I posted this the other day, but yesterdays temps never made it past 73. The cooler temps brought out the purple around the center.

Ge, it's a Scotch heather and they usually bloom late summer early fall.

Pixie how do you maintain that field? They just grow wild? The weeds don't engulf them? I wish I got a field like that,

Here is Pink Elephant again. I think I know now why it's called Pink Elephant. Maybe partly because of its size, but I think it's because the blooms flap their enormous petals everytime there's a breeze like elephant ears. Though they really look like giant pink butterflies.
