The insurance is part of the reason, but the biggest reason has to do with the Privacy Act. Lots and lots and lots of prayers for your mom Joyce, and your dad, you, and your family.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

((((((((((Cookie, Mom & Dad)))))))))))
lots of prayers for your family - it may Not be the "C" word, but best to be prepared anyway...... I wish I'd met you this summer......
Marion - I tried to call you yesterday - you're still home, aren't you?
Jaye - glad to see you online, but I thought the virus would make it difficult?? nasty virus!!
Crissy - your Mom is in my prayers, too. She can be difficult, I know, but I feel I know her, through you......

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Nope, I will be out of pocket until the middle of November. Some issues need to be addressed regarding Mom's care so I am back with my sister. Some days I am lucky and have no problems getting on the computer--other days--forget it.

Joyce, oh how I relate to the situation with the doctors. We spent 3 months taking Mom back and forth and to the emergency room 3 time before we took matters into our hands and called the gastroentrologist. It is just unbelievable how pro active you have to be these days---same with Rehab Centers. Hugh hugs and prayers for all of you.

You know I was sitting here thinking of how it didn't used to be this way with drs, but I think it was, it has gotten worse with insurance and all, but I had major urinary tract problems when I was born, check this story out: Everything was fine when I was very small, but the more I grew the more problems I had with bladder infections and all. My mom kept taking me to the this dr. and that dr. and they all wanted to shove a tube into my urethra, which hurt like &*Y*&, and the tests from that would always come back showing a bladder infection and nothing more, so onto the medicine I would go, and yes it would clear it up as long as I was on the medicine but as soon as I ran out the infection came right back within the same week. By the time I was seven it had gotten so bad it was almost intolerable for me, I was always peeing my pants, always bleeding, the pain was completely unbearable, and my mom decided to take me to an urologist. Dr. LeFever took one look at me, without any of those painful stupid tests being done, told my mom that I needed exploratory surgery yesterday, I was clearly dying from something (they didn't have ultrasound and CAT scans and all of that back then) . The following week I went into surgery and he found two ureters on the left and one on the right, the left ones were all twisted around each other, preventing my bladder and kidneys from growing. They were a newborn baby's size, hadn't grown a millimeter since the day I was born. He untwisted them, thought about taking one of the extra ones out but both of them were working fine so he left it. I remember him telling me that I would always have bladder infections because of this strange birth defect. I have not had one bladder infection to this day.

Your parents are so lucky to have you. We'll be right here for you.

Susan, I'd written that Kel did a system restore and that seems to be working this time.. touch wood.
Last time, we couldn't even work behind the 'pop-up'!!

Now y'all with kids.. consider yourself very lucky. Your kids will be there to make sure you all have the best medical care... like someone here had said time and time again.. be nice to them.. they will be the ones to choose your nursing home! :p

Maid M., have your sister accepted your mum being better off in a nursing facility?
Wish we're all living closeby.. with our experience in caregiving.. we'll be perfect help for you and Cookie!

((((((((((((((Crissy))))))))))))))))))))
I thank the Lord, He sent you to a good doctor!!!!

helloo everyone
Cookie sending big big (())) to you and your family at this time.
crissy my golly what an ordeal you had as a child.
Marion hope things are going ok for you with yoiur mom
Thanks Seed for the kind words. I know she is trying to get me to focus on her and get my emotions up high !! with her games.
She has two sides One is vindictive and evil, the other is easy going and cooperative, but once you make her try and " do it herself " she goes and creates chaos. Right now she is creating chaos to see who will bite first . Not me. If i don't cooperate and give her what she wants, she will then go evil on me and try her tricks ect... *sigh* never ending. i am used to it.
hugs to everyone

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

ah - behind the Pop-up...... always easy to do "Alt/Tab" to bring up the "window" you want to see, or "Ctrl/Alt/Del" to get rid of something you want to. Often, doing "Alt/Tab" will let you force a window to come "to the front" when you don't even know it's hidden!!
I'd seen that Kel'd found the way past the Pop Up, but didn't realize it was totally fixed now.

Marion - keeping you in my prayers that your family will find the strength to continually get through this.

Crissy - so you're still young enuff to have "newborn parts" LOL Glad your Dr got this resolved! What a horror to have to go through this for so many years!!

