TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

hahahaha eye candy, Indeed, Jaye!!
We're NONE of use That Old, yet lol

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

We're never that old!! If it looks good, look at it! LOL

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I totally agree---old but I ain't dead! LOL He had a wonderful Spanish accent---hummm maybe I should have stayed until he released Mom and just enjoy the "eye candy"

Well, the latest report is they might move her to the Rehab Center this weekend provided the diarrhea is stopped. My sister checked it out with a just walk in no prep visit. Said it is very clean, nice modern rehab equipment, take all clients down to dining room for meals at large round tables so she will be with others for company. They provided entertainment and the last: we have a cousin who we discovered works there. That is a definite plus.

Jaye, is Kel;s Dad in rehab now or have I missed something? I am sure I missed things --just been foggier more than usual. How are you be effected by Earl?

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Ultrasound was fast-the baby is in the 80th % for size-he should weigh about 4lbs and he weighs 5.5lbs and his head is already down!!! I will have another in 4 weeks and if he is 7.5-8lbs we will talk about inducing or c-section. The Dr. said once a baby gets to be a certain size and depending on the size of the mom's pelvic area, it can cause nerve damage between the head and shoulder or the baby just won't come down the canal-ie. c-section. That would be my last option in my opinion as I have no desire to be sliced open and have to recover from that if I can help it.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh my! No, you do not want him getting large. C sections are not that bad according to my DIL who had to have one as the girls' heads were to big and she wouldn't dilate enough. Keep us posted.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

I was jealous of the girls that had C-sections when I had Lisa....we were limping down the hall to eat and they were skipping.....well, maybe that's an exaggeration but it seemed that way!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Hey Cookie, how is your Mom doing?

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

She's been good for the last two mornings. I haven't talked to her yet today. She can go for a few days and be fine and then maybe 3 or 4 days in a row she has the problem. Dad said he thought a couple weeks ago that she was nervous about her birthday party (54 people came), but the day after it was over she had a bout and then the next day as well...so that's probably not it! I told Dad it probably would be a good idea for her to be on a mild anti-depressant, but she'd likely say no to that...her excuse is always that she's already on too many meds and she certainly doesn't need the expense of another one!
What can you do with them??????????

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Cookie, would your mother try some natural antidepressants? St. John's wort or maybe fish oil?
http://naturalmedicine.suite101.com/article.cfm/natural_antidepressants_compared

Stacey, looks like Jonathan's in a hurry to be in the world!
I'm sure you'd consider an emergency c-section if there's risks involve in natural birthing.
Two of my sisters had to have c-sections and they were glad they for the bikini cut.

Maid M., FIL was immediately placed in a private rehab center after the hospital doctors couldn't help him anymore with his stroke.
It was truly a state of the art facility and FIL was lucky that he didn't have to pay a single penny as he's a qualified candidate for their 'sponsor program'. His 3 weeks' stay would have cost $35,000!!

Sis Kathy..please let us know how your tests went.

Catch you all later sistahs..

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Understand now Jaye. I thought will all my "loose gray matter" these past days I have missed something. It appears Mom is going to Rehab either tomorrow or Saturday; however, she has lost more weight as the diarrhea hasn't been stopped. Very weak now and the nurses told me (yes, I couldn't get an answer from my sister so I called the hospital) she is really weak and it will take a while to build her back up to where she was pre op and believe me, that wasn't all that good. Not a fun time but life does and will go on and we just prayer for the best.

How are you doing Jaye? What effects from Earl are you getting or will you get?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Maid M., are they doing an IV drip to keep her hydrated?

We're not supposed to feel the wrath of Earl. Not even any rain.
He's heading straight to the Outer Banks. I just pray that it just dissipate into a category 1.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

She still has IVs but I am not sure what they are giving her other than Ringers Lactat--sure glad I learned about that stuff on all the medical shows. LOL

They are bringing her food but it is all liquids and most of the time she can't eat much as she shakes so badly she spills it all over herself. We have asked repeatedly for a cup for her soups but so far none. Sister just called and asked if I can come back down tomorrow so I can go twice a day and feed her. I love her dearly but right now I have to get some things done here so she is having to make the 90 round trip to do it----or see to it they bring her a cup or take one for her.

Please everyone, I don't mean to sound cold, but I seriously have things I need to do before I return there.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

MArion, we know you have things to do, and sometimes someone else has to step up, like your Sister. Maybe she can get a motel or room close by? Is there a Ronald McDonald house there she can stay at?

