Quiet Friday... missing Stacey's daily account of Jonathan and her. Mama must be a great help to her.
And I guess some are getting the garden ready for winter rest while LK, must be still sleeping.
Susan, let's hope you get what's best for you. And I know you take into account the distance too.
Sue, you must have meant "Pho". Pad Tai is Thai noodles, while Vietnam is famous for the variety of "Pho" noodles!
You and Crissy are so lucky to have savored the many ethnic dishes in a cosmopolitan city. I truly miss my old home town for the same reason.
Did show up at the doctor's this morning.. no appt.. just hoping he could squeeze me in between patients.
Do have a sinus infection and am prescribed antibiotics.
I'll be sleeping this off!!
♥♥ Sweet Interruptions ♥♥ 201
Hey Jaye, not sleeping in, just busy sewing, I am almost done with the sewing part for all the swaps! Now I just need to go and get some big envelopes to get them mailed.
Glad to hear you went to the Dr. Allergies are so bad this year for everyone. Here it is ragweed!
Get some rest, and hope to see you posting soon!
Lol!! I see you in the other room, LK!!
Of course, no way you'll be wasting the day away unless someone needs you!
My you're fast!!
All I have left to do is the borders on the RWB. But I'm running out of white material.. wonder if a few sistahs wouldn't mind off white :D
Off white is fine here, even biege...
Thank you so much sistah!
Least I can do now is start washing that beige fabric!
Jaye, I don't care how far away the job is (I have a car, after all), as long as it's not downtown, and I can get some parking! Parking is very expensive in Calgary - I would want to get on-site company parking (they'll deduct from the paycheque), so I wouldn't have to "fight" with the parking meter, or run all over the place looking for change LOL
I work downtown and we have a valet parking garage that the State pays for. Woo Hoo!!
valet parking!! WOW
We barely have any room for parking downtown - it's at such a Premium. I know of people who have been caught in one of those "unlimited" parking lots, by mistake, and ended up paying $45 for the day......
Yea, we don't have much street parking but tons of garage parking. To park all day in the garage that goes with this building is $5.75, and they also get the valet service. There is two things bad about the valet, 1. you can't just go sit in your car; and 2. you have to wait for your car to be brought down to you when you want to leave, and if there's a line of people, like at 5pm, that could take awhile. Yesterday I waited 10 minutes for my car.
Yes Jaye i did mean that sorry LOL me and my spelling and my ethnic illiteracy My bad.! yikes.
Yes Crissy i miss that too. The ocean the most !! never thought i would miss the old shark infested, bacteria prone, murky waters. :) LOL
been busy today
got bad news on my building of the greenhouse. ain't gonna happen this weekend
the permit guy is on vacation !!!! why didn't they tell me that on tuesday when i went down there ???? and then he said he has to look at the drawing to make sure they are safe. ???? ummmmm i sent them to him weeks ago and he gave me the ok and i even have the little note he sent along with the paper work ! what the ! oh sorry i just don't get this stupidity ?
so we can't start to build until Oct 18 ! which means Oct.23 is our first available saturday.
so bummed
i know there is more things more important. i keep telling myself this and so i just say. *poopoo* LOl
hugs to you all
Crissy - a couple of years ago gravel lot parking with no "frills" (have a plug-in for the winter, but Nothing Else) cost $575/month. I hate to think what garages, or underground parking would cost, or what that gravel lot would cost 2 years later....
If you are talking about the rows Jaye....off white very fine by me...
Me too.....I don't mind off white.
Sue - It sounds like you've been put "on hold" for your greenhouse - what a disappointment!
I know you're looking forward to it...
Afternoon y'all.
Sue, it must be killin you not to be able to carry on with your plans. But then, it's God's way of saying.. have some fun with the kids instead!
Valet parking at work..that's a bonus.
At my old place of work, management get assigned parking spots in an open lot. Only complains, no shelter from the weather.
I am having stomach issues reacting to the antibiotics. Stayed up all night, with no relief.
Guess all the bacteria got to go somewhere.
Supposed to attend the pastor's 30th wedding anniversary this afternoon.
Pastor and wife are renewing their vows. Can't make it there in this condition.
Have a blessed Saturday everyon.
