Do we have to take a picture 'mom' lordy he's like his dad, never wanting photo's..keep telling him, you know how you'd love to look at photo's of dad and there aren't many, well I'm taking photo's so there will always be family photo's for the boys..that mellows him..

Look forward to seeing photo's of your material Stacey..your niece will love hers and will Jonathan..

Debbie, my energy seems to have zapped, playing with material blocks here and there and think I'll just sit and watch a bit of t.v. and relax..you must be having hotter weather than we are..maybe it's because it's overcast..

Suzanne just called, she's had her 2 year old grandaughter all weekend and she's teething so all the time we talked she was wailing..I'm sure Suzanne will be glad to get back to work tomorrow..

Tomato sandwhich here I come..

"TIPPER"

Do you sometimes wonder when tipping of late, the economy not being it's best, but you scrounging enough dollars to treat yourself to a meal and then comes the biggy, you know the waiter/waitress work for minimum wage, struggling to also make ends meet...are you 'tipper' or are you hoping the person who is waiting on you realizes that things are tough for everyone...???

wow, got that one under the wire..

LOL..you sure are making this brain of mine work..

Mom is talking about going to Buffalo in a few weeks, she's concerned I many not want to take her seeing as it's difficult for her to get around...told her it wouldn't be a problem, we could get something mechanical that she could ride while visiting rather than walking, do you think a SCOOTER would do it Tubby?

Quiet in town today, barely a car..newscast said they had anticipated that 1 million people would travel north this long weekend, traffic when I left Barrie Friday at 1:00 was at a complete stop, guess same people heading home and the locals just want to be on the safe side and stay home..

Betty is it tomorrow that Mike has his tests? I've been saying prayers every night for him..

Our long weekend holiday is Heritage Day, today.

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All !

Deb & Stacey - "They" make an "oil-less" Turkey Fryer now.... Don't know much about it till BIL mentioned he's used one and they had one for sale at Bass Pro....

Betty - Great pics.... I see now how Noah looks like you.... He got the Betty Look from Dad.... Re: Traveling... maybe I'll just do so good at this job...I'll pay off the house early. Anyway... If not... we'll just get Betty a Scooter ! LOL!

Deb - sounds relaxing! I've read some Nora Roberts and liked them. Went to library yesterday and checked out a book by Fannie Flagg. I enjoyed her "Fried Green Tomatoes" (book and movie) so this one is called "Good Morning Baby Girl" (or something like that).

Betty - I've always LOVED reading... and one of the books I read growing up was "The Good Earth" by Pearl S. Buck. After the very last paragraph (was I around 13-14?) When the grown children appear they are going to "sell the land" (book is about their Dad who works fingers to the bone to acquire it) ... I was SO UPSET! It became a family joke... that I would NEVER SELL THE LAND !

So my goal is to pass all my land along to Brock. It will have to be divided eventually (Plot is owned by aunt, sis and I). I would love to post a pic...any pic from our weekend...but having problems.

Tonight is DH & my 8th anniversary. I took him to dinner at The Little Village near my house... Appetizer: Fried Green tomatoes topped with lump crab meat and hollandaise, The Bread (Famous), House Salad with gorgonzola olive dressing, Eggplant Parmesan and Lasagna, a complimentary dessert. YUM !

Will plan a diet after all my "To Go" boxes get emptied.... LOL!

Hugs,
Mary

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Happy anniversary to you both! Congrats making this far! It is not an easy task these days!

Lyndonville, NY

Happy Anniversary Mary! Sounds like a very nice meal & night!

We had leftovers from yesterday...and I think they were better second time around. Took some over to Jeanna and Joe, and they were so happy. Tomorrow is Joes birthday, so I helped Jeanna get a few things together to surprise him. Now he is pouting he cant open them till tomorrow.....and he is 27! LOL

I am turning in.....sweet dreams
Debbie

Baton Rouge, LA

Thank you LK! Deb !

Deb - Fried Turkey is pretty popular in Louisiana...in fact I had never heard of it till I moved here... but I LOVE LOVE it ....very delicious and juicy !

Sweet Dreams you all !

Hugs,
Mary

Happy Anniversary, Mary!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, rained during the night, overcast ..hope it clears later today as we'll be able to see the northern lights if it is tonight..what a view that is..

Happy belated Anniversary Mary, your meal sounds yummy, lol, yep, there is always one last meal to be had before dieting..on my travels of late I've managed to put 5 lbs. back on, that's not good, must get regimented again, but lordy, not so sure I want to do that for the rest of my life..seems a couple of meals off track and there goes the weight back on..

