Sorry I've been missing. It's been busy around here trying to get the pond ready for winter.
I'm ready for walking in the "Walk for a Cure" tomorrow. Thanks for posting the link above, Jaye and thank you so much for your donation as well as yours, too Crissy. Every little bit helps. I have $25 dollars in cash to take tomorrow as well as what comes online. So I'm over $50 now. I just don't have the contacts that I used to have!
It's been in the 50's here so tomorrow will be okay for walking. Usually start out in a sweatshirt and end up in a t-shirt. Maybe it will be sweatshirt the whole time tomorrow! It's only a 5k walk, so not too bad.
I had to pull the tropical lilies out of the pond. I'm going to try to overwinter them. The one I overwintered last year is just now throwing up it's first bud...and now I have to take it out of the water...sigh...well, hopefully, next year it will get going sooner!
I've tried to read all I've missed...sounds like there are still some ups and downs with Jonathan...hope he's better today. Each day I'm sure he gets stronger and stronger.
So sorry to hear about Marion's mom...gosh, I sure know what she's going through, cause my mom is still have all that trouble, too. She can't get in for her tests until the 25th of this month. She's marking it off on the calendar everyday....poor thing. I'm praying for Marion, Sue and of course their Mom...
Phyllis, bummer on the trees....maybe it will open up some new planting areas for you. Know how heartbroken you are about all that has been lost though.....
Waving hello to all my other sistahs!
♥♥ Sweet Interruptions ♥♥ 201
Hiya Sistahs!
OMG, T a d a h, doing a happy dance today! Finished my quilt top and I got to say thank you LK, Jaye and Stacey for your encouragement!!
Big happy smiles over here, found a cool Back piece, not exactly what I was hoping for,but will work nicely...
yaya, Linda Kay received my kit, the other day...woohoo, pretty pieces!
Here's my quilt top, but now, while the back piece is in the wash, trying to decide how to finish it, Thinking just to do the tie method, with different color threads! The back is very dark blue with all the primary colored dots.
Here is a close up of the second Curious George.
...Oh Jaye, to answer your question...The first CG, was hand appliques and partially embroidered.
This was was all done with machine., lol talk about need some patience.
But this one is my favorite, he was the first I chose specificly for this blanket.
Love it, Babe.....wish he were coming to my house!
Judy, that quilt is adorable! You have done an excellent job!
Afternoon everyone!
I just found out I am going to be a Grandma again! My youngest one called about an hour ago, while I was at Wal mart, and told me the news! His girlfriend is due mid june, and that is my Birthday! Today is his Birthday. what a nice gift for him!
Fantastic, LK!! Happy Grandma's Day!! ^_^
and happy birthday to your son!
Gearing up for the walk! Today is our 30th anniversary. Bill will be working on my car (he's replacing the bearings in one of the wheels) so Bertie is walking with me. Last year, I think Jordyn's team had the most people walking. Course, that doesn't mean they all gave money, just that they were there for moral support!
Anyway, thanks again to all who donated. The online JDRF continues to accept donations after the walk in case anyone else is interested in donating to this good cause...and it's tax deductible!
Joyce-hope you have a good walk today!!

Yesterday Jonathan was up to 6lbs, 9.25oz!! He did well on his noon feeding and his 3pm feeding. For his 6pm feeding he took all of the bottle, but did have an alarm that went off twice. For his 9pm feeding he woke up at 9 (the nurse was finishing a feed for another baby) and started crying because he was hungry!! Yeah!! The nurse said she started laughing because he is normally so quiet and that he fed really well. She said that is a good sign-having to work to wake him up wasn't a good thing, so him waking up hungry is great! He will get an echo-cardiogram today-the Dr thought he heard a heart murmur. We will see since this is the first time they have thought they heard anything. I watched the take home video yesterday-the one Dr from the NICU starred in it and I was cracking up-he got all red and kinda sped through the part about the circumcision-especially when using the correct term for a specific part of the anatomy (you all know what I am talking about)-it was making me laugh!!LOL So now that is done and he just has to do the car seat test and get his pics when it is time to come home.
I forgot to tell you that on Thursday when I was changing his last diaper I almost got peed on-had to use the the diaper to clean up a few drops and cover him up;) Then when Chris went to visit and changed his diaper, the same thing happened to him-LOL
Good morning.. happy Saturday!
Happy Anniversary Cookie and Bill. May you celebrate 50 more years together!
