Best/Worse/What did I learn/chat about our day!

Glenview, IL

Good Morning!

Cold and cloudy this morning...

Welcome Maggie! Awe, your little girl is just beautiful. Adore her all dressed up wearing sunglasses, too cute.

Oh Yikes, Laura...Yep I'd bleach the green stuff too, unfortunately I think your gonna have to replace the sections. But i do hope your insurance will cover it.

Oh Betty, i am so Proud of you!! Your halo must be sparking after that weekend. Maybe mom should only take half of that wicked drug! Yikes...Hahaha, love the sign for Kitchen! Sooo, did you find any materials at JoAnnes??

Mary, Great pictures! Aw I love that FIL enjoyed the the slide show!!

Debbie, LOL, thanks for update on Betty's "man" Your too cute, So glad you two had a Good visit.
Ohhh maan, sorry to hear about the car, I hope it's just a fluke thing...

Linda Kay, Wow that quilt is beautiful!!! How nice dad will be coming home for a bit. I bet he misses his kitty...OH, got to say Thanks, re:the emails I get...OMG just Roard at the new alphabet, anyway, they sure do bring smiles when I read.

Hi Barb, OMG The quilt for your GD is remarkable!!! OH I just love Winnie the Pooh and friends...Is that your new sewing room?

Crissy, So glad the conference went well, whew lots of work for sure...OMG, You roomed with Ms. cheerful?!? LOL, I think you deserve a polished Halo too, so glad she wasn't such a mean person, hmmm wonder what the boss, I am glad he read your look!

OKie dokie then, Here is the run down of the Weekend...Dianne, nope no cottage this time...I have been out working in the jungles! Tamed back the mini forest, and yanked, pulled, tore the weeds that just refuse to give up! Well, the grounds are for sure ready to be tilled, BOOOHOOO, still no tiller, it needs a part. So Aaron called and they do not sell individual parts!! I have to buy a whole new engine, 150 smackers! Sigh, torn about what to do...So now thinking I might rent a tiller and Aaron will come a till the entire back. At least this way i can work on the never ending rock back there and get it into some sorta design. I was just giggling fool last night, just so very happy The Yard actually looks good! At long last, DH agrees with me to use the pool form for the out door plant house!

Oh, oh...Cant find my wallet! this is such a big drag, I've got a bad case of CRS again, Friday i was to go to bank for Dh. he gave me a check for a goodly amount and I could remember what I did with the thing! OMG, talk about a scare...LOL, Was practically in tears searching, finally remembered what I was wearing and sure enough there it was! So now got to retrace steps in search of my wallet, last time i had it was Saturday night...

...Skittles wants to share her banana chips!

Betty - now that you've heard what oxy does, and you're researching it more, I hope someone has a "chat" with the Dr she's seeing (IF it's only one......).
Judy - you sound like me, losing $$ like that. Makes you panic, eh? Once I'd put some away, then for some reason didn't need it, so forgot about it. Maybe someone had paid me for something, or paid me back...... Anyway, I found it when I Really Needed it, so it was a good thing I didn't use it before. At that time $20 was a "make or break" situation for bills..... about 15 years ago....

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

what a good hint, Judy! I'll have to check that out, too!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Looks great Judy, now you are ready for the winter, if I send you flight tickets would you come and rake an almost acre of yellow leaves..omg truly do need help!

You are about as careless as I am with my purse/wallet..best you get a waist bank purse and then you'll know where to find it and hang it in the same place every time you take it off..now listen to me, the girl who can't find anything telling you what to do..lucky you found the check or Steve would have had a heart-attack..

Skittles is just too adorable..can't believe he has the run of the house, I'd be so worried that someone would open a door/window and off he'd go.

Yes, did purchase a car load of material at Joann's, they had a great sale, couldn't just shop/look a whole lot but thankfully I had a list of what the costumes I'm making were and an idea of what fabrics I needed so managed to get about 3/4 of them..

Noah was over last night to take a pattern of his hand so I can can make the famous Michael Jackson glove then I'll make sock bands as well..

Victoria Harbour, ON

As hard as I try to figure out this compost thing Judy I just don't get the process...maybe my problem is it's just me and I rarely have anything to put in it.. I do when able though put all the leaves in the back bush trench so it decomposes..

Warner Robins, GA(Zone 8b)

Betty, ask her dr about darvocet. It's weaker than percocet. Also, do you have a way of keeping track of how many she takes? Many people forget they took a pill and then 45 minutes later...they take another one.

