Good morning!! It's to the polls today!! Do your civic duty, make your vote counts... I'll be voting according to what I know about the candidate, not from the commercials!

LK, it's the same way here. Warm days, but cold nights. No signs of browning on my ginger leaves, but the Empress tree has already begun to shed its' leaves. The crepe myrtles are slowly showing off stark limbs, but the persimmon trees' leaves haven't changed color. That's a conflicting report ain't it. We can always tell from the plants.. but not this time.
I hope we won't be getting a severe winter as the heating cost would escalate.

Crissy, we'll trade. You take Hambone and I'll take the pup!! Lolol.
I hope the pup gets a good home.

LOL Jaye! I can't take any dog, I don't have a fence, thank goodness or I'd be adopting all of her dogs, that's how sweet they are!

That's the absolute best way to declutter! I can't believe how much crap I can save without even realizing it.

Linda - how old is your dad? I'm sure you said, but I've forgotten. Good that he's settled in, and the heat - well, it Will go away LOL

As for moving being a way to declutter - I did that when I prepped the mobile for selling, now it's worse than ever, cuz I brought back some stuff from storage when it didn't sell, and I haven't "found their homes again" in the mobile.........

Dad is doing well! He loved the flight. We flew through Salt Lake City, and flying in, we saw all the pretty mountains that surrounded the city! All covered in snow! it was so pretty!

ok - phone interview over - it went very well. it was with a peer in another city - Edmonton. She wanted to know things like "have you ever worked with people at this level before?" "How would you build relationships with other areas (who to contact for leaky faucet; how to get a person set up with a network......)"
Apparently I got through it well. Now, to go get my skills test this afternoon at 1pm.

I love flying into Salt Lake, it's the prettiest I think!! I have a DG friend there too, going to get to see her someday soon, I hope...

Just have a minute...wanted to tell you all that Mom had her C-scan today. They had a terrible time with her veins...they kept rolling, but they got what they needed. We were at the hospital from 2:15 till 4:45. Not too bad...now we wait until the 11th to see her surgeon and find out what's where....he may want to turn her over to an oncologist...we'll just have to wait and see.

They turned me down for plasma donation today....said there was a problem with my last blood test. Last time this happened they told me that sometimes the body just needs a rest,,,,so guess I'll be resting!

Tonight is garden club...we're making wreaths for the birds. Should be fun. Ok...gotta run..

LK, Marion should be with her sister right now. Still have to attend to her mum. Supposedly to be back before Thanksgiving, unless I got my info screwed!!

Cookie, I empathise with your mum. Me here got very very tiny veins and the technicians had to use the finest needle. At one time, hospital had to call the 'specialist' on her off day, just to find my vein!!
Drinking lots of water before a blood test, do help sometimes.
Show us what you make! That will be interesting.. wreath for the birds.

Jaye, my veins are the same way! Very small, and they always have to use pediatric needles to get into them!

Doesn't that drive your apprehension further, LK? The minute the technician says make a tight fist... I start praying!!!

Did vote, but had not followed the elections result. I'm trying to stay positive that for the GOOD of the country, the right politicians win.. Democrat or Republican. Talk is cheap right?
I can assure you all, one thing I don't do is vote for anyone who has any association with any banks :( We've been burnt by them...

my dearest friend of 20 yrs just had a hysterectomy and they goofed ! and her bladder and kidneys are messed up. DOn't know the medical term for it as she told me, sorry . She is the sole provider as her hubby is a stay at home dad . and a great one !!
they may loose their house , they have 5 kids at home.
live in country log home in ID. nothing fancy its 100 yrs old.
they are good christian folks, who love God and Dedicated there lives to him .
so i ask if i may, as i humble myself on my knee's, as i pray for her and family tonight
could you give an extra prayer for her and family

Sue - I've said a strong prayer for your friend. It would be better if they could fix the botched surgery, but I gather that's not the case? If they could do that, then she'd recover quickly and be back to work. This would be best. Dear Lord - if that cannot be, then please make sure she has a good lawyer..............!

Well, Don's back to work today... and we got a lot done while he was home... even though it rained all day yesterday. We discovered a leak in the roof where we removed the vent a hood on the sun porch.. but it was really strange... even though it continued to rain, the sheet rock dried up. Guess Don will be on the roof as soon as it's dry enough to do that safely.

Watched the election pretty closely last night, and will be watching the press conference today. I'm pretty happy about it... I won't get in trouble here... so, I'll shut up now.

Well, the dry wall man just showed up. Still taping and bedding... no texture yet.

Glad you're home LK, and have your dad is back with you... tell him HI for me... such a precious man.

Well, it's official. Sis Kathy has a new address! She did say that she'll be able to raise poultry.. so by next year, I'll be looking forward to her guinea gumbo :D

I had to vote for one candidate with the wrong party, as I know him to be a very honest man (a strange attribute there). I am very glad that he's reelected again.

Got the call today from the shipping company... our floor will be here tomorrow... WHOOPIE !!!
But, I won't get to paint until next week, and another week of trim work... and need some more time to do some other stuff... so, we're a ways away from laying floors.

BTW... speaking of neighbors... some of you remember the neighbor we visited when some of you came to visit... Cookie called him the HUNK... Mike and Sandy across the street from me. Well, Sandy died a couple months ago... just died in her sleep... Mike will never be the same, and is still taking it really really hard. She had just retired from the phone company, and was taking courses to become a "life coach"... had not suffered any apparent illness... but her heart just stopped beating. She will be missed by so many, including me... a very nice person.

Yep, Jaye... I did the same... I don't vote a party ticket... but I do my homework and vote for who will work for "the people"... or at least, who I think will do the job.

BJ, that's so sad. Wish I had met her. Mike will always have a piece of her in his heart. That beautiful home will not be the same anymore.

So sorry Susan!! I had to feed Hambone outside, and then decided to neaten out Kel's workshop for a spell. Will be needing one of the corners of the workshop to overwinter some plants, and hopefully Hambone will leave them alone.
Can't use the sunroom, as I've decided to use it for crafts/sewing.

LK my dear hubby out-thought himself! He's so cute, he was going to buy a ham to cook for my birthday dinner tonight but saw pork shoulders on sale, so bought one of those instead, didn't notice that the ham takes 2 hours and the shoulder takes 6 hours. I'll be home in just over 2 hours so that won't work. He doesn't really want to spend the money to go out to dinner gggrrrrrr so we agreed on homemade burritos and I'm going to stop by the liquor store and get some wine and a few other items (have to get prepared for eggnog you know...) lol

OK! I lit a Cinnamon Twist candle and apparently it's really strong, everyone in the office can smell it and it's making everyone hungry!

Yep, LK... the jet skis are in retirement for the winter.
Next project?... can't think about that right now... but probably will replace the kitchen counters with some granite or something next year. Got to get over this project first, then see what we want to tackle.

Crissy... MEN, in all their infinite wisdom, really do try to please us sometimes. Gotta love em.
