They pretty much are. I always RSVP even when it doesn't mention it.
2010 Sistahs reunion at Cookies..the memories! #4
RSVP are hard thing. Its a pet peeve of mine. truly it is
I would just make enough for how many you invited , then freeze the rest .
That is what i do.
oh and i do make sure i let people know . " o h i m sorry i didn't know you were coming ? i didn't get an RSVP from you ? " not a good hostess behavior but i need to do it. LOLLLLLL . makes me feel better too. :)
The sad thing is that only about 1/3 of them are my age or younger-most are a bit older....
That's true Stacey, most of them are my age! LOL Good ole Generation X!
I'm asking for prayers for my mom today, she needs lots and lots of them.

How exciting for you Stacey..more goodies for that precious child. I'd better add 'spoilt' somewhere in there!
Got it Crissy...praying for Mom...
Well, Bertie and I had a fun time last night. We went to the MVWGS (Miami Valley Water Garden Society) meeting...our second one...I took 3 pictures of my pond or surroundings to be voted on by the membership. We were to choose 3 to go into the club calendar for 2011.
Here are the 3 shots that I submitted.

Here is the 3rd shot.
There were 50 members in attendance last night and we each got to vote 3 times. There were a total of 8 pictures in the running. I voted for the lotus picture and this pond picture. Plus a white lotus blossom picture that someone else had submitted.
Boy was I shocked when 2 of mine were winners! Neither Bertie or I voted for the one with Riley in it, but I guess enough others liked him, cause he was one of the winners. The pond shot below was the second winner for me.