Sue - bless you for the strength to put up with her Games, and not "buying into" them. It's difficult, I'm sure

Hugs to all in need, and hugs just for the heck of it for everyone!!

Susan I had that operation when I was 7, in 1979. Thank God I was too young to remember most of it. I had the surgery in February and my 8th birthday was November 3rd. He said without a doubt that without the operation I wouldn't have made it to my 8th birthday.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

OMG Sue... you need a degree in criminal psychology in dealing with your daughter... not that she's a criminal..
Apparently her conscience department needs some work. Points for you sistah for knowing how to deal with her. It would be easier if she's close to you, and you can expose her shenanigans.. but then.. that may be a blessing in disguise too.

Can't do CTRL, ALT, DELETE Susan. The virus just kept spawning itself. He just navigate behind the pop up, without using CTRL, TAB.
It was a relief that he could do a system restore unlike the last time.
As soon as it restored to the chosen the date.. he went straight to FB :))
Called the pc geeks, and they said we're very lucky this time. Apparently this virus isn't as vicious as the other one. Then when I asked them about probability of getting another pc to replace this.. their reply was no guarantee as hackers get more and more sophisticated, especially those from the Eastern Bloc.

Oh well.. cooked a pot roast, did corn bread.. unfortunately got a bad batch of Martha White, and it didn't rise.
Now I don't have the appetite for a pot roast dinner!!! Hmmm.. might ask Kel whether he'd go for Chinese food, could always have pot roast tomorrow!! Lol!!!!!!! Baaaaaaaad me....

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

ggrr I hit send and I didn't want to lol

Yes Cookie your parents ARE lucky to have you!

LOL Jaye, tell me about it!!!! The more I want or don't want something the harder I knock on that wood!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Jaye I think there's something wrong with your antivirus, Dave's on FB every day and we never have a problem. We don't do the applications, but never the less.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Crissy... it's not FB, it's Yahoo.

Anything that I opened up from that website (Yahoo), it kept saying "operation aborted"... but nothing wrong when I open from Google. AND, if I were to go directly to FB or Cubits from Yahoo, I'd have the same problem.
So this goes on, until that night, I wanted to download off Yahoo.. one of their news spotlights.. that's when a Trojan Horse warning appeared. Whatever it was overrides the antivirus.
Henceforth, my homepage is now Google, though I dislike its' format!

Not into games on FB.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sistah Judy.... is that hanging limb taken care of??
It's the PR finals tonight. Don't think I'll be watching it since that Gretchen woman's not eliminated. And from what I read in the blogs, she's the winner, not Mondo, as her designs fit Birkenstock sandals and guess who's paying Heidi to lend her name??? Yep, Birkenstock.. so..
But the grapevines did say, to compensate Mondo.. he'll be having his own show with Michael C.. like that Santini and Austin show.
HOPE Mondo wins and these are all rumors!!

By the way, Crissy... I'll be getting a new anti virus software this weekend just to make sure...

Jaye my Oldest DD is mentally unstable with a personality disorder . Yes it has taken a few years to learn how to deal with her
i can't have her close then she will become a hazard to people around me and others.
She is not always evil just when her other part of her brain takes over. sad
kids went tricks or treating and go some gummy eyeballs and i showed them how to lick them and put them on there forehead LOLL funny stuff . simple things amuse me
praying for you Cookie and your mom
good night my friends and sleep well
sue

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Lean down a l'il now Sue... I'm giving you a great big hug!
You do the best you can with your DD, and your best is all that matters . In the meantime, Savannah and Austin need your wise guidance.

Good night sistahs... tomorrow will be a new slate...

Copied and pasted:
Sorry I didn't read through all the posts I missed-a bit tired and afraid that I will zone out into zombie land by reading this am....I did see the quilt-It is gorgeous LK!!! And we had a tornado warning too with the cyclone over MN. Had 3 bags to take with us downstairs of baby and animal stuff-mom was laughing at my preparedness;) They said that this has happened 6 times in history-the worst being in 1918, this one was 2nd worst and the #5 was the storm that sank the Edmund Fitzgerald.

