Morning,
Well here we go to a new room, hope you come join me for some chit/chat..
Best/Worse & What did I learn today..visit with friends!
I'll chit chat! For a minute anyway, I got bombarded here at work yesterday and I haven't recovered yet, probably won't be on much today.
Well it's nice that you dropped in Crissy...
I will always 'drop by' and see what's up, especially since Paul will let you work from home. Now that's something to think about, and it would save you a lot of money not eating out every day. That's almost exciting! I'm glad the company is growing and not shrinking, that's another very good thing!
Betty, I mailed your pieces of black and white on Monday. Let me know when you get it okay?
Thanks for the new room Betty.
Hey Tubby, what is the word for today?
Linda Kay
I haven't heard from Betty yet....
On the two words I sent...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But you asked.....
.....................TOTALY........................
Tubby
Tubby she replied to both of them. Sorry you missed them.
Here is what she said about "minute".
OMG Tubby a riding lawnmower, that just has to be my next big purchase...oh yes, I remember I'm retiring and won't be able to lol..now don't spend hours upon hours out on it and get sunstroke, a MINUTE or two MINUTES will do..now for most when we say a minute we have the best intention of devoting but that to a project, but somehow it peaks our interest and a MINUTE can become an hour or a day! On the other side of the minute coin, if it's something we dislike doing and someone says 'it will only take you a minute' right!!! it does but take a minute because it's not something you want to spend precious time on...so glad you are feeling better, all joking aside, do not overdo..hugs for Shirley..
And this is for medicine cabinet...
Now for your word Tubby 'medicine cabinet' just for you I've gone upstairs and taken a photo of my medicine cabinet..
What stories lie behind some of our possessions..moving into this house 6 years ago, I just knew it needed love and care..had potential even though my children thought I'd lost it when I purchased it..it would take a lot of energy to make it a home...to me a home is a place you can feel warmth and see that each who enter is special...with little to no furniture I took on the initiative to make some..one of my 1st. projects would be a (you got it) 'medicine cabinet'..with a bit of wood and initiative I came up with the perfect cabinet to me..a little bit country and a whole lot of storage space..I managed to make the cabinet, cut the panel and paint it to look as though it is a stained glass insert...nope, just the slight of the brush...on the bottom shelf lies some antique pieces..really things I've had since I was a girl, goes to show you, I'm as old as the hills, or nearly! Now inside, that's another thing, I'm not one to take meds...bet I have meds from the stone age..should really throw them away right?
Oooh, was busy this morning helping Suzanne with some files, got them all done and now ready to play...
Barb, thanks, can you tell me how much the postage was, must get it off to you...Ann was over last night..news is just not good..they did another chest x-ray and both Mike's lungs are filled with growths..he is being operated on (biosy) on Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m. - prayers please...just to see exactly what the growths are..for some reason they keep asking them IF they've been travelling of late which they have not..he will be in the hospital for awhile and then won't be able to do anything physical for months..can't understand it when they are just doing a biopsy NOT major operation..she was so overwhelmed last night...she did smile though when I said that you'd be visiting in Sept. or Oct. did you get my August blocks yet? should have! I've been working September blocks, almost done, hopefully this weekend I can ship them off to you. Special thanks for your generosity in sharing you stash..
Stacey, not a done deal but if it's feasible that's the route he said he'd go..can you just see me with hot chocolate, in my jammies and a blizzard going on outside while I work..now I'd be doing the 'happy dance'...you all could come visit and we could do crafts while I'm working, that's even better...
Crissy, another thing I'd have to consider is if it warrants someone evenings and weekends I'd have to hire and train someone to take over which means there would be someone in the house..but that shouldn't matter as there is always someone dropping in from time to time...of course the area I'd have finished as an office would have to be locked, not a problem either...
New 'word' totaly???
Totaly losing it...
Did not sleep well last night, Ann and Mike on my mind, then wondered what route my life would take shortly, did I make the right choice??? woke up at 5:30am when the alarm went off, short night when you fall asleep not much more than 1 hr. before alarm goes off..fell into a deep sleep, opened my eyes and YIKES if I don't rush I'll not be on time..funny, my grandparents raised me and when the word late came to mind I thought of my grandfather's word, "I will never go to work late, if it comes to running behind, I just don't go in" nor would he, but then he was never late! So rush/rush/rush..so glad I have these outfits that need no care, just put on undies, was in such a hurry almost put on yesterdays' lol (Tubby-you didn't hear that) fed the furries, grabbed my purse and off to work I came...my 1/2 way mark is Hillsdale where Bernie lives, when I make it by 8:30 I know I'll be on time even adding my stopping for Tim Hortons coffee....ahhh not to worry I made it on time...