Cookie, I hope it will be a beautiful day today for your walk. Glad to know that Bertie will be accompanying you.
Already time to overwinter the beautiful lilies? That's right, your winter comes sooner and we here are having 80 degrees weather still.
Congratulations, Judy. That's an adorable CG quilt. Those squares are well pieced and I love the way you frame the center panel with 2 different colors!
So now you already have some practice on machine embroidery and soon you'll be stoked to do more!
Nice touch with the ball in the corner.
Good job Sistah!
Oooh another congratulations in order here.
Congratulations, LK!!!! Ooooweeeeee.......bet you are already planning a baby quilt and anything sewable!!
And congratulations, Jonathan for marking your Mama and Papa and apparently your aim's right on target!!!
Stacey, that's good that Jonathan has a healthy set of lungs and he sure knows how to communicate!! ROFL!!
Cry, scream Jonathan for your food!! Tell them you want to be fed asap and make those nurses move!!
Morning everyone!
She is only 3 weeks, so don't know if it is pink or blue yet!
Congratulations, Cookie & Bill, on your 30th Wedding Anniversary!!-
Happy Anniversary Cookie and Bill!!!!
Sue I agree that your working too hard!
The conference was good, glad it's over and just think, I have another one triple that size in 2 weeks to work at!
Cindy look how happy you two are! I am so happy for you and glad your cousin is going to be ok, my goodness!
Stacey I'm glad he's gaining weight and has now found his voice! He is getting better and stronger, just need to grow out of those alarms, which won't take long.
I wasn't fed with breast milk either.
Well I'm gonna go start breakfast.
Stacey Help!!! When I click on the share in picasa it takes me to a place to send email.
Still having problems with internet connection. It appears that I have 6 virus :( Did a complete scan and virus clean but still taking a long time to connect. As soon as Stacey helps me here I will post the link to Street Vibrations.
Oh forgot to mention this...............................................
I think I need to rent a room in the ER, lol. Mom was at PT yesterday and I got a call. She was not feeling to good. Took her to the ER only to find out that her blood sugar was low. She is hypogloxemia (sp) and had eaten 2 ice cream bars and some white chocolate cover pretzels the night before. Did not eat a good breakfast and then went to PT. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllll, it scared her really good this time. In the ER they gave her lunch and I told her "You better enjoy and savor every bite, because that just cost you $100. When ever she goes to the ER and they don't admit her she has a co-pay 0f $100. This has happened about 4 times now. I really chewed to butt out and told her to get her chart out that the doc gave her some 20 years ago for this condition and start eating like she is supposed to. Well it worked!!!! When she first had to go on this special diet she started gaining weight so she quit. Well, she is down to 108 and nothing but skin and bones. So maybe by getting back on this diet will help to put some weight on.
For one that's not fed breast milk, Crissy.... you sure are NORMAL!!!!
Cindy, unfortunately the new viruses are hard to eradicate. They spawn themselves!!!
Just the other day.. the Google search engine came on with "Big Mature Breasts" in its' box with all the indecent pics under it.
I checked "history" just to make sure that Kel's not going mental on me.. and nothing.
Ran the anti virus program, and there were no signs of infection :(
Now I'm so scared to download anything!!!
Stacey good to hear Jonathon is doing well.
Jaye yes i m busy but am managing

Happy Anniversary Cookie and Bill!!!! Hope you have many more years together!
Yesterday was the JDRF Walk for a Cure at Five Rivers Metropark in Dayton. Bertie went with me this year. It's a 5k walk and Jordyn had over 120 people walking for her. They bought yellow t-shirts for all the walkers. (My DD and her DH did, I mean) I'd say she had the most walking for her. Too bad that all that walked didn't raise money...that would have been awesome. I raised $115 (thanks to some of you sistahs and Jordyn says Thank you, too!) so that qualifies for a free walk t-shirt. I always give my shirt to Jordyn. Anyway, it was really nice for walking, weather wise. Sunny and cool. We got a little bit of rain yesterday afternoon. Glad it didn't rain for the walk. It rained gently for quite a while. Haven't been out to check the gauge.
Thanks for the anniversary wishes. I fixed steak, teriyaki rice and salad for dinner. Even splurged and got a pumpkin creme cake. Yum...anyway, it was a nice quiet celebration. Think we're going to breakfast today. We haven't been out for breakfast in months! We would have gone yesterday, but the walk made that impossible.
