Yes, strip the dead leaves off, and take your cuttings, put them in water. They should be OK. The tops of the plants may be a bit mushy, just trim that off!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh Cookie that is just sickening, in full bloom too. Can you find any buds that didn't get damaged?

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Thanks LK...I thought that would be the case...it doesn't matter where on the plant I take the cutting as long as it's after a "Y", right? Sad thing is we'll be back in the 70's now.....only getting down to 43 tonight then back to the 70's for Saturday and Sunday with a low of 50's.....geesh....of course tomorrow is the party....so won't be showing off my tropicals to anyone!

The plumerias should be okay...(I hope) the leaves always die off over the winter anyway....it's just getting them dug out (they're still in pots) and pulled into the basement.

Plasma day....so I'm beat....going to go hit the couch!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Uncle Kel says the same thing too Stacey! But then he's a worry wart and don't like to see little babies sick...
He does resemble you Stacey!! Awww.. so next outfit will be for Thanksgiving right? Will he be our little Injun?

Cookie, if the stems are not frozen, you might be able to salvage them.. take cuttings that aren't too soft. Even if you have to take below the Y, do so. You just have to wait on blooms!
Trim like LK suggested, and make sure they're long cuttings in case the mush keep progressing. Add some Superthrive in the water.
Or like one DGer had once suggested for mushy cuttings.. plant them directly in pots, water once till growth, and I think she had them under grow lights, that might stem the rot.
I haven't tried the second method. But, I hate to tell you this, I lost some cuttings last year as they were turning to mush, and I didn't stop the rotting in time. It didn't help with leaves falling directly into the water. Room temps were fluctuating, without my knowledge :(

No expert here for lush brugs, but I can tell you how to kill them!!!

Sue, don't worry about the beads. Take your time. It won't be December when I mail out my nieces' package.
You need to rest your body gf!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Susan, here's hoping they put you on the payroll asap!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

a....... s..........a.........p.......... YES, would be nice.... siiiiiiiigh

good morning everyone
waiting for Ric and Robyn . Lucy is going crazy this morning already chewed up some paper.
i got her to not chew on the kitchen table...... welll as i typed it she started to chew on it ! uhg. go figure ?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Sue use those rawhide chews and dried pigs ears, if you give her one of those she won't focus on the furniture as rawhide and dried pigs ears have flavor mmmmmmm
Wow hope you slow down by Tuesday, that's busy busy busy!

I used my John Deere lawnmower trailer last year, put some water in it and brug clippings and they sat in the garage all winter, growing growing growing! Just as long as you get good stem stalk and keep them wet they'll grow. If you leave them there too long, like I did with some (almost 5 months) they will rot, and you might want to change the water now and then like I didn't do..peeeew!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Crissy, that is a good tip, change the water every few days, they don't like stagnant water! Some put a fish tank bubbler in the water, and keep the water moving, but they all have to be in a large container like a fish tank or bucket.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

ARGH how do you send a dmail blast? I can't remember!

Morning all--oops guess it is more like noon. Off to run some errands today then back to sorting out some things for a garage sale my DIL will be having.

Jaye, this is for you dear lady--I actually resigned from the festival!! Wahoo--maybe now I can get caught up on things.

Mom is still very weak but making slow strides toward feeding herself again. The Rehab center has gotten special flatware that is commonly used with patients who have Parkinsons for her to use and they seem to be working. Still a long ways to go but now any progress it fantastic to me and my sister.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yaaaaaaay!!!! to you, Marion, for retiring!! you worked so hard at the Festival for so many years, I thought you'd never give it up!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Woo Hoooo Marion good for you!!! Also, I'm so glad to hear that your mom is starting to eat a bit by herself, hoorah to special flatware!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

oh Marion - Really good to hear they're getting her to eat a bit. Special care for her seems to work ^_^

OH NO! What happened?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

It was either hit with a baseball or hammer in a parking lot when we went out Saturday night.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

OUCH!!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Yea, that took some serious doing to shatter a windshield like that. My first thought was hail but it hadn't hailed LOL

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Looks like someone tried to break into your truck........
