Is so...the sky is so dark and heavy here, feel like I could go outside and touch the black clouds..it's been so quiet here these past 2 weeks, with Paul opening new offices and Suzanne catching up on old files it leaves me to sit and do nothing..wood be a good time to be home.
Best/Worse/What did I learn/chat about our day!
Wish we were closer, I could bring you coffee and pastry!
That would be lovely, bit on a downer this morning..
I had contacted someone with regards to the camper I wanted that had one a few years old, 1/2 the price, actually few hundred more than I have to put towards it, he might even go lower in price BUT, big word, 3 hr. drive to London..would have to put a hitch on my vehicle incase I would purchase it so not sure it's worth the effort
Betty, you could make it a shopping, tourist day! You would have fun!
((((((((((Betty))))))))))) sorry to hear about your loss, of George. I'm sure he's watching his "harem" lol That is a lovely piece, the milkcan that is....... I can just see it sitting in front of an old country store, where they have cracker barrels. What would they put in it, in such a store? Tall wildflowers? Something that wouldn't detract from the beauty of the piece. Maybe sunflowers?
yes, Betty - your friends are right - life's too short to wait for what you truly want. My mother always said "Accept graciously", rather than to argue about a gift of $$, time, or love.
♫♪~§usan~♪♫
He is adorable Stacey, sounds like you're both extremely happy about how your lives have changed, that's so awesome!
Yes Susan!!! That's awesome!! Maybe they'll call you next week!!
Shoot Betty, if we decided to meet him somewhere he would never show up, so we had to be there to say, "come on... hurry up... come on... let's go...." Most of the time he wasn't even home from doing whatever he was doing until we were already late.
Betty is your little car's engine strong enough to pull it?
Betty I am so sorry to hear about George, (((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))
Crissy, this particular camper is only 280 lbs. and it's mean to be towed behind a motorcycle, limits what you can buy..not a problem my towing it as it's less than 20 lbs. on the actual hitch..5 or 6 manufacturers of motorcycle/small vehicle campers and mostly are located in USA, other in Vancouver B.C. Canada..this particular model takes about 10 minutes to set up versus about 3 for another make but the sitting area is off the ground..owner said that once you get on to it it's no more than a 5 minute job..interesting..
Paul said last week was our 1st week back to regular 3pm Fridays, I have enough $$$ of my own to purchase it at 1/2 price..seller says he has 2 and his wife wants to keep the larger one they have..says he also sells these campers at full price..
Said it's in excellent shape, but think they all say that...lol

Just knew this was coming, on MSN with Sharon...
Sharon says:
hi... did you make other plans for the weekend? I think she's going to go now
Has to tell her I have made plans and it will have to be late October now before I go..drats...lol
Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh for you, re: Sharon, Betty!! "hi... did you make other plans for the weekend?" siiiiiiiiiiiiiigh yes, you have another LIFE, Betty!!
As for the camper, Betty - any way you can go there and set it up yourself to see? You'd also see if there was any damage, etc. It's possible they just want to use the larger one, and sell the smaller one as excess...... If it's 1/2 price, that's a good deal, for a camper in good condition. Of course it's used, so no warranty etc, but that's obvious when you buy a "previously enjoyed" item.....
LOL Sharon is still on MSN and gabbing with mom Susan..yes, because I'm on my own they think I've nothing to do and yet I'm busier than all of them put together..
I just called to find out about a hitch..by the time you purchase the wiring, the hitch, the installation and the ball you are talking almost $500.00 with tax.
All to confusing, could take a run and look at it I guess, not at the other end of the world..might just leave at 3 on Friday and if I like it I'll put a deposit on it, if not what I want then it's only a tank of gas I've wasted.
That's so true, Betty, plus you'll have a ride through some lovely countryside. Ya only live ONCE, y'know.... take a pic-a-nic lunch lol
right, picnic on the major 401 series..lol..that ought to get me picked up..a thought just came to me, Lenny, Suzanne's husband is a truck driver and for some reason I think he travels the 401 highway to London..maybe I could have him go and check it out and if ok he could leave a deposit then I'd pick it up..so many variables, can't you see I'm a little mixed up today? lol
I'm not surprised, Betty - such a lot on your mind right now!
When the right answer comes to you, you'll Know! In the meantime, it sounds like maybe you shouldn't Jump Into Anything, right now.
"Act in Haste, repent at leisure"... you'll know when it's Right.
Go over what you Really want in a camper, timeline, $$, etc.......Put all the Wanted variables together, then the solution should Jump out at you. If it doesn't, then take a step back and relax. We got told that January is the best time to buy a camper because the dealerships are jumping out of their skin to sell their inventory to you, and they're still open or have auctions. There apparently are "convention" type of thingies, open to the public, that are held then. Convention isn't the right word, but I just can't think of it. Maybe like a Home & Travel Show.......