Glenview, IL

good night friends and sleep well

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, did you post a link to your solo video?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

hmmmmmmm that solo............. I sent it out to 3 people, and only one replied, and was very sweetly honest (I appreciate that more than she knows!) and it was NOT my best effort. In fact, when I heard it, I was ready to give up singing...... Seriously!
It was not as good as what I'd done at the Sunday service, so I haven't sent it to anyone else. I've been told (by the same one who reviewed it) that I do have a singing voice, but that it wasn't my best effort. I will still send it to my mom. Perhaps it was partly due to the fact that I used my digital camera for recording, but I still had far too many "flat" notes..

This solo, btw, is not to be shared by anyone I sent it to. As I said, two that I sent it to have not said anything, so I gather they're trying to spare my feelings. No, I'm not "fishing" for compliments.

BTW - I'm heading out tomorrow afternoon, camping, and won't be returning until sometime Tuesday. I'm looking forward to it! We have a new tent, and I imagine the campground will be quite quiet, because it's end of the season for tenters, and so many kids are going back to school that I don't know if many will be camping over the Long Weekend.......
Hope to chat atcha tomorrow!

Enjoy your camping week-end. I do hope you have nice quiet time!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Marion, you must take care of your affairs first, so you could be of better help to your sister and your mum. No you're not being cold.

Sue, we have an awesome Lord that will find ways to make our 'problems' bearable.
With your DH overseas.. and your daughter in her own world.. PTL for giving you the strength to still take care of your twins and your home.

Sistah Judy, take a breather now and then!!! Do stop and smell the roses!! Yah right.. me giving you that advice!! How ironic..and it's us that's been running ragged.

So that means, LK, I couldn't do much today. Even had to bring Cupcake along with us to ensure her feeding!! Talk about going to the extremes for our animals!

Susan, don't... DON'T give up on singing!!! God gave you a good singing voice for a reason.. and I'm sure your church congregration appreciate you!

Heartbreaking news here. Kel's uncle's been told he has one month left.
Yes Karen.. even though he has the heavy duty lab made pain killers.. his green herbs harvest is what he soughts all the time!

What am I learning from this? Sacrifice some time to spend time with those who are important to you if the distance is not a problem.
And tell them how much you love them.

I love you all!!

Good night!

Morning everyone! it is 62 degrees here, and raining! it is so nice. Doors and windows are open!

Jaye, I could not agree with you more. Always let those your close to, know you love them! We never know when it will be our time to go home!

Coffee is ready!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Wish we were getting rain...I can't remember it being this dry in years. The grass is pretty much brown most places. Bill has been cutting at 4 inches all year and ours is still semi-green. However, the flowerbeds are like sand they are so dry. You just can't water enough.

I almost am afraid to mention this. I mentioned to the friend that told me about the Office manager job at Vitas that I'd never heard anything from them and that was Aug. 4th when I went there and took my resume. I didn't get to meet with anyone that day and left my resume. Well, my friend told me yesterday that they STILL had not filled the position, and the HR woman was very interested in looking at my resume cause she never got it....hmmmm.....makes me wonder what her desk looks like! Anyway, I called her and asked if I could email it to her, so that's what I did. Haven't heard back, so it's probably not going to amount to anything, but it's the first semi-hopeful thing I've heard. Guess what I'm saying is keep your fingers crossed and the prayers going up! ^_^

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cookie, I will cross all my fingers and toes, and saying lots of prayers for that application to arrive in her hands, and not get lost in the shuffle! Keep us posted please?

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Jaye, sending hugs and prayers t you and Kel. I so agree, we do have to make time for those we love--everything else is really unimportant. Unless it is getting bills paid to keep from having a house in foreclosure--nope mine isn't.

LK we have a nice cool crisp morning here also. I love it, almost didn't want to come back inside.

Well this is the starting weekend of the football season so I need to get into town for groceries and back. I really don't like the traffic that will be generated by the games.

Have a wonderful day all.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

SUE WAVING BACK!!! I want a smoothie too, I haven't had one in a long time. I have officially coughed so much I either broke a rib or pulled a muscle or something. I wanted to dig weeds this weekend!

Joyce Dave applied and interviewed for a position in July that won't open up until November. I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you too Hun!

Jaye sending tons of big hugs and prayers for Kel and his uncle.

I don't know what the companies are doing right now but he had another interview yesterday at Kohler and he said that was one of the best interviews he has ever had. They need someone who has buying from overseas experience, which he has that, said he interviewed with 8 managers and what-not and had a really good time.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh man, Crissy, that sounds really good....hope he gets it. Sounds like it was made for him.

