Morning Ladies,
AW Stacey, Jonathan is so cute. Glad things are going well for you.
OK the wedding is all SET!!!! Talked to the ppl at Fantasy Inn, they gave us an extra night and a bigger room, lol. We are now staying in the Queens Quarters, lol. The chapel holds 30 ppl, but so far there are only about 15 ppl we are inviting. Still looking for engagement ring. Saw one I really like except for two things, it was yellow gold and I want white gold and it cost $8999.00!!! it is a 1 ct. emerald cut with two smaller diamonds on the side. I would post a pix of it but it in a jewerly store in Marysville. so we are still looking. May just end up getting matching wedding bands and wait for our first anniversary for the engagment ring.
Well SSD deniend Doug, but they always do the first time. He got a lawyer and filed a reconsideration. He will be seeing a spine specialist on the 21st. Poor guy with the weather turning cold he is hurting more and more.
Jaye, I meant to tell you that, that brug is from a cutting that you gave me. I have another one that has several buds on it. Can't wait to see what color it is.
Ok heading to Curves then outside to work. Time to get ready for winter yuck!!!
Oh and still having problems with PC. Found a trojan virus and it is causing something to upload all the time which it cutting my bandwidth usage down. Guess I need to take it to the doctor :( I disconnet it when I am not using it and that helps in keeping the bandwidth usage down a little. But still takes awhile to get online. Gonna call Best Buy and see what they charge.
TTYL
♥♥ Sweet Interruptions ♥♥ 202
Hey Cindy, nice to hear they gave you an upgrade for the wedding and room! Your ring sounds really nice, but OUCH on that price! Check out ebay, they are cheaper!
Hope you get your computer fixed soon!
We got our engagement ring at WalMart LOL
Wedding rings were bought at a jewellers, though - still great, 12 years later ^_^
Happy Friday everyone ^_^
LK, how's Kooshie? Have you finished your top? You do some excellent quilting, and whoever gets one from you is one lucky person. Will you share a pic when you're through?
Cookie, did you have fun last night? Funny you should write about that, as I was telling Kel that I'd love to see a stage play soon!
Nothing like live 'drama'.
Of course, sistah, who wouldn't want to give you nice stuffs!! Especially since you made her attendance possible.
Maid M., we hope you're on the mend. You certainly need all the rest you can get and leave that sewing machine, if you're me, it only adds stress trying to get everything perfect!!! Which I always fail..lol!
Now, now, now Sistah Judy. You shouldn't have too much fun by yourself in the garden. Share that joy with your kids!!!!
Tell them here's a hoe.. there's a pruner... pick them up and watch the plants sing!
If you can find those elusive fairies, you know my address. I'm sure they have their own GPS.
Saw that you called.. sorry sistah.. we went out for a nice romantic supper since our nerves had been frayed lately.
Sis Kathy, you know how I feel about having her euthanized, especially when Sissy's so young. Have you tried asking the vet to check on her thyroid? She might have a case of 'under' and hence gets 'lazy'.
Our cat has overactive thyroid causing too much weight loss, and he's on medications.
But I know, how much you love her, and you'll find some other answers.
WOW Cindy!!!! That's gonna be a beautiful ring!!!
But whatever you chose, it will still be beautiful, a reflection of your love!
Lord is trying to give you the best wedding with that room upgrade.
Tell Doug, it's that way for SSD. Ex didn't get it the first and second time, till he hired a lawyer. But Doug will get his money starting from the first time he filed, once he's approved.
As for pc virus, immediately after we had it fixed... here comes another one. But not as malicious like the other one. Just telling me I can't open certain pages, especially with Yahoo!!
But then when I close that box, the page loads up.
Did plenty of cleaning, and still it wants to stay on Yahoo.
Just yesterday, Yahoo's page was from an old date, July 13th whereas other sites were current. So.. I concluded that some idiot is trying to hack Yahoo.
Sistahs.. I have a new Google email account.
It's JSBuffkin@gmail.com
Stacey, we need our Jonathan fix too!! But you have the BEST and most blessed B'day present for your entire life, there!
I know the excitement over Jonathan will never wear out on you... and we'll be reading with glee his first crawl..
So proud of you little Mama.
BRB with more!