I was able to catch one small koi and one shubunkin from my pond, and I had them in a large antique jar. I donated them for the raffle.
Our speaker last night was from Green Vista Water Gardens and he brought 15 plants to talk about. 4 of them were water lilies, 2 hardy and 2 tropical. He donated them to the raffle after his talk. I was lucky enough to be the second one called and I chose one of the tropicals. It is called "Crystal" and sounds really pretty. Well...not too long after that another one of my numbers was called. They had specified at the beginning of the raffle that you could only take one plant and then you had to go to the regular raffle table for the rest of the drawings. So since I already had a plant, when they called my number, I slipped my ticket to Bertie! So she was able to get a lily as well, and she picked the other tropical. It was a blue one, I think called Laura Fraze. Later when we peeked at our plants, we realized that the lily I chose had a much smaller habit than the one she chose...so being the good sister that I am, I offered to switch with her. Hope I'm not sorry!
Love the photo's you've chosen..will you be selling calendars?
Congratulations, Joyce, on having TWO winners!!
Beautiful pics ^_^
Gosh, Betty, I don't know! Since we're new, there are a lot of things that haven't been explained to us yet. There is a picnic on Sept. 12th, so I'll try to remember to ask then if it's for members or if it's a money making endeavor!
I don't know what got in to me today. Yesterday I was so hungry for asiago cheese bread and I'm just too tight right now to pay $5.99 for a loaf at my favorite bread place....I've tried making it at home before and am just not happy with the way it turned out. So I went surfing yesterday and watched several videos about no-knead bread. Couldn't hurt to try, right? Not even that much ingredients to waste if it didn't turn out. 3 c.Flour, 1 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. yeast and 1 1/2 c. water. You stir it up and let it sit on the counter for 18 hours. Yep, that's right 18 hours. That's why you can use such a small amount of yeast. Then you pour it out, make a ball and let it rise for 2 hours. Bake in a covered pot (either a bread cloche or cast iron pot) at 500* for 30 min, take lid off and bake for 15 minutes more at 450*. Well, I added the cheese to my dough and I baked that in cast iron. The flavor is what I've been looking for and the inside of the bread is nice and tender, but the crust is tough. I like chewy crust don't get me wrong, but this is almost too tough. Not sure what to do to make it not so tough.
On top of that, I made some sun-dried tomato/black olive hummus and a pot of split pea soup! Surely it's not the Fall like weather we're having here today???????? Don't know what got into me!
(I did have to put on a light jacket when I walked the kingdom this morning...I think we got down into the 50's last night!)
Thanks, Susan!
Weather is about the same here Joyce, it's 64 right now, wind is up and actually sitting here at my desk I've got the chills and put on the micro heater...if that wasn't bad enough took a run over the the big Garden Center..everyone shakes their heads when I say I'm almost done with Christmas, you do know that 4 months from today it will be all over? lol anyway, weren't they setting up all the Christmas villages ready for display and to sell so see I'm not the only one thinking ahead.
I miss travelling with my r.v. - have had a hankering just to have something to go behind my small car, park anywhere and spend the night, i.e like when I was visiting you, just a place to hang my head..nothing expensive and so far all I came up with is the motorcycle camper which can be connected to a small vehicle...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjmJflcGSAc
then I remembered that my brother sold something similar for carrying luggage etc...wonder if I build him up with saying how smart and how creative he is if he could possibly make one???
More than thinking about the mini camper
OH MY! That was awesome! You don't need it to come see me though...I have a bedroom for you!
You are a sweetie but you know what I mean, while driving you could just stop off almost anywhere .. half the time I spend 5 or 6 hrs. in a hotel, why not in something like this...this one is in Pennsylvania, must be something up here, will go looking!
Yayay, Clapping my hands Sunshine! Of course anyone with an eye for beauty would choose your photos!
You have out done yourself with the pond! But you I am totally Biased on the thought because I got to watch you
you build it in one year and grow it with lots of love! Wow, I didn't realize that one would be so tall, It stunning.
So happy for your photos being chosen! Now geese i just love Riley to pieces but i would have thought the lillie with the two bees would have one! Big big smile it's a winner with me, you should frame it!
Glad you and Bertie had a great time, waiving hi Bertie.
Smiling with a wink!
Joyce-congrats on your wins!!!
Betty-not hardly as far as the spoiling goes-out of 35 people I think like 7 are coming:(
Joyce the tough crust could be many factors.
Usually it's using the wrong flour, dough is too dry or baking too long.
I'd go w/ the last one in this case. I assume you preheated the oven.
Though if you didn't cover the bread w/ plastic on a rise that long, especially the second one, the dough may have gotten a bit dry.
Congrats on the Photos!!
Ric
Waiving hi Ric!
Hows the work world going?
Hey Judy!
Going well!
Much more to do there now so the days go pretty quickly.
But I HATE getting up before 6AM.
Even though I usually got up at 7AM when I was off.....lol!
It's the 'Have Too' factor.
Ric
Well, Ric, I'm leaning toward 3, too. I did preheat the oven, as well as the cast iron pan I baked it in. However, the guy who was making the cheese bread said he was adding an extra 5 minutes to the baking time because of the cheese (while the lid was still on the pan) and then an extra 5 minutes after the lid came off. I think probably that the original time would have been just right. I did slice the bread and put it away still slightly warm (just barely) and the amount of condensation that caused has softened the crust so it's just right now. ^_^
Thanks for the kudos on the pictures....I repeat....wish I was the photographer that Ric is........
Perfect weather day here, calling for same all weekend..aim to put my gardens to bed, clean up and be on top of things while weather is at it's best...usually out there in a mini-blizzard lol
Enjoy your day!
Joyce your pictures certainly deserve to be chosen. They are all wonderful. I know anyone would love to have a calendar with pictures like that, however, I must say, the real thing in your yard is better than any picture.
WELL......... I'm back from my solo - singing went well (although my legs were like Rubber!)
Afterwards my previous boss took my voice coach, my DH, and I out for lunch. It was very nice.
One....... disappointing part of the singing.....
I had someone use my camera (she'd used it before) and well, I read the scriptures today, then she shut off the camera to let the congregation sing something. When she turned the camera back on for my solo, she forgot to press "Record", so I have a recording of my scripture reading, but Not the solo......
I spoke to the keyboardist, and she will play again for me on Tuesday @1pm, and get someone to record me then. I already called my mom and told her that the solo was missed, and that I will get it recorded again. It's not quite the same, though....
I Will Not tell the lady who was doing the recording, as I don't want her to feel badly, but I AM disappointed....... siiiiiigh........
I got so many people who were impressed with my singing, including our pastor, who said "Now that we know you can Sing like that...!!!" I had others say that they want me to sing again! :-)
As soon as I get it recorded, I will post it on a picture site, and send links to those that wish it.
Looking forward to listening to it Susan..
Lordy it's hot and humid..90 and then factor in the humidity..says we've broken the 2000 Sept.1st record..hmmm then they tell us that it's going to be quite cold this long weekend..can't win....
guess you are all seeing changes, fall's almost here...imagine, who would have thought it would go so quickly...
No changes here Betty, still hitting 99+. Hope your AC is working when you get home.

I am certainly hoping that it is..almost going to welcome to cold temps rolling in this weekend..
Waiving hiya Sweet Sunshine!
I was thinking this morning, how nice it would be to Spend Time with my Sistah's.
Today is my sister Carol Bears birthday! She would have been 53.
So I thought I would share this Photo with you. This is Bear! We were having a blast on the Boat in Montello (the Cottage)
But the reason i wanted to share it with you is because it I also took one of Sistah Janice at BJ's. One just cannot help but laugh with delight at how much fun WE all have when together...
But you know, Seeing this picture, just makes me smile.
Wishing That weekend never came to an end...
I so enjoy going through this thread. I get to see you all again since i don't have many picture, (stupid camera)lolol.
I have your painted rock in my newish bed, along with Bertie's! Tell her i'm waiving.
Nice going back and looking at all the photo's Judy...
You are too funny Judy..yep, I'm planning ahead, been looking and in contact with a company near here and got an e-mail this morning that the people who sell on behalf of the British Columbia firm won't be home till mid-October and I can go and see one of these to make the decision if it's the one I want..then watch me on the road..lol
http://www.leesurelite.com/
Judy, can't remember, were you thinking of changing the date for the 2011 reunion...
Jumping up and down, after yours it will be mine in 2012..if you can believe it I'm already in planning mode..lol
Being a recreation co-ordinator for most of my working career has led me into always planning a few seasons ahead and in some cases 1 year ahead, old habit die hard so am planning...
