Thanks....... ^_^
Best/Worse/What did I learn/chat about our day!
OMG how wonderful Susan, if nothing else , it doesn't give you time to fret...wonder how long you'll have to wait to see if you got the position..
Here I am listening to Joyce Meyer preach on patience (need that today) and she is talking about leaving things to God..maybe you want to listen..
http://www.lightsource.com/ministry/joyce-meyer-ministries/20100909/
I'm listening to it now, Betty - thank you!!
Betty, I love her sermons! They are so uplifting!
They really ARE! I've never heard her before. I love the story about the car - her DH Finally sold it on HIS terms LOL
Stacey you have every right to be self-centered right now! That has to be hard to leave him in the hospital when you have been released. I know you know your not being a bad mother by leaving him, you're doing what you have to do, go shopping for him and get ready for him to come home, he could be released early and you'd feel worse if you didn't have his room ready.
Betty Dave always does this, remember when I said he changes his mind when the wind changes directions? Yes it drives me nuts, and I hate to say it but if it doesn't have a bar involved in the plans he doesn't want to do it, he'd rather stay home. And just FYI, he doesn't want to go to the bar to drink, he's always saying 'it's too expensive!' he wants to go to the bar to visit, he likes having friends in low places LOL! He was going to a kayak round up and hoping to sell his kayak, he wasn't going to be in the water, it was very humid Saturday after the rain stopped and it would have been miserable out there. And I agree, I think it was wrong of her to change plans without talking to you first. It's so hard to tell them when they upset you, I know.
Memphis is too far, we left the house at 10 and wanted to be back at 5, and she's not much of a shopper if it doesn't have a dollar store involved. What's up with these people I know???? LOL!!
GOOD LUCK SUSAN!!!!!!
Thank you all!!
fyi - my burn is much better - doing that awful "scabbing over" thingie..... yuck! At least I can bend it, and I think typing into the thread is helping........ LOL
Glad to hear it is finally healing up! Burns are the most painful injuries!
Was kidding Crissy when I mentioned the Memphis store, it's me wanting to be there! lol...I'm usually a person that makes a plan and sticks to it regardless, usually always on time if not before also..absolutely hate being late!
Glad your burn is healing, bet you are getting antzy aren't you for your interview...just tell yourself you are ALL they are looking for and more..
Yes, love Joyce Meyer but my guy is Joel Olsteen, never miss his Sunday sermon and usually go through some of his old..doesn't teach scripture just teaches good living, kindness and love...of course his being such a hunk doesn't hurt...
My dream it to go to Texas and hear him preach, mind you, I heard he was in Toronto a few years ago and it was too late to get tickets, no I watch as to where he will be over 6 month period and believe me, I'm going when he comes ....
Had 22 more crochet squares to finish and afghan done that I started last week, wouldn't you know, forgot my hook at home so it's sit and play all afternoon..
Betty - I AM all they're looking for, and more LOL
Thanks LK - burns are nasty, but look even worse. I can't even shake someone's hand with confidence....... yikes - will have to try, with 3 interviewers... ouch!
I'm sure they'll see your hand and you'll not have to shake theirs..shows even when in pain you show up..lol
LOL Betty, I wasn't because I actually did think about it, then math had to happen :(
Susan it won't hurt it to put a band aid on it just for the interview, you don't want someone else's germs to get in it either.
Are you feeling all better now Crissy..meds are ok..when will you be visiting yur mom?
lol Betty - they'll be concerned about more than my hand lol
Crissy - maybe you're right - I've been leaving it open to air, but one hour won't kill me LOL
I don't know when I'm going to visit my mom, I usually visit once a year and we did that on Memorial Day weekend, so I'm not sure. I don't know if I'll have time to visit before the winter with all these conferences and RU's and birthdays and what-not coming up. I think the meds are working, I'm not coughing as much, and my side is healing rather quickly, thank goodness, that was painful!
Susan I'd put a band aid on it for sure, you don't have to worry about it getting injured anymore than it already is either, if it's covered. No 1 hour is definitely not going to hurt it.
Don't know why Crissy I thought you went several times on long weekends for a visit..
Just one long weekend a year usually, I used to go on Labor Day Weekend but since I went on Memorial Day Weekend I didn't go, plus she can't do anything and normally doesn't want me visiting when she can't do anything anyway.
Betty I was chuckling to myself when you were talking about not being late. I was raised if you can't be somewhere on time or early than you had better not go. I was NEVER late for anything in my life until I met my husband. He was so tardy that our friends told us to come an hour earlier than they wanted in hopes we would be on time.Once DH said lets surprise Ted and Judy and get there right on time. I hemmed and hawed because I knew we would be an hour early. When DH walked up to the door Judy was still hoovering, looked at DH and said "what the h*** are you doing here?' The looks on both their faces was priceless. As the years have gone by DH is very much a stickler about being on time - thank goodness!
