Too bad there wasn't a 'grandma' on your street that's missing holding a baby and family living far away, what a match that would make!
Best/Worse/What did I learn/chat about our day!Just Gab'n
Good Day!
OMG It's the most Spectacular day! It is Novemeber, right? It's going to be in the hi 60's again. So I will be out side most of the day.
My goodness i hope you are feeling better today...I so do not like the sound of that flu or what ever is going around.
Stacey, Poor lill momma, hang tough...I wish i were closer too. But all i can offer is some listening support...Ithink the first couple months is worst. I feel the agony of going it alone, i was pretty much alone when kids were little, well heck, still have lots of mom only times...
But, once you get his little tummy settled, you just have to work on some sort of routine. Little hint, YOU set the routine. And good heavens, don't wake the sleeping baby, believe me he will let you know when he needs a change or is hungry. My suggestion, Take the time to be you...All the work never goes away, sooo. Another little hint, maybe your trying to be quiet is why your so frazzled. Make noise, he will adapt! I sure hope the new formula will be the right one, that will be major for you.
OMG, Diane...No this mom does not do Wrestling! I do support his needs though. Pick him up from practice, get him to those early morning drop offs. Every time I have gone, Jake has lost, When I don't go he wins!! So funny, I'm a wrestling taboo. Then it's the one thing I make DH do. I have gone to every other thing the kids are involved in, got to draw the line somewhere. Jake has been wrestling since he was 8, gone to state twice!! He loves to wrestle better then playing football...
Joyce, think i was typing when you posted...I am glad you had a bit of sunshine to your day. I hope your interview goes well!
Will continue to keep your mom in my prayers for good news on the scan results.
Bev, so glad you are resting, I know it's hard, when you are used to doing it all...
Thanks for the Lily pic! They are beautiful.
goodness, i have to go back and read again...
Bad case of CRS this morning, good thing as DH finally went to work away from the house, so maybe get back into my routine!
Maybe some more coffee will do the trick!
See you in a bit.
Trust me Judy-I don't try to be quiet unless I have just barely gotten him to sleep. I am quiet for a few mins, then go about things:)
Send me some of your nice weather Judy, it's 41 here..wish I were home cleaning out the gardens, starting to get on my nerves that it's not done..guess if it snowed I'd not see it!
Stacey, did the same with my wee ones, got them used to noise..they'd sleep through anything
69.5 right now here....I'm lovin' it!
Sorry, Betty, no exercise for you! I was already half done when you typed that, and it was all I could do to exercise for ME! ^_^
Thanks for all your good thoughts..
(((Stacey))), hang tough...I was in Germany all alone when my first was born in 1971...ex-hubby was in the service and left the apartment at like 5:30 am and didn't return until about 7:00 pm. I was nursing so all the feedings were my responsibility....you will live through it. I promise!
If you won't exercise for me then won't you please send me your weather, our high of the day is now 45 at least its not snow..what kind of work have you applied for Joyce?
Betty, What you doing?
I was outside, working on sifting...lol can't seem to concentrate on one single thing today!
Came back in fed Skittles, sent off some resumes.
Go back out sift some more, now Decided to come see what everyone is up to.
I wish i could blow over some warm weather...It's suppose to be like this all week, tomorrow 70!!! But then rain on friday and temps t drop down to 40's...yep not looking forward to snow.
Oh Dianne, would love to have ham loaf recipe too, sounds good!
Hey Stacey, Do you have a large straw type basket? I used to keep my babies in one, it was great and easy to tote. Served as a great bassinet...LOL called it my Moses basket.
Well, i am waiting to hear from Lupe today. Was thinking to go visit her at hospital. But I don't want to just barge in, so I'll wait for her to txt and see if she wants some company.
Now, i also put away items from the yard...sigh...need to concentrate on something.
I am here. Been running since 6:00 this morning, left the house at 6:45 for an 8:00 appt. in Rochester. We made it to the appt., the bank, TimHorton for a breakfast sandwich for DS, and back home to school by 9:30. Then...I crashed and burned. Not feeling 100%, and kind of shakey with a headache. I am pretty sure it is stress....imagine that! LOL
Stacy, I am sorry you're dealing with all this alone. I had the same situation, my Ex left when my baby was 2 weeks old. I had a 2 year old and a newborn alone with no family (I lived in CT) for several years. It is not NOT easy. Have you tried a radio in his room....the white noise? I would put my kids in the carrier....and sit them in the kitchen with the dishwasher or washing machine going...and that noise helped them sleep.