Susan, I don't even have a wedding band nor an engagement ring!!!!
As long as our hearts are connected, we don't need symbols ^_^
But Kel did press on to me having one, and I told him that if I needed to be marked, he might as well mark me with a 5 carat diamond bracelet!!
He shut up since then!! LOL.
BREAKING NEWS
Look what we picked up this morning!!!
This Chihuahua was sitting in the middle of the town's main road with cars going around him.
Thank God the town's speed limit is 35mph and able to avoid him.
No one approached him and we parked the truck, and Kel approached him.
He has a collar with NO tag... a very well groomed dog and no fleas.
(Karen.. if you're lurking..)
So, Kel picked him up, and of course, I can't say no.
He's home with us now and is house broken.
Left words with the local journalist, some downtown shops and I do hope he is reunited with his mama soon.
He's too pretty to be abandoned.
Next week, if he's not claimed, we'll bring him to a vet in Myrtle Beach to see whether he's been micro chipped.
For now, we're calling him "Hobo" and he responds to that name within minutes!!!
Same size as Lola, thank God, won't cost us in food and heartworm treatments but not neutered!!! And Lola's not spayed neither. Kel's talking of grandbabies.. I don't think so..
Jaye, you and my sister would make a perfectly match pair with animal rescues. Oh well, you could be doing worse things.
Tink, Jonathan is beautiful!!! Yes, I know he is a little man but he is still one beautiful baby!! Job well done. LOL
Well, no sewing today and not much resting!! Charles came over last night and while we were down stairs in the "dungeon" we discovered there is a horrible water problem. Appears like I might have a broken or cracked pipe in the ceiling from one of the bathrooms. Talk about a mess--but onward and upward or it won't get cleaned up--nor fixed.
Not my idea of starting the weekend off good.
Jaye - he's adorable!
Is this a totally new email, and the other one deleted, Jaye?
"Jaye, you and my sister would make a perfectly match pair with animal rescues. Oh well, you could be doing worse things."
ROF!!! You are so right, Maid M!!! I could be selling drugs cruising the streets!!
Wait.. I'll be profitting from that won't I??? Hmmm...
No, not worth the jail time unless they allow a sewing machine in my cell!!
Ain't that something? You're home just to fix the pipes? That got to be taken care of, if not you'll have an indoor pool.
Yes, Susan, I deleted the other one!

LOL I do believe my sister said about those same words in the last couple of weeks. I did manage to get along with all (you know the numbers) quite well until one brought in a little black snake. Ended what was starting to be a tolerable relationship. LOL Then again one brought her a roach --to her bed no less. I don't know how the roach survived but she didn't do so well.
From the amount of water on the floor, I think we might could swim. No idea how long it has bee dripping or where it is coming from so far. Thank goodness, Charles is going to rip out the ceiling and check it out so that will save me some $$$$$$$$$$$$$$---that I could otherwise be spending on fabric.

Ho Ladies,
Aw Jaye the puppy is so cute. Doug and I have been talking of getting a dog. But I am not too thrilled about getting a...................Pit Bull. The reason he wants to get one is because ppl have been going in his backyard and into his sheds and stealing his stuff.
The neighbor has a bunch of ppl over all the time and they are DRUGGIES. So I guess I can put up with that. Doug and his neighbor are going to put up a fence across the back yard. Well guess what!!!! We have found the egagement ring I am getting. We both like it alot. And it is very similar to the $8999.00 one but leave off the 8

Jaye, is your email supposed to be gmail, not google?
I tried to send you an email, and it bounced back.
Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 5.2.1 ... Mailbox disabled for this recipient (state 14).
ooooooooooh it looks so pretty, like stained glass!
Oh no, Maid M. I would have left the cat outside, permanently!!!
I'm not going to say anything with the number of cats your sister has, as we're soon on the way...if Kel keeps picking up strays.
At least your sister has some vet discount.. we don't! :(( For that reason alone, I've been sacrificing on my fabric collection. Bad case of withdrawal here :D
Cindy, you're certainly wise in choosing that ring. Kel's brother's wife has the exact same design for a carat and a half total weight in a platinum setting, which he purchased for $12,000. He says it comes with papers.. but the scale of clarity is VS2.