Thinking positive thoughts Susan about your interview.
So Mary is your husband really talking funny after his auctioneering course? Who all is planning your inlaws anniversary party - hope it is not just you, that's alot of work?
Stacey you take care of yourself and get done what you need to.... your little guy is going to need you in tip top shape when he comes home. "Comes home" isn't that just such an exciting thing to be able to say?
Crissy I am so glad the new puffer is working for you. Made a huge difference for me and when my DH was put on it rather than Advair the change was unbelievable. Were you a smoker at one time? I wasn't but DH was.... I just inheirted dad's lungs I think.
Rain and T and L have stopped so think I will attempt another walk.
Enjoy the rest of the day and evening everybody.
Dianne
LOL Dianne he sounds exactly like my dad, except my dad would be 3 hours late. When my grandfather passed away (mom's mom) I told my dad a time that was 1 1/2 hours before the funeral started so he wouldn't be late, low in behold he was on time and the only one in the parking lot, I told him I must have gotten the time confused! Because of my dad I have a problem being on time, but I'm always running 5 to 10 minutes late, not 5 to 10 hours late LOL!!
I've never smoked other than a couple drags a week when we go out, and I like Advair better, weird how different people take differently to different medicines isn't it. My dad's never been a smoker either but he was a massive bar fly for about 35 years, I was so happy when CA banned smoking inside buildings about 10 to 15 years ago, but now that he lives in Joplin, MO they don't have a smoking ban inside bars and night-clubs, and even though he doesn't go every day like he was, he still goes and let me tell you, you can't tell him and me apart when we cough, other than the natural voice. I inherited all of his stuff, ailments, gray hair, looks, etc, and nothing of my moms, which is good because he doesn't have heart problems or cancer or anything except for bad backs that runs in his family and my mom has heart problems with the men and strokes with the women.
Thanks everyone. Chris and I were talking today about how we can't even imagine our lives B4 friday now-seemed so pointless...
Here are some more pics-FYI a few are RIGHT after the birth-like an hour, so now you know why I look like I went through a tornado;)
http://picasaweb.google.com/Fairy1004/Jonathan?feat=directlink#
Awwwwwww he's so adorable, Stacey & Chris!!
I never tire of looking at him ^_^
btw - My Interview went fabulously, and I really hope I get this job with SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology)!!!
Absolutely love all the photo's Stacey..parenthood gives you a new focus on life! How was Jonathan today, gaining?
Dianne, we were brought up in same era, I have seen my grandfather who wouldn't have taken a day off if he was dying go to work and hear the start whistle (that's what they did 1/2 century ago) lol and turn around and come home and yet he was but minutes away..
Crissy, used to do same with Roger but it didn't take him long to figure out that I'd add 1 hr. to all our appts./events. It got where I would go alone and he'd meet me. Amazing isn't it what we inherit from our parents..
Susan, how did the interview go?
Kyle was just here, watched hoarders with me, asked him if it reminded him of grandma's, he started to laugh..was that a yes or a no???
Rose was gone rollerblading when I got home, got a call from a friend, she was in and out and just came back, had forgotten she joined yoga so she's having din/din and I am ready for bed, almost, hot bath and pain killers..
Good Lord willing we'll gab tomorrow
Susan we crossed posted, when are you expected to hear wether or not you got it???
Hello To All !
Well - Betty - the way you get to Texas, is you head South to Louisiana then take a Right turn and go straight... LOL
OH! While you're here... you can stop and visit !
Thank you for the info re: 4-6 weeks.... I had no idea and I've actually googled to try to find out... I thought it was like any party... 2 weeks or so... Guess I'd better get moving...
To answer Betty & Dianne... MIL/FIL have TWO Boys... the youngest is my DH... So I'm basically the only woman in the mix. My BIL is divorced... He is great though... he's done a lot on this... I just want this to be the best 50th ever... they are REALLY good in-laws... I know... I'm lucky. Whenever I contemplate divorcing DH... I remember them and the deal is off LOL !!!
Betty - you are WAY too neat to be a hoarder LOL... I"m sure those hoarders aren't sending pics of their home on websites and your place is always neat as a pin.
Susan - job sounds Perfect... I'm praying for you !
Stacey - Congratulations ! You are def not selfish... we love hearing of baby Jonathan!
Dianne - DH hasn't come home yet... however it's interesting to hear some of the things they are doing to train them as auctioneers...I think he comes home Sunday....
Headed to try to figure out labels and mail merge for invites.... now I know I'm behind...
I'll pop back in a bit...