My doctor finally told me, if they are clean, and dry and fed, well burped....let them cry it out. They are in a new world and can't run off their energy....so they cry. Do you still swaddle him up with blankets? Some really need that longer than others. Heck I have even plopped newborns in front of the TV with music or movie (bright color disney) on...and it does calm them somehow.
Lots of hugs from all us Moms who have all dealt with the "new alien life forms" for the first six months of their lives....and then the teething starts...and it usually rears its head again. BUT, as hard as it is now...and it is HARD....its amazing how soon you forget all the bad when they start smiling and say mama....or roll over. Hang in there.
Judy, it will make it to 50 degrees on Saturday then below and chances of rain/snow over the weekend! would love to get some more work done outside before then but it's so dark out now by the time I get home..Greg and Kyle brought a spotlight to do the thinks I had on my 'to do' list last night..
Sure am tired, am almost hoping that Ann doesn't come over for t.v. bingo, unless of course someone can guarantee me winning the jackpot..lol
OMG y'all, it's 75 and sunny here today through Thursday, and part Friday!
Stacey hang in there, Dave always wanted a baby, maybe I can send him up there for a week.
Lots of prayers Joyce! Yeah, that would be a tad bit difficult, but you meet people faster if you have kids than if you don't, even babies.
I haven't done diddly squat today and am fixing to get motivated....
Debbie, have you nothing to take for the headaches, and yes, can't imagine it being anything other than stress giving you the headaches..
Don't get motivated now Crissy, enjoy the rest of the day...don't you find some days you have a mental block and just DON'T want to work..lordy, bad enough I have nothing to occupy my time but crochet squares that didn't our company system go down..Toronto doesn't have internet but i do, at least that keeps me out of mischief
Betty LOL that's everyday!
What gets me on edge is the sitting for 8 hrs. doing nothing when I know I could accomplish so much at home, but then, I get more patient when I know I'll get paid for this resting..lol
You just want to get home Betty and try this Ham Loaf recipe, right?
HAM LOAF
1. 11/2 lbs ground, cooked or uncooked ham
2. 3/4 lb ground fresh pork
3. 3 eggs, slightly beaten
4. 1/2c undiluted cream of celery soup (also could use cream of mushroom or broccoli)
5.generous 1/2 tsp curry powder
6. 1/2 tsp dry mustard
7. 1 c of bread crumbs
Mix all the ingredients, in the order given.(NO SALT is needed as the ham and soup are salty enough).Put into a 9x5 loaf pan and bake uncovered in 350*oven for 11/4 hrs.
I add some diced celery and onion to the mixture .
If you want to freeze some of it wrap it with saran and freeze. To reheat thaw completely and heat uncovered in the oven for 30 min.
Thanks to Madame Benoit for this recipe!
Delicious served with Cucumber and Sour Cream salad, rye bread and any type of potato.
Betty once you have cooked the loaf, slice it into pieces the size you want for your frozen dinners. Did you know Mashed potatoes with a bit our cream cheese beaten into it helps the spuds reheat better?Sometimes I use small indivdual sized pans as that was what I needed at the time.Mixed veggies are good with it too. Just don't burn it!!! Sis are you listening too?
Enjoy!
Judy I want to come sift with you - sorta sounds like that song "Come Sail Away" doesn't it? I chuckled to myself when you said you were Jake's jinx. I will not attend the ceremony part of a wedding for the same reason. Gladly go to the reception but not the ceremony. The last 10 weddings that I attended the ceremony part of the wedding the couple split within 2 years. So the morale here is invite me for the party!
Big hugs for you Stacey. Hang in there sweetie - you are doing a great job.
Off to bottle my applesauce. Betty's applesauce cake sure is making he house smell wonderful.

Sounds delicious and not too difficult to make, think I'll wait until the weekend so I can pick up supplies and spend the morning baking..as for the potatoes you say 'our cream cheese' you mean the one in the silver foil wrapper??? Great that I can slice into t.v. dinners..boy, I'm getting to learn to be a cook, now that makes me nervous..lol
Dianne, isn't that the 1st think you think now when attending a wedding, "how long will it last???" pretty said isn't it.
I would have been married 45 years on Nov. 27th..hard to believe Roger died on our 25th.- often wonder would we have made it to the 45th??? we are both stubborn enough to lol
OOOPS almost forgot to wish Gillian a happy birthday..looking forward to hearing how you and your family are doing..is DH still teaching up in the northern country or did you move closer to your family????