OMG Betty that is so cute!! I love it!! Stick to your new plans, don't let mom do that to you...again. If it were me, and this is just me, I'd go look at it and get the confusion out. $500 seems high to me but I know nothing about it, think U-Haul could do better.
do u haul's do hitches..could check with Canadian Tire as well..it is what I want or very close to..hmmm
yes, U-Haul does hitches.... at least they did when my DH was a site supervisor for them.
Called and checked u-haul, not the u-haul's in town but in major cities..called Canadian Tire and got put to a line - 10 minutes later hung up..called my dealership and yes, they can do $400 + taxes
Oh Betty, sorry she may be changing her mind again!!! Call around and get different prices! Hitches are quite pricey here. That price seams about right!
Do you have Ryder trucks and/or Penske Trucks, or any U-Haul competitor? The dealership is going to be the highest.
Betty, do you need to have one permantely installed, so it will be there when you need it. Maybe you can just rent one when you need it? Something to check into!
Betty - you'd still have to have something permanently there, even if the hitch itself isn't. For instance - I believe trailers don't come with lights, etc. I may be wrong, but I know there are light kits available......
Yes the price included the light kit so everywhere I called it was similar in price..as I'm confused at present think I'll leave it in the hands of the Lord..the one that most attracted me was in Illinois..won't be using till spring so you are right, why rush, that will give me time to instal proper hitch..there..only took me all day to come to that conclusion.
Betty, that will also give you time....for maybe the boys to put hitch and stuff on for you as a Christmas gift....if you drop enough hints! lol
LOL good idea, Betty, and good idea, Debbie!!
That is a cute little camper, perfect for 1 person. I agree Betty-if you don't get this one, let Darlene help out. You may be able to get one for pretty cheap brand new in a little bit here-seems to me they would go on sale B4 winter...
I heard it from a dealer - yes, they go on sale before winter, but when they don't all sell, they usually have some stock left over, and it can be gotten "for a song" in January (and that's Canada's January!)
Both are excellent ideas, look at this link
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=permanent+trailer+hitches&x=0&y=0
thanks Crissy, think by the time you add the electrical harness, the main frame etc. and labor we're about same price..
Just got home, going to put my feet up, Ann should be here by 7:30 for t.v. bingo, Greg should get here shortly with window and screens if he remembered to go pick them up and Rose on her way out roller blade'ing.. might shut my eyes for 5 or 10 minutes, no wait, cooking pork chops and rice, no can do..lol
Don' burn the pork chops!!!!
Good luck on the tv bingo!
Or the rice!! LOL
Rose already knows me..I was walking upstairs after the last post and she was on her way out, said 'remember you have porkchops on lol
Greg dropped in with the boys and brought the news windows and screen panels..put them safely on back deck but the wind is sooo strong hope they are still there in the morning...Storm is brewing for sure...no bingo $$$
As for Darlene's offer, won't need it, already had it planned at $500-$700 a month put away and by February I could order it ready for spring..already have my first 2 instalments thanks to Rose..
Stacey, it's a double bed so great for me and a hitch-hicker..lol..and yes, I'll put the hitch on my Christmas list.
Tired tonight, Ann just left, Rose is in her bedroom on her computer and I'm ready to call it a night..already Wednesday, lordy the weeks are passing by so quickly...
Night/night everyone
thanks for keeping me company today, sure did need it.
Bless you all!
I'm sorry to hear of your loss Betty ! What a talented artist ! ((hugs))
Drizzling outside, high winds, Debbie and Barb, am sure you will get much of the same today, but happy days, sunshine all weekend!
Couldn't sleep last night so decided to get up and at it at 4:30am..4 blocks left and I can sew last 4 rows to the afghan and voila, another project behind me..
Just tidied up craft room as I had every table in use and the girls are coming, they need working space, checked the projects they are doing, I believe Pat is painting a sign with her house on it, Ann is painting a cheese tray and board (glass insert) and Liz a country garden scene for a blackboard..the others I imagine are starting new projects as I don't see any other project sitting around..
Lot's of time perhaps I'll go take a few photo's before pressing 'send'
Here's the start of Pat's project
The girls here often go to garage sales, when they see the calendar holders made of wood for next of nothing you can be sure they purchase them..easily turned into works of art..
Liz loves 'country garden' scenes
Told Rose to come downstairs when she comes home for lunch today and meet the girls, Ann is here so I'm sure she'll get Rose downstairs for a quick 'hi'..
Waving to all, hope you have a sunshine day..sending prayers for those of you who need them..for those who don't maybe you could stockpile them..always useful..
Gab later
Morning Betty, those are beautiful pieces of art! Wow, you have such talented friends!
What will you be teaching us for our Christmas project?
OOOOOOOO-the xmas project:)
Love that cottage garden one-so pretty!!