Hugs,
Mary
There is a new virus going around. Don't open any emails, with the subject line, "here you have"! No matter who it is from! Just delete it!
http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/virus-mail-spreads-online/story?id=11596433
Thanks LK ! Did you have a hot weekend too? Thank goodness it cooled down today... ((HUGS)) how are the nieces & nephews and kids?
It has been 98, 99 for quite some time now. Not the 100+ you had, but still hot enough! 10:38 at night, and it is still 88 degree's!
Hopefully will cool off soon !
All - and ESP....Deb... Found out... the kids new game with Dear Pup... aka Belle.... When I go to get ice for a drink.... Belle gets SO SO excited....
Come to find out.. the kids (okay...and now me too) "Drop" a piece of ice on the floor and Belle goes NUTS... you'd think it was BACON or something good... LOL
Hugs,
Mary
Interview went Very Well. They liked my questions, and I liked their answers LOL
Heck, They liked my answers!
They need someone to start right away, and they liked the fact that I told them even though I got a handsome settlement, and could take some time off, I don't want to. I want to get right to work!
I may hear this week. They said they have other interviews this week (don't know how long.... could be tomorrow, for all I know)....... I'll know when I know, and then You'll know LOL
In the meantime, I'll be patient, and leave it to the LORD!!
Mary the hardest thing I had to do when I left my first DH was leave my MIL.Momma was the best but I knew once I left her son she would not even talk to me.I miss her to this day and it has been over 40 years since I talked to her last.
You will do yourself proud Mary getting this party organized. Glad to hear your BIL is helping too. I can hardly wait for pictures.
We are down into the 60*s now and I am just loving it. I don't know how those of you who in the hot states can do it.My goodness it would be like living through a hot flash all of the time!
LK thanks for the heads up on the new virus. A friend of mine had her hot mail account directory stolen - we have all been getting some very lewd and weird emails.I won't open an email unless I know who it is from so try to play it safe that way.
Today I managed to empty out all the cupboards and drawers in the bathroom, scrub them out and then oil the wood so they all look sparkly and clean. DH helped me scrub the hard water stains off of the tiles around the bathtub. I even got the trim washed down. Think I will order DH to use the second washroom for a few days. I want to enjoy that glow!Tomorrow I am going to be very brave or foolish, however you want to see it and tackle the walkin closet in the master bedroom. If you don't hear from me by late tomorrow night send help.lol
Dogs are here, leashes in their mouths - time for 1 last small walk.
Make sure you do something nice for yourself tomorrow.
Dianne
Hugs to all...
LK - Thanks for the Heads up !
Susan - I think you may be just what they need! Please keep us posted!
Dianne - I think we're "all clear" once we get the kids graduated there's no reason to divorce DH! LOL..... I do love him but the girls ARE quite the challenge... but my dear MIL and FIL have been VERY special to me and to my dear son who lost my mom his grandma in '04..........they have been the "Main" grandparents in his life... don't know why my dad never stepped up... but whatever.. you get what you get.....
Lots coming up... can't wait to plan.... HUGS,
Mary
Thanks, Mary - I hope they think that too!!!
Morning,
It was an early night for me, always tired on a Monday, by 9:00 I was safely tucked into bed and sound asleep after 2 pain killers I should be, telephone rang at 10:00pm and it was Grace Wilmott, her hubby George has painted with me at my last 2 houses, guess going on 10 years..last few weeks he's not been well, she called to say he passed away yesterday..poor dear, she was so distraught, thankfully her sister was with her..she asked about the milkcan George was painting, said it was for her niece and could she have it as a remembrance, as we gabbed I came downstairs to find George had 3/4's of it done..the girls and I will finish putting in the old vehicle, few trees, touch up the black background but leaving all else as George's work of art..he was 76! I called all the girls that George happily called his harem, we'll all meet on Thursday night for the viewing. We sure will miss him!!!
So, the rest of the night I couldn't sleep.
Will gab when I get to work...
almost forgot the photo I took of George's last piece...
Grace was telling me that she couldn't go through family photo's for the viewing, just couldn't bring herself to do so..when speaking with their friend who is funeral director about George's love for painting and all he had done they decided that his wall pictures and a few other masterpieces will be set out for all to see at the funeral home..she thought this would certainly please George.
Betty, I'm so sorry for your loss. George was a very talented painter. That can is gorgeous just the way it is!!!!! But I'm sure he would have liked his harem to finish it for him......
Wow does that can look awsome!! So sorry to hear that he is no longer with you all...
Jonathan is doing well I guess. His feeding is up to 35ML and he is now taking about 1/2 of that consistently from the bottle. He is off the IV, but now has jaundice so he will be under the light when we go see him today. We also will not be able to hold him much, pretty much for feedings only...
I need to call the Dr today as I am still not really sleeping even with the Ambien she prescribed....I wake up every hour or 2 and it takes forever to get back to sleep...