Hope your day was filled with sunshine!
They're predicting 70 for the rest of the week through Friday. I'll take it! Indian summer!
The job they've called me for is Administrative Assistant. My last job I was Administrative Coordinator, so it's right up my alley! ^_^
Perfect Joyce! Woo Hoo!!!
Crissy-send him up here so I can have a day off!!LOL
Joyce, I know I will survive, but I can SERIOUSLY not do feedings every hour or 6 hours of constant feedings every day. It wears on my emotional and psychological health wayyyy to much. And I REALLY need Chris to take at LEAST one feeding a day so I can get some sleep w/o having to listen for him to fuss.
It isn't that he isn't comfy while sleeping in his Rock N Play, it is the whole being full thing right now....He used to like being swaddled so much Mom was going to make him some swaddlers. Now he hates it. he likes to kick his feet and move his hands around and HAS to have his hands out of the blanket. Now what we do is put a blanket around him from the waist down and tuck it under him really well. For chillier nights we have the sleep sacks that we use and Mom is going to make us a couple more of those too:)
Now they recommend that you don't let them cry for more than about 5-10 mins and that is only if you have changed them and fed them and they are all good to go. What that teaches them is that when they need you, you aren't there for them. If they cry for longer than that they might have a tummy ache or something might hurt, maybe a leg ache or something.....and sometimes they just get lonely.
I leave the TV on in his room pretty much all the time. I think like me, it makes him feel not so alone as I do that when Chris works late;)
OHH-forgot to tell you-got 2 of Jonathan's stockings, now keeping my eye out for #3 (one for us to fill, one for my mom to fill and one for Santa to fill-I had 2 growing up;)

Took me almost 3 hrs to make that last post-LOL
I know they think of things quite differently now days but as others have said and I have to agree and my kids sure turned out healthy and well adjusted was that if they've been fed, if they are dry then let them cry..sometimes even as young as babies they know you have you around their fingers and know how to get your attention...but, things are different now days and sometimes I don't think for the better...
Joyce how long before finding out about the job..praying for you and Susan to get the call shortly..
I dunno Betty-I don't have anything to compare it to, so I just listen and weed through everything;)
That is hard, perhaps you can talk to others who have been through it, see what they've done and the outcome?
We're always more cautious with our first one, the 2nd and the, and the, well, things get a little more lax but they all survive, some healthier for it..
I've seen kids crawl on floors that I'd think twice about walking on re dirt and yet my kids would have colds etc and her kids would be the healthiest in the neighborhood.
These little tykes look as though they could break easily just with a look and yet they are so strong....maybe you need to relax a bit more as Jonathan can feel the anxiety you are having..
Betty I agree, we think that we're not spoiling the baby because it's a baby and doesn't know any better and you don't want your baby hurting. But the problem is a baby's brain is empty and learns from watching the caregiver every day and picks up on everything they do, and they learn what they can get by doing this or that before they can even talk. The younger we are the easier it is to learn things. That's why a 4 year old can work a computer better than an adult. Plus, once you start that, it's real hard to stop because you still don't want your baby hurting, which is fine, but it becomes easier to just give the kid what he/she wants than to listen to all the crying and whining, and then you end up with a spoiled brat for a 5 year old because years pass so fast and your still thinking they're a baby.
I know, coming from someone who doesn't have kids, but that's how the trouble starts, I know too many moms and I've seen it from the outside looking in, not to mention my grandparents treated me like that by not letting me cry and it created a gimme gimme gimme monster, and I deal with it every day and it is NOT easy.
Hi Everyone:
Just a little note to say we are doing okay. Tubby is laying down, has most of the day and is watching his western shows. That keeps him occupied during the day.
He's old boss Steve came out today and started putting the last of the steps in to the porch
on the south side. What a great guy, he also brought us a beautiful piece of roast. We'll have
that this winter some day. I help as best I can, I need to pick up one more large screw for the post
that he will put on tomorrow. It'll sure look nice when it's done, we moved the other steps over that
has the wheel chair ramp on it. I got that attached and ready for tomorrow as I have to take Tubby
in for some lab work and see if the fluid he got Monday helped his kidney function, the Dr. thought
that he was dehydrated, I know he has lost weight since he hasn't been able to eat anything without
getting that terrible gagging.