And diamonds have a retail sale mark up of 100% to 400. Unfortunately, it loses it's value once it's off the shelf, unless it's graded Flawless (D) or Very, very slightly included.
My first American job, was with a jewelry company.
LK, look at you!!! So simple and so beautiful, boxes showcasing the sunflowers. Good job sistah!
Yes.. you're right... it's at gmail not google. My brains are lacking!!!
Hi folks
Cindy what about a Rottie , Great Pyranese, German shepherd or some other type of mean looking but very friendly ? or maybe a Dobbie ? Great news on the upgrade on your room . fun fun.
Jaye so funny on the 5 Carat bracelet LOL and what a cutie puppy your got on your hands. God new the right person would save him.
marion so sorry to hear of your leaks :( no fun. hope the unleak soon for you.
anyone do beading ? i have a bunch of beads ( seed beads ) i found and am not going to be using them .
they come with a container . free for the taking just postage is all i ask
i will post pics if anyone is interested
well my pup is w hining so i must get her outside !
lovely night to you all friends
sue
Oooh Sue.. if you don't mind.. I'd love to have that unless one sistah here is into beading.
I'd be sending that out to my sister in France, who's daughters love to bead... and they cost a bomb there.
Let me know and I'll reimburse the postage cost.
I do agree with you there on Cindy having a Dobie. They are truly lovable creatures behind a menacing bark and looks.
Hobo's too quick to claim us as his guardians. I hate to get too attach to him and the original owners show up.
My heart will be broken..as Hobo is just like Lola. Not a yipping Chi.. quiet and gets along so well with the cats.
Morning everyone!
Sue, thank you so much... your genorisity will not go unnoticed and my nieces will not be spending their pocket money next month!
Continuing with Hobo's transition in the Buffkins' Critters Mission Home.
Kel has a habit of checking on the outside cats at night and he lets Hobo accompany him last night.
Kel told me that they've bonded... as they both peed on the same spot!!!
Oh my goodness.. no wonder some areas show yellow patches :D
It's expected that Hobo will have a bad case of separation anxiety. Will cry and whine if he doesn't see one of us. So.. he slept with us too.
Just temporary, Kel said... hmmm.. I've heard that before.
Sistah Judy, it's so good to be laughing with you again! Anytime you need a recap on PR, just give me a holler!!
Cats are singing for their food...
CINDY any big dog will work, Pits are not allowed in most neighborhoods anymore and landlords can't rent to people who have one and many many many many insurance companies won't insure houses where there's one living, or if you DO actually find an insurance company that will insure the premiums are usually tripled or higher. Same with Rotties. You need to go with a Great Dane! LOL Seriously, make sure they're allowed in the neighborhood/county/city/whatever, call the insurance company and make sure they will insure a house where a Pit lives, you can't check too much. My next door neighbor had this problem when they got a Rottweiler, their insurance company immediately dropped them and it took them 3 months to find another company that will insure their house, at an EXTREMELY high premium. They were told by many insurance agents that insurance companies see Rotties and Pits in the same category, except Rotties aren't illegal to have in most areas, Pit Bull's are.
brb...
Sorry Cindy I can't stress enough how difficult those dogs are to just maintain. There's no way I'd get a Pit Bull, there are too many other big dogs out there, and if the tweekers want Doug's stuff bad enough, no Pit Bull can stand up to a gun anymore than any other dog can.
Anyway... Good Morning!!!!!
I got back from the conference at 8pm last night and I was wiped out! My dad and his girlfriend showed up Thursday at 5pm and they were a hit! Everyone loved them and were so glad to have them there, it was awesome!
Lots of work, then a speaker starts speaking so there's nothing to do, an hour later the speaker is done and there's a 15 minute break and slammed busy again, then another speaker starts speaking and again nothing to do. It's like that for 2 days.