Warner Robins, GA(Zone 8b)

I'm not saying she's forgetful. The medication can cause that.

Glenview, IL

Happy Birthday Stacey!!!

LOL Susan, I hear that, i am always putting aside extra cash, it isn't very often i have extra, but every now and again...Once I put away 50 dollars and totally forgot about it. My sister was having a really hard time with income at the time and so feeling low. I was searching for something I wanted to send her and found the money, decided to send it to her for her "rainy" day.

Betty, yep just keep adding grass clippings, leaves anything from the earth...It breaks down quicker if you give it turn every now and again...I don't put my kitchen scraps in because I don't want the raccoons in the bin, every now and again i will add egg shells, coffee grains and corn husks...This year Sabrina is taking a horticulture class, So she is taking the 4 bags of leaves, lol Told her the next batch is mine...Oh do you have a bag on your lawn mower? Thats how we pick up all those leaves, plus the blades mulch them down!

Sigh, still no wallet, starting to freak out a little, Had a good amount of cash in it too, I am so not pleased!

Glenview, IL

Whew, found it!! LOL, it was in a craft bin...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad you found your wallet!

Happy Birthday Stacey!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Happy Birthday Stacey...you've got the best birthday gift ever right there in your arms..how did you make out this past weekend? Did Janice manage to drop in?

Glad you found your wallet Judy...no bag on my lawnmower, boo hoo, guess if I cut the grass about 10 times it might chop it all up. will take photo tonight for you to see what a great amount I have.

Bernie called, he's got tenis elbow so didn't do a lot of anything these past few days, promised though he'd try to get to my house to do the window trim before the weekend, knows if he doesn't I might try my hand at at...lol

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Glad you found your wallet, Judy! what a relief!!!!!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

LOL-you all are terrible!!LOL Matching these poor children up like it is the 1800's and we still betroth!!LOL MY BFF Barb has a 10mos old son and when she found out I was preggers she said I had to have a little girl so they could get married and we could be family for real!!LOL

Maggie-your daughter is gorgeous!! And how cute with the glasses and dress on!! Jonathan is our first and not sure if I told you, but he was 7 weeks early-my due date was 10/28:) It was funny-my mom called on that Friday am and told me "I better not have that baby on Sept 11th!!", I just laughed and told her I was pretty sure I didn't have a choice in it. After being in labor for almost 9hrs, with a 6cm cervix the whole time (had been that way since Wed at 10am), and his head kinda stuck in it, they did an emergency Csection on me. The odds are if I want to have more they will have to be Csections as well because of the malfunctioning cervix, but the good news is we can schedule them and I won't have to go through labor...It is so cool that they have the same Bday!! It would be even cooler if we lived closer to each other;)

BETTY-OMG-no offense to your mom, but she is lucky you two didn't just leave her in the US-you have some serious patience-I would have flipped out!!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

OK-the funny thing is that I typed that post at like 6am and got sidetracked before sending it!!LOL

Mary and Judy-LOVE the pics!!!

Thanks for the Bday wishes. My day started at 4:30am and we had a Drs appt for Jonathan-switched his formula to something that we hope is easier on his belly.

Betty-no MIL is in Lansing with some friends.....My mom is here though and I got a Bday card from Chris B4 he left and a call from my grandma today. That is about all.....right now the best present to me would be 8hrs of sleep!!LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Maybe your mom Stacey could send you off to bed and let you get that rest..how many hours do you normally sleep i.e. before Jonathan?

Lyndonville, NY

Betty check your email....the work address! lol

Verona, ON

Happy Birthday Stacey!!
Betty are you sure my mam hasn't come back and invaded your mom's body? Man alive I have lived through all that you are going through until I just had to cut myself out of her life. Moved a 6 - 7 hour drive (one way) and got Caller ID for the phone. You live so close and you are obviously a much more tolerant person than I am but something needs to be done about your mom. Is she like that with all of her kids? The percocet/oxycodone issue has to be addressed immediately so I am hoping Jim (who seems like a lovely man) will talk to the doc. What kind of dog is Rocky?
Whew on finding the wallet Judy! Why do we do such things to ourselves? I am notorious for putting things away for safe keeping and then forgetting where I put them. There is a $100.00 US bill floating around this house somewhere but I sure can't find it.
Sunny but cold outside today so snow could actually be upon us this week if the Weather Liars are correct.
Need to stoke the wood stove, BBL
Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oooh wood stove sounds wonderful, nice to nestle under a blankie while watching movies..drats, maybe I won't sew tonight on the costumes and make myself comfy, you've convinced me it's the thing to do.

