They will start giving me Pitocin after lunch to get the show on the road since I am at 6cm:")

Victoria Harbour, ON

Well she doesn't seem to be having hard labor..'c' section it will be right?
Anxiously awaiting more news..

Crissy, see you are a Saints fan as well...geaux Saints go...

LindaKay I especially like hanging clothes on the line in winter time, nothing like getting into bed and smelling the freshness..can't use my clothes line right now lol the lace vine that is growing has feelers attached...

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I'm actually a 49ers fan, but since I don't live there anymore and we rarely get to watch a 49ers game on tv because they show east coast and southern games here... you know, got to pick the best local team!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Stacey is going to have a c-section?? but if she's 6cm dilated, then she can have a "normal birth" right?

burn is much better - I can close my fingers together now....the swelling is going down. It happened on tues am, and it's Friday am, so guess the scab on it is a good thing. I guess it looks pretty bad, but I must be getting used to it - the ladies last night at choir practice were grossed out...... (it was our first practice of the new season).

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, if they are giving her pitocin...and she is 6 cm...she is going to deliver him natural. They don't give Pit before a c-section....it makes the labor progress quickly with stronger contractions.

If she is at 6 cm..we should have a "nephew" by 6:00 p.m.!

♫♪Happy Birthday, Synda♪♫

Sorry Susan, cross posted.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

s'ok Debbie!! lol

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Twila great to see you!

Betty you sure do have your weekend planned. Usually we just take one hour at a time, but Dave has a kayak RU to go to tomorrow with his friend Greg, so me and Greg's wife are going to lunch and whatever else strikes our fancy during the day. Me and Dave don't have plans for tomorrow night, neither one of us have brought it up. Sunday is always a lazy day.

LK if I wasn't so lazy I'd hang my clothes too, but nnaaaaaaaa LOL

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

But she said they're not going to give her that until after lunch. YAY a normal birth!!! I guess they don't do C-Sections unless they absolutely have to. I hope she's ready because he apparently is, or thinks he is anyway!

Lyndonville, NY

Sometimes...with a premie birth...they want the baby to go thru the birth canal...to help rid the fluid from the lungs better. Long as everything else is OK, its better.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wow you guys are so knowledgeable, me I'd have to guess as to what side my heart is..know where my kidney's are ONLY because of the 1 year spent with kidney failure..lol

So Debbie you are guessing 6pm..I'll say 4pm..oh that's not many hours away..

Crissy glad Chris is getting to the kayak roundup..he and Jeff sure would hit it off..I'm sure you two gals will find shopping around where the restaurant is...Sunday is your day of rest..keep that tradition..nobody taught me as I was growing up that there was a day of rest and look at the mess I'm in..lol.

Glad Susan that your burn is healing..you know you never did send me the link so I could hear your solo?? sent you both home and work e-mail addresses..

Guess we're working till 3:00 today..ah well, busy so the morning passed quickly..

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Victoria Harbour, ON

I absolutely love it as I am sure your mom did...pretty lady, nice to put a face to a voice and what a voice...now tell me, did you have back singers, almost sounded but maybe because I was using my ear piece for sound that others were singing... great singing!

Paul just called said this week is our last 1:00pm close..drats, wish I could work today and have next Friday off as I'm going to Buffalo..

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

thank you, Betty, you're sweet....... No back singers at all. Just me.

Has Paul figured out the "work from home with transferable phone" thingie, yet?

Victoria Harbour, ON

2 minutes to go..

He told me the other day he's waiting for the equipment and will know then..it's been a wait for him getting it from Primus provider..Jeff says he doesn't see why it can't work so just playing it by ear...

If I keep finding projects that take $$$$ I'll be working forever..lol

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I'll call you at home, when you get there!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

If your all betting on the time of arrival, I say he will arrive at 2:35pm, central time! That will be 3:35 Michigan time for Stacey. I will send some flower seeds to who ever is closest.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I say 2:05 pm Mountain time - 3 Central, and 4 Eastern.......

