♥♥ Sweet Interruptions ♥♥ 201

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Great, Cindy!! I was pretty sure you were set, but I Never Assume Anything LOL

We had a simple one - Bob's mom, and my mom, best man and my son as ushers; matron of honour and my daughter. Of course my family came (not a large one - 3 sisters, their husbands and kids - my brother walked me down the aisle). I made the wedding cake (and groom's cake), and the flowers, plus the decorations and the invitations. Two friends took pictures. We didn't go anywhere on a honeymoon. I even made my bridal coat (over a regular dress) and my veil with flowered headband. IF we spent $300 I'd be surprised. Most of it went to pay for the minister and the rental car.
We had a friend transfer the video (which my sister took, with her video camera) to a DVD just recently.

We had our 10th year renewal of vows two years ago, and it was even simpler, if that was possible LOL
Actually, I should re-iterate. We had a piper both times, and Bob got dressed in full celtic style ^_^
Here's our original wedding.

CINDY-CONGRATS!!!!

Susan-the toys R us left the living room a couple weeks ago when we got it all into his room and put away:) Sorry;)

Thanks Everyone!! So far things have been going OK. He has been eating and sleeping well and has been getting loved on as much as we want;) He is fascinated by Ruby our pug-I think as much by the hairy creature walking around as the snuffling sound she makes;) Neither of the animals are all that excited about him. Of course Ruby has to try to get in between us and the baby as much as possible and wants to sniff everywhere he's been, but she really doesn't want much to do with him directly. Jade the cat is a little skittish around him when he moves or makes a sound-she is a fraidy cat. My mom made it safely and of course fell in love with her grandson at first site. She fed him and he slept on her spending cuddle time-it was too cute!! Chris doesn't work at making him eat his last little 5ml or so of food, so he woke up early last night and needed an extra small feeding. Chris took the midnight and 3am feed (which ended up being a 12, 1:30, and 2:30 feed) and then I got up at 5:30, thinking he would feed at 6, but he was ready to eat B4 I even had his bottle warmed....so tomorrow I will get up a little earlier....

Stacey - he is just gorgeous. This next month will be such a learning experience for you as you learn about him and his wants and he learns what he can get away with. Heehee. Yes, even this little he will be trying.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Oh Barb-at this point I am just so happy for him to be home that I don't care if he tries to pull a couple stunts;)LOL

here is a pic of his first feeding at home:)

Stacey, you say that now, but be careful! They learn at a very early age, what they can and cannot get away with!
He is so precious, and looks so comfy in momma's arms! Glad to hear your Mom got there OK!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

The old saying does hold true that "discipline begins in the cradle". I'm not talking about spanking etc, I'm talking about establishing a routine.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Oh, we do have a routine-keeping the one from the hospital, but not quite as stringent. If we go to feed him at the 3hr mark and he is still sleeping, we don't wake him up and the same goes if he wakes up a half hr early-he gets fed then. I am not going to have him crying because he is hungry or has a dirty diaper. So, he isn't being spoiled, but we are allowing him to lead us with his needs....last night Chris just went up and sat in his room because he was crying out-didn't have a dirty diaper and wasn't hungry, just wanted some company for a little bit...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Awe, such a great Daddy!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Morning Ladies,
Thanks for the congrats. I'm here at Doug's. He missed me so much that he couldn't stop kissing me. And it felt so good to be in his arms. We will be spending the next few days getting this house ready for me to move in.

Aw, Stacey so glad everything is going good for you. Will you be going to Judy's next August? Would love to meet you and your adorable little man.

Hope Jaye is feeling better today. Below are two links, the first one is the dress I want, the other is where we are getting married. We are doing the Wedding and Honeymoon package

Cindy I remember that, we almost got married there but we had too many people, so me and my Maid of Honor, Cheryl (you would love her, she's a biker too) went up and found Caesars. I'm going to find the link...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cindy, that dress is beautiful! Love the room you have picked out too! Very nice!
I am so happy for you two!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Ok, here we go. Caesars is now called Montbleu and they have completely redone the chapel. Caesars was bought out by Montbleu 2 weeks before our wedding but they were going to finish the weddings they already had scheduled under the Caesar's Palace name, stop doing them for a few weeks to remodel the chapel, hotel, and casino, then reopen under the new name. I have tons of pictures of what it looked like previously on my computer at home. Here's the link anyway, even though it's not the same at all.

You're on the right side of the coast, but geeze - you're still 21 hours drive...... siiiiiiiiigh
I would love to see you in that dress. It's so pretty, and lovely.... and...... words can't express how I'm feeling right now - you're so lucky to have found the "man of your dreams"

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Ok now, I still couldn't figure out how to post the correct link to veiw my pix from Street Vibs so this is the best I could do.

That doesn't work, Cindy....
This is what it says:

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Well shoot!!! Don't know how else to paste the link. Stacey told me how but I could n find where it said to link it.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Cindy go to your thumbnails page, highlight the address in the address bar, the Right Click. A menu will come up, select Copy. Come back here to start another post like normal, Right Click again, select Paste.

Unless you have your pics set to private that should work. If you have your pics set to private switch it to Public.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

THAT WORKS!! Thanks, Cindy, for trying again.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

WOW! That's a LOT of bikes!!!! Looks like you had a ball!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Hi Cookie,
I have been reading about the things you are doing. Wished I could donate to your granddaughter's fund. As for the gifts that I bring "YOU" all to Sistah Judy's will be mailed, if Judy wouldn't mind?? Do ya Judy. They may be candles and then maybe not, lol. Doug and I were just talking about making some garden art out of old parts to different machines and things. I am also trying to get back into making beaded jewlery. How many of you like beaded jewerly?