So last week we took Jonathan to the pumpkin patch (I think I told you all about that) and the next night he started getting a matted eye. I freaked of course and wanted to take him to the Dr the next am, mom said it was probably the wind and to just wash it out with a warm cloth every time he wakes for a feeding. After several times of that it got all better, so I was able to stop freaking out. That day we went to my grandparents 3 hrs away. It was an OK visit. My grandma is a bit hunched over and her hands are shaking and the strength in her arms wasn't good enough to feed Jonathan-she gave it a good try, but I had to help her a bit. My grandpa is the same jerk he's always been (told me I looked really fat and asked if I was pregnant again), but I think his mind is starting to go a little. He said he wouldn't recognize Chris if he saw him on the street that he looked so different (the only thing different is that he wears his hair a little shorter) and he didn't know who my cousin's kids were.....we stayed a couple of hrs then drove back so I wouldn't have to drive at night since I am always exhausted.

On Monday I went out and ran a few errands while Mom stayed here with Jonathan and one thing I got was fabric to make her a rag quilt for Xmas. She said she really liked mine and wanted something cheerful. See pic below for fabrics. I think that is my fave part of sewing-picking out fabrics!!LOL After I got home I called the Dr since Jonathan was still seeming to have digestion issues even if they weren't as bad as B4 and had to run back out to get Mylacon drops. Went to Walgreens first and they wanted $14.99 for them, so went to Kroger to Dark Caro Syrup to help him poop and their drops were only $3.98!! YEAH-I was soooo glad I didn't get the ones at Walgreens.

We finally got the disk in the mail with his professional pics and I played around with them to give them special effects like Sepia and such. Now I will have to email the family them to see which ones they want....I also got a box from Chris's brother with some clothes for Jonathan and some hand lotion stuff for me since my hands are getting so dry from washing bottles and such 3 times a day and washing them B4 feeding him. The clothes are adorable and I was floored with the gift receipt from Lord & Taylor-heck-I could probably cloth him for the next year with the $$ spent on the 2 outfits, sleepsack and 3 onesies!!

My mom got a job, so she is leaving a week early and driving back to Atl on Sunday. It is bottersweet-happy she got a job, but sad she is leaving and sad that I have to be alone with all the feedings for a few days;)

Chris's uncle died a couple weeks ago and now MIL is in St. Louis because grandpa is not doing well. They think that some of the plaque from his arteries has broken loose and went to his brain. He is in pain unless on muscle relaxers, his memory is nada and he doesn't want to eat or drink. We all think it is just a matter of time. He doesn't even know who Mom is a lot of the times. He did live a great 102 years though.....you all know that I do not pray, but if you do, please pray that he passes without pain and that he knows somewhere deep inside who we all are and that we love him dearly. Gotta go-my tears are blurring the screen..

Sweet picture, Stacey...my first smile of the day....

Sorry I didn't get back to you yesterday, but I just wasn't up to posting. The biopsy confirmed it is cancer. We won't know much until the catscan is done. Bethesda Medical called her day before yesterday to tell Mom about her appt. She freaked...she's never been to Bethesda and doesn't want to start going there NOW! So she told them that...they said you have been here, but she HASN'T! So while at the Dr.s ofc., she told the Dr. she wanted to go to Kettering or Sycamore and that is where they will set it up now. So just have to wait for their scheduling person to call her.

Both Mom and Dad are in excellent spirits. (Better than I am....) and since Dad had a cancerous tumor on his colon many, many years ago that they removed and he has had no recurrance of, they're both hopeful that she will beat this as well. She asked me if I blamed her for not wanting Chemo at her age, and I of course, said that I understood that she didn't want to go through those awful side effects. She stated that she is 90 and has led a rich, full life. I just can't imagine my life without my mother.....

Thank you all once again for your prayers, and I'll add your Grandpa to mine, Stacey....

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Sending prayers today to you both, Joyce and Stacey. May you be filled with strength for whatever comes..

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning... where are the rest of my sunshine!!!

Morning Barb!! I've finally exhausted your candle!!! Love that curry spicy scent it gave. Thank you so much!!

Precious, precious Jonathan.
Stacey, poor you... with your mum leaving... you'd be more tired. Wish we're close enough to help.
Definitely will say a prayer that great granpa will be spared of any pain.
Love your fabric selection. They're so bright!!

Cookie, you know that I admire your parents? More so now since your mum's facing that drasted "C".
You and your family will always have my prayers and support sistah. Tell your mum that not many adults.. no matter their age can look back and say that they have had a rich life. She's so blessed.

Rained yesterday morning, so didn't do my thrift store jaunt. Sun's peeking out just now.. and I don't feel like taking a drive... :(
Didn't have to cook.. got that pot roast from yesterday. Yep, had Chinese supper last night and I had some big mussels!