Driving Dave's Toyota Tundra TSS (4 door 2 wheel drive 20 inch low profile tires) was a treat at times, lol, and Ms. Cheerful was actually very nice to be around this time, I only had one problem, well one and a half problems. On Wednesday when we got to the hotel we were getting our luggage out of the truck and putting it on a luggage cart. She had 2 suitcases and some hang up clothes, I had one suitcase on 4 wheels that will fit in the overhead compartment in a plane so no biggie. She loaded her stuff up onto the cart and told me, without leaving any room on it, that I needed to put my suitcase on the cart. I looked at the cart and told her I was fine. She started YELLING at me to obey my elders and put the suitcase on the cart. Well our boss was out there helping his assistant unload her car and he looked up at me shaking his head and I looked at him and gave him this look that was supposed to say, "Really!! You have GOT to be kidding me!" She ran over to him and yelled, "Christine isn't obeying her elders!!!!" I had turned my back but suddenly all the yelling and screaming stopped and she got very nice again. Then at dinner Wednesday night we went to a restaurant where his daughter works I had a glass of Bass Beer with about a 3ft long Philly Cheesesteak, then I had a Buttery shot. I overheard her say to whoever was sitting beside her, "I'm going to have to find a new designated driver." I ignored it and when we left at 9:30pm I had 4 other people with me and of course we were fine. I even had a cop follow me most of the way, then he hit his lights, I merged over to the right lane, he flew around me and went into the college. So she was pleasant to work with, room with, and be around 95% of the time, so that's good.
Crissy, I wonder what made her 'behave'.
Glad to read that you had some fun! Welcome Home.
On the subject of pittbulls, I won't ever get one. My old neighbour had one from pup, the gentlest thing you could ever see, and it grew up with her grandkids.
One day, there was a stray running in the neighbourhood, and normally her pitt bull will just do her usual stuff.. just barking and strutting.
Not that time. All of sudden there emerged another pitt bull and charged at the stray. Neighbour's pitt bull did the same and the poor stray was mauled, no matter how hard she tried to stop it.
She had to put her pitt bull to sleep.
Vet said it's in their nature...thank God it's not a child that's been mauled. I wonder if Vic's pittbulls are truly rehabilitated?
Another case:
Kel's cousin's wife was cited too for her 'loving' PBs. She had a pair of whites, always chained and many tried to tell her to give them up as there are too many cases of PBs going rogue. Nope, she wouldn't listen, saying they are very, very gentle... until....
A new family with 2 young kids moved into the neighbourhood.
One day, the kids were playing in the fenced in yard just by themselves.
All of sudden, Kris' PBs got loose, charged into the fence and thank God (seriously) neighbour was at that time, watching the kids from her kitchen window.
She grabbed her broom and started yelling at the PBs. That had managed to stop the PBs and enough time for her husband to emerge from his workshop.
No telling what would have happened next.
Anyway, Kris was forced to give her babies up. The good thing that came out of this.. the neighbours' kids are NOT harmed.
I think the no PB rule apply to some towns' subdivisions in this county.
Don't know about insurance. Since I live in the boondocks, our underwriter never ask us on what kind of critters we have.
Living with Kel is dangerous enough! LOL!
One of Doug's best friends (he is also going to be Doug's best man) has a pit bull. The first time I saw the dog it was really friendly. Then the second time I was over at their house he growled at me. I hadn't even got all the way in the front door. The whole time we were there the dog would not leave me alone. Then the next time we went over I said "Hi Chopper" and he was fine. Brought me his toy to throw for him. But he has got a very strange look in his eyes. One time when we were over there Doug and I were outside with Chopper and Doug went in the house. Man I could not get in that house fast enough and I told Doug "DON"T EVER LEAVE ME ALONE WITH THAT DOG!!!!" He said "Oh he won't hurt you" I said "You don't know that" California has some laws about Pit Bulls also, and Doug did not know that. And when I told him he said it was BS. So I need to check out the laws for Yuba County. I hope that they are strict enough to prevent us from getting one ^_^
I would like to have a German Shepard, but Doug says that they bite more than Pit Bulls.
Maybe we better look for a Giant Attack Cat, lol
Yesterday mom and I were working outside. I was in the back and she was in the front stacking firewood in the shed. She came walking towards me holding her arm. A piece of wood fell from the top and she tried to stop it. It hit her arm and tore the skin back about 2 inches. OMG!!! made me sick to my stomache. Took in the house and got it fixed. Well it is very sore today .
Taylor will be having her tonsils out soon. She is a carrier for Strep. My daughter is having fits about having it done. I think she is affaid that something might go wrong, like Taylor losing her hearing. That is what happened to me. Guess I will be holding her hand thru this, lol.