I've been busy cutting down weeds that are taller then me, not that, that would take too much. I
hope to get as much done as possible before the snow flies. The wind has been terrible today, it makes
it hard to keep the ones have cut down in the cart to take to the burn hole. I'll be glad when the house wrap is on and the roof fixed. I'll sleep better knowing that it is done. I'll have things to fix up on the
chicken coop yet before the snow flies. I need to figure out something to get rid to the rats that want
to live below, I put out antifreeze, but they don't seem to want to drink it, I'll have to cover the water container for the chickens at night and that may help.
I baked a turkey today and will make Tubby some soup tomorrow from the broth and dark meat. I
will add some noodles but dice it all very small so maybe he can handle some of that.
I better let you all go, I probably have bored you guys, it's time to get Tubby to drink a protein drink
and get him ready for bed. I'll have no problem sleeping tonight. You all take care and our thoughts and
prayers are with all of you. We'll check it later, Tubby hadn't been watching his computer, but he'll make
up for lost time when he gets to feeling better.
Love to you all- Tubby & Shirley
Oh Shirley & Tubby, so great to hear from you!
I am so glad that someone is able to help with the steps and such, that will take a load off your mind.
The soup you're making sounds yummy, and I think Tubby will like that. It is usually good and healthy for anyone not feeling up to par.
Please continue to keep us posted, we all wait to hear from you both. Miss you dearly! AND do not even think of being boring, seriously check in all day to see if there is a note from you!
I hope for sure the snow stays away for awhile, just not up for it this year. Not that we get a choice!
Lots of hugs and prayers coming your way.....
Debbie
Thanks for the update, Shirley...give Tubby a hug from me.
Betty, I'll ask how many they are interviewing for the job and when they think they'll make a decision when I have my interview tomorrow. I haven't been able to get a hold of my friend to see if this is the girl she knows in HR or not. I've called twice. Hopefully, she'll call me back before 2:00 tomorrow!
Evening all,
I'm so glad I came in to say goodnight and see you post Shirley..you are indeed blessed with good friends! It's all overwhelming to see the amount of work needed to winterize a place and find yourself alone, you must not take too much on and injure yourself, we women think we can do everything, have the strength of a horse but we pay for it later..
I do hope Mr. Winter doesn't find your neighborhood for some time, at least until all the winterizing is done!
Cowboys, how my Roger loved his cowboys..great way for Tubby to put in a day. Here's hoping that the doctor's appt. goes well and Tubby's on his way to a full recovery.
Sounds as though you are fattening him up..he hit the jackpot when he found you Shirley...
Joyce, let's hope that it is your friend's girlfriend who is in HR, these days you need all the help you can get..we'll be praying for you tomorrow afternoon and seeing as you've worked in same field that's got to add bonus points as well.
Crissy, you sound as though you'd be level headed with a little one!!!
I had every intention of laying on the chesterfield, watching t.v. and relaxing tonight..no sooner did I have my bath did Greg call, he and Melanie were taking on a project to make touque's for Noah's hockey team..the trial one was being made tonight..they were using team hockey socks to make them...
PomPom's, lol, Greg remembered helping me make them so he called just to confirm how they were done, he and Melanie were having words about the 'how to' so he asked if I'd go over and make sure they were on the right track; I was in my jammies so just put on a jacket and over I went. Melanie has been learning how to sew, nice to see she's putting the sewing machine I bought her to work, lol, and there was Greg making team color pom-poms..got them on the right track and as I was leaving made mention that I had pom-pom makers...got the evil look as I left.
Got comfortable on the couch, must have dozed off because I missed the ending of the show I was watching..woke when the telephone rang.
It was Greg, 'what are you doing?' laying down why??
'wouldn't it be great mom if Noah had #30 on the front of the toque' guess it would I said..
'could you do it now mom? Noah would love to wear his toque tomorrow?' guess I could..lol
So over comes Melanie in her jammies, embroidered #30 and as she's leaving I ask about the team toques, said she and a bunch of girls were going to get together and make them...bit my tongue and didn't offer, nope, much too much to do here...
On the way out she says 'Kids will love Noah's toque with the number on it, guess they can take theirs to the local embroiderer, not sure how much they charge...SOOOO this time I didn't keep my mouth shut, told her to get them together and I'd do the numbers....ahhh it's for the grandchildren we do such things for..lol
Going to try this laying down one more time!!!
Hello To All !
Dianne - do you grind up the Ham yourself? if so... how? Is chopping really fine just the same? I would like to try the recipe as well...I've just never seen ground ham....
Susan & Joyce: Prayers that everything happens quickly so ya'll can get back to work... I know everything will work out Great !