Sorry-have been a bit busy and really not a whole lot going on. We took Jonathan to the Drs yesterday for his 1st pediatrician appt. The Dr was very nice and everything went good. I laughed a little as I asked him how we knew when to suck boogies out of his nose and how often-such a new parent ??;) He gained another 2.5oz after coming home on Wed so he is at 7lbs, 1.5oz as of yesterday. We also asked to make sure the formula we are supplementing his feeds with is OK since he hadn't pooped since 6pm on Wed. We got a green light and he said to start feeding him a little more every few days. We took him to my work B4 the appt (I wanted to get my grandma a brag book too) and let some of the girls see him. We weren't there for very long since no one seemed all that interested.....oh well, I always said it wasn't the greatest place to work. For his first outing it was relatively successful. We had issues with him sleeping in his crib in his room. It wasn't light enough, so we bought a lamp...it was too quiet, so we turn the TV on the weather channel and set it to sleep for 15mins after his night feedings....his crib was too big, so we have him sleeping in his bouncy for right now....hoping to slowly ween him from these things instead of just drastically changing them over night. My mom has been having a blast with the baby. She talks to him, feeds him some times and even changes diapers!!LOL She does really love being here and has started to remember she has a camera sitting next to her:)
Stacey - y'know what? It really doesn't matter what those from work think. Lucky them, though - they had a chance to see him IRL, and hold him if they chose....... siiiiiigh
Stacey, have you tried to "snuggle wrap" him before you put him in the crib??? my boys all liked to be "hugged tight" slept much better that way,
we rolled a quilt into a long tube, to put next to my grand daughter, she slept longer every time it was included... guess it felt like someone snuggling next to her??!!!
Oh goodness!!!
That's a good suggestion Thunder.
Doug and I rode up to Auburn for Taylor's soccer game. Taylor loves to play and she is good. Kicked a goal today YAY!!! Her team won 6-1 WOO HOO!!!!!
WOO HOO!!
Good for her ^_^
Did you get a pic of that goal kick, Cindy? Bet you all had pizza for celebrations!
Well, I baked 10 pounds of smoked sausage in a special bbq sauce for church's homecoming tomorrow.
Don't think I'll be attending, still not up to par, but Kel will bring that there.
Sue, that's a very good suggestion. I'll do a rice porridge with some shredded chicken (from boiled chicken thighs) and lots of ginger. Will be a very nourishing meal.
Aren't you glad that having a microwave means easy meals for the kids too? Bet your DH can tell you stories of how lucky us Western women are.
Susan, hope you have a good day at church tomorrow.
Have a good night everyone..
Good Night, Jaye - please take care of yourself.
You likely wore yourself out cooking for the homecoming....... you deserve the rest tomorrow!
Good night all you dear sistahs!!

Sorry I've been missing....I went to a camping thingy with my girlfriend. We left on Friday and stayed at a Comfort Inn next to an Amish Restaurant...close to Bellville...anyway, the plan had been to get up in the morning and go to the campground. We found out that they were having a craft show (Prairie Peddler) nearby (they had been twice in the last two years, but they usually go on the first weekend and didn't realize it was a two weekend event). So we went there first...oh my gosh it was so fun! The whole thing is in the woods and they have these little lean-tos built for the vendors. Neatest thing I've been to in a while. I'm thinking it would be a fun girls day...PLUS I saw on a sign when we were leaving that it was like 3 miles to Wade and Gatton (think that's right) nursery, and I'm pretty sure that's the one that specializes in hostas. Man...wish we hadn't been there for that campout thing!
Anyway, the campout thingy was a turkey dinner with the 5 turkeys being cooked on spits over an open fire. It was delicious...turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, fresh made applesauce (also done over the open fire)..which I helped in doing the apples for, and then all the carry-in dishes from all the campers. yum..... All in all, a really fun time. Didn't get home until almost 10:00 last night.
So now I'm headed out to the garden...my hydrangeas are drooping. So they want me to water them....
I saw some really cool birdbaths made with portland cement and sand. They used different leaves and then painted them...they had them on stands....most were around $50, but some as high as $80. So...think I might try my hand at one...not sure what I'll use as a base, but something will come to me!
Hope you're feeling better Jaye....have a wonderful Sunday, Ladies!
Welcome back, Cookie!
5 turkeys on spits? Wow - what a picture that draws in my mind! Glad you enjoyed it.
I would love to have seen the turkey dinner as it was being prepared. It must have taken a great deal of teamwork to get it all done...
Jaye...that doesn't work....
Better try again Jaye, that one does not work!
