Unquiet fingers are good for the soul, Sistah Judy.
If all our fingers are quiet, we won't need this thread!!!

Good night, all!

Jsye, glad to hear about jude doing a bit better! Hope he starts eating the right foods.

Well, I took a fall about 4 this morning. I got up to go potty, and when going back to bed, I trip on my own shadow and down I went on my knees. Pretty sore today, so I just took it easy, and hugged the ice packs!
Off to take more aleve, and then to bed! Night everyone!

Sue, sorry she is having problems, but here in Texas any kind of mental disorder, almost always gets approved for disability. Don't know what the laws are in California! Your up early!

Morning everyone!
Hope you all had a good nights sleep. My knees are doing much better today!

Coffee is ready, and I am off to the sewing machine today!

((((((Group Hug)))))))

Jaye, I'm so sorry about Kel's grandma..we went through that with my mom..she was 84 when we were told that she had lung cancer (she had quit smoking MANY years before) and that it was late stage. We knew how she felt about chemo and radiation, so we said no to all of it. She was with us for about 6 months after that..but she was never in pain and had a peaceful passing.

Susan, hang in there.. I just know you'll find another job that you love and will be looking back and saying Thank Goodness they didn't keep me :) One door closes and another opens... always.

Sue, I hope your daughter will realize the opportunity that she's being offered and will come back. But if she doesn't..it's HER decision and you've done the best you could.

LK, I'm glad you're feeling better today!

Everyone have a great day and keep your chins up and a smile on your face!

Glenview, IL

Good Morning...

Linda Kay, So very sorry to hear of your Fall, sending big Armwraps to you too (((((((((((((((((Linda Kay))))))))))))))))))
My goodness, it must be just that kind of week, I heard from my brother, He had fallen on his face, broke his cheekbone! Healing well.
Then My "adopted" DD literally fell out of a car!! she is pretty sore and very scraped up, she is on the mend too.

Oh My Gosh, Thank You all for the Hugs and Group Hugs, Love you all.

Susan, Just Enjoy the Lunchons and activities...

Awe Sue, That just put a smile on my face, So glad your DD like to wear Sistah Tshirt!! How cute.

Jaye, how are you today Sistah? Thanks for understanding, as you know, I do get very over whelmed. these 3 months are the roughest part of the year. This getting old thing is making it 10xs worse!

I am having a hard time dealing with Adopted DD's issues as of late...She is so sweet, had some issues and her parents pretty much left her to the streets. She has been living with us since June. Her story is a replica of mine!! I just keep encouraging her to keep the Faith, and don't give up...We finally got her Birth certificate and now her SS card. Long story, but Her Dad came to deliver the SS came in to meet us. OMG, He couldn't fly from the house fast enough, I don't think he wanted to see Jenny. Then yesterday, Her mom came to meet us and take Jenny out for dinner and spend time with her. OMG, I am shaking as I know her anticipation, she paced the floor, checked the window. All the while, I kept praying she wasn't going to be disappointed again. The last time they tried to get together, the mom Didn't Feel like seeing her!

Thanks for listening, I had a fire last night and i do feel better.

I hope you all have a good day.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

so sorry jaye, sending T&P's your way

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LK, CA is a pain about getting anything done.

(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((GROUP HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Jaye my dad's mom was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer at 94 years old, she was still as sharp as a tack and She refused treatment. The dr called the whole family in to discuss her treatment and what to expect out of it, he told us all that at best with chemo and radiation she would have a year, without treatment she had about 3 months, and we all know how horrible chemo and radiation treatments can be, especially to a small feeble old lady. I remember her words in response to this day, "I'm blind, I'm deaf, I have Osteoporosis so bad I can't stand up and walk anymore, this is not living. My health is not going to get any better, my eyesight and hearing are not going to come back, and my Osteoporosis is not going to heal itself, so I am refusing treatment. I would rather live 3 months with some sort of ability to do things than a year in total pain and sickness."
She lived 6 months and was ready to go whens she did.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

My folks have both told me as well that if cancer is diagnosed for them that they will refuse treatment as well. With Mom at 90 and Dad at 92, they both are ready to see the streets of gold and are not afraid to die. I will respect their wishes...(I always do!)