We have counties where Pit Bulls are banned. I've heard of some states banning them altogether but I don't know if they've ever been able to do that.
Get a Lab.
NO pit bullshere either! My sons has two of th em, and he can keep them!
Cindy, sorry to hear about your Moms arm, hope it heals quickly!
Sending prayers for Taylor having her tonsils out!
Hope for your sake, Cindy.. Yuba's county one of them that banned PBs.
IEx had an albino German Shepherd, very protective and extremely intelligent.
But I've also heard the same thing about labs and dobies.
Main thing you both choose a dog that doesn't turn out to be a one master dog.
Goodness.. how far will you be moving from your mum? She will miss having you close by.
Will be saying prayers for a risk free surgery for Taylor.
LK.. did you finish the top?
I would never have a rottie, a PB, or a dobie...heard too many bad things about them all!! Have had a few Labs, and my brother used to raise them and sell them...never a problem..and never heard of them ever being any type of problem....Also Had a few german shephards, and they were great too...same thing, never heard of any problems with them other than occasional hip problems...but nothing with temperament....
I forgot that Hambone is half GS.
Sweet temperament... but very effective bark.
When I was growing up, my parents had a neighbour with 2 GS, and they would leap over the fence to attack the neighbourhood cats and small dogs...
I have about 3 more blocks to put into the quilt, but my back was killing me, so I had to walk away from the machine today!
How can you forget hambone!
My mom had a friend with 2 GS when I was growing up-great dogs. But in our apt complex in AZ the GS upstairs attacked Ruby while I was holding her-grabbed onto her leg like a chicken bone!! I started to turn in a circle hoping it would let go while the owner was trying to yank it back and when that didn't work, I thumped it on the snout with my closed fist-it let go then. I remembered Chris saying that would work a while B4 that happened since it is the same as a human getting punched in the nose. I have also seen good Rotties and bad. IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE OWNER. You HAVE to be the alpha and make your pack leader status evident VERY early. There was a girl in the same complex with the GS issue who couldn't have been more than Betty's size and she would walk her yellow lab and 185lb Rottie at the same time. There were several times where they would get away and the pack mentality made them both charge Ruby and I, chasing us into the house. And that was a LAB who are supposed to be gentle-again-depends on the owner. I have encountered other very gentle labs and goldens over the years and I LOVE Mastiffs!! Just my experiences and opinions of course:)
LK-LOVE the quilt!!
Thanks for the comments on Jonathan's pics!! I think he is too adorable too:)
Cindy-congrats on the wedding info!!
Cindy lots of thoughts and prayers going out to Taylor to have her tonsils removed.
Great news Susan!!! Woo Hooooo!!!
Mary there are 2 Rotties next door to me, used to be 3, and I go over there to just visit them, they are wonderful. The mom dog is having big problems though, she has these big tumors on the top back part of her hips, so she sits on them. She also has something wrong with one of her hind legs and Diana doesn't have the money to take care of her and we've both been looking for a rescue home for her and no one will take her because she's not fixed and Diana can't afford to fix her either, Diana will be lucky if she gets to keep her house long enough to talk her soon to be ex into selling it when nothing is selling here. She's a very sweet good dog and grew up around 2 small dogs and just needs help.
GS are very very smart!
LOL how about a Mini Pen?
when you hear of dogs gone bad , i can almost guarantee there is a bad owner behind it . Or a owner who got in over there head and just didn't know any better. They are great dogs in the right hands.
well LUcy didn't do very well in our puppy class today. she was ok the first 20 min then was hiding under my chair the rest of the class. Uhg what am i going to do with this dog ? *sigh* she is a lover not a fighter LOLLLL
Beautiful Job LK. She'll be thrilled I'm sure...
A pretty quilt, indeed, Linda.
I could not think of what to do with that bit of sunflower fabric, and now you've showcased all of the sunflower fabric so beautifully. I wish I had your eye for how to put things together. I'm such a literal person and I need to "see it" in order to "plan/do it".
Well, I saw a picture of one similar on the web, so I just tried to copy that idea! It came out pretty close!
It's beautiful, LK!!
Morning, your up early!
Coffee is ready, come and get it!