Lyndonville, NY

I will say 3:15 Eastern.....or 2:15 Michigan time!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty Jeff and Dave would hit it off, there's not doubt about that, but Dave's not that big into it though. The RU is in the town our zip code is out of, so it's close, and he's hoping to sell his kayak as it's too small for him, it's only supposed to hold a person who weighs up to 200 pounds, he weighs 220. I asked him if he was going to buy a bigger one and he said no, he has no real interest and every time him and Greg go out he gets beat up and hurts for 2 weeks afterward and just doesn't feel that it's all that rewarding. It's up to him, I just wish he would get into something that would give him some male contact, he gets upset that I go running off with the DG gals now and then because he's not into any club or anything.

I say 6:35pm Central Time. Janice posted on the Sweet Interruptions thread! I didn't copy the link :(

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Here's what Janice posted on the SI Thread

"I got a call at 2:30 on Wednesday morning from Stacey saying she was gushing fluid and what could be wrong. I told her that her water broke and to call the doctor. The doctor sent her to Toledo Hospital, not the one she was supposed to go to, since they have a terrific Neo-natal Unit. I drove up and arrived around 4:30.
Chris has just driven to Minneapolis the day before for training in his new position. Was supposed to be there for 4 weeks. Due date not until mid Oct. so that seemed to fit just right. Now we had to call him and he turned around with 3 hours sleep and drove back to Toledo arriving around 3 in the afternoon.

In the beginning they were giving Stacey something to slow labor. She was 5 centimeters when she arrived at the hospital. They also gave her antibiotics for infection and steroids to strengthen Jonathan's lungs. She is only 33 weeks and the concern was for his lack of development. They had an ultrasound last Thursday and it showed he was 5.5 lbs. so he wont be the usually small preemie.
This whole process took longer than expected and Stacey had not eatten since early Tuesday evening nor slept. Luckily they had a great nurse on Wednesday night and she arranged for food, a sleeping pill that was safe, and an air mattress for the bed so it was more comfortable. By Thursday Stacey was in much better spirits having had dinner and breakfast and a good night's sleep.

Now the decision had to be made to keep on slowing labor into next week or to take her off the meds and let nature take it's course. Another specialist was called in and the decision was made to take her off the meds and give her Pitocin to start labor again after noon. They feel that once she starts, since she is now at 6 cent., that labor will be rather quick. We'll see how quick!
She has been continually leaking fluid; some from the fluids they are giving her and some when the baby goes pee. This means it will not be a dry birth.
They also are going to go natural with her getting an epidural when she wants it, but not doing a C- section unless absolutely necessary.

The only bad thing in this roller coaster ride is that they will not be able to bring Jonathan home for quite some time. Even if his lungs are developed enough for him to breath with some oxygen he is only 33 weeks developed. Babies have stages to go through and they can't missed them. If the don't do it inside they have to do it outside with help. Babies can't suck on their own until they are around 36 weeks so they will have to feed him intravenously until he is old enough and then teach him to suck. They may have to her pump and bring milk in for him. The doctors say they want to keep Jonathan until her regular due date of mid Oct. but all will depend on what they find when he is born. It could be that they were wrong on the date all along and he is further along than they thought but that is not likely.

You can see that this whole process has been and is still a waiting game. Jonathan controls everything as I'm sure he will even after he arrives.

As you can imagine they were not really prepared for Jonathan's arrival so soon so the wait will give them time to finish painting the room and getting those last minute things to make life comfortable. While they have a bed and mattress, they need to get sheets, bumper, pads, etc. You all know the drill! Stacey will be busy getting ready and hopefully the time will go quickly.

Chris, eventually, needs to go back to Minneapolis for that 4 weeks of training but he will work here while the baby is in ICU and then take a week of vacation when he comes home. We'll worry about the other things later.

Anyone who wants more news can call me at 419-937-1719 or my cell 517-896-0970.
Thanks to all for you concerns. It is appreciated.
