ surgeries..etc.....My Momma knits them..and they go to the oncology center where she had some of her treatments......she was given one, that is how she found out about them...so now she "gives back"
would be something different for you to make!!!??? and another good "cause" to give to..

Alright, I just got to work and now I'm going to leave LOL!! I'm hungry so going to the Mexican restaurant across the street, then I have some work to do.
OK About Tiga! I got the vet I like, Dr. Parker, he grew up in my neighborhood out in the woods and because of that everyone knows him and takes their animals to him. He came in all happy to see me and me him and Dave gossiped for probably 15 - 20 minutes LOL. He looked over Tiga, gave me this 30 minute lecture of how she's old and is going to start showing symptoms of being old, and he said that Dave's right, just giving her a tad bit more steroids would probably help as well as giving her a larger dose of the Glyco-Flex, which is an anti-inflammatory, would have helped. Of course it doesn't help my case that as soon as the cold front showed up and it started dumping rain at 5am she suddenly got a lot better. He did do some blood work, y'all, her numbers are better than a 1 year old kitten's numbers!!! Woo Hoo!!!! He didn't give me anything, just told me to up her doses and babysit her because she IS old.
good to hear that, Crissy!
Will you now babysit "old me" cuz I'm old?? LOL
I slept in until 10:15!! Guess I can't do the 1am thing anymore!!!
I'm going to try the quilt again today, IF I can get myself out of the house to go shopping...
Hmm Thunder, thought I had posted with regards to prayer shawls..I need something small and easy to do here at the office but I've printed off the directions, something I could put on the knitting machines, especially, lol the one that knits on it's own, click/click and more clicks...
I did do the chemo caps that you use eyelash wool and they end up fitting as though they are a wig..lightweight and gave them to the chemo dept. at the hospital, think that was a few years ago..still have one or two dragging, should get them off to Barrie hospital..
Crissy, hard when our furries are getting older, can only do what we can do to keep them comfortable, you'll have to get something supper soft/warm to lay on..sure the vet is right and increase in present meds will work..
Susan, you are too funny, omg I'd think I was 'dead' if I woke that late but then I go to bed very early..lol am sure your body needed it! I so enjoy tying quilts, something soothing to do.
Suzanne went to the Liquidation store at lunch for a kitchen aid mixer and I got her to get me an ott-lite for Melanie seeing as she is now into sewing, better be after all the sewing supplies I got her for Christmas...then I went to Walmart looking for the xbox kinect..said they got 12 in last night and already sold out, so now calling other electronic stores to see if I can find some
It was mid 50's this morning when I came to work, now 40 and dropping quickly, winds are high..can feel the snow coming but lordy such a difference in one day
Eyelash wool? That sounds tinier than baby wool......
yeah, my body needed it. Between stressing over a job, and not having room or the right amount of batting to do my mom's quilt, I'm mentally fatigued........
I wish Someone would call me about a job....... I have so much to offer the working world.... :-(
Oh Betty LOL, she already had 7 blankets, a heating pad that I'm taking back cause she doesn't like it, either couch, either bed, a foot stool, my office chair, and Dave to lay on, which is her preference. LOL OH! I learned today at the vet that Dave doesn't allow her to jump down from anything, he runs over and puts her down. I told him she's a cat for Pete's sake, not a queen!
Dave's in the same boat Susan, along with Joyce and how many million others. It'll come, you just got to give it time. I wish I made the money to keep Dave home and then he wouldn't have to worry about working, unless he wanted to. I'm sure Bob feels the same about you working.
one of my boys has been out of work for three years !!! Had an interview at McDonald's the other day...waiting to hear on that??!!!! he is quite frustrated!!
yeah, Crissy - I was the major wage earner, and poor Bob......
I realize I'm one of many who are looking for work :-(
It's just that we seem to be having "a year" what with the City wanting to move us to "h**l's half acre" and not being able to sell our home because of that, and when I lost my job I can't get the mortgage anyway.
I'm extremely lucky I don't have major medical issues, like some, but this year has been.... yucky........
I know, I know...... I'll count my blessings - I have a roof over our head, I have a partner I love, and even though a cheque "bounced" yesterday, I got an unemployment cheque today so our account's "back up". We had to pay an NSF charge, and will have to pay "HER" another one, so that totals $100 in NSF charges..... BUT we have $$ today anyway.
Oh Susan, so sorry about the bounce...never fun.
Well, I'm not waiting for news about my job any more....she didn't call me, does that tell you anything?
Here is the quote:
"We were impressed with your qualifications; however, we have other candidates whose skills more closely match the requirements of the position. We will keep your resume on file and contact you should another opportunity become available. We look forward to speaking with you again."
Gee....thanks....
Thunder, God bless him, no wonder he's overwhelmed by it all..do you think many of the younger men join army just so they can be employed??often think of that as a form of employment when no other jobs around..