Got into the office, put on all the office lights, sat down, grabbed my coffee, looked at the clock and it was 8am...now tell me how that happened, all the while I was rushing about I must have thought about the leaving time for Toronto, it was 7am, only have to leave my home at 8:00 now, soooo off to Walmart for 1 hr. of shopping...I am truly LOSING it Tubby!!!!
Did manage to get 20 perrenials at 2 for $1.00 and 3 other large perrenials for $2.00 so tonight I'll have to plant them...
All and all I did o.k. LOSING it is not so bad!
Off to look where the other 2 words were you posted and I missed...
You guys can join me in writting a story re Tubby's words as well..kind of neat!
Thanks LindaKay for posting my 'medicine story' for Tubby...
I wait patiently each day Tubby for my new word...
Betty
Your knew word is......
......................................Arobics.......................................
Tubby
OMG 'tubby'..
You know how I just had to have a Wii with the arobics and fitness programs...I whined, ok, almost cried, I wanted one, had to have one! Everyone kept saying, doubt you will use it, but I knew better...
So for my birthday Bernie bought me the Wii unit and with $$$ from my family I bought the Wii Plus...oh I was going to schedule 1/2 - 1 hr. every morning, by summer with my arobics I would be slim and fit...
Religiously for maybe 10 days I'd get up extra early, not only would I do the regular routine but I'd increase the speed, got to tell you I was already looking at dresses 5 sizes smaller than what I take..going to look good in July and August...
Totaly, totaly didn't keep to my arobics plan, nope..unit is stored under my couch..bet I'll get the what for when I plug her in again....
YIKES...although I'm always go/go/go arobics just doesn't turn me on...
Hello, and Happy, whatever today is!
LOL, UH, I think it's Wednesday...Yippee, that means our Boy will be home soon!!
He went off to Football camp on Monday Morning, for three days. Geeze we sure do miss his antics around here.
I've so much to tell you all...
But, First things First!
Waiving hello Tubby and Shirley! Was sorry you were in the hospital, But so glad you are home and doing well! Love it, Riding Lawn mower, but yep do not over do it...LOL, I could use one of those, my lawn mower fried, took it in last week, still no word. I'm starting to grow trees in front lawn!
Tubby, Betty did the last two words, Frantic and Minute right? I like this word game you two are playing, it's fun to read.
Linda Kaye, What a precious Gift, Your Lillie is a beauty! It was funny because the same day you posted her picture, I was at my friend Mil's house. She was just telling me about her 10 month old niece who is was born very early and only weighing 1. something pounds. The baby is happy and healthy today! So you know, Prayers continue for Lillie to grow strong and healthy!
It's amazing what medical treatments today...I, myself, came into the world at 3.2oz. 3month premature, LOL, I always say, the best gifts in life truly come in small packages...
Hi Crissy! Glad to see you can still drop in, hope your day isn't too crazy!
So, not sure if i read anywhere if Dave got that job? OH, I loved your Photo page from your trip!
Susan, so glad you had a nice vacation...Will have to check out your photos.
Mary and Debbie...Hope all is going well with you two.
I can't remember everything I've read in the last week...But I hope for Mary things settle down with the girl of yours...Not sure, but i think I would have had to "fight" back, But i'm Glad your DH said something to her, girls sure can be mean.
Betty, Betty...Wow!! # 1, I can't believe you've come to the decision of retirement! It's kind of a shocker, but you know, you have been thinking about it for a while, sooo, Glad you got Brave enough to hit that send button. #2, It sure didn't surprise me at all that Paul would make the suggestion of your working from home, LOL, sorry it took retirement for him to finally see you were serious about all those hints about moving the phone system to your house...Whatever the outcome, I hope it will be best for all, mostly you...OMG, can't believe all the change of life since I've been "retired" Half the time i don't know weather I am coming or going! I suppose it's a bit of both, Not sure how in the world i managed to get much done when I worked, now that I am home, I still don't get anything done, Hahaha, a vicious circle, but fun too.
What a fun day you had at the Elvis festival! Love all the pics. Now your off to Hempfest, how cool. Will look forward to seeing those pics.
Lets see, here's whats up in my world, Steve has been keeping me crazy busy with invoices and proposals! This is a good thing, keeps my brain in somewhat order...So he has monopolized computer. In between, I keep busy with a few projects, while doing laundry and reading...We went to the Cottage this past weekend. it was fun, but it is no rest for me. I have to keep it clean, work on the ever growing weeds, and now that we have washer/dryer...get the towels washed for next time, hahaha, be careful what you wish for! Plus go wherever the family wants me to go. Not that I mind, but thats, more time that I have to rush, in the end to ready the house for next group of people.