Bill fixed my car. He had to replace the bearings and it's so nice to have my car back without it growling at me any more!
Have a blessed Sunday all!
Joyce-so glad your anv was better than mine:)
Sue-will you actually rest this winter at all so you can recouperate from all the work you've been doing??
CINDY-don't fret-I am here;) On the R hand side it says "link to this album"-click that and then highlight the contents of the box "paste link in email or IM", just make sure you get the whole thing so that the last word of the link is 'directlink' Hopefully that helps you out:)

Jonathan did really good yesterday!! Called the nurse in the am to see hos he did the rest of the day on Fri and and early Sat am-he took 100% of all his feeds by bottle and scored 3 (the highest score, they go 1-3) on 5 of the feeds and 2 on 3 of them. The 2's were because 2X he took over 20 mins to feed, 25 for 1 and 30 for the other, and the 3rd 2 was because he had 2 alarms as he fed. Him having a couple of feeds that take too long will not keep him from coming home-alarms will though. He gained another oz, so he is now at 6lbs, 10.5oz. He took all of both of his feeds I did in under 15mins and no alarms, so we had success. For the 2nd feed I gave him 1/2 his bottle B4 his bath and the other 1/2 afterwards. He was not happy about the bath, but not as bad as last time. I took in our tub that Judy and LK got us and put the little hammock thing in it for newborns. I must not have had it tight enough because he kept sliding down until his head was almost at the place where his butt was supposed to be;)LOL I got some moisturizing baby wash because the hospital is dry and his skin has been dry. It was oatmeal and vanilla. I went to squeeze some on the cloth and realized it had a seal. There wasn't a little tab to get it off, so I used my teeth to get it off and got some in my mouth-YUCK-took me about 4 hrs to get the taste out and didn't have time to do much about it when it happened since he was so unhappy. The nurse took a pic of him in the tub (with me in it-not flattering) and then I took a pic of just the nekked baby and as soon as I snapped the pic he started peeing!!LOL He must have shot it about 2' and got his towel, his outift, the counter and the top of a cart that had drawers in it-we started cracking up. He didn't get himself though, so I just rinsed his winkie and got him out of the tub onto a clean towel. It is always kinda chilly in the rooms there so he was shivering by the time I got his diaper on, got lotion all over him and got him dressed-poor Little Buddy:( I fed him the rest of his bottle and got a huge burp out of him and when I went to reposition him, he spit up and it happened to be aimed just right so it went down my shirt, between my boobs and pooled in the middle part of my bra!!LOL I swear-what aim he has with his bodily functions!!LOL We put him back in his crib after that, covered him with a couple extra blankets and put a hat on his little head to try and get him warmed back up and back to sleep. As long as he keeps up his feeds, the only thing we have to worry about are the alarms B4 he can come home. My mom is coming on Wed and Chris put in for his weeks vacation that starts on Wed as well...so we are really hoping he can come home by this next Fri at the latest....if you pray, please do so and if not, please cross your fingers...
I posted a pic of he and I in his bath, but figured the nekked baby photo might not be appropriate, but if you want to see the most recent pics, I uploaded them into Picassa:

Copied and Pasted:
Yesterday for the most part was uneventful. Jonathan gained another 1.5 oz and is at 6lbs, 12oz-so almost at 7lbs already!! OMG he is growing sooooo fast!!! Pretty soon he will actually fit in his clothes;) He ate well for us on both feeds-under 15mins and no alarms. We tried to do the kangaroo care (where you hold them in just his diaper against your bare chest), and he didn't like it with me (I think w/o a bra my "lumps" were not in the right place to him;), but settled down and slept on Chris. We tried it to start with hoping that the closeness might help my milk production. He didn't have any alarms when we left about 3 yesterday since 6pm on Fri, so that is good. He did score low on 2 of his feeds early Sun am (midnight and 3am) and only got a 1-2. He can't have anything below a 2 and needs mostly 3's to come home. I did ask the nurse to do the car seat test to make sure that was all good-he has to sit in it for 2hrs w/o any alarms and I didn't want to wait to do it til he was ready to come home and then have the alarms go off and have that keep him there-if they went off while he was in it, then at least we still have time to try again in a couple days. He will be getting his pics today as well:) The nurse I had on Thurs/Fri told me that they have an in house therapist that offers baby massage as a service from the hospital. She told me to think about it, so I also asked the nurse if she could see if that lady had any open time to teach me B4 he goes home. It is supposed to be very relaxing for them and can help them go to sleep if they are fussy. If everything goes as it is now, hopefully by the end of the week. He will be 37 weeks gestational age on Thurs and 4 weeks old on Friday.
