Glenview, IL

Thanks LK!
LOLOL Susan!

K,O..back at it!
Hope you all enjoy the day...

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning!!
Looking good Sistah!! No wonder you could get me rocks.. your place is perpetually a rock haven!
Good job there.. and looking at the firewood.. looks like you're ready for winter.

Too funny Susan... Rock N Roll!!
Seems like her tune will be 'Rock of Ages'! Sigh...

Sue, the typhoon is heading close to southern Hainan Island and moving on to Vietnam after that. I've googled Haiku, and it's located north in the island. So, DH might avoid the typhoon.
Yep, better to fix cider than 'mull' over what you can't control!

Gonna be sewing today... I'm the queen of if anything can happen.. I'll be the recepient!
Truly hoping all goes well and the blocks are all of equal size. But you quilters know how that will turn out. Here comes 'fudging'!
Say LK, we got to start lobbying for a retirement home with quilting programs :D

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

♫Rock of Ages♪ cleft for me.....♫ yup, that's Judy's song, alright!!
but....... she's doing the clefting LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh Jaye, that would be so nice. I would volunteer to go there, if they had such a place!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Sue I remember when I got Tiga spayed, I had her home for one day and of course the cone thing doesn't work for a cat, so I took it off and an hour later she had pulled her stitches out, had a hole in the middle of her stomach, so into the vet we went and she got glued.

Judy that's looking good!!! LOL Rock of Ages!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

SUE! How come I didn't know this about Tim????? Where you been girl?

Places is looking great, Judy...getting all spiffed up for next years company??? ;o)

Been out admiring my brugmansias....just hope they open a bit more before frost takes them away. I have a couple "Serendipity" blooming (pink single) and tons of buds on the "New Orleans Lady" (double peach/orange??) and some buds on the "Adeline" (double pink)...one is turning pink now, but not really open and not a double...so maybe that comes when it's open...haven't had doubles before so not sure...

I spent the morning cutting down butterfly bushes..one is going to have to move from the bed with the Japanese maple in it, cause it's crowding the tree badly....so now just have to decide where it can go, cause it's a monster! Also started digging up the pots with the plumeria in them...another reason to trim BF bushes cause they were in the way....after I spray the plumeria for bugs a couple times I will take them to their winter home in the basement. They did so well this year. I think it was because I sunk the pots and they didn't keep falling over...Next year, I will do a better job of fertilizing them, cause they're heavy feeders and maybe I can have some really good blooms. I will probably have to move them up to bigger pots next year, and boy am I dreading that!

The kids from Florida are here for the week...did I tell you all that? Anyway, they're having a good time seeing old friends and eating foods that they've missed. They boys have grown so much and they brought their little 4 month old apple faced chi with them...so cute. We babysat the pup last night...the other grandma had the boys.

Saturday is the bonfire....back at it to "straighten" the yard!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Here is T-Bone....he's crying right now cause his Mom and Dad went to the Pumpkin Patch without him!

Good job on the yard Judy. ! rock it girlfriend.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Haiku? I thought that was a type of non-rhyming Japanese poetry.....

maybe i m spelling it wrong too ?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

dunno LOL

ok DH is still doing fine. Hasn't hit yet.
Heinan Island and Haiku is a part of the island , make sense ? :)
he is in Sanya (sp? ) southend of the island
i guess if you want to google Typhoon Megi it would show some stuff
hmmm i will go google it and give a link
he says to thank you all for your prayers and kind words. :)
off to google

ok here is a map ? or so i think i did the link right
its down near Vietnam as you can see . So its in the path of this typhoon Megi
http://www.destination360.com/asia/china/map

here is the info on the typhoon.
right under the green arrow is Heinan island.
don't know how much they may get but .... never know when a hurricane may shift over ? i m not a professional , please don't try this at home. *giggling*
ttp://hurricane.accuweather.com/blogs/news/story/40268/wrath-of-megi-now-set-for-chin.asp?partner=google_ppc

where it says DRY and the green arrow there is a little itsy bitsy island . That is where he is called Sanya.
ok i m a nervous wreck. gonna go eat some sugar and cheese. Not together LOL

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Sue - you're a nervous wreck, and you're gonna eat some sugar??????
Sugar HIGH, then get bound up with cheese....... ewwwwwwwwwwwwww

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Here's a joke for you, sistahs!!

My wife was hinting about what she wanted for our upcoming anniversary.
She said, "I want something shiny that goes from 0 to 150 in about 3 seconds."
I bought her a bathroom scale.
And then the fight started......

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Hello Ladies,

Joyce are you going to share pix of your Brugs??