This past weekend, I had to create a list of House Rules, which kinda P'd me off since people can't use common sense! The last group left one of the Antique dining chairs outside in the rain!! So now we have to get that buffed out, told Steve that was his job, lol he already got the lemmon wash stuff for it...OK, Then We bought a motorcycle trailor...It was a great deal, So we picked it up on the way home, about 8:30, should be home in plenty of time to throw a few things in laundry for Jakes trip, right, not! We get on Highway about 2.5 miles away and the trailor literally blows up! No spare, Steve calls the people. They look for a spare, meanwhile we unhitch the trailor at a gas station, go back to the house for our boat trailor spare, stop and get the peoples spare, and pray that one of them fits! Turns out Our Boat spare fits the best, so now we haul it back to the cottage and then hit the road again...Thank goodness Jake had his football camp bag ready to go...We got home at 1:40 in the morning. he made do with what he had...On the way home I was suppose to sleep, but couldn't because, Steve hates driving in the dark, was already exhausted and so I kept waking up to make sure he wasn't trying to doze off...Then went to bed but no sleep because i had to get Jake to school by 4:45 in the morning. Let Steve, sleep in, till he was ready to awake. I got home and now it's light outside, I am Hearing birds and now kind of wound up so Stayed up getting little quiet things done, I finally kind of slept on and off throughout the day...Well, had to follow Steve to the mechanics, his Transmission is out, so I am now without wheels until Friday! OK, so Before we left, I couldn't stand the deck any longer again, So I got Jake to fire up the power washer!
Yikes, It was hard work, and I am still not happy so will have to be done again! YES, it was that Dirty, about 2 years of groatie!! Anyway, I learned that it is not only extremely heavy, but Also "Powerfull" duh, thats why it's called a power washer, trying to adjust the hose, lost control of wand and power washed my big toe!! YIKES and YOW that hurts! Toe is finally getting a scab, but I get to be barefoot, while it heals...OK, then...being the crazy nut I am, got into a wrestling match with Jacob, yep, i got "jakedozed" ended up smashing my head on a partition wall. gaining a mighty bump and pulled a sliver half inch long outta my head!! Not his fault, he simply lifted his leg for me to miss, which i did and went flying, lol, needless to say, he IS good, and I will abide by my own rules, play rough and someone will get hurt.
OH, forgot to mention, came home to half my stuff removed from craft area, GRRR, overflowing gutters cause a flood in air conditioner and it overflowed into the house! So kids moved all my stuff, now gotta get it all put back!
With all that, decided yesterday to do nothing, and finish my book! Well, felt guilty so continued with a few chores inside the house...Way too humid outside..Today, working on my blocks, i am way behind a gain, Not going to stop until They are finished!! Will Send JULY & August, I hope...Well, i better close for now, Got some beautiful prints so have to iron them.
Hope you all are having a a great day!
Judy, you've such a way with words, you've got me laughing out loud!
How will you ever have time girl to take on full or even part time employment? it's beyond me!
With regards to the pressure washer, that is another piece of equipment I said I have to have, still in the box never used, but, should do the house this fall, I'll take notes of what went wrong on your end of the hose so I don't do same...
I'm sure Jake will come home with story after story..does them good to be away.
Friend of mine Harvey, Judy, rented his cottage..lady burnt a pot, put it on the counter, burnt the counter meanwhile while trying to take it off the stove, the t-tower caught fire, she threw it on the floor, burnt the tile on the floor..yikes, that wasn't a money making rental for sure..that did it for them, no more renting...
Let's hope with the Rules/Regulations you post that all will go fine!
At first you said you had someone to oversee the rental of the cottage??? are you now having to run up and clean it after each group that uses it?
Me thinks you'd better put your feet up and read books, you seem to keep out of mischief that way..have more books for you..could probably put them in a flat box next time I'm in the USA...
Bet Steve loves you being home and being able to help with the books for the business and doing some of his running around, best he helps you with $$$ than someone else...
Good luck with your blocks...I'm getting ready to send out September's then that gives me plenty of time for Oct./Nov.
As for Kempenfest on the Bay, sure am looking forward to seeing some treasures that want to come home with me...