LOL, hugs for you Dianne for having the strength to move far/far away..
generally she's ok, I'm the only one who seems to have patience, although my SIL Kim has it also however according to my mom is getting a bit short..Bernie, well he keeps to himself, rarely calls her, gets his updates from me...

Another 25 minutes and I'm out of here..had a 2 hr. break this afternoon.Ann called me and said Mike had tickets to the leaf hockey game tonight at the ACC and couldn't make it because he's not doing well so I called Paul who said he'd take them so had to run home get the tickets and come back for 1 1/2 hrs. oh well, got me out for a ride..not sure Paul will use them though but the tickets have been delivered.

Did look at my e-mails Debbie, was so laughing! Hey, last night after I posted about all the goodies you had in a bag for me I was folding the bag and ta da, another pressie..love the rock.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Debbie you are right, Jim is a wonderful man, I loved the hours I got to sit and chat with him.

Dang Betty, she's a basket case on that crap! Dave's mom is on Oxycontin and she's as loony as they get, but she's loony anyway, she had 6 kids, one right after the other, and admitted herself into some local mental institution every 6 months and let the kids raise themselves, never worked a day in her life but followed a local circus around for years, so she went from loony to loonier LOL And you think your mean??? LOL Yes, watch Cops Betty, they're always busting drug dealers for selling/buying on the street. Debbie on Cops doesn't it sell for something like $20.00 a pill or something?

Maggie how is Synda, where is she, I miss her! What a beautiful girl you have there!!!

Mary I'm so glad your MIL & FIL had such a great time, what a lovely looking couple, and pretty pic in the wedding dress! What fun!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY STACEY!!!!
Nice quilt LK!!!!

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

I've hada nice visit herein Lansing and got lots done, too. ileft on Thursday morning and stopped at Stacey's around 10:00 to drop off her birthday present and ended up staying the 1 1/2 hrsholding Jonathan. He just snuggles up on your chest!

Went into my old office for a surprise party for a friend and took the dog with me. She had on her "Gentle leader" collar and she was a doll. I was so proud of her; she let every one pet her and didn't go crazy once.

Friday I went to my old house and removed the stained glass fromt he kitchen cabinets and a window in the front. I took them to the place that made them and had them replace the glass with clear and put hooks on the stained glass so I can hang them at the new place. I wouldn't haveminded leaving them if the house had sold to someone who would have enjoyed them but I was not going to leave them for the bank to take over.

The friend I am staying with and I went to a craft show on Saturday and I got the neatest thing for Jonathan and a birthday gift for my daughter. Wont tell until after Stacey sees it. We went to an apple festival andthen went to a double feature movie.
Sunday went to another movie and if you are "in your mature years" like I am go see "Red". Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, the whole world of stars and it was a fun spy chase movie. We laughed and laughed! Just seewhat we old people can do!!

Today I went to lunch old friends, put the clear glass in the cabinets, had a plumber winterize the house so I can quit paying for gas and electric. Now the bank can take it anytime they want!

I go home tomorrow but need to stop at Stacey's on the way home. Have several Christmas When I Have Grandma" and I'm sure her mother feels the same. I will be so glad to get home and sleep in my own bed for a change. I don't plan on going anywhere until after the Holidays. Two and a half weeks gone is enough.

Lyndonville, NY

You know, regarding Bettys DM. I have met her....3 X now I think, possibly 4 (CRS) and the first two times she was a dear...a real sweetheart. Loves to spoil Betty and is a nice conversationalist. Last time I saw her at the Craft show, she was showing some scary signs. It was the weekend she cut her leg at the hotel, and was getting lost at the show easily, panic when not finding Betty. And this time, even more so. I believe Rocky was a schnauzer of sorts....very pretty little guy.

Crissy, I don't watch cops....but I served on Grand Jury for 3 months. I saw all kinds of drug cases, and most all involved Oxy. Yes, approx $20 a pill on the streets. Figure you get a prescription with 30 pills in it....and you have a landmind people fight for. Its is very sad. Lortab is another which is horrible.

DH is home. Gotta go look at this car. Betty, how could you NOT tell a ROCK was in the bag? lol

Debbie

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Wow Janice, that is a lot of going going on there. So glad you got to see Jonathan and hold him! I agree with you completely about the bank taking the house, don't give them anything, they'll just send it to auction.