How's Marion and family?? Haven't been able to go back and read.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cindy, love the view of the trees, lake and mountains! SO pretty! Love all the bikers and bikers too! Looks like you had a great time!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

I took those pix just for Crissy, lol. Then when we stopped at the last rest stop before heading into Mt. Rose, we fell in love with that veiw. That is what made me pick South Lake Tahoe to get married.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hi ladies.
Got my flu shot this morning, and return with a severe headache.
You all don't want to know how I'm doing... too depressing :D But appetite's returning...so that should be a good sign right?

Sorry if I exclude anyone. Not absorbing all that's posted here.

Susan, you make a beautiful bride. Were haggis served at the wedding?
Bet that piper played something other than Danny Boy?
Bob certainly look so smart in his kilt.

Now who wouldn't fall in love with Jonathan at first sight??? Especially his grandma, Stacey? We all here are coo-cooing over him and we haven't met him physically, yet! In a few weeks' time, I bet, Ruby will grow overly protective of him.
You and Chris are certainly doing a good job.

Cindy.. what is this I'm reading you're getting married? Lolol.. well I'll be...
When you were first dating Doug, didn't I warn you that it looks wedding bells are around the corner? And who's the one that says.. nope.. it will be in 3 years' before you say "I do"? So, as far as I know we're all using the same calendar and since when did the clock move?
Congrats sistah. I'm very happy for you, and it seems that we'll have our first SI wedding shower!

Thank your for asking about Marion. I haven't called her yet, as my voice is not at 100% and being she hasn't called me yet, I presume she must be tired when she got home. I'll try to call her tomorrow evening.

Cookie, Cookie, Cookie...
Read this sistahs. If you haven't tasted Cookie's caramels, you haven't tasted the best!!
You should see Kel last night, Cookie. He was constantly digging into his personal bag!!
And that's some awesome peanut brittle! I love it!! Since Kel hogs the caramels, the brittles all mine.
How do you make it so light and airy? I have had others, and they all are too dense and stick to your teeth. But not yours, sistah.
Normally, I need 60 units before a meal, but I gave myself 75 for those brittles last night. They were AWESOME!
And thanks for making me do my own shots!

LK, my sister had sent me some herbal 'inhalers'. It comes in a pouch, pour into hot water, and inhale the steam. I ended up coughing more than normal :( So.. I guess I may have to make an appt. with the doctor if my lungs have some infection.

Gonna microwave some shrimp/pork egg rolls and then head for bed to get rid of this nasty headache. Oh well....sewing will have to wait.. again.
Oh.. as for my legs.. the swelling went down some.

Anyway...if anyone else wants candy.....you know where to find me!! LOL!

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Congraduations Cindy & Doug!! I love your dress and you are going to look beautiful in it. Aren't we all lucky to have met Doug from the very beginning and watched your friendship turn into love.

I better stay turned to this site more often, don't want to miss anything.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Hmmm that reminds me, we have Joyce's recipe ^_^. Know how we can make some extra moey forhoneymoon, lol.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Guess what? it looks like I'm going to be busy going for interviews next week!
I may have told you about the one I went to last Monday (haven't heard yet, but they don't expect to let anyone know until the 12th).
I got a call yesterday to go for an interview on Oct 12th at 3pm, and just now got a call to go for an interview on Oct 13th at 8:30 am.

All 3 are with Alberta Health Services - good pay and benefits!! (actually the one from Monday may not be good benefits - it's permanent casual, and I don't think I would get benefits...... dunno until I would be offered the position!).

Yesterday and today I was working on banners for the church (they're finished). I have a small triple banner to do now "Angels" "Dwell" "Here" put in the basement, where we meet for coffee after service.

HELLOOOOO LADIES AND BRAWDAH
congrats on the wedding bells and what a pretty dress !
Jaye sending healthy T&P to you.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1132209/

New swap open for Christmas... Come and join the fun!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Sue I don't miss the prices, or the politics, or all of the tons and tons of people everywhere! LOL I wish I could get as much done in a day that you do, I'm famished just thinking about doing all that.

Yay Susan!! Your bound to get something, now if you get one job before you've interviewed for another will you wait until the interview to see what's up or would you take it immediately?

((((((((((((((((TUBBY))))))))))))))))))

Susan i m sending T&P for you and your interviews. hope you get the one you want
crissy i agaree way to many people , oh but the foooooood is wonderful all the great ethnic stuff all around and at every corner.
i sure miss that. :( the san fran china town, the little taco shops that look like crack houses but have the best #$%%$ Tacos !
oh the Phai Tai noodle houses oh i m salavating
watching Beauty and the Beast tonight
got to run
good night friends and sleep well

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I don't know which I'd do, Crissy. I'd given some thought to the fact that the one interviewed for is a "Casual" position, and the 3rd one to interview for (on Wed the 13th) is the best, and pays the most............ The 2nd one is what I'm used to doing - same pay, and full-time permanent.
I guess I'll just have to see what the Lord has in store..... I Could put the 1st one off for a couple of days (I'd have to be honest with them about what was happening.....).

I won't "borrow trouble" by worrying - it will be what it will be......

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thanks Sue, for your T&P - much appreciated ^_^

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Sue I really miss the Vietnamese Soup Kitchens, and taking trips to SF and the Sierra Nevada's up on the summit of any state highway where you can park at 10,000 feet and see the tree line, just awesome. I don't miss the smog in the San Joaquin Valley either.

That's a good way to look at it, I'd be all excited and stressed out. LOL
