I can see by your early post that you are up and at it, awful feeling for sure worrying about more flood damage..is your house built in a low laying area or is it drainage problems around the house that's causing you so much problem..the flooding I had was when the torrential rains came for about 3 days and the ditching system infront had been plugged by neighbors changing pattern of water flow, thank goodness I've done the painting of rocks on basement floors so no damage to it and was at the time doing the drywall so we changed some of the insulation and all was ok..just can phanthom why you've not heard from the insurance company yet??? hope they are not short of $$$...
It's rained here all night, calling for more today and tomorrow, watch if it's not sunshine on the weekend and I have to make costumes which will likely take me all weekend if not more.
Enjoyed your coffee, not much in the house in way of sweets, should have baked you some right? maybe tomorrow morning!
Bev, know both you and Scotty are in my prayers this morning; please drop in with an update or even a 'hi' so we know you are ok..
Sure wish there was a way of knowing how Tubby and Shirley are doing, as well, our Australian Laura...
Mary, no need, if you are willing to give him up I'll travel down and pick him up, I've got wheels and accommodations now so won't be a problem, besides I'll be able to see you wave goodbye.
Mary, got to tell you a story which you've just reminded me of..in all the years of sewing I'd purchase my material and my sewing machines at T & G remnants, Ted was the owner..I imagine he was maybe a few years older than I, divorced I think, but I'd walk in front of the store window to see if other buyers were in the store or someone else at the cutting table, Ted would always compliment me on something or other, when I'd be looking at material he'd come next to me to see what purchase I wanted, he'd lean over and take a deep breathe and tell me how lovely I smelt etc.etc. made me kind of nervous..always tried to bring someone with me when shopping..then Roger died, it was about 1 year later asked me out for the evening, oh my god, I panicked, said no, I wasn't up to it, he got offended and said 'I didn't ask to marry you I just wanted to take you out to a show and for something to eat' yikes, that about did me in for shopping at his store..about 6 months later I went out with someone, guess Ted had been asking different people about me and they said they'd seen that I had gone out a few times, well, next time I was in his shop he made it clear how disappointed he was...about a year later he married a lady who was marrying and divorcing all the merchants on the main drag..lol..she was in the store one day when I was there telling me of all the newest machine/serger and sewing play things she had, I smilled...so see, could have had me one of them AND I blew it...as it happens, he died, she got the store, sold it, moved on to another merchant.. there you go.
Must go put away my sewing gear as the painting girls will be here today..Ann brought her project last night when she was over for Bingo, lordy, the cookbook covers will be stunning, she'd 3/4 done her 1st. We're to get together to paint them but finding time is almost impossible..after the weekend we'll see if perhaps one or two nights a week we can paint for a few hours.
Dianne my girlfriend called me at work yesterday to remind me we haven't painted, sewn, got out for lunch in 3 months and wanted to get together..now comes the hard part, finding time for friends..
Should have an afternoon gathering one Sunday and call them all up, might be the only way until after Christmas.