Debbie, we never grow up when it comes to gifts..I'm with you, turkey dinner is so much better used up as left overs..thought I might pick up chicken/turkey yesterday but still had my roast beef..think I'll pick up one of those pre-frozen stuffed turkeys and cook it on the weekend..promised myself this weekend coming would be a weekend of rest..need to regenerate.

Susan, how was the weather on your camping trip? any photo's to share???

Barb, tossed and turned most of the night, I'm so 'anti biopsy' and knowing Mike will be operated on at 7am just makes my tummy turn..of course when it happened to Roger and he went down hill from that point on it was almost 20 years ago, so much has improved BUT with Dr.'s saying Mike's both lung are filled with growth, that both are collapsed, that there is nothing they can do...AND his feeling and looking as healthy as they can, I'd have let the Lord look afte me and enjoy what health I had left. Ann is bringing her laptop with her but not sure she'll be anywhere that she can access the internet..if not I told her to call me collect, know what it's like having to call everyone with updates and no coins for the telephone..she has a long list of questions to ask the Dr.'s once the procedure is done, said she always has a list of questions but they usually throw new senerio's into their conversation and she doesn't ask..she also wants them to be perfectly honest with her, if indeed he's terminal, say he's terminal, not lead them on...so dear friends any prayers you can spare for Mike would be greatly appreciated...told her you put another card in the mail for her, she thinks you are pretty fantastic..hoping to meet you ..

Mike is in my prayers again this morning for all these things in his lungs to be benign and removable. That said, may God hold Mike and Ann in His grace.....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sending lots of thoughts and prayers for both of them Betty. Please let her know she is not alone in this. Wish we could all be there holding her hand! I know it is a hard thing to go through.

Look what Lillie Marie got to do yesterday! She got to come out of the incubator for a few minutes, so Momma could hold her!
She looks so tiny, and comfy against Momma!

Thumbnail by taters55

thanks for all the prayers, will tell Ann/Mike that they have a whole lot of good people praying for them..it will be appreciated.

Lillie Marie must be improving each and every day, wow, she sur is tiny..mom looks a little in awe of such a tiny one to be responsible for...any news on the markings on her lungs? just too adorable..

Going to be an extremely hot day here today, even the air conditioner doesn't seem to cool the office down..Paul is in the city today meeting with potential partners, he sure is giving it his all with regards to expanding the business..he hopes by end of 2010 to have 6 offices in total..once they are up and running he'll only be called in to consult when there is a big file, think he's looking forward to it...no news on my situation, just as well, I want to mellow out this week..

Gee whiz, felt like a vet this morning...salve for Sailor, getting her to take a few pills is hard to do, then walking Ned, making sure his collar is on and he's comfortable, meds for him as well. Although HOT/HOT outside and I should have had a/c on, I put a gate at the back deck stairs to keep Ned enclosed, fixed the screen door so he could have access inside/outside, lord knows what kind of mess I'll have when I get home tonight...but, got to do what you got to do right? without someone taking Ned they couldn't have gone camping..what a gorgeous day they'll have today for scuba diving..

Glenview, IL

Good Morning.

Prayers continue for Mike and Ann...

Linda Kay, Om My Goodness, Thank you for posting a picture of Lillie, Prayers continue for her growing as well.
How precious she is...How is her mumma doing? I hold her in prayer as well...
Also, How is the tiny squeeky-know he was named something else, but Squeeky only comes to mind, lol.
Did your dad take him with him to Colorado?

Happy Birthday to Joe! Debbie, so glad you enjoyed your Turkey! Sure hope you got to enjoy your reading too.
Just love Nora Roberts books! I've read so many, but hmm, not sure I've read that one...Nice thing too, I have enjoyed 4 books this summer!!

Betty, love all the pictures! Yep nothing like camping to bring out the exploration in life. Both fun and educational on all levels.
I am glad you mentioned your mom, how is she fairing these days? So glad she still like to travel, so i do hope you both get to Buffalo.

Mary, Wishing you and DH a Happy Anniversary too, Awe what a beautiful Dinner you had! OMG, we just love the movie, Fried Green Tomoatoes! In fact it was on Cable the a couple of weeks ago, We taped it and us girls have been watching it a few times, lol still have it so might watch it one more time! I am glad you had such a wonderful trip, Looking forward to seeing your pictures.

Where's Crissy??? Hope things are going well.

Well, yesterday, I stained the entire deck, whew, what a job but boy it sure makes a huge difference, OMG, then wouldn't you know it rained last night, but I think it dried enough as their is little bubbles of rain, which is what the sealer is suppose to do...
Guess what? I finally got clearance to strip the back of the house!!! I am so excited, Once that is done, I will paint the Sun Room, Red to match the rest of the house, woohooo, at long last my house will be one color!! originally I wanted to Ceder shake the sun room, but Steve said no, cost too much, phooey...LOL, maybe I can talk him into it, just have to watch for the sales...