Dianne-I sure could use you right now to get the house ready;)
Mary-I too have wonderful in laws-MIL, her 3 kids and 1 of their spouses are really great!! I think the ice thing is because it slides around and it is almost like it is playing back with them;) My personal theory at least.
Betty-when you start to have to shovel a path out to get around your house then we might call the Hoarders show, but you are no where near that:) Those people I really don't get. It usually isn't just the stuff they have either, a lot of times they live in filth because they can't get around to clean anymore. Scary..
Morning everyone!
Betty, so sorry to hear you all lost George! That can is so pretty, he did a wonderful job paining it! Hope you will get so me sleep tonight! Be careful taking 2 painpills at bed time, one usually will relax you, but sometimes 2 will get you amped up!
Stacey, your not sleeping is normal I think, because you know you don't have your baby safe and sound at home. Give it a few more days, and you will get used to him not being there. Yes, you will still be worried, but your body will regulate itself in a few days I hope?
Stacey, glad to hear that Jonathan is doing well, think most babies go through jaundice. As for your sleeping, can almost guarantee it's the excitement and worry all rolled into one..soon you will settle down into a routine and yes, you have a lovely MIL..love her death..Janice is great! Mary, they are a blessing to you as well...lucky for you to have such in-laws, not always the case.
My MIL/FIL were fine until I had to make decisions when Roger was dying..it was hard to lose almost an entire family just because I was following Roger's wishes, but, it's done, friends with the elder 4 , the other 6 well they were much younger and now live in the city..courteous when we meet..more my boys ages so they get along well..my FIL though was french and he felt that women should be seen and not heard, only around to look after house and children..I soon changed that thought..lol
Hoarders..got to tell you, I've watched it each of the 3 days and last garbage day and this garbage day 2 bags were set out at roadside with things I probably wouldn't use again..if I do that for the next 6 or 8 weeks I should have rid myself of quite a bit of junk, not all junk but I feel when it's no longer time for me to keep it, it's ready for garbage. The show I watched last night Stacey, the woman was attached to 'toilet paper' and the other woman, she had no head, no water for 2 years, couldn't bare to part with any items...don't know how you get there, know I'm a collector of gadgets especially when they have to do with new craft I've taken up but NOT gum wrappers, toothpicks, one woman was so upset because the men had carried out bags and it had about a sliver of tile that fit in a cracked tile at her entrance, about 8 years prior, was going to make them go through all the bags in the dumpster..had I been the men or the organizer helping, I'd have brought every bag in and say 'here to you'...
Dropped into my brother Bernie's last night on the way home..we will get together Friday afternoon and make a list of what supplies are needed to put the new windows in, close in back deck (already bought the Victorian door and screen sections, then maybe while I have him I'll get him to do the little room I want to use as an office just incase I do work from home..I was laughing to myself, didn't tell him all I needed him to do, thought I'd throw it in when he comes...
Looked at the weather forecast for weekend, right now they are calling for sunshine so either Saturday or Sunday I'll get all 4 boys together and do Wonderland; still thinking my mom will call to change her mind..(???)
Think we'd all best get Dianne in to help us clean and organize! Dianne don't you know it's spring cleaning you do, fall you just enjoy.
Sailor loves icecubes as well, perhaps they are soothing.
Told you my worse of yesterday, of course it being George dying, but will tell you my best.. was gabbing to my friend Darlene and she asked me if I found the camper I wanted..yes I said but I have to save my pennies, I'll have it by spring, down to 2 manufacturers, got to balance pro's and con's of both..she says, ' why wait till spring, life is too short, you want it, order it and I'll pay for it and just give me $$$ here and there..thanked her and Mike for the offer but said I'd appreciate it more if I saved pennies...they told me to think about it..said maybe I'd have winter holidays and I could use it then..imagine..know they have millions but it doesn't mean they have to be so generous with friends, just the kind of people they are..warmed my heart to know they think of me that much...
What did I learn? That you can live in a house with someone else and rarely see them..lol
Thanks LindaKay, George got such a pleasure to be the only man amongst so many women..it's funny, about 10 years ago Grace called and asked if she could come to my class, told her yes and to come on Monday..Monday came and George was there for class, asked him about Grace and he said she had changed her mind...as it went, that night Grace called and said the whole purpose of her coming to join us was to get away from George for a day NOT to come with him...I started to laugh..we all need our own space at some point don't we.
This morning I sat in his spot, everyone seems to have their own spot..got out some wooden skates that need painting to include a set for everyone with my christmas gifts and thought of George, he had just told me he would cut them all out for us, his part of christmas cheer..so
guess I'll pick up the wood and start cutting them myself...miss him already!
Betty, it is so nice to have friends like that!
Tubby how are you doing today? Did you get your computer running smoothly now?