Think I'll just do some heavy reading.. get into the Word and finish some sewing.

Crissy, since Miss Perfect is gone... I've been missing some humor lately!!! Have a great day at work, sweetie.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

((((((((((((Joyce))))))))))))
((((((((((((Stacey)))))))))))
I don't think I could say it better than I did, in the other threads.....

Waiting to hear today if I got the job....... should be end of the day, however, as it's been a week since they said they'd let me know on the 28th, I'm not hopeful

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Miss Perfect is gone? Hallelujah! I'd missed that somewhere.....

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

OOHHH Jaye I thought it was FB for some reason. Which antivirus are you getting? I use MacAfee at home and I never have any problems.

Ms. Cheerful isn't gone from my work life, lol she still works here. I moved into a private office so I don't sit up there with her anymore. I bet you do miss the action though!! LOL

I'm dragging today, one of my next door neighbor's dogs is in heat and she keeps getting out, last night she wouldn't even come up to us and she had 5 dogs following her and decided to camp out beside my bedroom and bark, yelp, cry, growl, fight, and so on. This dog is full of tumors, my neighbor is 26 years old and going through a divorce and has to work two jobs now to keep up with the mortgage because her husband isn't sending his half of the money like his court order tells him to do, she can't afford to give the dog surgery, can't afford to fix her, can't afford to put her down, I don't know, I'm thinking about putting her down myself. She said last night at 10:30 as she was coming home from her second job that she can't take care of any more dogs and asked if we thought she was in heat. I said, YEAW!! Of course she screamed a few obscenities and said that she's too busy for puppies and who knows which dog got her. Us putting her down would help my neighbor out as the dog isn't going to live, she's as skinny as a rail because the tumors are taking all of the nourishment she's getting from her food, but is it wrong to put someone elses dog down, even if the situation would be better for everyone involved?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

If she's so sick already, would having the pups kill her? Then the owner would be left with pups, and no way to feed 'em! This happens all the time......

As for the job - my DH has called me 2x this am, and I told him every time I hear the phone I think it may be them! He's promised not to call LOL
I'll let everyone know when I hear about the job......

Hi all please need prayers for hubby he is in stage4 prostate cancer having alot of bone pain as cancer is in the bone now I still have him at home trying to cope as well as possible.some days are
really bad . He doesnt sleep very well even with sleeping pills and pane meds but we are trying to make it.
Well enough of my problems.
Am sending prayers out to all.
Your friend sissy70--judy

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Shoot this would be the second litter, the first litter was on purpose, when she was married they wanted to breed Rotties so they had a good stock male and the female looked just as good then, but mom dog wouldn't feed the pups and Diana ended up feeding all 8 of them, she took them to work and everything! 5 of them ended up dying because mom dog laid down on top of them in the middle of the night. I'm more worried about the pups having problems from not being from healthy stock (mom) and being extremely hard to get rid of. She has to sell her house and move at some point, what would she do with a bunch of Rottweiler/Pit Bull mix puppies. I saw a Golden Retriever, the Pit Bull, a Beagle, and two other dog's silhouettes.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

((((((((((((((((Judy)))))))))))))))))))))))
Feeling your pain, sistah. Will pray for healing for your DH.
My FIL has had stage 4 lung cancer, and now he's 99% healed. I hope you yourself have a support system at home. Caregivers need help too.
Lord does answer prayers and illnesses in any form truly test our faith.
Still, whatever the outcome on this earth, we've won our battle for having surrendered to Him.

Crissy, you've answered your own question.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Big big big hugs Judy!! Jaye's right, caregivers definitely need help too.

LOL Susan, DH calling. That's too cute!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Whew... so much to catch up on... I'm so lost trying.
Cookie... my heart goes out to you... your mom needs you more than ever now... but you will need more prayers now than ever... I know, I've been there... I love you girl, and will keep you always in my prayers.
So many to pray for... some of you I don't know (cause I have been gone from here for so long) but know that I will keep you all in the forefront of my prayer list.

"Thank you" to my friends who are also on my FB list of friends who keep urging me to come back to DG. LK, you're such a soldier for letting me know all the time that I'm missed... I love you girlfriend. Marilyn, our "fantasy land" returns... then we have to "get a grip"... thanks.