((((HUGS)))) SHIRLEY !!! Please post for us whenever you feel like it... I love hearing how everyone is doing... and we don't hear from you all that much... so Its a blessing when we do.....Yummy - turkey soup !
That's a gorgeous Blanket Betty !
Hugs to my Triplets! Judy & Debbie... Judy ... LOL about the wrestling... I feel that way watching DH's football games... everytime I go in the TV room the other team scores! Thank goodness I was a good girl... in here on the computer during the LSU vs Alabama game... Already have Auburn relatives emailing to Thank Me... LOL
Deb... take care gal... are those headaches something to get looked at ? I know you have some big expenses coming up...but take care of Deb first....
DS has to get wisdom teeth out too... but can't even get him in for a cleaning... he is still sick...but I made him some grits 2 hours ago and so far held them down...
Stacey - I know we all have our story... I was a Single Mom until DS was 10 years old....
The BEST thing I did was to move in next door to a 10 year old girl (lived with her Grandma) when DS was 2 .... "K" thought she was a "Big Girl" babysitter... of course IF I DID pay her... it was minimal... she was just having fun with baby DS......it wasn't work for her...
and I never left them alone... just another "Set of eyes" on DS so I could clean, cook, etc.... and she probably needed my company as well... I helped her Mom transport her to practices, bought her things, she became family and we even went on vacations together... we are still in touch... she has 2 kids of her own now.....
That might be good advice for Joyce's DIL as well.... we women find a way to be resourceful somehow ! Just keep an open mind and look for opportunities... Some places have "Mothers Day Out" Programs and they are free...
I'll check back in a bit... ((HUGS))
Mary
Betty - we crossed posted our "Books" ! Love the "Toque" so glad you posted a pic because I had NO Idea what a Toque was....
Noah will be SO Proud that HIS grandma made them !
I remember making those Pom Poms in girl scouts... You wind the yarn around your hand.... or something .... tie in the middle then cut both edges...... am I right !
Hugs,
Mary
Mary, i think my headache is just stress....and over tired. Took another 4 hour nap today, and am ready for bed again. However, now my stomach is sooo bubbly. I haven't eaten anything I shouldn't have...so I think I just picked up a bug.
DD still has her sore throat/ears bug...so we are sharing I am sure.
I feel like I am on one of those little carosels in the park, marygoround....that just spins...and you can't get off. We went from needing to go to Pennsylvania/Southern NY boarder Thursday/Friday and over to Boston MA for Friday evening/Saturday...to now nothing. Had a run in with DS...and he is just miserable. Everything is everyone elses fault....hormones!!!
Mike leaves in the morning for PA until Saturday....looking forward to that, but DD is all sad and weepy.
Going to finish watching "dancing" and then I think head to bed.
Betty, you're a GREAT mom and Grandma....and even a Great Daughter....regardless what DM says!
Debbie
Mary I grind the ham myself with my Cuisinart (lol at me, I just had to run to the kitchen to see how Cuisinart was spelled). We make ham loaf after we have had a ham or a picnic shoulder roast and are tired of having ham or ham sandwiches. Ihave never seen ground ham at the store either.
Yes Betty the Philly cheese in the silver wrapper - actually you can use a noname brand for this.
Stormy and I have to get our afternoon walk in earlier now because of the time change. For about 3 weeks he and Quill have been going nuts around 3 pm - when we were out today I saw why - about 20 wild turkeys were strutting their stuff in one of the meadows close to the house. My goodness some of them were huge - here you not only have to have your hunting licence but you also need to take a special turkey hunting course before you can get a licence to legally shoot them.
Was Dancing on tonight? Darn, I think DH deliberately told me it was not so he could watch the upstairs TV.
Betty DH said to tell you the cake was fantastic.I put in less sugar as I had already sugared the applesauce but since we love cinnamon and nutmeg I added a bit more than the recipe called for even though I had already spiced the applesauce too. DH had ice cream with his very large piece but is thinking about having whipped cream on it tomorrow. Only my husband would ponder over what type of topping he would have with his dessert.
Shirley and Tubby, I know I am new here but sure missed hearing from you both. So glad you are getting your outside work done and having someone help with the stairs. You take as good a care of yourself Shirley as you do of Tubby!
Completely bottled up for winter now - finally. The last 2 years I had let things slide as I was ill so there seemed to be alot to take cae of this year. Now the plow can come in and not knock over all my pails and such. Plow driver will be happy about that. It would be fine by me if we didn't need a plow at all.
