(((Jaye and Kel))) and (((Cupcake))) what beautiful markings that little girl has.
(((Uncle))), hope that he is comforted by all the love that you're showing him and he is not in pain.
Nope...Savannah and Austin got to stay at G&G's house overnight. They would have been bored silly here with us ole hens! Sue is coming to terms with her oldest daughter...not my story to tell, but she is something else...
I planted some hostas that I got from Sue and Bertie yesterday and oh my gosh, the soil in the shade bed is just like sand it is soooo dry. I watered for a couple hours, and today when I did my walk it looks just as dry as it did before I watered, so I'm putting the sprinkler back on it again today. We haven't had any rain since the 11th. Only got about an inch then....things are really crispy here.
Sue is buying some plants off me. Now I just have to find containers. I picked up some potting soil at Sam's the other day, so I'm good to go. Only wish we could get some rain first so the digging would be easier and it wouldn't be so hard on the transplants. This week is only calling for 20% chance of rain on Friday and clear all week and back in the 90's. Sigh.....that week of cooler weather really spoiled me!
Phyllis, so glad to see you posting, and you KNOW that's what sistahs are for...the shoulder and ear~You come here and tell us what you need to say ANYTIME!
LK...any word on little Xaviar? Hope they're both doing okay.
My mums are budding up nicely and they should put on a good show later. The asters are struggling though in this drought. Hope I have a few blooms from them at least.
Hope your Monday is starting out good.
Love you guys!

Good Morning Ladies,
AW isn't Cupcake the cutest.
My grandkids are doing good, yep they are going back to school today. But now my daughter is sick with a cold. She works at a daycare and a few of the little ones have come to school with colds. Why the parents send their kids when they know they have colds geeze
Some of may remember last Aug when my cousin Rusty died. At that time we were having a surprise 80th b-day party for my aunt but then it was cancelled. Well yesterday we surprised her with an 81st b-day party. It was potluck and there was so much good food and not one thing was duplicate. My cousin's daughter-in-law made this very unique "cake"
All I know is that Mom and Xavier are at home, but no postings, and no pictures. As soon as I hear more I will post!
Cindy, Happy 81st Birthday to your Aunt! I bet she was surprised!
That fruit cakes looks yummy! Very nice!
This here is Andrew, Rusty's son. He was totally enthralled by this "cake". Wanted to know "Can I have some of that b-day cake?" He loves melon of any kind. If you can see in the bottom of the pix a finger? That is my cousin Debbie telling Andrew to take a grape.
LOL, he took one and stuck it in mouth and when he bit down the grape "popped". He thought that was the funniest thing. This little boy is so smart and has a memory that blows you away. I have only seen him 3 times since Rusty's death. Last time was about a month ago, and yesterday when I walked in the house he yells "Hi Cindy, look what I have" I was totally shocked and my 2nd cousin (his aunt) coudln't believe it either. It is like seeing Rusty all over again. My mom and I babysat Rusty when he was Andrew's age.
Morning everyone! My youngest daughter (currently living with oldest daughter) is moving out into her own apt. in January with a best friend from high school days....She is excited, and already buying furniture which she has no place to store! Well, she found a good deal, beautiful couch, love seat and two end tables for $60.00 in Dallas.......so, Mama borrows an old pickup from dear husbands uncle, and what a pickup it was~ an old oilfield truck, rough, with a big 5 in the floor standard transmission and loud pipes, lol! I took off to Dallas and when I got there, the lady also had ANOTHER beautiful set of 3 in the yard....couch, loveseat and huge comfy easychair for $100! Well, I had to have it!!! Our living room furniture at home has long BADLY needed replacement....
So, picture this. I am in a regular size pickup with no air conditioning, with TWO full size couches, TWO loveseats, and one HUGE recliner perched on top of the 20 ft. tower looking like the Beverly Hillbillies driving down the freeways of Dallas, hazard blinkers on, going no more than 50 mph on an almost 2 hour trip home. The only vision I have in the entire truck is out of the left rearview mirror and the windshield!!!! People were so amazed they were honking and waving and smiling at me!
Not 10 minutes on the road, the easy chair falls off and tumbles down the freeway....not one to be deterred from my mission, I stop and drag it back (it was not damaged) until two kind men stopped and helped me re-load and re-strap it...wow, what a day. My first husband always said I was a pioneer woman who wasn't afraid to do anything, lol!
