communication is always good

Except in marriage.

Congrats to your son Victor.

Thomaston, CT

Great report card! Takes after his Mom, I assume? LOL My oldest GK, HayHay, who's only in kindergarten, is a self motivated worrywart! My son sounded just like yours, Ronnie.....gifted & talented in art, smart & incredibly lazy! However, when he got to college that all changed....he was excellent in his field....landscape architecture....and along with a professor, got Uconn's program accredited.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, ladies!

For those of you who know Stormy on the MA forum...go over here http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1140158/#top
and send her some well wishes....she had a really bad fire at her house

Anyone have any thoughts on what they will do when they go to an airport that has these full-body scanners?? Anyone deal with it yet?? I don't know what I'll do. I think it's horrible, especially since it does not provide any additional security! The underwear bomber would not have been caught. It does not pick up anything in body cavities. And, of course, it does nothing for cargo, which was the last choice with the toner cartridges. And they cost millions!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

if I were a pilot... I would not be happy

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

On a radio talk show last evening the host said we should do what they do in Israel. I have no idea if he was teasing or not but said they have a booth and each person enters. If there are any explosives they blow themselves up and don't hurt others. Sounds ideal!

Did you hear about the woman with the underwire bra? She failed the X-ray and needed a pat down and they went under the bra to check! Why are we always fighting the last war and not the next attack?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

If I were lonely, I would be!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, that's the problem. Now we won't allow toner. Duh!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Certainly makes me want to avoid flying. It's just such a hassle.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, I did. And the promise that images were not saved is bogus.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

They found 25,000 saved images in Florida.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Crazy.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

That's lousy...

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

This country is going crazy

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

They could probably see the hanging chads in those images.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i've listening to talk radio on the drive in - if you turn down the body scan the will do more than a pat down - folks calling in were very detailed for women it was literally invasive for want of another word - i think i would snap if some tsa did that to my wife. not worth flying anymore.

Thomaston, CT

I hate to fly anyway!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

No, it's not worth it unless you have to, (IMO). They'll punish you for not using the scanner by making it more unpleasant to have the body check along with longer lines and the added possibility of missing your plane.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i say profile away - if it looks like a duck...............

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

- It doesn't work, the profile mark is usually the decoy.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Agreed, WC.

Last time we flew it was 2006 and though the flight was fine it was still a hassle getting to the airport two hours early and then all the X-rays, shoe checks, etc. I'll take Cape Cop or Maine (or both) anytime over flying.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

The Israelis use profiling and it has worked well for them.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

That's not all they use.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Well, torture helps too. ^_^

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

It's like the coming attractions: 'coming to a theater near you'...

South Hamilton, MA

I prefer the scan to a pat down. However they seemed to do both when I flew last spring. Hope to go to OK this April. Perhaps can borrow a tornado.