The position that is open at Vitas is "Business Manager". Now, I've been called, an Office Manager, a VP of Administration, and an Administrative Coordinator...but never been called a Business Manager. Hope I qualify.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

wow - Crissy that sounds promising for Dave. I'll keep everything available crossed for him ^_^

Sorry about the "all bold" earlier - obviously my HTML code was lacking some eye-watching lol

Cookie - those crossings are for you, too - good luck girl!!!!!!!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good luck to all of you looking for a job!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thank you, LK

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Well, I just went on the Vitas career site, and the Business Manager job sounds just right for me.....until you get to the bottom of the page and it says MBA required....sigh.....so unless they make an exception, it won't be me that gets that job...thanks for all the support though!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Joyce-will keep my fingers crossed for you. I wouldn't worry about the title, but the responsibilities. It seems that a lot of places have their own way of titling things that sounds very different, but the job is essentially the same.

Crissy-no smoothies for you until you beat this-will cause more phlegm-same with OJ and milk. Hope Dave hears something soon.

We got a little rain overnight and today it is supposed to be mid 70's, high 60's tomorrow and low 70's on Sun-finally a small break!!

Of course if a Csection is needed, then I will have one, but it is my last choice. I have no desire to have a giant incision that makes caring for a newborn that much harder. Chris will only get 1 week off after the birth and after that it is all me.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Cookie - apply anyway! I know several people who have gotten positions because they had the moxie to apply, and they were Right for the job in every way but the one "requirement".
I'm applying for a job that requires a university course I don't have, too.
Besides, all your previous experience may total up to MBA without the letters behind your name............
And another thing - just applying for a job that you feel is "you" otherwise, should pick up your self esteem when they interview you!!!!!!! And if they don't, it's not for lack of trying, and we have to Try to get those plum jobs!!! I'm applying for these jobs, too.
You never know.........

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Yes, Susan, I totally agree. That's why I sent my resume to her yesterday. I would really love to hear something, even if it's a no. I can't tell you how many jobs I've applied for and never heard back from them one way or the other. However, after speaking with some HR people, they're telling me that they are just swamped with people applying for jobs and there's just no way to respond to all of them. So I guess I understand, but how many times have I sent a resume for a job and it was "misplaced" like this one at Vitas? I'll never know....

Anyway, I'm hoping for you to land a cherry job. I've been out of work for 20 months now....it's so very hard on the self esteem..... :o( (not to mention the POCKETBOOK!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

When my DIL was having Rory, 6 years ago, she was in induced labor for 24 hours, and then they discover the cord was wrapped around his neck. They told her she needed a c section, and she refused. Well, this old grumpy MIL, got mad and told her very bluntly, that is she killed my grandson, due to her stupidity, because she did not want a scar, then I would do a lot of harm to her. The Dr, was standing right there, and after she agreed, he took me to the hallway, and said, "wish I could talk like that to some of my patience".

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

LK-I would NEVER jeopardize Jonathan like that (good for you on getting her to agree). But, if I can, I would rather start out inducing to try for a reg birth and then do a Csection if we have to.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Stacey big incisions across your gut suck, I know, I have one from hip bone to hip bone. Once mine healed I never even notice it, it's a bikini cut. Always better to have a baby naturally, well, naturally with drugs! LOL You never know how big your pelvic area is until you try to squeeze a baby through it, some women can give birth to a 10 year old while others couldn't give birth to something the size of a newborn mouse. Wonder what they did before c sections became available??

Joyce, Susan's right, that could mean nothing! Most companies will take experience in lew of that, usually it's college degree or experience even though they might not say it. They could have 100 people with their name on the paper but they might not like any of them. You have to let them decide that, you can't.

I'm grounded from smoothies, milk shakes, ice cream... this is ridiculous but it IS getting better, every day it's a little better, I've hardly coughed at all this morning and I don't feel all congested, almost forgot what that feels like!

LK is that the same gal??

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

LK - not sure if I followed what happened when Rory was born. Obviously Rory is fine now, but what was your comment to your DD's MIL? I'm glad she agreed with you, and that the Dr was on your side, too. That's good!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I am talking about my son's soon to be ex. I am the MIL, or was... She was just being so bad, all drugged up and did not want to have a c-section, so I told her like it was. Then she agreed! I wanted to smack her so bad fo being stubborn.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

OH - NOWI understand!!!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Come on over sistahs and bruddah!
New room.. washed curtains!!