Home at last, I am thoroughly enjoying my beautiful brand new bargain furniture......ah, it's comfy! The lady buys unclaimed items in storage buildings where people haven't paid their rent, so I got a brand new set of unused furniture for $100....wouldn't you have done it? hahahahahaha
Phyllis I hope things are going better at your job....who are the 3 witches? Abbisgranma, I will be praying for your Mama hon....bless your heart I know it is scary. Jaye, bless your heart too, what a week you and Kel have had. Sounds like a perfectly lovely funeral for Grandma....I am truly, truly sorry about Kel's uncle......I hope he is peaceful and doesn't suffer until the end. I know I differ from most in my opinions, but speaking as an old hippie myself, by all means let him continue to have his "green medicine" until the very end....I heartily approve. It's what it is best for as nature intended it before crime demeaned it, and it works. It will ease his fears, and his suffering. God bless him....
Karen, that is such a great deal on the furniture! I can just see you going down the highway witht he truck loades like the Beverly Hillbillies! LOL! Glad you got it home safe and sound!
Cindy he is so cute!! Happy Belated Birthday to your aunt! I bet she was surprised!
I take vitamins daily, always have since I was old enough to chew a Flintstones Vitamin. Hot drinks of any kind work, but when the hot drink is gone, so is my voice. My congestion is very very loose today, but it's still taking over my vocal cords, my voice comes and goes and I'm still hacking up all kinds of nasty ick. I'm out of antibiotics now but feel good!
Phyllis big hugs for you girl! Lord knows we all vent here, isn't that a part of why we're here?
Jaye cupcake is soooooo cute!! So glad you got to had a good Sunday and went to see Kel's uncle. So sad of his condition though. Lots of prayers going out to him and Pamela Spivey.
LOL Karen I can just see this! And WOW what a deal!!! Lucky day for you, even though you did have to wrestle with the easy chair.
Marion I have been concerned about you and your family. I know how terrible it is wait and not know how your Mother will come out of the surgery and recovery. It is a shame you can't find any help with her care and that you have been running into stone walls when looking for that help. Not being in your own home and having your own things so that you can do something while you are waiting must be hard. Keep the faith, lady, and know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
((((((((((((((((((((((Sistah Jaye & Bruddah Kel))))))))))))))))))))))))
teehee, what an adorable itty bitty cupcake! just grinning away at the tiny kitten!
OMG, I am so swamped today...ran like mad the enitre morning so nothing in house has been worked on!
Marion, Giant armwraps to you too...I sure hope the surgery is a success.
Jaye, Can't tell you how thrilled i am the Preacher has praised Kel! It's way past time!
on the run again....just needed to pop in for your armwrap!
BBL...
Ackkkk, Please excuse my hurriedness!!
Waving hello to Sistah's ALL, Hope everyone had a great weekend.
And I do hope your week is off to a great start...big smiles to you all.
Mom stillin CICU but progressing. Worn to a "frazzle" but my son is here and he has been a tremendous support. Will check in when we have more word from doctors.
Well, I done losted you and founded you AGAIN - dunno how I do it, but I should check the Sistahs forum more often!!
Marion - glad your Mom's progressing. Good to have your son there, I'm sure!! Take care, and God Bless.
Jaye - when we just talked, I didn't realize that Cupcake was a newborn! soooooo sweet!
Prayers are being said for your entire family. Good to hear Kel's parents went to your church, and that Kel was praised openly with them there - he's such a sweetheart, is your Kel....
I said prayers for all in need here, my sistahs and bruddahs, at Sunday's service, and continue to say them every day.
Bless you, All!

Interest thread for a PJ swap.
Morning everyone! coffee is ready! How about some nice hot banana bread to go with?
Hope everyone had a good nights sleep?
Had a great nights sleep! I might join in that PJ swap, I'll have to make sure I have my extra PJ's still before I join, I have some that have never been worn and they are too short for me, but I don't know if they were donated to the church or if I still have them in my closet somewhere.
Sue know your busy hun!
ok - I'm angry..........
I just got an email from the woman who took over my job, sending me a reference letter from the physician she now supports (and I Used To!).