Oh Stacey...sounds so good...when I think of how badly things "might" have gone, it scares me to death! I'm so happy for your new little family.
Yep, Sues....we owe you a visit! Seems like we've been so busy! Maybe things will slow down a bit now. You still up for horseback riding?
Morning everyone! Looks like everyone was busy over the week-end?
Nice and cool here this morning, only 60 degrees, and the skeeters are not bad either. I have all the flowers watered, and am about to go to the sewing room!
Where's Jaye?
Wanted her to see what I posted about my brugs on Best/Worst, so I copied....
I'm really worried....my Adeline brug has bloomed, but my doubles, Serendipity and New Orleans Lady have buds but haven't bloomed yet....we are getting in the mid 40's at night now and I'm afraid I'm not going to see them bloom this year. :o( They aren't calling for frost yet, so I'm still hopeful. When they start talking about frost I'll be taking cuttings to bring inside. They're just too huge to try to bring the whole thing in, so if anyone wants cuttings for postage, let me know. I have a NOID yellow, single one as well. I'll take the cuttings after the "Y", so they should do well for whomever would like to root them.
That is normal for them not to bloom. I have so many that have not bloomed in 3 years! Take your cuttings, and get them rooted, and hopefully they will bloom next year!
I leave mine out till the last minute in hopes of one more bloom!
I love that one picture of you standing next to that huge brug with the pretty blooms. If mine look that pretty, I'll have to get Bill to take a picture of me with mine!
well, I have an interview this am, and will let you know how it went, in the aft.
Lots of luck Susan! Let us know how it goes!
Hello everyone! Cindy ask me to post for her and say hello to everyone! She is having problems with her ISP, and slow connection. She will get online when she can.
I'm finally here!!!
I want to thank Stacey for making us part of her daily routine with Jonathan. You know you don't have to... but somehow you know that we love reading what's going on with our precious great nephew.
ALL pictures of Jonathan in yours and Chris' arms are just priceless.
Cookie, I have some brugs into their third flush and I have some that are just budding while there are a few that haven't Y'd.
Your Adeline is supposed to be a double while Serendipity is a single, sis. I love Serendipity as it's truly hardy with the heat here.
Think I'll just not expand further with brugs as they are truly diva and you know my triples didn't return due to the bad weather and their cuttings went mushy on me :((
Good luck Susan!!!!!
Thanks LK for the news on Cindy. I know how it is to be victim of ISP!!
A delay this morning in reporting as we had to get a new keyboard.
Papa Kel left his drink on the pc table, and one of the cats knocked his glass onto the keyboard.
Got one at WM for 12 bucks!!! They are getting real cheap!
Hey Jaye, nice to see you posting! Tell Kel to put h is drink in a koozie, they don't spill as easy thay way!
How are you feeling? Is it getting cool over your way? I know it showed lots of rain for the coastal states, sure hope your not too wet from all of the rain?
Sistah, what's a 'koozie"?
Sinus hits me pretty bad today, but that's not new!! The rains have stopped a few days ago. The plants got more than enough soaking that I don't have to water till Wednesday.. unless it rain.
In the low 70's at night, and FIL has the heater on.
I love this kind of weather.
I just got back from my interview - it went very well. She's only interviewing 4 people and will know, by the latest, Oct 12th who she will be hiring.
Also - a shocker for me: The woman who took over my position has left the company!! She quit 2 weeks into taking over, and she's been gone for a week now. She moved down east (Ontario) to be with her family and grandkids.....!! This was a surprise for them, too......
I know they couldn't offer the position back to me because I took the 6 week's severance they offered, but now that time span is over, so I'm going to see if I can get the position back........ I've emailed the vice president of HR (she's out of town, but will see her email....) to find out what she sees as the situation, and what MY options are.
I'll let you know what happens, one way or the other.
I think she may have meant cozy.... as in "comfy cozy"
LOL I love koozie's! It's funny, everyone knows what they are but hardly anyone knows what they're called.
LOLOL!!!
I know those things LK. I used them for my Milwaukees eons ago!! Didn't know that's what they're called!
Thank God you went for that interview.. if not you'll never know.