As for the job, yes, been thinking of retirement for a few years, then I think of all the extra playing I get with $$$ that are earned from basically playing in the office... Paul is extremely busy/busy with opening the new offices, won't see him much for awhile..he had T.J. from the radio station doing new voice ads this morning, I'm sure it's like everything else, it will either be I'm done, or, tomorrow the phones go in at your house...
OMG...OMG...Sunshine!! Where did you find it!!!
I am just beaming ear to ear!
LOL, Of course anyone can post! But you are not just anyone, singing,
you are my Sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are grey......
Jumping up and Down over here...You found my new Sistah Ring.
Hey everyone, Joyce gifted me with the Sistah ring. It was slightly too big and fell off my finger, I was in tears when i called to tell her.
And now, yaya she has found it! I am so happy....
Well, I just posted over on the reunion thread, but I'll repeat it here! I had looked everywhere for that ring. Even charged the metal detector to look in the grass by where you were parked and out by the barn. So sad when I didn't have any luck with that.
Saturday morning, Bill was out on the porch with the wet/dry vac and almost scooped it up. It was under the chair where you were sitting. He said...did anyone lose a ring? Like I haven't been searching high and low for the silly thing since JUNE! I did the happy dance, too. I just think that ring is perfect for you. Has the feather on it and everything! ^ _^
Everyone is always invited to drop in and chat..omg Judy will be thrilled Cookie....you'll just make her day..can hear her screaming now!
Tubby, for you!
Not sure if you are knowledgeable about our "Newfies" joke always seems to be on them...lol NOT fair...
A guy from Cornerbrook, Newfoundland was driving a Volkswagen Beetle in Toronto, pulls up next to a guy in a Rolls Royce at a stop sign.
Their windows are open and he yells at the guy in the Rolls, "Hey, you got a telephone in that Rolls?"
The guy in the Rolls says, "Yes, of course I do."
"I gots one too... See?" the Newf says.
"Uh, huh, yes, that's very nice."
"You gots a fax machine?" asks the Newf.
"Why, actually, yes, I do."
"I does too! See? It's right here!" brags the guy from the Rock.
The light is just about to turn green and the guy in the Volkswagen says, "So, does you have a double bed in back there?"
The guy in the Rolls replies, "NO! Do you?"
"Yep, gots me a double bed right in back here," the Newf replies
The light turns and the man in the Volkswagen takes off.
Well, the guy in the Rolls is not about to be one-upped, so he immediately goes to a customizing shop and orders them to put a double bed in back of his car.
About two weeks later, the job is finally done. He picks up his car and drives all over town looking for the Volkswagen beetle with the Newfoundland Labrador plates.
Finally, he finds it parked alongside the road, so he pulls his Rolls up next to it.
The windows on the Volkswagen are all fogged up and he feels somewhat awkward about it, but he gets out of his newly modified Rolls and taps on the foggy window of the Volkswagen. (It's ok, the joke is CLEAN)
The man in the Volkswagen finally opens the window a crack and peeks out.
The guy with the Rolls says, "Hey, remember me?"
"Yeah, yeah, I remembers you," replies the Newfoundlander, "What's up?"
"Check this out...I got a double bed installed in my Rolls."
The Newf exclaims, "B'JEEZ B'Y, YOU GOTS ME OUT OF THE SHOWER TO TELLS ME THAT?!"
LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hahahahaha too funny, those Newfie jokes!!
We call 'em "goofie newfies"! (shhhhhh that's not politically correct, is it?!)
No, but that's nicer than what some say..
Yikes, my subscription is due Friday, keep saying I have to go register then I get busy and forget..just went on and did so..good for another year...oh happy days..
yaaaaaaaaaaay - we gets to keep Betty!! :-)
Beautiful picture! Nice going on all the ribbons! Beautiful flowers also!
Thank you
Do you mind if I print that photo out and paint it Bev ... haven't been doing much painting in genesis (heat set oils) and would love to do so??? Not sure which year, must go look. Will you find a place of honor to hang your ribbons?
Just got an advisory over the computer saying major storm rolling in..I'll take heed after the tornado in my neck of the woods last month...
I would be very honored for you to paint it Betty. You are very good at it. I have been thinking of doing a little painting again, but have to clean out the junk room and put in a table because my Powder would not let me do it in here.
You be careful now.
Ya Betty
LET THAT PAINT BRUSH SLASH SOME PAINT.........
Tubby
Oh Betty, we want to see your progress please? That will be so pretty!
Very pretty. I love the phlox but it will not grow for me.
Love them as well, just wish they didn't grow as high as they do...perhaps there is a different strain ...
Kyle dropped in for a visit and it took all my time to keep my eyes open..
Well it's that time of night..