OMG, Can't tell you how pleased I am with the new Block!! It was, sooo easy too, or I just finally "with" the program! 2 more to do and I can get September's out on time!! LOL, Betty, you are probably on to october's already! Got to tell you, Just loved your block, well I so love them all...LOL, know we can't disclose just yet...

Well, I think I told you We are now with out insurance! Well, kids have to have a physical, I have resorted to last resort, OMG, don't know why I didn't think of it long ago, but The Kids and I ARE covered with health benefits through the tribe...Today, going to the clinic, to fill out the proper paper work and see if the Doc can fit the "little ones" in before school starts. Jake needs a Dr's name on his Sports papers or they won't allow him to play...Speaking of which, He has made Captain of defense line!! Well at least he thinks so, LOL he overheard the coach's talking...Also, he will be playing for Varsity, as a back up player.
Well, Also we have an epidemic of Impetigo, not sure that's spelled right, started with Jacob, he's all clear, but it is highly contagous and now the girls both have it! Julia, going to her Doc, using her benefits for work, and Hopefully Breenie will get ointment and pills from new Doc...

Well, i guess that about it in my neck of the woods.

Hope you enjoy the day!

Glenview, IL

Ohhh, Linda Kay, What a great picture of Mom and Lillie Marie!!
We cross posted...But, How exciting for both, that Baby got to be held by mom, every few minutes with surely help stegthen baby.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Judy, it's been years since I've heard about impetago (?) ..I'll say it's catchy..seemed like everyone had a patch or two...hope you get proper meds soon..

How come Judy after all this time the lightbulb came on lol re health insurance with the tribe??? would Steve be covered as well? Hoping it is either free or minimal cost to you... would be so nice if you got similar health system to the one we enjoy..

I think the red tones would look stunning Judy, they tell me every house should have a red door, represents a welcoming to all who come..little bold for me.. I'm sure if your deck had 3 or 4 hours of drying time it would be ok...you sure are on an energetic working kick..wow..

As for the quilt blocks, I have about 1/2 hr. left to sew and I can get September's out..been nice, painting girls all took 2 weeks off because Darlene was on holidays so I've been able to take over all the tables for sewing..almost time to organize my supplies and get everything put away..not sure I'll do Oct./Nov. until September..just wanted to get ahead of the game.. glad you like my block.... at the rate you are going you'll be a quilting pro in no time..always laugh, making blocks is the easy part, making them into a project is another story..On my May blocks and these Christmas blocks I'll use the sew and quilt in 1 step method...bought some material Sunday for maybe 2 or 3 bags which I want to do up for Christmas, had some put away but you know me, had visitors who dropped in and loved them so off they went with them..lol

LindaKay, went back to look at photo of tatoo, you must have a high pain tollerance to get that done..yikes...I'm aching just thinking of it...your son does the tatoo'ing right?

Victoria Harbour, ON

We crossed posted Judy...

Photo's of the work you've got done, always nice to look at photo's of work someone else has done..get tired of the me/me/me thing....lol

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

OOOHHH - those kind of photos are just wonderful. I'll continue my prayers for Mike.....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Barb, just got this e-mail from Melissa...

Subject: Re: PRAYERS!

He just went in about 1/2 hour ago. They said it will probably be an hour and a half to two hours. I'll keep you posted and thank you for the prayers.

Lyndonville, NY

Here with prayers also Betty....this is so scary for all involved. Remnds me of Mom as it does you with Roger.

Well, something happened during the night....and DH thinks my computer is fried. I am on his little work laptop and even with "enlarged" font/screen area....its killing me to read. I just hope he can fix mine.

Thanks for the B'day wishes for Joe...I will pass them on. He is in the doghouse today....lol. He got home from work at 9:00 last night....saw his birthday gifts....and it drove him crazy. Jeanna said he was non-stop aggrivating......and was going to set his alarm for 12:01 a.m. to open them....because that technically was his birthday then. Jeanna got so mad.....she finally told him at 11:00 to open them! So he has his new tool chest on wheels from Sears now....and then trned to her and said "Wow, I don't have anything to open tomorrow"! OHHHHHH he needs a kick in the backside. lol

Betty we have the scorching heat here today also.

Tell Paulto open an office State side....like NY....so he can give me a job. lol I have sent out so many applications and resumes....and not one call.

Judy...my son get impetigo from mosquitos...very b adly. Has had a few staph infections from them....be careful.

Where is Crissy? Not like her to take off without warning Hope all is welll kiddo.