She asked me if I were "enjoying my leisure time" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dammit! I told her "no, I'm not enjoying my 'leisure time', that the recession is hitting hard, because I haven't even gotten an interview"
How could she be so stupid??? And why am I even getting this Stupid Question from her??????? I "do not suffer fools, gladly"
I've been very good, up to now, about this whole "being unemployed" business, but REALLY!! I cried, then got mad, then called the church secretary to vent to her (she's a friend of mine). I'm so glad I was able to talk to her, because she really understands, and it was good to vent.
Susan there are crass people every where. you will get a job better than one she has or she'll mess up something.. don't worry.. blessings..
Thinking of everyone..T&P..
Susan, some people just don't get it! Sorry to hear your dealing with this now! But glad to hear you had a friend at the church to vent with!
Sending you ((((((((HUGS))))))))
Thank you Twyla & LK - I'm feeling much better.
I don't believe I'll get a better job - jobs like those came to me 2x with Christian bosses, both. Chances of it happening again, are: Slim & None.
I'll be glad to get a decent job, with decent pay.
Have to share my good news!!!
I feel like a weight has been taken off my shoulders. Chris's niece Sara bought us some things we needed from the registry. She got us the swing, the shopping cart cover, 3 sets of bibs and the stroller/car seat!! So 2 of the expensive items we needed!! I spent about 10 minutes in a holy crap moment before I recovered!!LOL Now instead of the stroller that I was going to get this week, I can get the dresser and with the money from Grandpa from the shower I can get the breast pump-that is all 4 of the $100+ items, so that takes a huge amount of stress from me!!
Thank you for secret angels!!
Oh Tink, that was so nice of her! I bet you were very glad she did that for you!
See, we do have angels!
I finally got pictures of my Nieces son, Xavier Amadeus Malone. Xavier was born at 3:46 am on August 26. He weighed 8 pounds, 1.9 oz and was 19.5 inches long. 104 hours of labor, once her water broke!
Evening everyone. I am home, exhausted and in much need of some restful sleep. Will check in sometime tomorrow with an update. Thanks each and everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers during this past few weeks.
Marion, glad to hear your home! Will be waiting for an update tomorrow sometime! get some rest!
Welcome back to your home, Marion!
yes, get some rest, and take care of yourself!
LK...he's beautiful! So glad they're both okay.
((((Marion))))...have been thinking about you so much. My mom's been having some problems as well, and has an appt. with her surgeon on the 13th. Hope he can come up with some solution.
Waving hello~~~~~
Cookie, what is wrong with your Mom? Sending prayers for her!
Morning everyone! Cookie yourup early!
Auntie M-glad you are home...
Tante-the ladies in the other building are wanting some news from you:) They are getting restless...
Hi LK..Mom is having terrible bouts with diarhea sometimes three or four days in a row....she's practically living on Immodium. She told her regular Dr. she feels like she's dying, inch by inch....there isn't anything I can do for her, and I'm really worried. :o( She called about seeing the surgeon and they couldn't get her in for 3 weeks...that just suks.
Oh gooness, If she has had that problem for a while, I would take her to the ER, maybe they can expedite the surgeon appointment?
Sending lots of thoughts and prayers her way!
Joyce-sorry to hear about your mom....has she tried the BRATT (bananas, rice, applesauce tea and toast) diet that drs recommend when you are sick and have diarrhea?
She has been seeing her family Dr. on a regular basis, but the last 3 visits, he hasn't had any suggestions for her. That's why she decided to call the surgeon. Mom is a diabetic, Stacey, and she does eat those things in moderation, but she sticks to a pretty rigid diet because of the diabetes.
Yikes Joyce, I am so sorry your mom's having problems! Sending lots of thoughts and prayers to her, and you.
Marion I'm so glad your home, big big (((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))
What a cutie LK! So glad he made it through that ordeal, and her too!
YAY Stacey!!!! That's excellent!!!
I DO have my voice back for the most part, finally!! BUT I keep hacking up this crud and it's grossing out my co-workers, but there's nothing I can do about it.
I've got to get to work, so I'll see y'all later, have a great day!
Good morning.
I'm here. Slept all day yesterday afternoon. My body just crashed. Guess, my mind needed a rest.