Judy, honey, my lil injun, I"m so sorry I missed your posting as well. Please forgive me and accept this hug..(((((((((Judy)))))))).

Well, I'm babysitting today and then off for a jaunt with Bertie tonight. We're going to a water garden night blooming tropical lily display with music, wine and poems...."Monet by Moonlight". We've never been to this annual event and we're both looking forward to it.

I bought two briskets to fix for the birthday bash for Mom on Sunday....surely I won't run out this time!

Susan have fun today at your luncheon (is it today?) I hope you snag a job right away and have double income with your severence and new paycheck...that's my prayer for you!

Sue....what are we gonna do with that GIRL!!!! Geesh! I'm still here if you need to call me.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Judy, I know how I can trip over my own shadow, but how does one fall out of a car? Sending prayers to both of them!

Cookie, how do you cook your briskets? Hubby does them here, and uses the 18 quart roaster. Cooks them for almost 24 hours, on slow heat, lots of marinade, and basting! Almost like a pulled pork, but with beef brisket. So good and tender!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Speaking of accidents... I spoke to my mom this morning as they were heading out to Santa Monica for an appointment, another dr who says he can fix her, let's hope so. Anyway she spoke to one of her friends in CA last night, the gal was standing on her bed replacing a light bulb, lost her balance and fell onto the floor, breaking 3 ribs and injuring her back to where she has a numb spot in the middle of her back, not to mention all of the bruises.

Glenview, IL

Thank you for the Hugs Sunshine. Say hi to Bertie for me!
Awe you and DGS have a wonderful visit too.

Linda Kay, Well, Jenny is 18 and a bunch of her friends all piled into this little bitty car. She was on the end, I guess the door was not all the way closed when the driver pulled away, and out she went...Thank you for the prayers.

Oh Crissy how awful! Goodness had to read that twice. At first glance thought your mom fell, so glad she did not.
I am sorry her friend fell and got so badly hurt...

I swear something with this time of year...Allisa was just recently hurt, one of the patients grabbed her apron and yanked her so badly pulled her back shoulder out of wack! She was out of work for a week...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Goodness Crissy, that has to hurt! OUCH! Hope she heals quickly, ribs always seem to hurt when they are bruised or broken!

Phyllis, if your still urking, how is your sternum healing?

Anyone heard from Kim lately. I saw her posting on facebook, she is looking for anyone to respond to her request for her, (um personal item) party! I have not seen her here for a long time, is she still a member? And where is BJ?

Judy, that must have been funny to watch her roll out of the car, but I know it was not so funny for her! OUCH! Someone was telling her it was not safe for her to be in the car like that!
Jaye, how you doing today? Feeling better I hope! Need us to send you some more theragesic or bengay?

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Sending prayers and hugs to all--won't even tell the list of things we have had here as it reads more like fiction than reality. Later I will write more. Mom has lost a lot of movement since I was here 6 weeks ago and is only a shadow of herself. Doing what we can to make her comfortable; now some one please tell us how to make her stop "fretting" about everything we do. Once a Mom always a Mom I guess.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Marion, thanks for popping in. Please know we are sending lots of thoughts and prayers your way!
A few ((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) too!

(((( everyone ! )))))
thanks for the kind words on DD. Well i did talk to her counsler and she said " the things she does bother us , but they don't bother her "
i guess it makes sense ? My dd just has this personality disorder and well. The things she does well.... they don't bother her .
She doesn't fit in with normal society and so people who are homeless and in shelters she relates too ?
so she just likes to cause everyone grief and see what kind of attention she can get and how many people, so in a shelter well.... i guess it works for her . in some weird way.
so with dat said . :)
sending T&P to everyone
i m tired.
good night

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

ROFL ....LK....no I wasn't lurking
the kids go tin last weds-fri and I was in dallas to meet them and do the orientation then came home and did a few things outside.
Went and checked on a friends cats since they are out of town and work started monday.

Had to go post about the fall RU for east texas so they can start thinking and planning on that

Send out an email on second arrival kids and a family in mineloa called so today after work I drove over and did the host family interview as they are hosting a girl from hong kong and have one lady to call that submitted a hosting interest to see if she what she has in mind and see if I can get one more hosted then I will only be 2 short of the hosting goal of 17.