Debbie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No word on the spot on her lungs yet. Maybe in a day or so. I will let you all know when I hear something.
Betty, tattoo's are painful, but when having them done, they are done is short sessions, so it is not too much to take all at once. The butterfly took about an hour to do, as well as the flowers. They took about 40 minutes each.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

I'm lurking...prayers for Mike and family. Also prayers for sweet little Lillie.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Long time and lots of needles LindaKay..yikes, I'm a coward..Stacey got one done on the 1st reunion didn't she?

Debbie, hope it's nothing serious with computer and Paul can repair it..feel naked without internet don't we?

Laughing at Joe, he's like a kid...when I wanted something Roger would say, 'get it, it will be an early birthday gift' that would happen several times before my birthday and Lord help him IF I didn't have something waiting for me for my birthday..what does he do at Christmas time?

Hot here as well..going to get worse as the week progresses..calling for rain tomorrow and Thursday though...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yes, Stacey got one from my son at BJ's!

Judy, squeeky/meatball is doing fine, he is growing so fast!
This is meatball and spaghetti. Meatball is on the left. My son took him to live with him in San Antonio.

Thumbnail by taters55
Glenview, IL

OMG, Hahaha, How adorable is that! Spaghetti and Meatball!! Wow, meatball, sure has grown. Obviously they are the same breed, which also pretty cool. They look just like good friends, sweet picture.

OMG, Debbie, that is how Jakes started! mosquito bites. At first i wasn't real sure, but he kept arguing that they were infected mosquito bites...And he actually cleared the one up, but then it spread to legs and even on his face... Well finally other kids were getting it from wrestling, so resulted in the camp, docs checking everyone out and sure enough had to take him in! But, i was so frustrated because i knew it was not normal. Next time I know I am right i will fight it out all the way, grrr. Why can't they just listen? LOL, Mom's DO know what we are talking about.

Betty, Yikes, that's what triggered my searching info on Health care for us. We were in process of filling out forms for Insurance, then it dawned on me, that there has got to be a program for us...I have to ask them about Steve, but I don't think he will be covered, or there may be a small fee. But having to take him to a doc, we found a walk in facility but ended up paying 125.00 plus the cost of the Pills. The doc was nice enough to give us her tube, barely used, ointment...Yikes, she was yelling at me to get him on Kid Care...Well now the other two have it, so I had to look into benefits...Anyway to answer your question, I had the Best of the Best insurance program through work and never ever had to worry about it...If the program will not include Steve then he will continue with the other forms and hopefully get coverage at a much cheaper price for just him...He is checking into that part, I got a Doc appt. for Breenie for tomorrow, they sent the forms, so I could fill them out prior to appt. I bring her info and immunization record and we go from there. Got jake an appt. for next week.
But they want Sabrina now because of the impetigo. Been keeping hers at bay with triple anti biotic cream, hardest part is the kid just keeps picking..Plus with her exzima...this could be disastrous, she don't listen either!...Now Julia, has benefits through work, so she has a doc appt...Plus, she's been taking an enormous amount of care to not scratch.......

Well, as far as my deck, yikes, looks like it washed off in some areas, to say I am not a happy camper is only a small piece to my frustration...Will have Steve check it out further and maybe just another coat will be ok, otherwise I may have to Power wash again and apply new coat. I am so not happy. It was not suppose to rain at all yesterday, any other day I would have been estatic.

But I will get some pictures soon...

Waiving Hi Joyce.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'm sure it's frightening Judy without health insurance, so many things can happen, not just ill health but accidents and such..what a worry for you! Just went to Walmart, almost like having children, had to purchase antihistamine and salve for Sailor..minimal cost compared to what you've been dishing out..a person could go broke real easy at school time, so many needles being needed in order to attend...am sure you'll get everything in order...is your native band a large band? here all our local indian bands are getting $$$ from Casino revenues, sure has helped them build homes/community centres and the likes...

Judy, noticed while in Walmart they have a spray that's called 'temp skin' which has an antibiotic in it and covers the cuts/sores, could that help?

Am sure you'll be able to touch up the deck, maybe the section that needs repair had oil or dirt left in the wood..

Listening to the weather report this morning they said Chicago was having one heck of a storm..you getting it?

LindaKay those 2 kitties are adorable..love the names..my Riley looks much the same but 5 years old... so now you have only 1 of the kitties?

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Hey...lil injun....

Victoria Harbour, ON

always get a kick Joyce when you call Judy 'lil injun' too adorable, pet name...I call her Babe...

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Yep...she's the Babe.... ^_^ Let's see anyone have more names than her? Judy, Seedtosser, Babe, Lil Injun.....I'm sure her honey has all sorts of good names for her!