LK, you need to get rid of those bugs. I don't know of a good bug other than ladybirds for brugs. As much as Kel spray the brugs, the infestation of locusts are still not reduced! I'm despairing over the holey leaves. The only ones the locusts didn't devour are a few single blooms.
I love that name Xavier. May he grows into a good young man. The world truly needs more goodness nowadays.
Cookie, both your parents are in our prayers. Hope the surgeon can relieve her pain.
((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))))
Marion, nothing like home, eh? Welcome home!
Susan, I'm agreeing with Twyla there. Unfortunately there are uncouth people everwhere... don't have to be in Redneck country!! :D
You could have called me, and we could have had a good laugh over it!!
Stacey, you're lucky to have such a thoughtful niece. Besides Janice, it's nice to know you're loved well by another member of Chris' family.
Jaye - I did call you. Dunno where you were - probably "wiping cupcakes bottom" lol
Ah well, things May be turning around:
I got a call from an employment agency - the one that placed me permanently in my last job - and they want to see me tomorrow re: an Executive Assistant position they're filling. Interview at 10am tomorrow.
I got a call from the fella who's trying to sell our current place - he could have had someone look at it yesterday, but until I get a job and can afford a new place (mortgage) we've temporarily taken it OFF the market...... siiiiiiiiiiigh
The place we'd like to buy is still on the market too! We've been approved for a larger mortgage than we were, the 1st time, too. As long as I get back into a similar position (secretarial), with a similar rate of pay, we'll still be able to get the new mortgage.
I spoke to an incumbent alderman who has a blog where he's putting the information I gave him about the City vs Our Mobile Homes. I wish the City would get its act together! But, they're electing a new City Council and Mayor, so I suppose they're leaving it for THEM to settle, rather than the current one.....
So Much Drama in my LIFE lol I want peace, quiet, and a steady job, is all... not wanting much, am I?!?!?! ^_^
Well, I am up but that is all I can say at this point. Body is still tired, mind is weak and stomach is hungry!! That about covers everything. LOL
Mom is in a regular room but very close to the CICU Unit just incase, She is on a totally liquid diet for another week then soft baby foods will be introduced. After a month they will start her on very soft regular foods and see how she does. Plans have been made to go to a Rehab Center when she is released from the hospital to help with the feeding issues and try and build her strength back up.
In the process of trying to get her up and into a chair the weekend staff (not sure how they did it) caused 2 huge areas on her arms to rub the skin off and now we are dealing with that issue. Her skin is so fragile it doesn't really take much but these do worry all of us. Imagine places the size of your hands, one on each arm just above shunts that are being used for IVs. They put her back on the morphine drip yesterday but in much smaller doses due to the pain created when they tried to get her up to walk--not! We told them until we "were blue in the face" that she is unable to stand alone but I guess they had to find out for themselves. She had developed diarrhea but so far we don't know the cause other than the liquid diet--them maybe not. Having said all of this, I will say for 91 she is doing well and the surgeon is very pleased. I might say "nice eye candy" too!! Surgeon that is--see inspite of being stressed I look. LOL
Cookie, I think you did absolutely right by calling in someone else. Does your Mom have a Gastro doctor? If my sister and I hadn't taken it on ourselves we might still be trying to find out the cause for Mom's pain and weight lose. I am sending prayers and so hoping for the best for you and your Mom. Mom can't be replaced so take good care, which I know you will.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for thoughts and prayers and letting me vent when I needed to. Now I am declaring a few days to pamper me then getting things in order here as I will be returning south.
Bless you, Marion, for your good heart, and all that you do for your Mom ((((((Marion))))))
Susan I didn't check the phone.
I was in my recliner sleeping all day yesterday after my errand run.
Kel had placed the phone in bureau drawer as the cats tend to knock it off... maybe that's why I didn't hear it ring. Sorry sistah.. I missed out on some 'recreation'!
Marion, nowadays it takes very concerned relatives to get the serious medical attention. If it's not for you and your sister, your mum would have 'wasted' away.
Will she be able to stay at the Rehab Center? My FIL was lucky to be admitted to one with boarding facilities, so Kel didn't have to do that daily jaunts out of state.
You're not blind yet.. so why not enjoy ANY eye candy while you can.
Lol!!