Sternum is doing okay it doesn't hurt as bad to cough so if i could get rid of the freakin sinus drainage that takes place every morning and evening I would be good there
Every so often I get short pangs of an ache across my chest and dang it sure likes to itch in the center so it must be healing.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Wow, you are busy!
Glad to hear your slowly healing! Hope you find homes for the last two kids! Where will they stay, if no one has room for them?

Glenview, IL

Hi Phylis! So good to hear from you.
My gosh, Dunno how you keep it all straight. Wow, You started work already, with your busy schedule seems like you didn't even have a summer vacation!

Mine's winding down...Sigh, I am kinda thankful.

Sue, You know, Well, at least you have an idea of where DD is at. You can sort of rest knowing she is doing the best of her ability.
Believe me, I can relate with your DD,one of my sisters was a Street person...lived with friends here and there for years. Worked for Ready Men (on call temporary work) when she needed money. Well, We all have different ideas about homeless-street people...They are very individual and unique in a lot of different ways. But, One very important thing I have learned about them. They DO Take care of each other, Just as we take care of each other here! When My sister passed away (at home, on her own time) Mumma had a great deal of people from the streets send cards and notes. Sylvia, even left a prized possession at someone's house. Within the year her friends took up a collection for a card and enough to return the item to Mumma...
I am telling you this, i guess to set your mind at a little bit of ease with DD decision. I t won't take away the worry you will have but knowing she still takes time to see a councelor, and the fact that you are in touch with her, I think, she is showing you she Is in control of her life. I will keep her in my prayers for a safe path, and you for continuing with your Loving support. One Day, she might surprise you and come visit.
My gosh, how the timing of your post must be some sort of fate. I have been thinking about Sylvia and wondered how many of her friends are, I've met many of them since she lived in Chicago.

OH, update to yesterdays Post,
Jenny has decided to move on! Took me by surprise, but she has the needed documentation and decided it was time to go off into the world...I know we will see her again, Wrapped my Arms Around her and wished her luck.

Well, I've got to switch out laundry...

Jaye, How are you and Kel?? (maybe You posted while i've been talking.)

OH MY Gosh, Linda Kay and all...Your asking about Kim promted me to give her a ringle jingle!!
She is insanely busy with work...As you know she is in the Construction business, Spring to probably Christmas. Now she may even have to work on Sundays! But I told her you asked, and she was so touched. She says Hello to all, she is doing well.
She is apologetic she hasn't been visiting. She rises very early, her commute is like 1.5 hours very early, comes home plays with furries, eats and is in bed by like 8 or 9...
LK, ROFLOL, she invited me to her uh gathering! LOL, she busted out laughing at my shyness over it. Unfortunaley I won't be able to attend, will be out of town. But I thought you would get a kick out of that.

LOL, k...i really got to this time.
Have a good Day,
Giant Armwraps to all!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I have a cousin who has chosen the street life as well, except she chose the hard core street life as she's all strung out.

Phyllis it is so great to see you here, you have been deeply missed.

Judy thanks for calling Kim! I had a feeling she was working her tail off.

I think I'm catching a cold, I've got a sore throat and just ate some biscuits and gravy ]:-> for breakfast so I can take some cold medicine.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh Crissy, you just got rid of that bug you had, Hope this is just something passing through really quick for you!

Is anyone having problems with facebook today! I can't get in, the page is all funny, and I can't view anything!

(Chris) Des Moines, IA(Zone 5a)

I just checked it and it's fine for me.. maybe reboot your computer and try again? Did you try to refresh it?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I have rebooted, refreshed, nothing.... I will try again!

Jusy, glad you talked to her, and told her we miss her!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LK This is a cold, completely different. I will be changing the brand of my multivitamin though, I'm taking Centrum right now and I've never been sicker, maybe I should be taking two a night instead of one? (of course I figure this out when the bottle is gone LOL) I think I just bought some 1 a days.

Thanks Judy and everyone. Gosh. I didn't know so many people had friends and family. Who have the. Same thing. Thank you for the support.
Got. To call western union I can't get money from dh ? He sends me his pay check. Through western union.
Hugs

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

New room everyone!

Jaye just called and ask for me to watch the room for her, till she can get back on her feet. She needs prayers to help her get through the medical problems, that Kel's Grandmother is having!