As some of you know, we're on the last leg of the "big" remodeling jobs to be done on our house. That 70' long sun porch on the back of our house is now 3 separate rooms... a Mud Room (glorified back porch) that leads out to the back yard, a DEN (only because we didn't know what else to call that area) that is opened up to the living area by removing the 5 windows that separated it. And the Game room that will house the poker table. We have hired a professional to do the taping, bedding and texture on the sheetrock, so I pretty much have to stay out of the way for now. We found some bamboo flooring online with free shipping, cheaper than we can buy it locally, so I ordered that last night. Next week, when the walls are ready, I'll be doing the painting, then help Don with the floors. I'll be so excited to have all this behind us... and to get everything put back in it's place.

Stacey... Jonathon is soooo adorable... I know how tired you must be... but it will get better, easier, and you'll freak less as time goes on... I remember being a new MOM... I love you niece... you're so special to me, and I'm so proud that your dream of being a mom has come to pass.

Marion... if you're able to access the internet... remember that I am thinking about you at this time also... I was there with my mom too .. it's hard, I know.

Jaye, what a trooper you are... such dedication to your friends here to keep this thread going... even through all your trials and troubles... Yahoo did the same thing to me on my old computer, and I ended up having to get a new one. I only use google now. Don downloaded Kaspersky anti virus protection on all our computers now... seems to update faster and more frequently and work better than the Norton and McAfee we used before.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

What a situation, Crissy........ not sure how she answered her question, Jaye....

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

((((((((((((((((((((((BJ))))))))))))))))) So Missed You Girl!!!!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Crissy... my suggestion is to have the dog put down... she probably won't survive the birth of her pups, anyway... and I'm sure your neighbor would consider you a "god send" for doing it. I'm just sayin'... it's the most humane thing to do, IMHO.

Thanks Susan... If I didn't know for a fact that I'd spend the whole day on DG, I be here more often... but I know me, and my addictive nature...

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

BJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is SO wonderful to see you!!!! Glad you're almost done with that huge project, I bet it looks awesome!!! I know how that is BJ, sometimes I don't get any work done at work! LOL that's not completely true as I'm not behind in my work, but I do sit here and say over and over again in my head, 'I really need to get to work, I really need to get to work!' LOL

My neighbor doesn't work tonight so I'm going to go talk to her about it, maybe we can both take her to the vet Saturday morning and I'll pay the $70.00. That seems to be the logical thing to do.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

^_^ and me, and my addictive behaviour!!!

Glenview, IL

Hi, OH BEEEJAYYYY!!!! How happy to see ya Sistah>

Oh my sounds wonderful your project almost complete. Waiving hiya Don.

Heavy sigh and pouting Jaye, NO the limb has not been taken down. DH, getting home late, looked at it and said it will be fine, grrrr
and I just shake my head okie dokie then, when it falls through the window, I don't wannah hear one word, not one!!
Thankfully winds have died away. Hopefull he better get to it soon though...
Hands on hips, i am still waiting for him to at least cover the roof, got a leak thats been "fine" for awhile...ROFLOL, I am making a list that just keeps on growing...Poor guy, works so dang hard and it just never ends. But he takes things out on his bike, before ya know it too dark to do anything...But he gets his ride in. He needs it and I guess so far things are fine, lol roof is still on the house and not in sun-room.

OH, Judy...Prayers going out for you. Yes Caretakers are almost #1 on the prayers list. Many Armaraps to you...
And Prayers for DH.

Stacey, OMG the most Precious, precious photo of baby Jonathan...That one is my very favorite of all i've seen now.

LOLOL, got so excited to see BJ, forgot all I wanted to say!
So, have to back track and re-read...

BBL.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL, Judy... you're a hoot.
I get that from Don a lot too... and still waiting for the shoe to drop on all the "it'll be fine" things that need to be taken care of...

Watching CNN, and wondering if I should accept any of the 3 packages I am expecting today... hmmm... don't think they'd target a house in "small town" Texas... ya think?
Hoping everyone is on their toes in Chicago today, just in case one package slips through the safety net.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

OMG! Weird, when I was driving to work this morning watching a plane take off and another one land I was thinking that I don't think I'd be in the air today but had no clue why I would think that.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

what's this about "accepting packages"????? Is there a bomb somewhere? I'm lost.......

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Susan... watch CNN... it's all they can talk about right now.