Dianne
Good Morning to all. Coffee is on.
Shirely and Tubby really good to hear from you and take care.
Well I am having car issues and will be without for a couple of days so need to get shopping done and figure what will be needed over next couple of days. Thank goodness DH is able to do the work and we ordered the parts so we can keep the cost down.
Oh I tried to get on DG this am and kept getting errors in website I could go to anything but here and I almost panicked thinking what will I do if I cannot keep in touch with my new friends.
Have a great day to all. I think the sun is going to shine it is 61 now so will warm up more when the sun comes up.
Had the same thing happen to me Housse. I have been sitting here thinking where is everybody - knew this message had to be from either you or Betty. Have lots of the Applesauce Cake for everyone to try - Betty's recipe was easy to follow.
Time for coffee. BBL
Dianne
Morning you two,
Been busy this morning, decided that since my machine is sitting pretty in the craft room why now hem the black velvet track suit I bought and wear it, looks so comfy..just got that done and have coffee in hand, mouth watering for Dianne's applesauce cake..my problem with making it is I can't stop eating it, have to freeze it right away.
Dianne, does feel nice knowing all the winterizing is done and the snow can fall..this weekend I've a few little things to do which I can do all on my own..I've got the cover top for my little camper out, will try to get it to the canvas shop to have them make it out of a more rainproof material and do some alterations that I would like..hopefully Saturday I'll be able to get it there. I've been closing my eyes to the leaves though, meant to call and have Bernice's grandson do the work but didn't, watch, I'll procrastinate long enough that the snow will be hear...
Don't have a Cuisinart Dianne, but when the girls and I stopped at the Liquidation Nation they had one for $99.99 not sure why so cheap but 2 of us were tempted, it's the storing that becomes the problem..hmmm how else can I mince the ham..ohhh my little chopper should do it right?
Your recipe is on my weekend 'cook' list
Laura, look at all the projects you'll be able to do now that you have no wheels and can't get around..I always laugh at the fact that when the vehicle is in the yard you rarely think of using it, when it's not, you think up a zillion things you need it for.
Are you all organized now in the basement, no more rain??
Mary, how overwhelming for you to be a single mom for so many years..guess if you think of creative ways of having extra eyes / hands helping out you can find some. How's work going, last time you mentioned it there was a bit of a problem and you were not sure how the outcome would be???
Your thanksgiving is not this weekend but next correct? you will all be planning and having family over and I'll look forward to hearing about all your antics, each and every one of you..
Well, better go get dressed, eat my pretend applesauce cake, mouth watering already and head to work; might leave early just so I can go and get a magazine to read, fill in my day, of course, it will have to be a craft magazine..
Yikes Linda called me last night to remind me I said either Saturday or Sunday her 3 girlfriends could come and I'd do a craft with them, do every year but it's early for them to come..said I would so now I have to think what could we do???
Betty I always use leftover ham or pork picnic shoulder - ya can only eat it so many days in a row and since it is just 2 of us there is always leftovers. If you are buying your ham you might want to ask the butcher (you have a Foodland, right?) to grind it up for you. If they have the grinder already out I am pretty sure they will do it for you. If the grinder is not out and they are not planning on using it that day they definitely will not do your grinding. The grinder is very difficult to clean.
Excellent price on the Cuisinart at 99.99. I use mine almost daily so it sits on the counter but out of the way. Not only do I grind with it, I mix up pie crust, make cabbage salad, finely dice up veggies - the sky is the limit on what you use it for .....mine has 4 attachments, even 1 to cut french fries with. Love that one!Remember the old grinders that we used to bolt to the table? I used one for years, especially when making relish in the fall. Think mine is a door stop now somewhere downstairs.
Make sure you all do something nice for yourself today!
Dianne
Funny that you started talking about Applesauce cake. I've had a "Peanut butter Applesauce cake" recipe sitting on the counter for a week. Sue gave me the best homemade applesauce so I made the cake this morning. It sure does smell good! It's cooling now.
Sue is coming to make hypertufa troughs today. I'll help her get started and then make some mushrooms. It's to be 70 again today so a perfect day for it. Besides having this to do this morning will keep my mind off the interview to come this afternoon!
Betty I think I gave you a bum steer about the grinding of the ham. DH says because it is of the pork family Foodland will NOT grind it. Sorry! But you little chopper should do the job just fine.
Mmmm peanut butter applesauce cake sounds good.Enjoy your warmth it is sunny but cold here.