It seems the Brugs that I have bloom are cuttings from Jaye. Mine is a dark yellow. Yesterday I was on my to bowling when I noticed this Brug in bloom. IT had one bud for a long time and it opened yesterday. It nows has about 5 more buds

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Then this morning as I was getting ready to leave for Doug's I saw this. Yep it is the same Brug. Is this a Versi Peach, Jaye?

Thumbnail by purpbutfly

Susan ROFLMAO LOLLLL i love it !!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL LOL LOL Susan!

Sweet Brugs! Mine are still blooming but not as much as when they first started.

LOL Sue, you got the link to work! Woo Hooo!! That's a HUGE hurricane, typhoon, excuse me...

Jaye we need your help with some pronunciations here! :) :) :) :)

Judy-NICE work girly!!

LK-he needs some newborn clothes-now with the set at Walmart (which are a little big on him) he has 4 newborn outfits, one of which is a halloween outfit.

THis pic cracks me up-we were trying to get one for his announcement.....this is his halloween outfit:)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Awe Stacey, looks like he does not want his picture taken! Poor little guy!
Goodness, guess you do need more clothes, cause he will go through those 4 outfits really quick!
Morning everyone! Coffee is on, come and get it!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Jonathan....baby, you're a sweetie! ^_^

Soon as I can figure out how to take some clear pictures with my camera, I'll try to get a picture of the brugs...I love how they open white and turn colors!

Beautiful brugs, ladies!

Lexington Park, MD

Susan that is so funny.
Love the brugs.
Typhoon need to look at that today.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I think that is half the fun, waiting for them to open, and wait for the true color, then the smell..... Oh my! Heavenly!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I know it. Here were mine on September 27th

Thumbnail by crissyr
Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

They were loaded and they're still blooming.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Crissy, those are so pretty!

crissy that is a lot of brugs . nice looking and so purrrrdy
Stacey that is such a precious shot of him. big AAAWWW wittle bitty guy. so cute.
well i m still working on apple sauce. this should be my last batch.
then its on to apple pie filling . i will only do 6 of them quarts. i don't eat that much pie LOL

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Stacey I just saw that pic, that's adorable!!! LOL!

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm apple pie mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Sue, I have the ice cream, just tell when the pie is ready! LOL

Tink, he is adorable but you really shouldn't be pinching him!!! LOL

Lexington Park, MD

crissy those are just beautiful. Wish I had planted some in my garden.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sue, if he's in Sanya..... darn, that's close. 6 hours ago, Megi is heading towards Hong Kong island.
Someone please hand Sue the Bailey's!

Cookie, is Cheyenne okay with T-bone? No jealousy? Lola's relieved when Reese left!
When it comes to doubles, the second one will always drop later.
NOL is an apricot color.

Cindy, I've lost all my brug pics when my pc crashed, so I can't do a comparison.
But if that turns a darker orange.. then it might be a Versi Orange. Versi Orange also can measure up to 12" long.
VP is a blend between peach and light pink.
VO and VP are two of the brugs that I had lost due to bad weather. I'm glad they're doing good with you.

Crissy.. aren't you the happy one now? Beautiful brugs. And like LK said, you'll be enjoying the heavenly scent!
Chinese pronounciation depends on the what regions you're from.
"Hainan"--my mum would pronounce it as 'highnahn'.
"Sanya"--'sahniah'

Stacey.. uncle Kel says there's nothing wrong with Jonathan going around the house.. sans clothes!!! Men!!!
That's too cute, Jonathan's already giving his fashion approval!! LOL!!

Hello Marion..how are you feeling? Think I'll sit in that corner as I feel like a scoop of good ole Blue Bell ice cream.

Waving to Laura!!!! So, you're into brugs too?

Since they return so late....brugs that are blooming for me right now, is Serendipity and I believe a Jean Pasko. There are buds on Wretched Mess which can drop to a quadruple sometimes.
I'll only overwinter 3 that are still in pots.
Since I lost so many.. I don't have the desire to expand or replace my brug collection. Moreover, they are truly divas, and for the past two years, I've been fighting with grasshoppers :(
Let me tell you how discouraged I am.... I've lost more than a dozen named brugs. Then my NOL and Adeline are about 1ft. tall :(
I've lost ALL of Alice's brugs... except for one... that's still in its' pot.
If you know Alice..ahh.. the costs.. such is vanity!
Nope. I don't want any more brugs. Just the ones that I can't do without!!
Like I've said.. will only stick to friendly plants.. like hedychiums and daylilies and Asiatic lilies.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Susan, keep us laughing please!! That'll chase these gloomy clouds above my head away!