So does anyone remember me spending $400 on my car a couple weeks ago??? Well guess what folks, gravel has shattered both BOTH fog light lenses and of course you have to buy the whole fog light, so for two it's going to cost $438.87!!!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Betty....you cracked me up.....know it wasn't fun as it was going on, but Lordy, girl you can make it funny!

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

I must clarify something about Dad. He and Mom moved into a duplex at a life care retirement community in the1970's. When Mom died he moved to a 1bedrrom in the independent living part of the building, then to a two bedroom when he married my stepmother (both in their late 80's). With Francis gone 8 years ago he had been living in the 2 bedroom by himself. Now he has moved to the Assisted Lving part of the same complex to a 1 large room.

Dad knew I was not going to live in thesame town as they were and didn't want me to worry so he made the decision to to move to the retirement complex. Hehas been there 27 years, made tons of friends and has loved the chance to meet and get ot know lots of people.

While I understand that there are still some places that don't take good care of people most of the retirement places are just great. I really learned a great deal from my father's decisions and know that they were best for ALL of us. He and Mom made so many good friends and have enjoyed the activities that we offered. I think these have helped to keep him young.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Welcome back, Janice!
So wonderful of your Mom & Dad to think ahead like that, 27 years ago. Your Dad has obviously become part of a large community, and simply moving from "apartment to apartment" within the same complex wouldn't be as traumatic as "downsizing" when people Have to move to assisted living. You're truly blessed to have (had) such loving parents.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Janice, you've had a lovely visit with old friends, how wonderful..didn't know you were letting the house in Lansing go, how terrible, from the photo's I've seen it was a dollhouse..glad you got to take some of your treasures with you! You are at home now where you are, making new friends, time to put the past behind you..wonder is we'll be as brave as your dad when the time comes to make decisions..sure hope so!! Ah, that Jonathan will be so spoilt, lucky little one.

Yes, doggie is a schnauzer, would you believe, after their last dog died I was the one who got Rocky for them??? well, he couldn't have gotten a better home, no king is treated as well!

Debbie, how right you are, mom is a dear, it's just with the stroke and the pills she's going to 'h(*l' in a handbasket..
Guess I was tired, you'd already given me so much, it wasn't moving in the bottom of the bag so thought I had it all,lol and it wasn't until I was folding the bag did I find it.

Crissy, sorry to hear about your mishap with the vehicle light covers, I have a few chips in the windshield from the same thing-gravel!! now what will you do, won't put it as an insurance claim will you? you rested after your days away? Joyce, don't you be laughing..lol...

You brought a smile to my face Debbie and Crissy, you almost seem part of my family having met most of them, well, Crissy more than Debbie...Crissy, Debbie gave me a CD with all the photo's from our trip, I especially loved the one down on the jazz road where we ate, the 3 of us look as though we're having the time of our lives and really we were!!!

Cold outside, should be out doing something but feel more like having hot bath and getting into my nightie..

Don't you find when you have so much to do you just take down time and do nothing?

Should go take photo's of Debbie's sign

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Janice - have you sold your house in Lansing, or is it gone back to the bank?

Lexington Park, MD

Betty I think sometimes when you have alot to do and are very busy your body just says(take a break) so get a blanket and curl up and watch a good show and relax..see you tomorrow.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

remember that recommendation that I got, saying I would get a job with the HR dept? Well, it looks like I will have to interview all over again at the same place. Friday am @ 8:30 MST with two new people....
siiiiiiiiiiigh no guarantees in life, are there? :-(

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty my deductible is $1000 so putting an insurance claim would be pointless, it would raise my insurance rates and because it's less than the $1000 they wouldn't pay any of it. I'm going to get more estimates tomorrow and see what happens. I'm just sick, I thought maybe a couple hundred, tops. What's bad is I don't know how long they've been like that, I haven't washed my car in 2 months! Dave's the one who was washing it and found it, I haven't told him about it yet either, he's going to freak out. Hopefully I'll be able to find someone who has a much lower estimate. I need to get my pits in my windshield fixed, it's pitted all over the place. I know that won't be that expensive!

Janice great of your parents to look ahead like that, most people don't and then when they get themselves into situations of just getting old they won't admit it and fight their kids tooth and nail.

LOL Betty, Beale Street

Warner Robins, GA(Zone 8b)

crissyr ~ I miss Synda too! I thought we'd talk a lot more and hang out together on here, but LIFE happens and we get caught up in it. She's doing ok. Busy taking care of her mom most of the time. We talk a few times a week on the phone...I only wish we could visit in person. I'll tell her you asked.