Susan, Dave, Joyce, heart goes out to you all, wanting to work and yet no employment..more than rough!!! Sending hugs (Crissy you can give Dave one for me) and prayers.
Was sitting here wondering why some people have hearts of ice, no care for fellow human beings and yet are so very kind. Darlene just called, I've been pricing having all the staircase and platform coming in from the outside done, it wasn't properly done when I bought it, was make shift, anyway, she called to say her Mike wanted to give me a gift from him to me (why I don't know, they are too kind already) and his gift to me is a staircase..he'll come between Christmas and New Years as he's off work and will do it for me..imagine..I'm just overwhelmed by their friendship and kindness, sure will have to play that one forward!!!
Joyce, did you get that 'quote' or are you thinking that's what has been said..gee whiz, sure kept everything crossed for you to get the job..drats and more drats...sending warm hugs..
I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm shaking right now...... I got an email from them, with a link to my wage, etc, but nothing about when I start. I called Bob and while starting my conver with him, another call came in from the office and she said "Jerri spoke to you about wages, etc... " I said 'no, I haven't talked to anyone since Nov 2". she said "I'll talk to Jerri and call you back".
They've moved to the new location - 5 min away.
It's taking me awhile to type this as I'm making typos..... all over the place......and correcting them LOL
I'm waiting for more info from them, and will give it to you when I get it
Betty,YES.... so many are joining the military because of that .... there is a waiting list to get in!!!! used to be "delayed entry" was not the norm, had to ask for it if you wanted it, and had to have good reason to qualify for it.......now all enlistments are delayed!! My # 2 son joined the Navy...he expected he would be sent off with in a few months....gave him a date a year away!! which was then shortened by three months, as the "position" he really wanted "opened" up....
one of his friends went to speak to the Air Force...they told him they were "full up"!!! and to come back and check in a few months!!!
#3 son has a friend who enlisted in Army just a few weeks ago, and they told him "it will be at least 6 months before we can get you into a basics training unit"!!! if he does not find a job soon...he (#3son) will be joining the Army.
Susan, so happy for you....
Betty...that was "THE" quote.
((((((((((((((((((Joyce)))))))))))))))
now, more than ever, I wish you had good news, too...... :-(
awful time for me to give this news, when yours is...... not good. Bless you - have you applied for others that you're waiting on???
Joyce I'm so sorry you didn't get it!!!! OMG big big big (((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))
Yay Susan!! Congrats!!!!
Wow Thunder, that's crazy! Good the kids are doing something and not just sitting around playing video games though.
Joyce - you definitely don't have the job? They "didn't call me" for 3 weeks, then I suddenly got it...... I was Sure I Didn't Have It. They were just thinking they'd called.....
Whooooooo Hoooooo Susan, I am so excited for you.
Thank you, Dianne!! ^_^
well my son #3 and some of his friends are just sitting around playing video games!!!! but he also does a lot of the house work, he does tons of yard work, and helps with anything he is asked to do!! a very good son... and he has spent lots of time looking for work....just nothing much out there/here....
You've got a good son there, Thunder ^_^
I am very blessed...I have three terrific sons ^_^ and an extremely AWESOME Hubby ^_^
Hello there,
Susan you fibed, you said when you called that luck was going our way and no go, didn't win Bingo..Kyle and Noah were here playing as well, had hoped we'd win just to see their excitement..oh well, perhaps next week..on a sad note, Ann didn't come as usual, they'd been to Toronto to see the specialist and to see how much further the cancer has progressed, know they said both lungs were affected and she did say if it was bad news she'd stay home with Mike tonight..
wanted to call but thought I'd give them tonight before calling..
Great news on the job Susan, I could hear your voice trembling when you called, absolutely great news, next will be Joyce and Thunder's son..
Thanks for the info Thunder, difficult to imagine that Navy/army/air force are full...shaking my head here...
Well just as I was gabbing to Susan, DIL Melanie and the boys arrived with 18 hockey stockings Mel made into hats..Greg was at home making the pom pom's and Mel thought grandma would like to embroider the numbers on all of them, of course I may have said not tonight had she asked (was tired) but she had Noah ask and say they have a tournament this weekend and it would be nice to be wearing them....now I ask you all, could you have said no? lol
Went quicker than I though, Noah keyed in the embroidery info, he was quite proud of that, took the embroidery backing off as each came off the machine and got to take them all home finished..what a grandma ehhhhh?
Yawning here so going to call it a night.
The best for me is hearing Susan tell me she had a job and being told for Christmas I'm getting an entire new staircase and platform for the back entrance from Mike/Darlene
Worse...knowing what news Mike and Ann got today and what it will mean
What did I learn today..asked DIL what she wanted for Christmas in general from Santa, she said 'I sure would like a rag quilt'...I've done all her gifts so it won't come from me..lol best I teach Greg how to sew
night/night
